Chapter Index

“That…… it’s that guy, right? The former Demon Army Legion Commander.”

“Yes. She was the Succubus Queen before Nika.”

    “It certainly looks like her.”

Leona glanced at Astaroth’s barely clothed body and voluptuous breasts, which could seduce any man or woman, and nodded in agreement.

Aside from the static and the half-melted expression, which made it seem as if her soul didn’t exist, Astaroth looked almost exactly like she did in the past.

    “How strong is she?”

“She’ll be weaker than the original. After all, she’s not the real thing, and she’s not alive. And…… she doesn’t look exactly the same as the last time we met.”

These were just fragments of time that had been spat out of the past, not living beings. They couldn’t be stronger than the original.

Moreover, the last time they met, Astaroth had been wielding a demon sword, which she had somehow obtained, and was swinging it wildly. Now, she was unarmed, so this was child’s play for Leona.

Leona, determined, gripped the Holy Sword tightly. A brilliant golden color emanated from the blade.

The brilliant golden color caught Astaroth’s attention, or rather, the past fragment that resembled Astaroth. It twisted its body, trying to dodge, but Leona was faster.

    -Slicck!

Astaroth’s head was sliced off by the Holy Sword before she could even react. The headless body took a few steps forward before collapsing.

    “Oh…… she’s really weak.”

It was truly unexpected, and Leona, who was taken aback, looked back and forth between Astaroth and the Holy Sword. Leona was at the same level as Leona at the end of the original story, so it made sense.

‘The Holy Sword seems stronger, too.’

Perhaps because of this, the output of the Holy Sword was stronger than I remembered. While we were both surprised for different reasons, the next batch of enemies began to appear.

    “Mira! They keep coming!”

    “Confirmed.”

The sky, which was completely golden, was filled with enemies who were forcing their way through. Among them were some who had tried to become Demon Lords when Elysier disappeared.

And the former Demon Army Legion Commanders.

    ‘Where’s  Dullahan……’

Dullahan was nowhere to be seen. It was fortunate that he wasn’t here yet, but it was hard to say for sure. At least I could hold on to my honor.

I drew a magic circle with my left hand. Unfortunately, I had to seal the Holy Spear. It could interfere with the Goddess and the Demon God’s work.

The Holy Sword was an exception because its output was negligible compared to the Holy Spear. Leona didn’t seem to care at all, as she expected this.

‘How many Legion Commanders are here?’

I parried a blow from a centaur with my fist, causing it to stagger. A bizarre-looking frog jumped from the centaur’s back and lunged at my face.

I dodged slightly to the side and swung my sword. The frog, which had lunged at me, was sliced in half, its upper and lower body falling to the ground. I swung my arm and threw the upper body, which was still trying to lunge at me, into the air.

Kwajik, the sound of flesh being crushed, and the upper body crashed into the ground, exploding. The lower body, which had just started to jump up, collapsed. The frog’s body immediately turned into a light swarm and disappeared into the air.

I clenched my left fist, and the floor behind me transformed, with spikes shooting up like needles. Dozens of monsters were impaled, and they, too, turned into light and disappeared.

    “……Something feels weird.”

Leona frowned as she slaughtered the swarming monsters.

“I feel the same way. It’s like swinging a sword underwater.”

“I’ve never swung a sword underwater, but…… let’s just agree that you’re right, Mira. It can’t be wrong.”

    “……”

Leona nodded, accepting my answer without hesitation. She moved her body again. I joined her in dealing with the enemies approaching us.

In the middle of the battle, a witch who had been infected by Astaroth’s tentacles and had become a Legion Commander appeared, but she was no problem.

The only effect it had was to make Leona cough a little from the poison.

    -Kuuuuung!

Until Mahbat, who was in tatters, appeared in the distance, Leona was hesitant.

    -KuoOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

With a roar that seemed to tear the heavens, its mouth opened wide, and a dull crimson breath poured forth. It was weaker than the original, but its absolute power was still tremendous.

I drew a magic circle with my left hand. As soon as the geometric pattern was complete, a translucent blue light in the shape of a hemisphere covered Leona and me. Soon, the breath swept through.

Like a typhoon-tossed sea, the defense mechanism shimmered, and Leona, who had been thinking for a moment, summoned divinity. The Holy Sword vibrated with power.

“Are you going to take care of it?”

“Yes. Last time, you, Mira, killed it. But it was extremely painful and miserable.”

    “……”

I couldn’t argue. It was obvious on the surface. After all, too many people had died from the aftermath, which was why it was a forbidden spell.

It wouldn’t have been a pretty sight to watch my skin melting, swelling, and regenerating in real-time.

“So, this time, I’ll kill it.”

Golden wings formed on Leona’s back. The wings, which spread out to the sides, fluttered with golden feathers. Leona flapped her wings vigorously and leaped into the sky, and the breath stopped.

I watched the retreating figure with golden wings for a moment, then drew a magic circle. A spear made of lightning and flames, about as tall as me, flashed.

The monsters rushing towards Leona exploded simultaneously. Golden eyes glanced at me and soared higher.

Her body reached a height where Mahbat had to look up. Leona raised her arms, which held the Holy Sword, high above her head. The golden light fell.

    -KuoOOOOOOO!

This time, the breath was fired into the sky. It was so powerful that the orange light settled on the ground. But Leona blew away the breath and descended.

Divinity gathered in the Holy Sword. For a moment, the world seemed to freeze, and as Leona lowered the sword vertically, time flowed again.

The sun reached Mahbat’s head. At that moment, the strike tore through its body, precisely bisecting the mountain-sized body.

    -Kwaaaaang!

The light faded. As the sun fell to the ground, the shockwave swept away the beings from beyond time who had been nearby.

As the shockwave spread, Mahbat’s body, which couldn’t withstand the mighty power, could be seen disintegrating into pieces.

    “……”

Leona, who had been kneeling on one knee, stood up. Although she didn’t say it, her expression showed a sense of pride. The wings were proudly spread, and if there had been a tail, it would have been swinging from side to side.

“You did it in one blow? That’s amazing.”

Leona smiled at my compliment. It wasn’t easy to kill a dragon the size of a small mountain in one blow, even if it was weaker than the original.

“……Wait a minute. When you say that to me, it feels a little strange.”

I avoided her ambiguous gaze. Leona hesitated for a moment, then raised the Holy Sword again.

At that moment, I felt like I was being swept away by a rapid current. I braced myself, and Leona, who was about to stumble, grabbed onto my arm and let out a short scream.

I narrowed my eyes, and the flow became visible. Time was flowing in one direction. It didn’t seem like a good omen, but it probably wasn’t.

“It seems like the Goddess and the Demon God are having some problems. Just in case, be preparedㅡ”

    “Waaah!”

Before I could finish my sentence, a dimensional portal opened, and people poured out. I was momentarily stunned by their faces. They were supposed to be waiting in the clubroom.

    “……What? Mira? Leona?”

The situation was just as confusing for them, and they stared at us with similar expressions. It seemed they hadn’t come here of their own volition.

The rapid flow I felt also stopped, so the two were probably related.

    “……Are you really you?”

    It seemed like them, but……

I activated the magic tool to be sure. Elysier flinched and pulled out a necklace from her cleavage.

    ‘It’s her.’

I put the necklace back in my pocket without her noticing. Elysier stared at me, or rather, at Leona, who was clinging to my arm.

It seemed she was wondering why Leona was clinging to my arm when they were supposed to be fighting. Leona let go of me as she noticed.

    “But why did you suddenly……?”

We were all puzzled by the situation. I was the only one who had an idea of what was going on.

“Usually, in this kind of situationㅡ”

    -Special human, there’s a problem.

    -There’s a problem, special human.

    “……It’s a complicated situation.”
