Ruthless Wasteland

    [Client Update Notice]

    Hello, Adventurer-nim.

Deron Online’s update is scheduled for September 27th (Wed).

    [New Area Added: Ruthless Wasteland]

    [New Content Added: Gold Rush]

    [New Equipment Added]

    [New Quest Added]

Deron usually does big updates in two parts.

It’s an update that gets added about 3 months after the first expansion pack comes out. Before the next expansion pack is added, they add an area where you can get items at a similar level to raid equipment in order to generally increase the specs of the users.

This Ruthless Wasteland area update will play that role.

I frowned as I checked the announcement on Deron’s website.

Ruthless Wasteland. A familiar area name. In the Deron of another world, this Ruthless Wasteland area appeared as a new expansion pack.

But what about now? It’s not an expansion pack. The scale has been greatly reduced, and it’s just a few of the main contents.

Of course, I’m aware that this world’s Deron is a completely different game from the Deron I know, but I can’t help but feel strange.

What I’m worried about is gold farming.

With the addition of a new area, new equipment has appeared that is slightly lower than raid equipment, but still comparable.

Fewer people will be doing raids, and the guests who occasionally came to the level 85 dungeon will all disappear.

I had to completely revise all the routines I had set up so far.

The raid group that’s currently running might also go on hiatus.

But this was also an opportunity. I paid attention to the newly added content, [Gold Rush].

Maybe I could really make a big score.

    Yeon – [Helena!]

Before quitting the game, I look for Helena.

She’s been busy again lately, and her connection time has been greatly reduced.

Thanks to that, I was able to farm without any interference, but a lot of time has already passed, so the earnings weren’t as good as before.

It’s been about 2 months since I borrowed money from her.

The gold I was able to collect was about 65,000 gold.

    Helena – [Yeah.]

    Yeon – [Where are you?]

Helena – [I’m trading in town.]

Usually, Helena tends to stand in town and trade with other users for a long time when she’s not doing important work.

Rumor has it that most of the gold that comes out as a sale goes into her hands.

Is that why the price of gold doesn’t drop significantly?

I licked my lips and confidently typed in the chat.

    Yeon – [I’ll pay back 65,000 gold!]

I can’t pay it all back, but paying off a certain amount will lighten the weight on my mind.

    But Helena didn’t reply.

Why the hell is she doing this?

I tilted my head and waited for Helena’s answer for a long time, and then I discovered that her connection status had changed to offline.

Did she have something urgent to do?

I touched my cheek and quit the game.

We’re buddies who can meet anytime anyway. When I log in next time, yeah, when I log in tomorrow, I’ll give her back the gold.

I thought so and quit the game.

The day of the Ruthless Wasteland update.

The new concept map brought together many returning users.

People who had quit came back and asked if they could join the guild, but there were already 300 people full and waiting. I couldn’t accept them.

    “Let’s go!”

    “Eureurang!”

    Tadak- Tadak- Tadak- Tadak

After logging into the game and taking care of basic tasks, I immediately started running with Eureurang.

The newly added area, Ruthless Wasteland, could only be reached by boat.

Users who were flying on griffons, saying they were going to go over the air, were swept away by the rough winds and became fish food.

It was the developer’s mean streak to make people take a boat to get to the new area.

Many users were already launching boats and setting sail in the port city.

Looking at that scene, I was reminded of a scene from a Western movie where people were leaving to pioneer a new area.

It wasn’t exactly a wrong expression. The Ruthless Wasteland that was added this time was that kind of concept area.

I grabbed my pounding heart and launched a large boat.

    Tuang!

When the huge boat that fell from the sky appeared, everyone’s attention was focused on it at once.

I straightened my chest and started walking confidently.

It was time to return from an ordinary Blood Demon King to a very cool and ruthless pirate, the Blood Demon Pirate King.

    “Eureurang!”

The moment Eureurang jumped onto the boat, I equipped the pirate hat costume to match the timing.

    “Hmm…”

The slightly salty scent of seawater and the faint sound of seagulls stimulated the pirate’s instincts.

But I held back. Plundering now was just a waste of time.

The captain boarded the ship. Then, the right crew members are needed.

I immediately sent messages to Hwarang, Helena, Iyap, and Snow Mage.

Yeon – [Crew members, are you all ready?]

Hwarang – [I’m already in the Wasteland area?]

Helena-nim is not a connected target.

Iyap – [Guild Leader-nim, are you going to play pirates again?]

Snow Mage – [Yes! I’m running right away!]

I clicked my tongue as I checked the returning replies.

I can’t help it with Helena, but why are the other people showing this kind of reaction?

Shouldn’t they come running immediately when such a cool and powerful captain calls?

Only Snow Mage’s last answer pleased me.

How long did I wait after sending Eureurang back with reverse summon? Hwarang, Iyap, and Snow Mage came to my ship.

They said that, but they clearly wanted to sail with me.

    “Ahoy~!”

    “Ahoy~!”

If you ask me who is the most compatible person with me in the guild, I can confidently answer.

It was Snow Mage. She was the one who taught me this word, Ahoy.

It’s a word that sticks to my mouth, so it sometimes comes out in real life.

“Captain-nim! Where is the destination of this voyage?”

“Good question. This destination is the newly discovered area, Ruthless Wasteland.”

    “Heok…! Ruthless Wasteland…!”

Snow Mage’s reaction was always excellent.

I crossed my arms and nodded, giving Iyap and Hwarang a look.

The two people who were standing blankly in the back exchanged glances and then slowly opened their mouths.

    “Wow… the Wasteland…”

    “I’m looking forward to it.”

Really, it couldn’t be a more discouraging answer.

Anyway, the crew has gathered, so it’s time to depart.

“Raise the anchor! Unfurl the sails! We’re setting sail for a new area!”

    “Ahoy!”

The only person who answered excitedly to my command was Snow Mage.

Iyap and Hwarang quickly moved and adjusted the anchor and sails.

    Peolleok-!

Although it was a voyage with only 3 crew members, unlike the previous voyages, the throbbing anticipation was greater than ever.

I was immersed in the game. The moment I started focusing on the game more than ever, I became the perfect pirate captain.

The sea had long fallen into my hands. That’s right. I had conquered everything.

But this greed in my heart could not yet be satisfied. I needed something new.

I leave the sea and head to land. To a new area that no one has conquered yet.

That was the purpose of this voyage.

“Captain-nim! Dolphins have appeared in the front!”

    “Heok…!”

At Snow Mage’s words, I ran forward and stuck my head out.

Then, dolphins jumped up from under the sea, splashing.

A group of dolphins appeared at the same time as the voyage began. I was incredibly lucky.

Dolphins that are occasionally encountered during a voyage give the ship a beneficial effect.

    Swaaaaaa-!

The ship started moving faster than before. It was truly a rapid advance.

“Captain-nim!!! There’s a ship from the enemy alliance on the right!”

    “Hmm…”

I turned my head at Snow Mage’s words, and sure enough, the enemy alliance’s ship was moving at a fast speed.

    But I shook my head.

“It’s just a waste of time. It’s not too late to fight in the new area.”

“Tremendous mercy! You’re the Captain-nim after all!”

The enemy alliance’s ship also doesn’t seem to want to fight. They turned the ship’s direction and started moving away from my ship.

It was the escape of the weak, but it was a wise decision.

    I nodded and smiled.

I run and run for a long time. The sea weather, which changes several times a day, came to me with storms and rain, but it couldn’t interfere with my voyage.

“Ah! Captain-nim! I see land in the front!”

It’s as Snow Mage said. I ran to the front of the ship and stuck my head out, and a large port and the city that followed it came into view.

I had arrived at the new area [Ruthless Wasteland].

I waited for the moment when the ship got closer to the port and shouted.

    “Everyone disembark!”

There was no need to awkwardly touch the sails and anchor to prepare.

I shouted to the crew and jumped off the ship.

    Tak-!

    Superhero Landing

It was a very cool and perfect landing posture.

Immediately after I jumped off, my crew jumped off behind me.

“Is this the place? A new land.”

    “That’s right!”

I got up from my seat, adjusted my pirate hat, and looked around the city.

The city built behind the large area that serves as a port looked like a historical drama set had been moved as it is.

The carriages, stables, and even the pubs that can be seen on the street.

An area where men’s romance is alive and breathing.

[City of Pioneers – Gold City]

As you can see from the name, it was a name that reeked of money.

I licked my tongue and raised my right hand.

Then, the large ship, the Black Leviathan, which was sliding towards the port, was sucked into my hand.

“Now that we’re all here, are you going to go?”

Hwarang said that and tried to leave.

But, at my following words, he stopped in his tracks.

    “Hwarang.”

    “Why.”

    “I need a good gunslinger.”

    “…”

I stared at Hwarang. I know him. Although he was another version of myself from another world, although he was a complete stranger, I’m the only one who understands him best in this world.

    At that moment, Hwarang reacted.

He took out the pistol stuck in his waist and rotated it with his finger.

    “I promise a high reward.”

    Hwiriririk-

The pistol that was dancing in Hwarang’s hand slid into the holster.

And then he quietly shone his eyes.

“Guild Leader-nim… are you going to do something weird again? Did you watch a Western movie or something yesterday?”

I didn’t answer Iyap’s question until the end.
