Once you pass through the territory and enter the mansion, the battle starts immediately.
You’ll probably start fighting infected guards as soon as you enter the building, so Lilith is essential for buffs and curse removal. If you don’t have Lilith yet, bring Orion at least.
If you include either Lilith or Orion, you’ll have one slot open besides the basic members, and since there are a lot of monsters, it’s good to fill that slot with someone who has area-of-effect skills, like Agnes.
But I’m a Natalie fan, so I just brought Natalie in. She’s pretty useful in mid-boss battles too.

Once you enter the mansion, there’s nothing on the first floor, and one of your companions will suggest checking the second floor first.
Get the mansion map from the second-floor study, and get the August Family Secret Book from the third-floor office.
Once you get the August Family Secret Book, the ‘August Cipher Decryption Method’ will automatically appear. Use that to decipher the inscription on the map you got from the second floor, and it will reveal the way to the secret underground prison and how to obtain the key. (The key drops randomly when you defeat guards on the 2nd-3rd floors.)

Now, once you enter the basement, Sword Demon Karaham is right at the entrance. He’s fully demonized and quite strong.
If you brought Natalie like I did, you can easily finish it by protecting her and fighting around her. If you don’t have Natalie, alternate between the protagonist and Lilith to tank and dish out damage. Since he’s a mid-boss, you should be able to defeat him with most combinations.
By the way, he drops a pendant when defeated. If you give it to a mage, their maximum mana increases slightly; for others, it’s just decorative.

After defeating Karaham, you’ll enter the underground prison section. If you open the prison doors with the key you just got and proceed while looting….

175.223: This walkthrough is awesome.
Anon: Keep writing the walkthroughs. Last time, I barely managed to get Lilith with your walkthrough, and the game became super easy lol.
└223.38: For real.
└Lilgirlchang: While I’m doing my 25th playthrough, I’m writing this to keep a record, but I don’t know how long I’ll keep writing.
└└Anon: WTF, how do you even do 25 playthroughs? Do you even have a life?
Guwon Sunae: I can’t find the Secret Book in the 3rd-floor office. Can you tell me exactly where it is?
└Lilgirlchang: It should appear if you search the bookshelf with black books.
└└Guwon Sunae: Oh, for real. I thought only red books had special effects and searched those, but black books have interactions too. Found it, thanks thanks.
This is truly a god-tier game: I got the pendant, who’s the person inside?
└Lilgirlchang: It’s Lizzie, I think? As far as I know, she’s the one who died after getting caught in a monster wave during an Imperial event. About a year before Academy enrollment, I think.
└└This is truly a god-tier game: Ah, so that’s why when Seraphine was rescued and rambling about something, she mentioned Lizzie. She was going on about it being her responsibility or something.
39.7: I don’t want to save that annoying bitch Seraphine, can’t I just skip saving her?
└oo: (I’m pretty, aren’t I! image)
└Lilgirlchang: I tried everything, but it didn’t work.

Sword Demon Karaham.
The mid-boss of the ‘Seraphine’s Abduction’ episode, which is part of the Part 3 episodes of 『Luminor Academy』.
Looking at the work as a whole, he isn’t a character who significantly interferes with the story, but no matter how you try to avoid him, he’s a character you’re bound to encounter at least once.
As I mentioned before, he is the mid-boss of the ‘Seraphine’s Abduction’ episode, and any Seraphine-related episode in 『Luminor Academy』 could be considered a mandatory episode.
His combat power is quite strong, as befits a mid-boss of Part 3. He was at least stronger than Ethan, the mid-boss of the Part 2 episode.
Of course, this is without considering the growth of the characters in the story over time, so it would be a bit difficult to objectively gauge their combat power if they were to fight.
…Well, in Ethan and Karaham’s case, even considering that, Ethan would naturally get thrashed.
Oh, by the way, I’m talking about the ‘Bad Ending’ Ethan from the game. Not the Ethan currently next to me.
From the start, the ‘Bad Ending’ Ethan, who was the mid-boss of the Part 2 episode, was a mid-boss who had Lilith as his assistant, so naturally, if you compare their individual combat power, he was bound to be inferior in many ways.
In contrast, Karaham, the mid-boss of the Part 3 episode, fights alone, and on top of that, he’s a character who underwent demonization with demon blood serum, so their combat power isn’t really comparable.
‘Still…’
If I compare Ethan and Karaham at this point in time, it would be a bit difficult to be certain who would win.
Over the past year, Ethan has truly undergone grueling training and begun to master the sword.
If I occasionally peek at his training these days, it seems he can sufficiently handle his vital energy.
If he also adds the Blackwood family’s bloodline magic, his combat power would become far stronger than what I’ve seen.
And as for Karaham, whose physical abilities were simply overwhelming even before entering the Academy, there’s nothing more to say.
While he did have some behaviors that showed a slight loss in intelligence proportional to his increased physical abilities, his pure combat power was certainly not to be underestimated.
In any case, the fact that he retained his sanity even after completing his demonization with demon blood serum itself signified the strength of the human within him.
And seeing Karaham suddenly call that woman ‘Lizzie nuna-nim’, that woman’s true identity is probably….
“…Lizzie Lynn August.”
Flinch.
At the words that inadvertently slipped from my mouth, the Lady unconsciously trembled slightly.
Seeing that reaction, there was no doubt. That character was definitely Lizzie Lynn August, the Lady of the August Family.
‘She was a character who had already died in the story, so I had forgotten about her….’
I thought I knew all the notable figures of the August Family, but I never imagined I’d meet a character who was already dead in the game’s story.
Come to think of it, she was always a recurring character in August-related episodes.
Although she didn’t appear directly, the decisive catalyst for the August Family betraying the Empire and joining hands with the Demon Tribe was Lizzie’s death.
Even if she didn’t appear directly in the game, she was a character I had heard a lot about indirectly.
‘Indeed, even in the game, you could confirm her appearance through portraits or pendants.’
It was highly likely that the reason she remained vaguely in my memory was precisely for this reason.
Indeed, a noble character with this kind of presence couldn’t possibly have had no impact on the main story.
By the way, to recognize a notable figure at a glance even while they’re wearing a mask. Even after three and a half years since coming to this world, my gamer’s eye is still sharp.
“Wh-what are you talking about…?”
“……?”
“Li-Lizzie what…? Wh-who is that…? I don’t know anyone like that…?”
“……Nuna-nim?”
“Nu-nuna-nim, you say…. I, I don’t recall having a younger brother like you…. Uh….”
…Truly, it was a struggle so pathetic it was almost pitiful to watch.
To try and hide her identity no matter what, even pretending not to know her own younger brother.
Even though her identity was already exposed, her efforts to somehow gloss over it were regrettable, but not only I, but Ethan too, seemed to have roughly grasped the situation.
…Moreover, because of her younger brother Karaham, that half-hearted act wouldn’t last long.
Before Karaham fell and became ‘Sword Demon Karaham’.
The title attached to him in his human state was precisely ‘Clueless Karaham’.
“Nu-nuna-nim! What on earth are you saying! How can you not recognize me!”
“Q-quiet…. F-first, just quietly follow me outside….”
“It’s me, Karaham! Karham Samuel August! Aren’t I your one and only twin younger brother, Lizzie nuna-nim!”
“Ah, ah…! P-please just shut your mouth…!”
At Karaham’s self-introduction, which he started blurting out almost like a rampage, Lizzie’s seal finally broke.
Ethan, who had been watching the two of them in their comedic routine, quietly opened his mouth and asked Lizzie.
“I see. Indeed, if she is the young lady of the House of August, the Border Count, she would certainly be able to challenge the prestige of the Blackwood Family.”
“Ah, no…! We are merely an insignificant family from the frontier…!”
“That’s right! It’s only natural that our August Family, which defends the monster front in the western Empire, is greater than your Black-whatever family!”
“Lizzie… August, is it? It’s been a long time since I’ve set foot in such a place, so I apologize for not recognizing you.”
“She is Lizzie Lynn August nuna-nim! Engrave that into your dull-looking head, you gloomy fellow!”
“P-please just shut your mouth! Karaham, you blockhead bastard…!!”
“Nu-nuna-nim?! Why are you suddenly like this?!”
As soon as he made a boisterous entrance from one side of the banquet hall, he immediately blurted out insults like ‘gloomy fellow’ at Ethan.
It was Karaham, proudly and loudly declaring his and his nuna-nim’s identities with his booming voice.
As the siblings, both of them, started picking a fight with the Blackwood Family, even I was starting to feel dumbfounded.
-Thump!
Suddenly, a sound like a stone being slammed onto the floor echoed through the banquet hall, and when I came to my senses, Karaham’s forehead was already slammed into the floor by Lizzie’s right hand.
“Aargh! Nu-nuna-nim?!”
“Regarding this incident, for the disrespect shown to Ethan Richard Blackwood-nim’s partner, I have no words, even if I had ten mouths. Furthermore, for shamelessly speaking out of turn, I offer my deepest apologies.”
“Nu-nuna-nim?! What are you doing right now?!”
“Regarding the damages caused by this incident, the August Family is fully willing to compensate. We will thoroughly reimburse not only the cost of the dress and repair fees, but also consolation money for ruining your day. Furthermore, I apologize for my disrespectful attitude towards you, Young Lady, for failing to show mutual courtesy and respect….”
“Nuna-nim!! What are you saying right now!! Why on earth should an August kneel before these strange people whose faces we’ve never even seen… Aargh?!”
-THUMP!!!
“You, please just shut up and keep that blockhead of yours slammed into the floor!!”
Since her identity was already completely exposed, Lizzie was now slamming her head into the floor to try and smooth things over, but even that was being hindered by her clueless younger brother.
In the Evening Rose Hall, the sound of Karaham’s hard head hitting the floor echoed several times.
Ethan, who had been quietly listening to Lady August’s apology, muttered a single sentence in a low voice.
“…I don’t think I’m the only one you should be apologizing to.”
“Ah……!”
At those words, she immediately turned her head towards me this time and bowed her head.
Almost the exact same words of apology she had just given to Ethan came out of her mouth once again.
“Due to this incident, I sincerely apologize for daring to damage your dress, Young Lady. The cost of the dress you are wearing and the repair fees will be entirely covered by me and the August Family. Furthermore, I apologize for my disrespectful attitude today, Young Lady, for failing to show mutual courtesy and respect….”
“…It’s fine. I heard it all just now, so you don’t need to say anything more.”
“E-excuse me, but could you please tell me your family name? The August Family would like to directly compensate you at your territory….”
“Uh……”
“Please, I beg of you, Young Lady.”
…This is starting to feel like things are getting more and more troublesome.
What compensation? Even if I were to receive such a thing, it would just flow into the Blackwood Family, so it wouldn’t even be my money in the end.
Besides, there was no family name I could reveal.
What would a commoner Lilith do by revealing her family? Send a surprise delivery to her gambling father?
And if I didn’t show any reaction in this situation, it would look like I was being stubborn and didn’t want to accept the apology.
This kind of woman seemed to have a personality that would cling annoyingly until I accepted her apology.
…Here, I have no choice but to just deflect it appropriately.
“I’ll accept your apology. But you don’t need to worry about compensation.”
“Y-yes?”
“As I said before, the incident just now was simply a mistake we both made. So I will accept your apology for the insult, but let’s not talk about compensation.”
“Ah, ahhh…”
Listening to my words, Lizzie looked at me with an expression as if she were deeply moved.
Anyway, with this, I should be able to avoid a situation where I have to reveal my family name for no reason.
This alone was enough. The annoyance I felt towards Lizzie earlier had completely vanished after seeing her and Karaham’s antics just now.
I got to meet characters from the game for once, so I’ll just consider it an amusing spectacle.
“…If your apology is done, I’d appreciate it if you’d disappear from my sight now.”
“E-excuse us! …Ka-Karaham! Get up quickly!”
“I, I can walk, so please stop pulling my ear, nuna-nim!”
Just like that, Karaham and Lizzie, who had arrived like the wind, disappeared like dew.
In a situation where they had already drawn everyone’s attention in various ways, the two people who caused it left the Evening Rose Hall and vanished outside.
‘Ah.’
Only after the two of them disappeared from sight did I finally realize that there was something I hadn’t managed to tell them.
‘For the next year, they shouldn’t participate in Imperial events. Should I have told them that in advance?’
I don’t really like it when a character I know is dead in the next episode.
Soon, I’ll just send an anonymous letter to the August Family.
