One Week Until the Guild Meetup
by Afuhfuihgs
Roughly one week remains until the guild meetup.
So, what should I do until then? I should prepare for the next season’s update.
Judging from the update direction of LORE so far, a new season doesn’t immediately release a raid upon updating; instead, the story and quests come out first, and then the raid comes in the subsequent update.
LORE gives titles that can only be obtained by the top 1-10 rankers when clearing a raid. I really like that and want to get one, but I don’t think it’ll be easy in this season’s raid.
First of all, I don’t even have the final equipment of the current season, so it’s even harder, and in that situation, it’s a bit much to pull guild members aiming for the first clear run to my side.
For now, I should recruit guild members who aren’t aiming for the first clear run but will try hard.
Before that, the raid comes out at least two weeks after the story is updated, so I should probably push through all the LORE stories that have been released so far.
That way, I can push through the story that updates next Thursday.
The story progression of LORE is currently like this.
From level 1 to level 60, you become a rookie adventurer in the continent of Perde and work hard.
Upon reaching the level 60 level cap, you go to Ardea, the largest country in the Perde continent, and while working as an adventurer, you find a strange cave and discover a new area through the entrance to the Abyss there.
From the Abyss entrance you found, terrifying monsters crawl out, and you move to stop them.
All the current raids are stories about catching the Abyss bosses.
This season’s update is the last season update of the expansion pack, so the raid boss that comes out is said to be the final boss of the Abyss.
Looking back at the stories I’ve done so far, there weren’t any that made my heart race or were particularly thrilling, but when I’m doing the story, it’s really fun.
Is it because this is a virtual reality game? When I watch the story, the immersion is on a completely different level than watching a movie, drama, manga, or anime, and my heart pounds.
The story I need to see now is the part where I explore what kind of world the Abyss is after catching the Abyss boss at the Abyss entrance.
The starting point of the quest was the Abyss entrance.
The content was to join up with the NPC who had been progressing with me until now at the Abyss entrance.
As soon as I moved to the Abyss entrance, I looked around, observing my surroundings as I walked.
The scenery, similar to the Yuuni Salt Flats that I had wanted to visit once before, never fails to impress me every time I see it.
It has a subtle reddish hue like a sunset, and countless stars are visible in the sky, which are reflected like a mirror due to the water gently spread on the ground.
So, I feel like I’m walking in the middle of the universe, and it’s even mesmerizing.
,Arang-nim, have you arrived?
My mage companion greeted me with a smile.
,Yeah, I’m here.
,Welcome, I’ve been waiting for you.
My tank companion said, hitting his shield with his sword.
What’s amazing about LORE is that the jobs of the companions change according to the job progressing through the story, so it’s quite convenient because you can always match a tank-dealer-dealer-healer combination.
Moreover, is it because it’s the future? The AI is so advanced that there’s nothing awkward at all, as if you’re talking to real people. So, I don’t just think of them as NPCs, but as companions.
[Explore the Abyss Zone]
Exploration Rate 50% Achieved 1/50%
After receiving a buff from my healer companion, I slowly walked and explored the Abyss Zone.
The early part of the Abyss seems to be just a plain.
Looking at the form alone, ordinary plants are widely spread, but the color is black, so it doesn’t seem like normal plants.
While exploring the surroundings like that and raising the exploration rate, something crawled up from under the ground.
It was obviously an Abyss Zone monster.
It looked like a maggot, but tree roots were attached to it like centipede legs, and I just involuntarily gagged.
‘Isn’t it too gross…?!’
It was the first time I had trouble looking at something to the point where I wondered if LORE was really rated for 15-year-olds.
If I had just seen it on a monitor, I would have been okay with it, but because it’s a virtual world, the disgust was doubled.
Moreover, it was so realistic that the tree root legs looked like they were about 20 in number, and I got goosebumps when they moved with a rustling sound.
Not wanting to get close, I used a throwing skill that I only use in PVP and threw my Taseum Sword at the monster.
Peo-uck!
,Kkieeeeeeek!
Because my equipment level is far higher than the current story quest, I naturally thought the maggot centipede monster would die in one hit, but it remained perfectly fine.
But when I looked at the maggot centipede’s HP, it was 0. It was dead.
,What, why isn’t the corpse disappearing?
This is bad. I have to go pick up my Taseum Sword, but the corpse remains as it is. Moreover, I don’t know why the blood is annoyingly green.
I groaned and approached the maggot centipede.
Ugh… they made this too realistic. As I pulled out my beloved sword, the Taseum Sword, which was stuck in the maggot centipede, the maggot centipede’s green blood stuck to it in a sticky manner.
,Ah…
Even though it’s my favorite Taseum Sword, the state of the Taseum Sword was so terrible that I wanted to throw the sword away immediately the moment I saw it.
But the reason why this monster’s corpse isn’t disappearing like a normal monster… could it be…
Ttiriring.

Exploration Rate 50% Achieved 25/50%
Check the Suspicious Monster Corpse
Ah… please…!
,It’s a monster I’ve never seen before. Let’s check it out.
At the healer’s words, all the companions gathered around the maggot centipede.
I want to go somewhere else immediately, but I had to see it for the sake of the story.
I covered my eyes with my hands and waited for the story to pass, and when I heard the alarm, I opened my eyes.
[Explore the Abyss Zone]
Exploration Rate 50% Achieved 50/50%
I nodded at the exploration percentage that rose in an instant. It was a bit shitty, but it’s enough since it filled half at once.
As soon as I achieved a 50% exploration rate, the quest was updated.
[Explore the Abyss Zone]
Find a place to serve as a temporary base.
I walked hard to the area where I had to make a base, but the monsters that appeared each time were all disgusting.
Somehow, I wandered around, dealing with monsters here and there, and found an empty lot without even plants. I set up a temporary tent there and made it a base.
After that, I cleared the Abyss Zone quest only after connecting the city and the portal.
After clearing that quest, the remaining quests were all dialogue quests, so they passed by quickly.
After creating a base in the Abyss area, I continued exploring the Abyss monsters and confirmed that the Abyss monsters were nesting and living in specific areas, and those nests were each of the past raids.
Right now, the raids are from the previous season, so it doesn’t matter, and as I continued to destroy the nests, I eventually realized that those nests were all offering to one place, and the place I reached is the season raid boss that will be updated next week.
For now, what I can tell from watching the story is that since all the nests in the current Abyss Zone gather in one place, there’s a high possibility that the raid boss will be a king or queen, but the fact that they’re nests makes it seem likely that they’re insect-type.
So, the queen side has a higher possibility, and I’m a bit curious about what she will look like.
The bosses so far have all been a bit of an eyesore because of the Abyss concept, but if it’s a queen, it’ll either be worse or cool, one of the two.
Honestly, it’s the last raid boss of the expansion pack, so I’m expecting it to come out looking cool.
I’m also curious about what the concept of the next expansion pack will be when this Abyss expansion pack ends, and I hope time passes quickly.
Ttorong.
I opened the chat window at the alarm sound indicating a whisper.
[Arang’s Foot Licker]
ㄴArang-nim, Arang-nim. Are your hands and feet usually cold, Arang-nim?
Hmm… since they’re prosthetic hands and feet, they’re very cold.
[Lee Arang]
ㄴYes. They’re very cold.
[Arang’s Foot Licker]
ㄴAh!? I understand!
What, why did he ask?
My hands and feet are usually cold.
Even if I think of them as prosthetic hands and feet and say it, they’re cold, and if I say they’re not there, there’s no temperature, so it’s accurate to express it as cold.
I don’t know what he’s going to do, but I have a feeling that Foot Licker asked because he’s trying to do something, but I don’t think I’ll need it.
Speaking of the meetup, I’m worried about what to do and play with Arang’s Foot Licker when we meet.
Should I look for a board game that two people can play?
Still, times have changed a lot, so wouldn’t there be amazing high-tech board games with holograms and stuff?
It would be really fun if there was something like the chess that came out in the wizard movie a long time ago.

Kwon Miae had already finished farming this season’s raid and even finished preparing for the next season, so she had nothing to do right now.
So, instead of logging into LORE and doing something, she was preparing for the meetup with Arang that would be held next week.
While worrying about what she could prepare for Arang, who is hospitalized, she decided to prepare pretty gloves and socks in preparation for winter, even though it’s summer.
Pretty socks that match pretty shoes. And even gloves to protect her small and stubby hands.
Kwon Miae, who was full of preparations to meet Arang, hoped that next Thursday would come quickly.
,They’ll definitely look good on you!
