    Side Story

    (Side Story)

This is a giant underground bunker located in the Igros Kingdom.

This massive underground bunker was deep underground and could only be accessed by teleportation, so even the Dark Races were unaware of its existence.

Dozens of members of the Raon Kingdom Alliance’s royal family were hiding in this underground bunker.

The royals had entered the underground bunker when the Dark Races invaded the Raon Kingdom Alliance.

The royals secretly observed the land above with a clairvoyance crystal, waiting for a chance to leave.

However, Igros’s palace was built above the location of the underground bunker, and monsters roamed around.

Eventually, the royals raised and ate grubs, cockroaches, and mushrooms, living in the underground bunker for 17 years.

Today, the royals gathered in the bunker’s dining hall for lunch.

Kelvin, the spiritual leader of this place, recited a prayer.

“Goddess Elia-nim. Thank you for providing us with our daily sustenance today.”

Kelvin was an 80-year-old elder and the former King of the Yugren Kingdom.

The others prayed and ate their meal.

Today’s menu was grilled moss and ants.

People had accidentally discovered an ant nest, so ants were served as a special treat.

Mikhail, an 18-year-old boy, ate the grilled moss and ants deliciously.

Mikhail was the youngest in the underground bunker.

    Munch munch, gulp gulp.

“The ants are sour and delicious!”

Kelvin chuckled and stroked Mikhail’s head.

“Hehehe. There used to be even more delicious foods in the old days.”

    Mikhail smirked.

“Nah. What’s more delicious than ants?”

The people looked at Mikhail with pity.

Mikhail had come down to the underground bunker at the age of one and had lived there his entire life, so he didn’t know the world outside the underground bunker.

Mikhail was a prince of the Yugren Kingdom.

Mikhail’s parents, the King and Queen of the Yugren Kingdom, had died in battle against the Dark Races.

At the time, Mikhail’s grandfather, Kelvin, had taken the one-year-old Prince Mikhail and fled to the underground bunker.

Mikhail scraped up and ate all the grilled moss and ants.

    “Wow~ I’m full.”

Mikhail stood up and went to the practice room.

The underground bunker’s practice room had weapons, scarecrows, targets, and other things for practicing martial arts.

Mikhail picked up a sword and began his swordsmanship practice, which he hadn’t missed a single day.

Mikhail swung his sword down and shouted.

    “Haa! Haa!”

Mikhail had heard since he was one year old that he possessed the blood of a Hero.

In fact, the royal family of the Yugren Kingdom was connected by blood to the Hamel Empire, so they had a slight mix of Hero’s blood.

Kelvin always told Mikhail to become strong, save and lead the humans of the continent.

Mikhail practiced swordsmanship and read books with a sense of duty, honing both his martial and literary skills.

Kelvin watched Mikhail swinging his sword with a pleased expression and muttered to himself.

“You swing your sword just like your father used to. You’ve become strong enough now. Well done.”

After Mikhail finished his swordsmanship practice, he washed up in the underground waterway and read a book.

When evening came, people called for Mikhail.

    Mikhail was puzzled.

“Huh? Why did you call me?”

    Kelvin stepped forward and said.

“You have now become a warrior. It’s time for you to leave this place.”

    Mikhail was surprised.

“Really?! Am I going out into the world I’ve only seen in books?”

“The outside will be very different from what you know. Remember to be careful of monsters, okay?”

    “Yes!”

“According to the information I’ve gathered, humans are living hard lives as livestock. Go out there, rescue the humans, and save the continent.”

    Mikhail knelt down and vowed.

    “I understand!”

    People hugged and encouraged Mikhail.

    “Mikhail! You can do it!”

    “Waaah. Mikhail, be strong!”

Kelvin handed Mikhail a Mithril Treasure Sword.

“Unfortunately, your parents’ weapons are gone. But this Treasure Sword is the one I used to use, and it’s definitely not weak.”

    Mikhail accepted the Treasure Sword.

Kelvin also dressed Mikhail in armor.

Kelvin placed Mikhail on a circular magic circle drawn on the floor.

    Kelvin explained.

“Activating this magic circle will transport you to the beach of the Raon Kingdom Alliance. Hide yourself as soon as you arrive. The future of this continent depends on you.”

    Mikhail nodded.

Kelvin activated the magic circle, and Mikhail disappeared in a burst of light.

I, Kyle, was visiting the beach of the Raon Kingdom Alliance with my family.

I was sitting on a beach chair under a parasol, watching the children running around.

    Guards surrounded us.

Igros sat down on the beach chair next to me and said.

“Hyung-nim. I’m thinking of turning this beach into a tourist attraction. What do you think?”

“The scenery is good, so it’s not bad? It would be perfect to make it a swimming beach.”

“I also want to advertise it as the beach that the God of Darkness-nim visited….”

“If you let my family visit for free, I’ll allow it.”

“Oh! Thank you, Hyung-nim! I’ll do that.”

As we were chatting, a light soared up in front of us.

    I tilted my head.

    “What is it this time?”

In the place where the light disappeared, a human boy wearing armor and holding a sword was standing.

The boy looked around and shouted.

“Aaaah! A Demon and a monster!”

I instantly disappeared and appeared in front of the boy.

The boy was surprised and fell backward.

    “Aack! Who are you!”

Without saying a word, I kicked the boy in the temple.

    Peok.

    The boy fainted.

    People approached me.

    Igros asked.

    “Hyung-nim. What is he?”

“Looks like a human. Shall I look at his memories?”

I pulled out a thin Tentacle from my hand, inserted it into the boy’s brain through his nose, and read his memories.

    “Hmm. Hmm. I see.”

I explained to the people who this boy was.

    I had a good idea.

“It would be fun to make a television program with him, right?”

    Lucy Nuna asked.

    “What kind of program?”

“Wild humans are rare. Even the wild humans that are occasionally found all go to the zoo. He’s a top-class wild human, so he’s marketable enough. We’ll broadcast his life in the village on television.”

    Lucy Nuna clapped her hands.

“There haven’t been any good television programs lately, so that’s a good idea!”

    I said.

“This program will be a mega-project. We need to get a lot of investment.”

My other wives and Igros also nodded in agreement.

Afterward, I scouted famous broadcast writers, directors, and staff.

The kingdoms of the Kyle Holy Kingdom and large corporations invested in this program.

A village where 100 humans could live was built on vacant land in the Silvan Kingdom.

In the center of the village was a 3m-tall pyramid temple, surrounded by wooden houses.

Chicken and pig pens and fields were also created.

The village was surrounded by a stone wall.

Carol from the Talka Research Institute installed a tremendous number of small spy cameras, illuminating every part of the village.

Underneath this village was a hollow created by the Giant Ents, where broadcasting personnel stayed.

The pyramid in the center of the village was connected to the underground, and items could be sent up to the pyramid from the underground.

I chose 100 humans to enter this village from the human ranch.

I erased their existing memories and inserted the memories created by the broadcast writers.

I put the humans in the village’s houses and woke them up.

The humans woke up and went around the village and worked as if it were natural.

The broadcast of a program called ‘Hero Defense’ began on television throughout the Kyle Holy Kingdom.

Dark Race families sat on the sofa and watched the lives of the wild humans with interest.

One Tentacle child pointed to a human on television.

“Mom! There’s a wild human over there!”

    The Tentacle mother said.

“Hoh hoh hoh. The wild human is growing potatoes.”

At that time, a caption appeared in the center of ‘Hero Defense.’

‘The human Hero is arriving! Doki doki doki’

    The Tentacle child cheered.

    “Wow!”

Today, the people of Heaven Village gathered in front of the central pyramid.

Elder Santos, the village chief, said to the people.

“Keul keul. Today, the Pyramid-nim said he would send us a Hero. Now our village will be able to respond to monster invasions.”

    The people nodded.

They were the only humans left on this continent.

The village they lived in was protected by a pyramid made with ‘Lost Technology,’ a technology that had now disappeared.

The people accepted the pyramid as a god.

In the center of the pyramid was a handle-less double door made of stone.

Sometimes this door opened and gave them amazing things.

The pyramid’s power periodically weakened and strengthened, and when the pyramid weakened, monsters entered the village, killing and plundering the people.

The original hundreds of people had gradually decreased to only 100.

One day, a voice was heard from the pyramid.

“I will send you a Hero on O month O day!”

    The people cheered.

And today was O month O day, the day the Hero was coming.

    Village Chief Santos shouted.

    “Let’s bow to the Pyramid-nim!”

The people bowed to the pyramid and prayed.

    “Please send us a Hero!”

    “Please save us!”

A bright light burst out from the pyramid, and the pyramid’s door opened.

    Kkiiik.

The people watched with expectant faces.

When the door opened, there was a boy wearing light armor and carrying a sword, a striped short-sleeved shirt and shorts, and cookies.

The boy was lying down with his eyes closed, as if he had lost consciousness.

The people lifted the boy up.

    Santos was moved.

“Ooh! This boy is the Hero!”

A piece of paper was attached to the boy’s light armor.

Santos read the paper aloud, as he always did.

“The best armor made by the Atilla Kingdom! It’s super light and comfortable to move in when you wear it!”

A description paper was also attached to the sword, which said, ‘The best sword made by the Atilla Kingdom.’

10-year-old boy Jeffra picked up the short-sleeved shirt and shorts and read the paper aloud.

“The best short-sleeved shirt and shorts from the Serena brand! These are the latest trendy clothes~!”

Santos’s 17-year-old granddaughter, Rana, picked up the cookie box and read aloud.

“Jolly Polly Confectionery’s Cookie Set A. The chocolate cookies are excellent, and delivery is available anywhere.”

There were many things that didn’t seem to be related to the Hero, but the people happily received the items given by God.

Village Chief Santos took the boy to his two-story house.

There was a vacant room in Village Chief Santos’s house, so the boy was laid on the bed in that room.

This room had been used by Village Chief Santos’s son, but his son had died in a monster attack a long time ago.

Village Chief Santos’s daughter, Rana, nursed the boy.

Mikhail opened his eyes in bed.

When Mikhail looked at his body, he was wearing striped short-sleeved shirt and shorts.

Light armor was placed under the bed.

    Mikhail muttered.

“Ugh. My head. I don’t remember anything since I teleported from the underground. Where am I?”

Mikhail’s memories of going to the beach had been erased.

At that time, Rana came into the room and was startled.

    “Oh my! You’re awake!”

    Mikhail asked.

    “Where is this place?”

“This is my house. God sent you here.”

    “Huh?!”

Mikhail was led to the living room of the mansion.

Village Chief Santos, Rana, and Mikhail sat at the dining table in the living room.

Village Chief Santos explained to Mikhail.

“This is the village where the last humans on the continent live. God sent you here.”

    Mikhail nodded.

‘My grandfather said that teleporting would take me to the beach, but I ended up here. Still, I’m glad I met humans.’

    Village Chief Santos said.

“This village is periodically attacked by monsters. I want you to stop them.”

    Mikhail replied.

“I understand. That’s what a Hero is supposed to do.”

Afterward, Rana showed Mikhail around the house.

    Mikhail asked Rana.

“What are these clothes I’m wearing?”

    Rana replied.

“They’re the best short-sleeved shirt and shorts from the Serena brand. God sent them with you.”

“But what is the Serena brand?”

“I don’t know either. Maybe they were a great ancient technician.”

Rana explained, turning the switch on and off on the chandelier lamp with the fish carved on the living room ceiling.

“This is a beautiful chandelier made by the Sebasty brand. You can turn it on and off with the switch on the wall.”

    Mikhail was impressed.

“Wow! Amazing! I’ve never seen anything like this before!”

Rana also showed him the bathroom, kitchen, and other rooms.

Mikhail looked at the bathroom faucet, the kitchen refrigerator, and the gas stove with wonder.

These were things Mikhail had never seen before.

    Mikhail asked.

    “How do these things work?”

    Rana explained.

“We don’t know either. All I know is that this village is maintained by ancient Lost Technology.”

    “I see.”
