On the Boat (2)

Title: Complete Guide to the Abyssal Kraken Subjugation Battle (3)

    Author: Lilgirlchang

Content: Continuing from the previous guide.

If you succeeded in wooing Agnes from the last guide, now comes the main event.

Note: This event won’t trigger at all without Agnes, so don’t worry about accidentally triggering the subjugation battle while building affection with other characters through lakeside dates.

If you’ve managed to take Agnes outside after school or on a weekend date, you’re already halfway there.

Be careful with your date route here-if you mess it up, you might miss the Kraken subjugation event despite all your preparations.

There are two main routes to the lakeside promenade:

    1. Have a meal in the commercial district and then head to the lakeside promenade as your second stop.

    2. Gift Agnes a book at the large bookstore in the commercial district and then head to the lakeside promenade as your second stop.

Choose Route 1 for CG collection, Route 2 for higher affection gains. If you want both, go for meal → bookstore → lakeside. I only did the meal route since I don’t care about Agnes’ affection.

This is what it looks like when you arrive at the lakeside promenade after your meal. See that circle in the corner of the screenshot? That’s the boat rental.

If you took Route 1 or 2, your affection should be high enough that she’ll agree to a boat date. (Note: If you bring her straight to the lakeside promenade as your first stop, she’ll refuse to board the boat and your affection will drop.)

Pay 3 silver coins to rent a two-person boat and get going.

As you leisurely row around the academy, a few dialogue events will trigger.

Nothing too important, so just answer casually and skip through.

Choices pop up occasionally, but they’re so easy even a monkey could raise affection, so I won’t bother explaining them.

    (Example choice)

Agnes: Do you know what tomato meatball spaghetti and the 4th flame formula have in common?

    1. They’re both made up entirely of curves?

    2. They’re so easy even a monkey could understand them?

    3. …….

The entire conversation is filled with choices like this, and as you can see, there’s only one answer a sane person would pick.

(A sinister sound echoes from somewhere…)

Anyway, after rowing around the lakeside of Knowledge Island for a while, you’ll see this foreshadowing that the Kraken is about to appear.

If you choose “Just go back,” you’ll avoid the battle and end the day. If you choose “Ignore it and proceed,” the Kraken appears and the battle starts.

I’ll continue with the battle strategy tomorrow.

User (175.223): Cutting it off here, huh?

User (223.38): Why won’t you write the battle strategy now!!!

└Lilgirlchang: Got first period tomorrow, gotta sleep. Later.

└└User (223.38): This bastard’s a fashion Luddite. How dare they live a real life?

Guwon Sunae: What kind of book should I gift at the large bookstore to raise affection? Can I just give any book?

└dd: Figure that out yourself. Why do you keep asking for every little thing in every guide?

└Lilgirlchang: Oh, my bad. Forgot to mention. The red books in the Fire Magic section give the most affection. Other magic books are average. The rest are mediocre.

└└Guwon Sunae: Thx thx. Always appreciate your guides. I have OCD about not following guides properly lol.

TrulyAGodlyGame: So this event can’t be triggered with other characters at all? I have a condition where I get seizures if I see tsunderes.

└Lilgirlchang: Haven’t tried it myself, but overseas guides say any character with over 2,000 max mana can do it. But even if you hate tsunderes, you’re not gonna date Orion or the Witch, right? Just accept your fate.

└└TrulyAGodlyGame: Oh, so I can just woo Orion? Got it.

    └└└Lilgirlchang: Dude, wtf???

    └└└User (61.43): Orion is super gay…

    oo: So what’s the choice?!

    └User (39.7): (Agnes trash con)

    └Lilgirlchang: (Agnes ……. con)

On the small boat we impulsively rented and boarded together with Ethan.

In the awkward atmosphere, the boat carrying Ethan and me began moving toward the center of the lake with quiet splashes.

    -Splash. Splash.

    “…Ah, Ethan. There’s a tree behind you.”

    “…Got it.”

On the awkward boat, Ethan rowed while I watched the back and gave directions.

Whether it was the alcohol or not, Ethan’s slightly flushed face gradually moved the boat away from shore toward the center of the lake.

Our bodies were transported to the heart of the vast lake surrounding Knowledge Island.

    “Is this far enough?”

“…Yes, this is good. At this distance, no one will see or hear us.”

Even if someone on Knowledge Island looked our way, they wouldn’t be able to identify Ethan and me now.

Not to mention, there’s no way they could hear our conversation from here.

Ethan’s final stroke slowly parted the water before coming to a stop in the heart of the lake.

Thanks to the calm waves, Ethan and I could face each other in a serious mood without any rocking.

    “Lilith.”

    “Yes, Ethan.”

“Can I finish what I wanted to say earlier?”

“…Yes. That’s why we came here.”

I’d hoped the rowing would sober him up and bring back his calm mind.

Unfortunately, it seemed Ethan had already made up his mind today.

Well, it wasn’t the first time I’d almost received a confession from him. We’d had a similar moment by the bonfire before.

Back then, bandits conveniently showed up and let us brush it off, but that wasn’t an option now.

There was no way insane bandits would row out here to rob us.

    ‘…Huh?’

Speaking of which, why do I suddenly feel uneasy after entering this lake?

It feels like I’m forgetting something important about this lake.

    “Lilith.”

    “Ah, yes.”

Just as I tried to recall what I was forgetting, Ethan’s serious voice called me again.

Since it wasn’t coming to me immediately, it probably wasn’t that important, so I focused on the conversation.

“Honestly, this might sound sudden to you, Lilith.”

    “…Yes, Ethan.”

“But I feel like I need to tell you how I feel at least once. At the very least, I want to express that I like you.”

    …It’s finally happening.

I’d hoped this wouldn’t come up, but it seemed there was no running away now.

Not that I planned to run in the first place.

    “Lilith.”

    “Yes, Ethan.”

“Remember when I asked you what kind of guy you like, and what you said?”

“…You mean when I told you I don’t have a type I like, but I do have types I dislike?”

    “…Yeah. You remember.”

    …Well, how could I forget?

Back then, my negative feelings toward Ethan were at their peak, and I despised everything about him.

Looking back, that was probably the turning point.

When Ethan stopped bothering me and started genuinely changing as a person.

“You said you hate dirty people, short guys with flabby bodies, lazy narcissists…”

    “……”

“And, uh, people who poke butts and laugh right in front of you, the worst kind of sexual harasser, the scum of all men…”

    “……”

“Back then, you were saying all that to me, weren’t you?”

    “……”

“Be honest with me, Lilith. I won’t get mad.”

    “…To be honest, yes.”

…Well, Ethan probably already guessed. Lying now would only hurt his trust.

I knew Ethan wasn’t the type to throw the past in my face.

“Compared to me back then, how am I now?”

    “Huh?”

“You said you hate dirty people, so I learned proper etiquette. You said you hate short, flabby, lazy guys, so I trained daily with my father in swordsmanship.”

    “…I see.”

“And, uh, because I thought you’d hate it, I never touched you even when we shared a bed. Except when you initiated…”

“…It’s fine. That was something I allowed as compensation, so it’s not harassment.”

    “Y-yeah… Right…”

    Honestly, I’d vaguely noticed.

How Ethan, once known as the Pig Prince, was growing in a completely different direction from his game counterpart.

There was only one difference between the game’s Ethan and this world’s Ethan.

And now, hearing it directly from him, I could finally be sure.

The one who changed the Pig Prince Ethan wasn’t anyone else-it was “me.”

“Is there still something lacking? Is my height still a problem?”

“…No. Your height isn’t an issue for me now. You’re at least a little taller than me.”

    “T-then…!”

    “……”

“J-just maybe, if you have even the slightest romantic feelings for me…”

    “……”

    “C-could we… be in a romantic relationship?”

Surrounded by water. With two oars in Ethan’s hands.

There was no running away anymore.

It was time to face Ethan’s passionate feelings head-on.
