Killing the Lord – 3
by Shini
‘He really turned into a complete cripple.’
That was the first thought that came to mind as soon as I saw the Lord, who was halfway through his demonization. The half-human, half-demon who had been the Lord of this city until just now was squirming unsightly on the floor, face down.
This was precisely why I had intentionally hunted down the undead and collected their flesh to restore the demon’s power. Because only when exactly two pieces of flesh were fed could the situation be concluded without a fight.
If I didn’t restore any of the demon’s power, or only restored one piece of flesh, I would end up in a boss battle with the Lord, who would have fully awakened as a half-human, half-demon by dominating the weakened demon.
Conversely, if I restored three or more pieces of flesh, the Lord would die, unable to withstand the demon’s power, and I would face a boss battle with the demon that had descended to the mortal realm.
The demon’s stats as a boss varied depending on how much flesh the player restored, with the complete form appearing when all 100 pieces were fed.
There was an achievement for awakening the demon to its complete form and then defeating it, but the prerequisite of having a Divine Power stat of 99 just to carry the book with 100 pieces of flesh made even meeting the specs a chore.
‘Anyway, he’s really disgustingly ugly.’
I carefully observed the thing that used to be the Lord, squirming on the floor.
In the game, it just felt like a crude half-and-half mash-up of human and demon, but here, the feeling of human and demon truly merging into one was much stronger.
Its body shape remained the same, with little difference between width and height, but countless scale-like growths had erupted on its bare skin. Its mouth was torn to its ears, revealing sharp fangs.
Its eyes had vertical pupils like a goat, and half-formed horns sprouted from its head. All its limbs were reverse-jointed. The claws on its hands and feet were extremely sharp.
The half-formed wings were a bonus.
“You, youuuu, youuuuuu!!!!!!”
The Lord spewed black blood and glared at me. It seemed to be desperately trying to crawl towards me, but soon buried its head in a pool of blood.
“Why are you acting so unsightly? Your face was already crippled, but now you look like something that can’t even be called a human.”
I grinned and waved my hand. The Lord mumbled incomprehensible words while looking at me, then gurgled and vomited blood again.
From its throat, a gurgling, blood-boiling sound could be heard. It seemed like it wanted to say something, but its throat was filled with blood, preventing it from speaking properly.
“That expression says you can’t possibly understand why you’re in such a state. Hey, if you have a brain, try to think. How can a human control a demon?”
I picked up the book that was still emitting black energy next to the Lord. Unlike that guy, whose mind was immediately corrupted the moment he coveted this book, it was just an ordinary book that had no effect on me.
Firstly, I didn’t particularly covet this, and more importantly, I had already raised my Divine Power to 5 before coming to the mansion. A mere demon that had consumed only two pieces of flesh couldn’t interfere with my mind.
“Now that you look back, doesn’t something seem strange? Your head must have been completely filled with the thought that you absolutely had to summon a demon, no matter what. Even though you knew better than anyone that according to imperial law, anyone involved with demons is immediately sentenced to death, and even royalty is no exception.”
*Thud*, I closed the open book. The black energy that had been flowing out abruptly stopped. The Lord’s squirming subsided slightly.
“Why did you do it? I’ll give you time to think.”
I said that, deliberately paused, then spoke in the most annoying voice possible.
“Ah, there’s nothing to eat here, so your brain won’t work, will it? My mistake. Since I’m sorry, I’ll just tell you the answer. The answer is, ‘Because I lied to you from the very beginning.'”
“……!!!!!!”
The Lord’s eyes, half-corrupted by the demon, widened as he glared at me. So what if he glares? I continued speaking, maintaining my annoying tone.
“That’s just how demons are. Once they’re consumed by desire, only a handful of humans can overcome it. And, there’s no such thing as a demon of lust. What? It gives men infinite virility and makes women climax just by brushing against a man’s clothes? Why would you believe such nonsense? Don’t just use your brain for eating; try to think a little, seriously.”
I thumped the Lord’s head with the book, *thump, thump*. The Lord retched, *guuweek*, and vomited another mouthful of blood. Perhaps because the black energy being absorbed into his body had stopped, it was a little redder than before.
“What, you told him that? And that cripple believed it?”
“Yes. He believed it absolutely.”
They say demons incite desires, but even that power has its limits. They can make someone consumed by desire, but they can’t create desires that weren’t there to begin with.
That’s why I said it would be a clear if I just made the Lord want the book. Once he had even a slight thought of wanting it, the demon residing in the book would take care of the rest.
“That pig bastard must have set my price quite high, so I thought it was a bit strange that I was exchanged for just one book possessed by a demon. So that’s why I was sold to you as a sex slave?”
“No, would it kill you to phrase it a bit more politely?”
“Enough. Can I just kick him once?”
“You can kick him a hundred times, not just once. He can’t move anyway.”
With permission granted that it was safe, Aurora unhesitatingly approached the Lord, who was squirming on the floor, slightly lifted the hem of her dress, and stomped her high heel down hard on his head.
“You idiotic moron. You wanted to screw women that badly? Huh? But you know what, if that’s what you wanted, you should’ve just died and been reborn. Do you know what the women you called over were whispering behind your back? They said you have a tiny dick, you cripple. Did you know they were whispering among themselves that no matter how much you thrust, they didn’t feel anything entering their pussy, only your belly fat jiggling against them? Huh? Did you know?”
‘Good heavens.’
For a moment, I thought my ears were playing tricks on me.
I really couldn’t have imagined Aurora using such words so freely. Since the Lord’s personality had become even more messed up than in the game, she must have been affected by it.
Still, considering she practically grew up alone under such a man, it was fortunate that her personality could still be called relatively normal.
After that, Aurora continued to stomp on the Lord’s head with her high heel, showering him with insults, abuse, and mockery for a long time. After a considerable amount of time passed, she finally took a deep breath, looking refreshed, and smiled brightly.
“Ah, I feel so relieved. From now on, I’ll be able to sleep soundly with my legs stretched out. Wait. What’s with that look? Why are you staring like that?”
“Oh, it’s nothing. I just thought you were amazing in many ways.”
“Ha, I know what you’re thinking, but you try living under a guy like that. It would only take a year for you to become like me, you know? And honestly, I’m holding back a lot. If it weren’t for you, it would be worse. Should I give you an example of what I was going to say?”
“I don’t need such examples, so please maintain some dignity. Why is someone who’s about to become the head of the family using such vulgar language?”
“As you said, I’m the head of the family now, so why can’t I use them?”
The Lord, who had his head buried in the ground after being stomped on, reacted to the mention of “head of the family” and lifted his head. As soon as Aurora saw that, her eyes lit up again.
“Ah, was that your inverse scale just now? But what can I do? It’s all true. You’ll die here, and all your assets will be mine. I’ll thank you for accumulating wealth so well until now. Could it be that you desperately scraped together money to give me even more? To die with all the infamy on your head, and allow me to take only the money and honor? This is a little touching, isn’t it?”
“……!!!!!!”
Upon hearing that mockery, the Lord was on the verge of flipping out. He was desperately flailing his half-reverse-jointed limbs, but there was nothing he could do.
Aurora, having finished speaking, looked at me with a refreshing smile.
“Now that I’ve teased him enough, let’s just kill him. There’s no need to keep looking at such a disgusting thing, is there?”
Her expression and tone didn’t match at all, but regardless, since her original appearance was that of a terribly beautiful woman, there was no sense of incongruity whatsoever.
“Alright, I suppose. What would you like to do next, Aurora-nim? Would you like to watch me kill him, or would you like to step outside for a moment?”
“Of course, I’ll watch from beginning to end. I need to see that pig bastard die with my own two eyes.”
As if the refreshing smile she had shown moments ago was a lie, burning hatred flared in her golden pupils.
I told her to do as she pleased, then pulled out a dagger from my pocket. It was the dagger I had taken from the skeletal priest. Aurora tilted her head when she saw the dagger in my hand.
“What, your weapon was a dagger? You don’t look like someone who’d use one at all.”
“What does someone who doesn’t look like they’d use a dagger look like, exactly? And this isn’t even the weapon I usually use. I brought it to kill that demon.”
“You brought that to kill him?”
“Yes. Demons can never be killed without a weapon imbued with divine power.”
In BD4, only weapons with the modifier ‘blessed’ that dealt divine damage, or divine spells, could damage demons.
To be precise, their health would decrease even if struck with ordinary weapons. It’s just that they would recover all of it as if nothing happened.
Only damage dealt by blessed weapons or divine spells would remain, without being recovered. And the stat requirement to use this dagger was Divine Power 5.
I drew the dagger and approached the Lord, who was squirming hideously on the floor.
“It’s going to hurt enough to kill you, but you can bear it, right?”
*Thrust*, without waiting for an answer, I plunged the dagger into his body.
