Sea God Kraken
by Afuhfuihgs
Immediately after being defeated by an unidentified giant monster, I resurrected on Turtle Island.
It seemed that if you were killed on the sea, you would resurrect on the nearest island.
I frowned. The Black Leviathan, the most expensive and highest-grade ship, couldn’t withstand its attack.
“Did you see that thing under the sea?”
“Something like a squid was wriggling, but it was too deep to see clearly.”
“Isn’t that the Kraken raid that was just added?”
I thought while listening to the guild members’ conversation. As they said, what just appeared was highly likely to be the Sea God Kraken.
Until now, the raid boss monsters that had appeared in Deron were guys that would die if a party of 40 people ganged up and beat them.
But this guy was different. Combining the crew members on our ship and the people on the ship we were trying to plunder, nearly 120 people were taken down.
120 people weren’t enough. It meant more people were needed.
I hurriedly checked the condition of the Black Leviathan.
The wreckage of the completely shattered model ship was in the corner of the inventory.
When I placed my hand on it, a message popped up saying it could be repaired with maritime coins.
I made up for the insufficient maritime coins with gold and immediately finished the repair.
If there weren’t enough people, I just needed to call more.
I immediately wrote a message to all the alliance guild leaders.
Not only that. I had to summon all the ChewyRiceCake guild members as well.
Alliance – [We’re doing a new field boss raid. If you own a ship, please accept the summons right now. It’s okay if you don’t have one. Everyone, please come.]
I confirmed its appearance. A rough strategy began to form in my head.
The grappling hook skill I used when playing pirate games. It wasn’t a skill for piracy.
It was a skill that had to be used on the Sea God Kraken, that giant bastard.
Many ships were needed. Not just many. A tremendous number of ships were needed.
The number of guild members currently logged in was about 150.
I immediately used the summons order.
In the beginning, when we were playing pirate games, 80 people responded to the summons, but now there were more.
Kwaaang!
Numerous pillars of light fell from the sky. Additional personnel began to fly to Turtle Island.
The number of guild members gradually increased. I turned around and said to them.
“Those of you who own ships classified as large, please gather to the right.”
From the guild members who had just resurrected to the guild members who had flown in on the summons, everyone followed my instructions well.
The number of people who owned large ships that were classified in that way was 40.
At that moment, I could see dozens of ships on the distant horizon.
Although the distance was far, the guild mark was clear and I could identify it.
A white letter R on a black background.
It was the guild mark of the Requiem guild, which was allied with us.
The Requiem guild, leading dozens of ships, immediately approached Turtle Island.
Not long after Requiem arrived, other alliance guilds began to arrive.
[Requiem]
AreYouCrazy.
[HeavenlyWind]
JiHang
[TurtleTouchedTheSea]
Turtle
[Divinity]
EvilGod
[MilkyWay]
Maple
All the alliance members had arrived.
The masters of each guild got off their ships and approached me.
“It’s been a while since we’ve gathered like this.”
“Let’s get together more often. What, is this just an alliance in name only? Wouldn’t it be better if we ganged up during wars too?”
“Has our Blood Demon King-nim gotten any taller?”
Everyone approached me with considerable friendliness.
I took a step back and began to explain about the Sea God Kraken I had just seen and the strategy to defeat it.
I had already given them brief information through a message. A long explanation wasn’t necessary.
“Hmm. So that’s why you needed large ships.”
“How many do you need to summon the entire alliance guild?”
“To be honest, I don’t really know how many are needed. That’s because I didn’t get a good look at it. But wouldn’t it be better for our alliance to take it than for someone else to get it?”
“That’s true.”
“It’s better for us to take it than to give it to another alliance or humans.”
“Then, let’s check the numbers and distribute the parties.”
I began to check the number of large ships brought by each guild.
Combined with our ships, it was close to 300.
To use the cannons mounted on the large ships, at least four people had to be on board each ship, but there were enough people.
It was an alliance of six guilds. The members were mixed up and began to set up the raid.
Preparations for departure were completed in an instant.
Each person began to summon and board the ships with their assigned members.
The number of large ships summoned in that way was exceeding 300.
Some of the users who were resting inside the island rushed out to watch us.
“I’ve sent the coordinates to each guild leader. Please follow me closely!”
The first to depart was AreYouCrazy of the Requiem guild, who was quick-tempered.
His ship was also the same Black Leviathan as mine.
Dozens of ships followed behind the Black Leviathan as it cut through the sea.
I turned around and shouted.
“Set sail!”
We unfurled the sails and raised the anchor. Dozens of ships following my order began to move simultaneously.
We cut through the sea at a rapid pace. I narrowed my eyes and stared at the distant sky.
The place where I had died. The place where the bastard who had given me my first defeat as a pirate was.
The place where the dark clouds were spread out wasn’t far from Turtle Island.
We were soon able to reach the vicinity.
300 ships began to line up on both sides. They began to form the simple formation I had told them about before departure.
The sound of thunder and lightning began to be heard from the sky, and the sea began to churn.
It was a premonitory symptom announcing the appearance of the Kraken.
“Everyone, get ready!”
The Kraken’s attack began the moment my shout ended.
A pure white tentacle that had risen with the rough waves wriggled and wrapped around the nearest ship.
Kwajijik- Kwajik!
“Aaaargh!”
“It’s an attack!”
The sound of the ship breaking and the screams of the alliance members were clearly heard.
I drew my sword towards it and shouted.
“Attack!!!”
The Kraken pulled its legs out of the sea and didn’t show any other parts. That meant we had to pull its body out of the sea.
Puhbuhbuhbung!
Pung! Puhbuhbuhbung!
Starting with the cannon fire from my ship, additional cannon fire began to be fired from nearly 300 ships.
Over a thousand cannonballs flew in unison and struck the ship wrapped in pure white tentacles.
It would be team kill, but it was okay. The dead could be revived by the priests.
Kwaaaaang!
A tremendous explosion began to be heard in layers.
And at that moment, a gruesome shriek was heard among the explosions.
-■■■!
[The Sea God Kraken is enraged.]
The Kraken revealed itself along with a message that echoed throughout the world.
A mixture of squid and octopus, with pure white skin covering its entire body.
The bright yellow eyes embedded in the center of its giant body began to recognize its surroundings.
The Kraken had revealed itself above the sea.
It was creating waves by moving more than 10 giant tentacles.
Dozens of large ships swayed precariously from the wave attack.
Now that it had fully revealed itself, this was the chance.
I shouted urgently.
“Now! Fire the grappling hooks!”
No sooner had I finished speaking than the Kraken stretched out its 10 legs in all directions and began to grab new ships.
10 ships began to be smashed in a single attack.
It was that moment.
Kwang!
Chwareureureureuk!
Grappling hooks connected to thick chains were fired from the ships surrounding the Kraken.
I also used the grappling hook firing skill.
Kwang! Chwareureureuk!
The rapidly flying grappling hooks successfully pierced the Kraken’s body.
It was connected to the grappling hooks that had flown in from all directions, and it screamed in agony as it writhed.
-■■■!
Lightning fell from the sky, and the giant writhing created a tsunami.
Kwang! Kwang! Kwang!
Chwareureureuk!
The grappling hooks that blocked the Kraken’s movement continued to be fired.
Eventually, nearly 300 ships were able to connect chains to the Kraken’s body.
-■■■!
The Kraken writhed in pain, but its movements were noticeably weaker.
We had succeeded in neutralizing it.
But the Kraken still had body parts that could move.
It was 10 white, long tentacles.
It whipped its long legs like whips and began to cut the connected chains.
“Block it! Attack!”
Tukwang!
Along with the voice that shouted convulsively, a cannonball flew and exploded.
The Kraken seemed to have taken considerable damage from the cannonball and staggered, drooping its legs.
The cannonball attack was effective. As if confirming that, cannonballs began to pour from other ships as well.
The strategy was going smoothly. The Kraken’s health was rapidly decreasing.
But I felt an inexplicable sense of unease.
It was classified as a raid boss. This couldn’t be all of its patterns.
At that moment, the Kraken roared towards the sky.
-■■■!
It was a more dreamy voice than before.
It was after the Kraken roared like that.
Black shadows began to move from under the sea, and new monsters appeared.
Level: 65
[Elite Fishmen]
The guys who seemed to have abnormally mixed fish and human bodies clung to the ships and began to wield their weapons.
It wasn’t just attacking the ships. The guys who had crawled onto the ships began to attack the users on board.
The 300 ships instantly became battlefields.
Our ship was in a slightly better situation.
That’s because the Hwarang who was on board with us was shooting bullets into the heads of the guys crawling up, causing them to fall.
I bit my lip. If this continued, the Kraken might hide its body back in the sea.
I opened the costume window and put my legs over the railing of the ship.
Perhaps my actions seemed strange, Helena next to me looked at me with anxious eyes.
“Yeona?”
“I’m going to help out somewhere else, so please watch the ship.”
It was my time to step up.
“Awakening!!!”
Kwang!
A noticeable black lightning bolt fell from among the dark clouds and wrapped around my body.
At that moment, I equipped the demon wings I had been preparing.
My horns grew longer, my hands turned black, and long nails grew.
The jet-black hairs covering the backs of my hands fluttered in the sea breeze.
My feet had also changed. The small, cute toes had disappeared and turned into black demon feet.
The sharply extended claws scratched the railing.
Helena was making a tearful face as she looked at my arms and legs.
I smiled lightly and said.
“I’ll be back.”
I kicked off the railing I had been straddling and soared into the sky. Immediately after, I used the [Flight] skill.
I flew quickly towards another ship that needed help.
Giant demon wings spread out on both sides.
