    ??? – That Vixen-like Woman

    * ??? – That Vixen-like Woman (1)

Junseo hits his forehead against his younger brother’s fortress of a personality, while Junhyuk becomes a toy in his *nuna’s* hands. Time flows strangely, with the brothers’ personalities and lusts misaligned, and the perspective shifts to a morning when the sun is high in the sky.

Inside a drab, monotone windowed building typical of corporations, countless people come and go. Logistics are in motion, guests arrive, and conversations are exchanged all day long for consultations – a dull scene. Amidst this ordinary scenery, on the top floor of that large corporation, an old man and a young, seemingly capable, vixen-like *nyeon* are mingling, forgetting their age difference.

One is Kim Yong-shin, the president of a maritime conglomerate.

The vixen on the other side is his wife, Joo Yeon-mi.

Unlike her old husband, Kim Yong-shin, who is dressed casually as if he were about to visit a seafood restaurant or go fishing, the woman, decked out in a sharp suit and adorned with luxury brands, seems quite displeased. The old husband, Kim Yong-shin, doesn’t back down either, and with a look of accumulated stress, they don’t hide their confrontational stance for some reason.

Joo Yeon-mi is a beautiful woman in her late twenties who looks like she has a bad personality. With her long hair swept back, exposing her forehead, and her wide *mappak* and sharp-looking glasses, she appears to have a very unpleasant disposition. However, if you remove all that, she’s surprisingly popular. She’s a foxy woman who seems to benefit no matter which way things go.

“You heard, right? They say once a dog gets a taste, it never forgets. He went to embrace a woman. Hahaha, how ridiculous.”

“Don’t speak like that to the young *doryeonim*. *Doryeonim* is from that bloodline. Returning to where he should be is the way of nature.”

They are showing that they are in a bad mood and confronting each other, but it’s not so extreme that they’re completely cutting each other off, so words are exchanged normally.

“I don’t know why you’re so nonchalant. I was planning to solidify our position in the village by securing the living area and then marrying her off to our daughter, but it looks like that’s all going to fly away. I told you to keep a tight leash on that orphan *nom* from the start, but what have you been doing all this time?”

“I never fully agreed with your plans from the beginning. But since you’re my wife, I just went along with it to a certain extent.”

“Yeobo. Don’t you have any intention of working for our daughter?”

“Effort or whatever, I’ve already given enough of everything. What more are you trying to covet? What more do you want?”

“It’s strange not to touch the prize that’s right in front of us. I’ve been anxious ever since I heard about him. Since they’re the only two remaining blood relatives, if we secure one and get rid of the other, it’s as good as our family encroaching on a part of this country. You may be old and satisfied with your current business, but I’m greedy for that too.”

“Don’t speak carelessly without even knowing what kind of place that is. The young *doryeonim* are not your toys.”

“Who do you think killed the father of that *doryeonim*?”

“My mistake. It was my mistake. I got caught by a poisonous woman like you because that incident was exposed. But as I’ve always said, I never had any other intentions. I killed that rascal because I thought things would get out of hand if I kept letting him run wild. Don’t compare me to you.”

“You’re so eloquent. You’re a murderer after all.”

    “……………”

The flow of the conversation turns dark. Kim Yong-shin, the old man with guilt over past deeds, and the young woman who smiles like a snake, using it as bait.

“You weren’t like this when we got married.”

“Do you hate that I’ve changed? I’m loving you in my own way. In my own way.”

    “Me too.”

“There’s no soul in that, is there?”

“I would have loved you more if you hadn’t said such things.”

It seems affection has already left, and a sharp light dwells in his old eyes. It was an eye that would kill someone at any moment, but the woman was not afraid. She would have been scared if she had received that glare without anything, but she was the one holding the weakness.

“Our daughter is only five years old, what are you going to do by marrying her off to the young *doryeonim*?”

“She’s five years old, so we can use her. If we train her well from now on, she’ll get along well when the orphan *doryeonim* grows up. It’s not easy to see age-gap couples like us, so I’m looking forward to it.”

“The way you’re trying to sell your daughter is disgusting. It’s fishier than freshly caught fish.”

    “That’s too much.”

“And didn’t you say you hated that village? Why are you so greedy for it?”

“Of course I hate it. Even though I look like this, I’m the head of the Women’s Rights Center, you know? So, I want to either reform it from the inside after securing a position as much as possible, or just get rid of it altogether. It’s full of weaknesses of male politicians, so I think it could also play a role in bringing women’s rights activists into politics, using that as an excuse…”

“Women’s rights activists, are you talking about those noisy things these days?”

“Those things? That’s too harsh. What era are we in? Now women need to step out into the political world and take action in earnest. That president from the previous generation made a big mistake, making it difficult for women to enter politics, but if we grab their weaknesses and shake them from within the village, it won’t be difficult. It’ll fall like *ututu* from shaking a tree infested with bugs, you know?”

“Crazy talk… you’re really crazy… how many people do you think are involved in that…”

“They’ll cooperate on their own, so it’s irrelevant.”

“Don’t do it. It’s not too late now.”

“I don’t need advice from someone who doesn’t cooperate.”

At those words, Yong-shin licked his parched lips with his tongue and exhaled.

‘From the beginning, she had a desire for power. But she seemed satisfied with marrying me and created an ordinary family. That’s why I was relieved, but that was the problem. One day, I confessed honestly that I had killed the man who was the *doryeonim’s* father. But I thought she would understand because she was family, but she’s trying to get her hands on the village using that as an excuse.’

He laments that his wife had a strong desire for power, and it became even stronger after their marriage. He curses his stupidity for not seeing through that part of her, even though their dating life should have been normal, and he didn’t want to understand what the woman in front of him was saying.

“I can’t understand people like you. Shouldn’t you just stay home quietly and make *jeon* or something? It’s not like I can’t earn enough, and I think I’ve given you everything you wanted.”

“I hate that *tteultak* mindset. The world needs to change, doesn’t it? Why don’t you understand that such one-dimensional thinking is ruining the country? Now is the time for women to come out, and I’m going to make that happen.”

“It’s scary. I can’t understand your words, and I don’t want to understand them either. To refuse to receive what I give…”

“We have to seize and take it ourselves. Aren’t they all things that came from exploiting and extorting women? Isn’t it normal to get them back?”

“Don’t justify breaking what was originally there in the process.”

“Justify, ha. How pitiful the women living in that rotten village are. Voluntarily providing goods? I don’t understand. Isn’t it obvious that there’s an atmosphere of pressure being created within the village? Are you crazy to just stand by and watch a facility that creates sex slaves?”

    “It’s a custom…”

“I’m going to change that rotten custom.”

“I won’t take responsibility even if you get hurt by doing whatever you want.”

“You know very well that you can’t do that. You love me and our daughter, right? You know very well what will happen to our daughter if I die, so how can you just stand by?”

    “Please stay still… it’s not a place you can change… you’re still young, so…”

“I can change it. The people of our country have a strong rebellious spirit and power. Whether the prosecution is colluding, the political world is a gang, or big corporations are backing it, if we cause such a big incident, one side will collapse. It’s only natural since they’ve been hiding something that big until now. It’s not the kind of aftermath when a celebrity has a drug or rape party. A crowd of people will rush in like water, you know?”

“Do you think… people will move… like you think…?”

“Yes, of course. I really like this part of this country. Maybe it’s thanks to the democracy that was built on a bloody foundation, but once it explodes, it’s unstoppable. I like it much better than the quasi-democracy of the neighboring country.”

“No. Don’t make things big and if you stay quiet, things can flow well.”

“I’m uncomfortable with you just refusing with words. I don’t want to torment my husband either. And flow well? I’m doing this because I’m uncomfortable.”

“We’ve done a lot wrong too, but I can’t help but be amazed at your greedy face…”

“We’re both the same. But I still love you.”

“I hate you, I hate you, you poisonous *nyeon*… how cute would you be if you stayed quietly at home…”

In the end, he stares blankly in silence at the back of his wife as she leaves.

A scene from a day that the Junseo and Junhyuk brothers don’t know about.

Someone’s end is rapidly approaching moment by moment.
