Lucas entered the room with Cassios.

    -Squeak.

Inside the room, Lena was huddled up, trembling.

    “Stop, please stop…”

Lena kept muttering for them to stop.

She was clearly consumed by fear and dread.

Cassios watched the scene with satisfaction. It was the sight he had hoped for as he came here.

    “Lena.”

At Cassios’s call, Lena finally raised her head.

Lena’s eyes widened as she immediately recognized Cassios.

    “Y-you are…”

“It’s been a while. I knew we would meet again someday… but I didn’t expect it to be in a place like this.”

    -Thud. Thud.

Cassios slowly began to approach Lena.

Lena retreated, desperately trying to get away from Cassios.

    “Don’t come any closer!”

“Heh heh, are you afraid of me? I don’t recall doing anything to Lena.”

“Y-you’re about to do something now, aren’t you? You guided us to the Great Temple under the Pope’s orders. And there’s no way you, the Cardinal closest to the Pope, wouldn’t know the truth!”

“‘The truth,’ you say. The ‘truth’ I know is that Lena colluded with the Demons. When I first saw you, I thought you were just a beautiful and strong woman, but I never dreamed you were plotting such a dark scheme behind the scenes. I am truly sorry to His Holiness the Pope. I should have noticed beforehand and not brought Lena to the Great Temple, causing trouble for His Holiness…”

Lena, angered by Cassios’s claim of knowing nothing, glared and shouted.

“You son of a bitch… You framed me and put me in this state, and you’re still pretending not to know? There’s no way you don’t know what the Pope did!”

“Hmm. Such insolence for a Sinner.”

    Cassios immediately kicked Lena hard.

    -Thwack!

    “Ugh!”

Lena flew back from the impact and collapsed.

Lena clutched her stomach, gasping in pain.

    “Ugh… Hngh…”

“I don’t understand why you’re acting like this after confessing in front of The Hero. Have you gone mad?”

    “Confess… Don’t talk nonsense… I never confessed… The Goddess… will not forgive you.”

“Hmph… To mention the Goddess’s name with such a vulgar body. It’s obvious who will be punished by the heavens.”

As Lena continued to resist, Cassios grabbed the rings attached to Lena’s chest with both hands.

As he pulled the rings upward forcefully, her breasts were pulled up as well.

Lena let out a scream of pain as her nipples seemed about to be torn off.

    “Agh! Stop pulling. It hurts…!”

“Lena, you need to know your place.”

    “Stop, ugh… Hnnngh!”

Cassios ignored Lena’s moans and repeatedly played with the rings like toys.

After a while, Cassios released the rings, and Lena trembled, curling up.

    “Haaah… S-stop…”

“I didn’t know Lena enjoyed such pain.”

    “T-that’s not true…”

Cassios lightly brushed Lena’s lower area.

    -Swish.

    “Hnnngh?!”

“You’re already soaking wet down there.”

A sticky, transparent liquid dripped from Cassios’s fingers.

Seeing that, Lena blushed and turned her head away.

    “Ugh…”

“With such a lewd body, you might actually be happy living as a Fleshlight.”

“S-shut up. I’m not that kind of body… and I’m not your toy…”

“I thought you were completely broken when I first saw you, but you’re more resilient than I thought. Usually, people completely lose their minds after becoming a Welfare Tool…”

In the Holy Kingdom, becoming a Welfare Tool meant being violated by countless men day and night without rest.

Since those associated with Demons were typically used as Welfare Tools, people treated the women very harshly.

In the end, even the strongest women would often break down mentally within a few days.

Of course, even if they endured, it only meant prolonging their hellish lives while still conscious.

Cassios knelt in front of Lena and made eye contact.

“Lena. Is there something you still believe in?”

    “…”

Lena remained silent instead of answering.

    But her eyes trembled slightly.

It was a very brief moment… but Cassios didn’t miss it.

    “Interesting.”

As far as Cassios knew, Lena had been abandoned by The Hero and his companions and had become a Fleshlight.

Escaping from this place without mana was impossible.

Yet, she still had the will to resist.

In his eyes, Lena was clearly hiding something.

Cassios called out to Lucas, who was standing behind him.

    “Inquisitor Lucas.”

    “Yes, Cardinal.”

“Has Lena been doing anything unusual or suspicious? Even something very minor is fine.”

At Cassios’s question, Lucas put his hand on his chin and pondered for a moment.

“…Not really, I think. I’ve been watching her constantly, and Holy Knights and Priests have been visiting day and night, so she wouldn’t have had time to do anything.”

    “Nothing suspicious at all…”

Cassios, stroking the beard on his chin lightly, suddenly began to scrutinize Lucas.

“By the way, you look very uncomfortable right now, Inquisitor. Could it be that you feel sorry for Lena suffering?”

“…Huh? Does my expression look like that?”

Lucas blinked, responding as if he didn’t understand Cassios’s words.

“Your expression looks that way, and you’ve been turning your head away since earlier. It seems to me that you don’t want to look at Lena…”

“There seems to be a slight misunderstanding. I was actually holding back my anger at her insulting His Holiness the Pope and the Cardinal. Still, it was satisfying when you showed her what’s what, Cardinal.”

“Hmm… Then I must have been mistaken.”

“No, my actions could certainly have been misunderstood.”

With those words, a moment of silence passed between the two.

In the strange atmosphere, Cassios turned and walked towards Lucas.

“Actually, I have something to discuss with you, Inquisitor. Before coming here, I received some reports about you, Inquisitor Lucas.”

    “Reports…?”

“I heard that you have been monopolizing the Welfare Tools and preventing others from using them. Welfare Tools are provided by His Holiness the Pope for everyone to use freely. Monopolizing them is unacceptable. Is everything I’ve heard true?”

“…Yes, it is. I am truly sorry.”

Lucas immediately admitted his mistake and bowed to Cassios. Then, he began to explain the situation step by step.

“I think my hatred for the Sinner was excessive, and I overstepped my bounds. It’s just that she kept spouting nonsense about everything being a frame-up, like she did earlier, and she insulted His Holiness the Pope. That made me so angry. I was determined to show her hell, and I ended up losing my reason and doing this. I apologize again.”

“Heh heh, I understand those feelings. People in the Holy Kingdom tend to overreact when it comes to matters related to Demons. Still, I think you crossed the line a bit this time, Inquisitor.”

“I will be sure to be more careful in the future so that such complaints do not arise.”

Cassios patted Lucas on the shoulder, meaning to encourage him.

“Anyone can make mistakes. Just don’t do it again.”

    “Thank you.”

“But I have another question for you, Inquisitor. Heh heh, it seems I keep asking you questions. I guess I’m just a curious person.”

“It’s alright. You can ask me anything, of course. It’s not difficult at all.”

“I’ve been examining Lena’s condition since earlier… and she seems to be in surprisingly good shape.”

    Cassios pointed out Lena’s appearance.

She had been violated by countless men and tortured by Lucas. But there were no scars or wounds left on her body, and she was in very good condition.

“Ah, that’s because I repeatedly use Divine Power to heal her after torturing her. This creates a fear of not being able to escape the pain, which is more effective. It’s a method I use often. I understand that this may seem very strange from your perspective, Cardinal.”

“Oh… So you’ve been continuously torturing her here as well?”

    “That’s right.”

“Even so, it’s amazing that you’ve healed her without leaving any scars. Using this much Divine Power must be difficult even for you as an Inquisitor.”That’sㅡ”

    “Please let me finish.””

Lucas tried to explain again, but Cassios firmly cut him off. Then, he looked at Lucas and rolled his eyes.

“The body can be healed with Divine Power, but the mind cannot be healed with Divine Power. If I know your skills correctly, Lena should be trembling just by looking at your face…”

Cassios looked back and forth between Lena, who was sitting down, and Lucas.

“Lena doesn’t seem to be afraid of you at all, Inquisitor. What’s going on?”
