Quick Leveling
by Afuhfuihgs
The moment I passed through the narrow path, a gigantic tree revealed itself.
It wasn’t just any ordinary tree. The wind around it shimmered with a green light, and brightly glowing spirits flowed along with the wind.
My gaze traveled up the tree, where I could see branches stretching out as if to cover the sky.
Astonished by the tree’s overwhelming size, I lowered my gaze, and once again, a gasp escaped my lips.
Large and small trees intertwined with pure white marble buildings, forming a massive cluster.
Even the small trees were extraordinary. Those were all homes where elves lived.
The world that unfolded after passing through the narrow path was a vast elven city, too large to take in at a single glance.
[World Tree’s Shelter]
I could see the name of the area through the mini-map.
I urged the wolf forward and started walking along the path.
This path I was walking on was also just a part of the massive tree.
As I walked aimlessly, I felt like I was becoming infinitely small.
The wind that had guided the way no longer appeared.
It was as if it was saying that from here on out, I was free to do whatever I wanted.
The quest wasn’t updated either.
Well, what could I do? Deron was an unfriendly game to begin with.
I wandered around the city, trying to recall my vague memories. It was to hammer the locations of various NPCs into my head.
While checking the locations of the NPCs, I accepted every side quest I could get.
I couldn’t afford to consider the efficiency. I just accepted them all indiscriminately.
After a long while, I managed to scour the entire city and collect dozens of side quests.
,Hmm…”
I rode on the wolf’s back, looking up at the massive temple in front of me.
This was the only place I hadn’t been able to enter yet.
But I couldn’t go in. The elven soldiers standing guard in front blocked my way.
Usually, in such cases, raising the affinity with the corresponding race would allow you to enter areas that were previously inaccessible.
It seemed like I needed to increase my affinity with the elven race.
The guild chat was also discussing the whereabouts of the missing main quest.
At this point, it seemed that no user had been able to enter this massive temple yet.
I turned the wolf around and started running.
I planned to start leveling up by completing quests.
Tadak- Tadak- Tadak-
As I left the World Tree’s Shelter, I began to categorize the quests I had received.
Performing gathering-related quests at this time would clearly be a waste of time.
Collecting gathering items with a limited number and long respawn times was better left for later for the sake of my mental health.
Quests that required purchasable types of gathering items could be quickly cleared through the auction house.
This was also a time when gatherers made a lot of money.
The first things to clear were hunting-related quests and item search quests hidden in specific locations.
[Do You Trust a Stranger?]
Find the ring lost in the forest 0/1
[Elf Girl Lucy’s Request]
Deal with the visitors from another world harming the forest’s friends 0/200
[Do You Know the Legendary Windwalker?]
Collect suspicious feathers that can be found in the forest 0/20
These quests were all quests that could have their quest counts raised simultaneously.
I quickly ran out and began to deal with the monsters from another world that were shrouded in purple energy.
From humanoid creatures to unpleasantly shaped mechanical monsters, I took them all down.
As it was a new area, there were many people gathered.
It was while I was diligently continuing to hunt.
,Hey.”
Riding on the wolf, I had just finished dealing with a warrior from another world while running at high speed.
At first, I didn’t even realize they were calling me.
,Hey!”
At the loud shout, I slightly turned my head and looked back, and a human priest user with a flushed face was staring at me.
What could they possibly want? I tilted my head and replied.
,What?”
,Can’t you see this is our spot?”
,Spot?”
,Yes. We’ve been hunting in the same area for a while now, and you’ve messed up the respawn cycle.”
To hear about claiming a spot in Deron was a word I hadn’t heard in a long time.
I narrowed my eyes and examined the human priest’s guild.
[Arsha]
A guild I had never heard of. A guild I had never even seen before.
It was either a guild for attendance checks that didn’t participate in the faction war or a newly formed guild.
I glanced behind me, and a group that seemed to be the priest user’s party was approaching.
They were also users belonging to the Arsha guild.
They all had slightly uncomfortable expressions.
And they all seemed to not know me.
Could they be newbies?
It seemed that some of the users who had joined through the jump event had successfully settled in.
This changed things.
I lowered my head and turned around.
,I’m sorry. Have fun playing the game.”
,Oh, uh? Yes…? Yes…”
The priest user seemed a little flustered, as if they hadn’t expected me to apologize so easily.
If they weren’t newbies, I might have dragged monsters over and killed those who were claiming the spot.
I left the spot with the wolf.
While running with the wolf, I searched for the guild information.
Arsha.
The guild level was 1, and the number of members was, as expected, only 4.
It seemed like they had started Deron with their friends.
For some reason, I started laughing.
How cute.
My mobility on the wolf was faster than any other user.
Although the hunting speed was slower than the Hwarang who rode horses and shot guns, it was still among the top tier.
,Iyaaah!”
I swung my sword along with the wolf’s jump. The rapidly launched body cleanly bisected the last monster.

I had achieved the conditions for the quests I had placed at the front.
But I didn’t immediately run off to clear them.
I pulled up the other quests that were buried at the bottom.
Clearing them all at once would minimize unnecessary movement.
The next place I arrived at was a spot where elite monsters spawned periodically.
Many users were already waiting in line in front of it.
I frowned. Usually, these elite monster hunting quests gave a lot of experience and special rewards.
I couldn’t give up.
What to do, what to do.
I rode the wolf around in circles, lost in thought.
I looked around diligently. I wanted to somehow cut in line and catch the monster.
If I were an archer, I would have tried to snipe it while hiding, but that was impossible due to my class as a warrior.
,Oh, it’s Blood Demon King-nim!”
,It’s Blood Demon King!”
,He’s riding a puppy!”
It seemed I had stayed in one place for too long.
The users who were waiting in line turned around and shouted.
,It’s not a puppy, it’s a wolf, you know?”
I was used to being teased, but I couldn’t stand them insulting my awesome wolf.
I glared at the user who called my wolf a puppy and left the spot.
It seemed like I would have to deal with this quest later.
As I was thinking that and moving away, a familiar human user was running towards me from far away.
A crazy murderer wearing a mask. It was Melvin.
He was startled when he found me and abruptly changed direction.
That guy avoided me whenever he saw me, even though it wasn’t a special PVP area.
Melvin wasn’t alone.
Numerous elite monsters were following behind him, and they all started to make a wide turn to avoid me, following Melvin.
I sat blankly on the wolf’s back and watched what Melvin was doing.
Melvin made a wide turn towards the place where the elite monsters spawned, threw a smoke bomb, and jumped inside.
The users who were waiting in line were startled and began to retreat out of the smoke bomb.
At that moment, the elite monsters that were following behind began to swarm the place.
,What, what is this!”
It was a sudden monster invasion that no one had expected. The users were greatly flustered and began to take out their weapons and fight back.
I narrowed my eyes and glared at Melvin.
He lay flat on the ground, used a stealth skill, and quietly disappeared.
I knew that guy wasn’t right in the head, but I didn’t expect him to try such a bad thing without any hesitation.
I urged the wolf forward and ran towards the place where the elite monsters spawned.
Bang! Clang! Chaeng!
The line waiting for the quest monster to respawn was a mess because of the chaotic battle between the elite monsters and the users.
Melvin was also aiming for the quest monster.
I urged the wolf forward and approached the place where he was hiding.
I could tell where he was because of the faint sound of his footsteps.
,Hey.”
,Go away.”
,You’re really bad.”
,Ah, go away.”
,Did you think you wouldn’t get caught?”
,Ah, just go away.”
At that moment, while I was confronting the invisible Melvin, the quest target, the elite monster, respawned right next to us.
,Ah-“
I urged the wolf forward and blocked Melvin’s path.
Even if he used stealth and moved, I could block his path because of the sound of his footsteps.
,Ah, move aside, you crazy bitch.”
I shook my head.
Then, the next moment, a party invitation message popped up in front of my eyes.
,Accept it quickly. Before the others notice.”
This, this guy.
Does he think I’m doing this because I’m greedy for a mere quest monster?
I looked around and sized up the situation.
Everyone was busy beating up the elite monsters that had invaded this place, so it seemed they hadn’t noticed that the quest monster had respawned.
But it was only a matter of time before they noticed.
,Hmm, hmm… I can’t help it. I’ll help you a little.”
I accepted Melvin’s party invitation.
Then, Melvin, who had been hiding, revealed himself in front of my eyes.
He confirmed that I had accepted the party and immediately jumped out, plunging his blade into the quest monster’s neck.
Kwajik! Kwajik! Kwak! Kwak! Kwak! Kwak!
The number of attacks that pierced the monster’s neck in a short moment was 6.
,Thousand Flow Blood Slaughtering Strike…!”
The quest monster, struck by Melvin’s attack, couldn’t make a sound and collapsed.
Th, Thousand Flow… what?
I blankly opened my mouth at his absurd skill name.
At that moment, the quest was counted.
,Don’t go around telling peopleㅡ”
Melvin left those words and quietly left this place after disbanding the party.
I also completed the quest, so I carefully left the spot with the wolf.
Left alone, I slowly savored Melvin’s skill name.
Thousand Flow Blood Slaughtering Strike. Did rogues have such a skill?
I hurriedly wrote a message to Iyap.
Yeon-[Iyap-nim, is there a skill called Thousand Flow Blood Slaughtering Strike among the rogue skills?]
Iyap-[Guild Leader-nim, have you been reading martial arts novels again? There’s no such skill in Deron.]
Yeon-[Is that so? I saw a strange person earlier.]
I nodded at Iyap’s answer.
As expected, Melvin wasn’t normal.
