Chapter Index

    One day before moving

    One day before moving.

A week before moving, I had a lot of things to do.

First, I had to talk about the move again to my parents and other elders, and get their permission.

My father had no say, so that was skipped, but my mother didn’t object much either, so it passed easily.

However, when I gave her the real estate information for the house we were moving to, I couldn’t help but have her suspect, ‘Isn’t this a scam?’

Ji-hye and I also looked at it and wondered, ‘Is this really not a scam?’ so there was no way my parents would just let it go.

Only after confirming the property and contacting the real estate agent directly were they relieved, and they earnestly told me to contact them often.

My mother was very worried about Ju-a.

She said that if that father of hers neglected her like that, wouldn’t she be losing her closest family if she didn’t go with us?

She told us to take care of Ju-a no matter what, and Ji-hye and I agreed.

We’re the ones who’ve seen her more than her father, so who else would take care of her if we didn’t?

Ju-a was happy with my mother’s permission and gathered her things from what used to be my room to prepare for the move.

Eun-ha and Se-a passed on any further questions after hearing that I had received permission.

They were cousins who were related to our house, but not directly related to our family, so they didn’t ask any more questions.

Eun-ha, who still lives at home, agreed with the person in charge to replace her with someone in charge at the Busan branch.

I asked if there was really any difference even if she was in Seoul, but she said that meeting face-to-face was more important than I thought, so I didn’t ask any more questions.

Most of all, it’s a secret that I had to smile bitterly at the current person in charge’s words that I might have to go learn too.

When I asked if it wouldn’t be less efficient if a family member did it directly, they replied that it was easier to scold them because they were family.

They said that even if the person in charge keeps telling them no and getting angry, there’s a limit to scolding someone who’s not family, but it’s easier with family because there’s no limit.

I couldn’t argue with her saying that it would be better for my older brother to scold her next to her, even if she kept telling her no and getting angry every day.

Unable to refute her words, Eun-ha’s matter was concluded with her telling me to meet the person in charge in Busan with Eun-ha after moving.

Se-a’s matter ended with a short sentence: ‘Your cousin oppa will take care of it. Just contact me often.’

I contacted her after a long time, but she didn’t seem angry, but rather said, ‘You’re not guilty,’ so I thought Se-a’s matter would be okay.

The most important thing for Se-a was that she finally decided to open a VR room.

The amount of money she showed me that she had scraped together from views was truly beyond imagination.

I know the videos are watched all over the world, but if she can collect that much, I wondered if I could earn even more by appearing as a supporting actor and just receiving appearance fees.

Ji-hye also allowed me to film videos, but she made it clear that I should find a job if I wasn’t the main focus of the videos.

She meant that she wouldn’t recognize it if it wasn’t a real job, but I asked her because I thought I could earn more than most people just by freeloading off Se-a’s appearances.

The answer I got was, ‘Do you want to die?’ so I didn’t say anything more. I had to watch her after I said it because she glared at me as if she was going to grind me to dust if I asked one more time.

But it wasn’t just pressure to get a job right away. She even advised me that if that’s the case, it wouldn’t be too late to work another job while appearing in Se-a’s videos to increase my recognition, and then switch to being a video uploader.

Se-a is already doing well, but I’m starting from the bottom, so she meant that I should steadily climb up.

When I tried to argue with her saying that I should go see Eun-ha and the editor first after signing the contract for the house, she smiled, showing her white teeth.

It was hard to say no to that face, so I promised, ‘I won’t definitely do it, but I’ll go meet them.’

It’s better to see them in person and talk to them than to lie about getting a job recklessly.

Back to the main point, luck continued to follow when opening the VR room.

There was a small three-story commercial building near our house, and it was listed for sale at the real estate agency where we were trying to buy a house, so she bought the building.

I can only call her stupid, but when she showed us the data she had organized in her own way, we couldn’t help but say, ‘Not bad?’

It was about the same price as the house, and she said she would take care of it because there was a steady rent that would at least allow her to maintain the building, so I had nothing more to say.

I agreed with Ji-hye’s words, ‘She said she’ll do it with her own money…’ and Se-a is going to become a building owner before we know it.

We spent the remaining time buying furniture to put in the house.

I was going to go quietly because Ji-hye didn’t think she could take a vacation, but the CEO said that she should definitely take time off to move and gave her a big vacation of about a month.

I wondered what kind of CEO he was, but I couldn’t say anything since he was giving her a vacation, so I was able to go with Ji-hye.

We put a lot of furniture in the house we were moving to in advance and finished the contract.

In fact, all that was left was to move the items in the house to the house we were moving to, and even then, I had already hired a moving company and asked them with a generous tip, so they immediately accepted.

    The night before moving.

Ji-hye and I lay side by side, quietly staring at the ceiling.

It was a silence where there was nothing to say, and if I tried to make something up, I felt like I would get an earful.

    “Are you asleep?”

With Ji-hye’s short words in the silence, my answer came out and the silence disappeared.

    “No, I’m not.”

    “We’re moving tomorrow.”

“Yeah… I never thought I’d be moving from here.”

“Aren’t you worried? Starting in a new area.”

As if we had made a promise, we turned our heads to look at each other, and laughter burst out without saying anything else.

After laughing at each other for a while, I reached out my arm and hugged Ji-hye first, and Ji-hye silently accepted my hand and hugged me.

“It’s not like we’re leaving after committing a crime… or is it a crime?”

“Are you running away here after doing something wrong? What did you do wrong without me knowing?”

“…No, uh, um… It feels like I’m messing with my younger sisters and running away?”

“That’s been a problem since you messed with me in the first place.”

“If you say that, it’ll all be cut off with that one thing…”

I had nothing to say if she pointed out the starting point.

Our relationship started from an abnormal relationship and has come this far, so what can I say if she points out that abnormal behavior?

Ji-hye laughed as if she found my embarrassment funny.

“I know. You’re just trying to tease me, why are you reacting so much?”

“Then should I say something like, ‘Do you want to die at the hands of your younger sister?'”

“You used to say that. Well, not anymore.”

    Chok-

She made a sound as she kissed my chin.

“It’s different from then, so I’ll get angry if you say that now.”

“You tease me all you want, but you tell me not to when I do it.”

She stuck out her tongue slightly and acted cute, but it didn’t work.

I hugged Ji-hye even tighter because of her personality that doesn’t forgive double standards.

“It’s suffocating when you hug me this tight.”

“It’s a punishment, so just take it.”

“You’re such a pain, are you really going to sleep like this?”

“Try sleeping if you can. How do you know what’s going to happen when you sleep?”

“What are you going to do?”

She moved in my arms and rubbed her body lightly.

I could feel Ji-hye’s warm and soft body length.

I felt this touch without saying anything, and Ji-hye whispered lightly.

    “I… love you…”

Perhaps she still hadn’t gotten used to saying ‘I love you’, she couldn’t manage to hide her face, which turned bright red even as she said it.

Of course, my answer was already decided.

    “I love you too.”

    “You really love me, right?”

“I can prove it, as long as it’s not something like proving it with my body.”

“Why not with your body? Are you saying you don’t want to sleep with me anymore?”

I almost said ‘you dumbass’ but I held it in.

Of course, there’s no good that can come from wasting energy today when we’re moving tomorrow.

“Don’t forget we’re moving tomorrow. Isn’t it enough to do it after we move?”

“That’s true. But I was a little suspicious because you haven’t been asking for it lately.”

Huh, suspicious? What’s there to be suspicious about?

“What are you suspicious about, what did I do…?”

“I thought you were sleeping with other girls. I heard oppa’s age is still in his prime, so wouldn’t it be natural since you haven’t been asking to do it lately?”

“It’s enough to do that after the house is stable. Let’s move and unpack everything, okay?”

She looked at me with a disappointed expression, but I firmly stopped her.

No matter how much she clings to me with that expression, moving is moving, and housework is housework.

Even if we love each other, there was no good in wasting energy, so I covered her mouth with a kiss on her forehead.

“No one will care what you do in the room after we move, so do it then…”

“Then promise me, you’ll grant me one request when we get there.”

    “What if I don’t?”

“Do you want to see me make a fuss?”

I quietly hooked my hand on hers at her words spoken with a blank expression.

That blank expression is scarier than when she’s angry or annoyed.

It was such a scary face that I could really get scared and run away if I saw that face on the street.

“You should have done that sooner.”

“Don’t ever make that blank expression again, Kim Sun-ho-ssi, I’ll have a heart attack and die if I see it at night.”

“Then please don’t let this expression come out.”

    Chok-

She lightly kissed my neck, as if trying to gloss over it.

It’s really not great that she’s trying to grab my leash no matter what, but I decided to go along with it for now.

I felt like I would lose no matter what I did to Ji-hye, who I had grown to love and hate.
