Receiving the Main Quest

    “Cough…!”

    Blood splattered.

    I can’t breathe.

The blood seeping into the cut on my neck was causing trouble.

    And that wasn’t all.

I poured in a strong electrical current to magnetize the area so the severed parts would stick together.

As much as the strong Magical Power, an intense Chill took root.

A momentary decision driven by survival instinct.

But starting from the horizontal line-shaped bruise on my neck, frost flowers bloomed.

Americano collapsed to the floor, slamming her head against it.

    She gripped her neck.

    Squeezed it.

    “Cough…! Hack…! Queeeack…!”

An exceptionally strong Magical Power was applied to the cut.

The Chill that had taken root also permeated the entire cut, blocking her breath.

Still, she could barely speak. Through the tiny gap, she shouted in a hoarse voice.

    “Heeeheo…!”

    ‘Oh dear.’

Cappuccino, who had been hiding somewhere, jumped out and approached.

    ‘You’ve been through a lot.’

    Heater Magic healed her.

    Melting the frozen neck.

The agonizing screams, as if a noose was tightening around her neck, gradually subsided.

The hand that had been squeezing her neck, trying to create an airway, lost its strength.

    “Haaah…! Haaaah…!”

    She made a deflated sound.

I thought I was going to die.

    I almost really died!

‘I thought you were going to die.’

    “Me too… Cough…! Yeah.”

She took out water from her Inventory and drank it.

Moistening her throat, which had been dried out by the Chill.

But the fire clinging to her body heated the water, and hot water flowed down her throat.

    Still, it was delicious!

‘But when are you going to get rid of that?’

    “Not yet…”

    It’s not over.

The fire clinging to her body.

She kept it going without extinguishing it.

Americano reminded herself of the purpose for which she had come to the Dungeon.

‘You can rest now. Let’s come back to the Dungeon tomorrow, okay? Your neck flew off, you know.’

“It’s the opposite. I came all the way here.”

She stood up and circulated her Magical Power even more strongly.

The severed arm was frozen solid and unusable.

Her hair was also cut to neck length.

    Anything else?

    It’s okay.

    OK.

    “Just use Heater Magic well.”

‘Don’t blame me if you die.’

    “That’s what I want.”

    She headed inside the Dungeon.

Immediately, she encountered a Demonic Cultist.

At the same time, she encountered a Golem.

Judging by the fact that it looked like a boss monster, all those Demonic Cultists seemed to be a raid party gathered to catch the Golem.

    Her eyes glowed red.

    Ah, her face.

She covered her face with her hand.

But she only had one hand.

    Yes, that’s it.

    “Light!”

    ‘Okay.’

    It shone even more intensely.

No one could see Americano’s face, only the figure enveloped in light.

Taking advantage of that gap, the Dungeon boss.

    [Iron Golem]

    Crimson letters.

A [Super Enhanced] fist struck the [Iron Golem]’s solar plexus.

The principle of the [Heavenly Destruction Fist], which transmits the impact to the inside of the touched opponent, caused a strong shockwave inside the [Iron Golem].

The impact of the [Heavenly Destruction Fist], wrapped in relentlessly bubbling Magical Power, couldn’t damage the steel body, but it directly delivered damage to the [Iron Golem]’s core.

It froze and shattered all the anti-magic power prepared in the [Iron Golem].

The [Iron Golem] faltered, and soon the connecting parts were released, collapsing with a crash.

    ‘Weak.’

It was just that Chun Yura was strong,

Perhaps because she had fought her right before this, the [Iron Golem] felt particularly weak.

Standing on top of the [Iron Golem], she looked back at the Demonic Cultists, who screamed “Eek!” and ran away. They realized that they were no match for her after the [Iron Golem]’s death.

“There’s Dungeon Loot left, aren’t you going to fight?”

‘Who would want to fight when they see you?’

    Cappuccino approached.

She was being protected from the heat by magic.

‘More than that, release your Magical Power. Slowly, so you don’t die. Release it slowly while healing. Otherwise, you’ll either melt or freeze to death.’

“Even if I freeze to death, will they call me Ice Americano?”

‘This is no time for jokes! If you die, I’ll be left here alone.’

    Ah, that’s right.

    That wouldn’t do.

    She obediently received treatment.

As she was being treated, she looked at her condition and saw that her face was flushed red.

When the flames died down, she took out a robe from her Inventory and wrapped it around her body.

The Dungeon was an alchemist’s Dungeon.

Entering the room that the [Iron Golem] had been guarding, there was a skeleton.

That was the alchemist himself, the owner of the Dungeon.

Searching through the alchemist’s workshop, she mainly took the Loot she liked.

    Cappuccino set the standard.

    “An elixir?”

There were at least 100 bottles.

She opened one and drank it.

    Her arm grew back. Ooh.

‘Don’t you think it’s a waste? When else are you going to use it if not now?’

    “What does the witch say?”

‘She says you’re using the elixir too carelessly. Ribbit.’

“When else are you going to use it if not now?”

    ‘I guess so.’

Finally, she took the Dungeon Core.

    The Dungeon disappeared.

    Looking back after leaving,

The Dungeon had become an ordinary sinkhole.

Still deep, but just a slightly deep hole.

As the Dungeon Core was removed, the Dungeon’s existence disappeared at the same time.

    Dungeon Break.

She had taken everything she needed, so she didn’t really regret the Dungeon closing.

    Still, that was a shame.

    ‘It’s a shame I couldn’t salvage my smartphone.’

She searched Chun Yura’s [Loot], but she hadn’t dropped her smartphone.

She took a lap around the Orc Village.

    There was no Electrical Signal.

    A dark night.

    A silent night.

    A moonlit midnight.

Americano returned to where Obram was to report the completion of her mission.

    Obram was delighted.

    The Orcs were also delighted.

Thanks to that, they were able to forget that she was feared as the ‘Orc Slaughterer’ and she remember something she had forgotten.

    “Ah, right.”

“Do you need something after all?”

    “No, it’s not that.”

    Obram and the Orcs.

While returning to the Orc Village with them.

Americano talked about the [Orc Elite Warrior]s she had met along the way.

It was impressive that they were with the Demonic Cultists, but were they really traitors?

Or did they get Demonic Cultist collaborators to regain the Orcs’ freedom from the Demonic Cultists?

She imagined, but if that were the case, they wouldn’t have asked for the password.

Obram’s eyes widened as he listened to the story.

    “Orcs!! Is that true?!”

    “Yeah.”

    She nodded.

Hearing the news, he first went quietly to where the Orc Village was, and after arriving, he gathered the warriors and held a meeting.

    Americano also attended, but,

    “Yawn~.”

    She was tired.

She had set her body on fire and her neck had flown off, it was a mess.

She fell asleep during the meeting.

    “Zzz”

    In her fading consciousness,

    Ding.

She heard a message arrival sound.

    I’ll look at it later.

Americano was able to meet a black cat.

For a while, she roamed around using the Orc Village as a base.

She learned that not all Orcs were the same, and each tribe was called by different names.

But Americano couldn’t distinguish the Orcs because they all looked the same.

So, Obram’s Orc tribe, with their own markings and passwords, and Americano also participated in the Orc extermination.

Of course, it was a solo activity.

Without looking at the [Map], she wandered around in all directions, hunting, annihilating, and slaughtering Orcs so that Obram’s tribe could become the masters of the mountain.

She got bored along the way, but,

    What could she do?

She fulfilled her assigned mission responsibly.

    Then she got lost.

    She met a black cat.

    “Meow.”

    “Myaaang.”

Americano imitated the sound of a cat meowing.

    The cat turned its back.

    She followed the cat.

She slowly followed the cat, quietly, with the feet that had been hurriedly moving to hunt Orcs.

It was said that if you followed the black cat, you could reach the temple in the mountain.

    She followed.

    She followed.

    She followed.

The cat looked around as if to say, isn’t it here?, then led her to another place.

The places the cat led her to were able to discover various Orc tribe villages, Goblin villages, Kobold villages, and so on.

She saved the locations in her memory.

I’ll have to exterminate them later.

    ‘No, should I not?’

She was tired of exterminating mobs.

Unless she could create a huge trap like Obram.

‘I don’t think there’s such a trap in those villages.’

    She shook her head.

    She followed the cat.

    “Myaaang.”

    She arrived.

    A small temple was visible.

The temple was neatly organized, considering it was tucked away in the mountains.

As she moved towards the temple, the cat tilted its head and disappeared.

‘I guess it wasn’t a cat raised by a nun?’

That’s why I thought it was leading me here, but I guessed wrong.

    She went to the temple.

    As she approached,

    “Who are you?”

    A woman’s voice.

Turning her head towards the clear and bright voice, there was a nun with a veil.

The nun stood in front of the temple with a cold expression, blocking Americano.

The nun scanned Americano up and down.

    “You must be the Hero.”

    She recognizes me.

Then the conversation will be quick.

Just as she was about to put the words into her mouth.

    Her mouth caused trouble.

    “A, a, that, yes.”

    Her vocal cords trembled.

    She touched her neck.

I’m an Outsider, but this is a bit much.

“Th, that, I heard, that I could, get a Quest, here.”

She tried to calm her words as much as possible, but it didn’t easily correct itself.

“Several Heroes have come here so far, but none have met my expectations.”

    “….”

“Even though they couldn’t overcome the first trial, and everyone gave up, you’re still trying to challenge it?”

    “Yes.”

    She answered concisely.

    “I will, challenge it.”

The nun responded to the Hero’s answer with an expression that didn’t expect anything.

“If that’s what the Hero wants, I can’t stop you.”

    Follow me.

She said, and entered the temple.

“I don’t know how much you’ve heard about the trials, so I’ll explain from the beginning. The trial I’m in charge of is the subjugation of the Ancient Great Devils. Please keep that in mind.”

The nun’s explanation continued at length.

    From ancient history.

To the impact on modern times.

The content was that she had to defeat several Ancient Devils with the force of a final boss.

She solemnly warned that the final boss of the Full Dive at the top of the Tower of Trials would destroy the world, but the Ancient Great Devils would also cause a great destruction no less than that.

“Now is the age of the Great Heroes. Now that there are so many Heroes who have been exempted from death by God. This is the perfect opportunity to subjugate the Ancient Great Devils.”

But even so, the difficulty was too high to make it a main Quest.

The Heroes who had taken it on had all given up and switched to other main Quests.

The Ancient Great Devils were better off as event bosses or side story bosses, but they were too powerful to be main Quest bosses.

The game difficulty would skyrocket too much.

The reward was great, but the return was small compared to the difficulty.

As long as online games include the element of competition, very few Heroes would want to make the Ancient Great Devils their main Quest.

It’s like the ‘difficulty’ you choose when you start the game.

Just as there was little difference in rewards whether you made the game easy or difficult, the nun’s main Quest was close to self-satisfaction, even if there was a difference in rewards.

    And that,

    “Hero.”

    “Yes.”

    “Will you face the trial?”

    “Yes…!”

    It sniped her taste.

Americano wants to play the most difficult difficulty in a realistic game where she doesn’t die.

Just the fact that there is no desperate end called death is like a huge downgrade in difficulty, but to lower the game difficulty even further.

Such a foolish choice is not in her mind.

“Before facing the trial, I will give you a warning.”

    “Wa, warning?”

“If you happen to give up halfway, you will bear a very large penalty.”

    “Pena, lty?”

“The weakening of the Seal is caused by many people giving up halfway. So we have prepared a minimum safety device.”

It seems that many Heroes have given up.

    They’re Heroes, but.

    They’re not brave enough.

“We started implementing it a while ago, but thanks to that, no one is trying to take my trial.”

“Wh, what kind of, penalty is it?”

    The nun said coldly.

“The difficulty of the trial you have chosen will increase by one level.”

    “….”

    Americano opened her information window.

    <Information>

    [Name] [CoffeeAddict]

    [Gender] [Female]

    [Alignment] [Neutral/Chaotic]

    [Class] [Swordsman]

    [Difficulty] [Grand Master]

    Grand Master.

    More than that from here?

    This was the end?

    Wow.

No matter how much it was her, she was afraid of the game becoming more difficult than this.

    She received the trial.

    She gave up the trial.

    “….”

The nun looked at her with a face that said, are you fucking kidding me?
