Killing the Lord – 2

“That’s right. What if that pig bastard sent you as a spy, or sent you with the intention of trapping me? Why should I trust you?”

I silently waited for Aurora’s words to end. Anyway, all I had to do here was wait patiently until she told me to prove myself later.

Because she herself wanted to trust me. She wanted to trust me and escape this hellish life.

That’s why she desired the player’s words to be true more than anyone else.

In the game, it wasn’t described at all what the Lord’s daughter had gone through, so I just accepted it, but hearing it from the current Aurora, I deeply felt her earnest feelings.

That was Aurora’s own plea. She couldn’t trust me right now, so it was a desperate plea for me to prove myself so she could trust me.

Since she said it herself, it was undoubtedly the truth. Though it was the original NPC who said it, not the current Aurora.

“So, prove it. How can I trust you?”

Aurora came right up to me.

Her long, straight black hair, which extended down her back, contrasted with her softly glowing white skin and swayed, and her golden eyes shone resolutely.

But I didn’t miss that those golden eyes, which seemed incredibly firm at first glance, were trembling slightly.

“That’s right. How should I prove it to you? Would you be able to trust me if I reveal the entire plan of how I can kill the Lord?”

Even in the game, this option was the most stable: sharing the method to kill the Lord.

There was also an option to appeal to emotions, but that required a lot of prior preparation, so I couldn’t use it now.

“……I’ll listen first. If it’s a plausible plan, I’ll accept it.”

Naturally, my eyes, looking up from below, met Aurora’s, looking down from above.

Only then did Aurora seem to realize she was wearing a very revealing outfit. She flinched, her cheeks flushed red, and she sat down demurely beside me with her legs together.

But even so, given the outfit, it was of little use anyway.

“When we first met earlier, that bastard left the reception room holding something in his arms, didn’t he? Do you remember?”

“I remember. He probably traded that for my body.”

“Do you have any guesses as to what kind of item it might be?”

“None at all. It must be a valuable item if he traded it for my body, but it’s impossible to guess beyond that. So, what is it?”

    “It’s a demon-possessed book.”

    “……What?”

    “I said, it’s a demon-possessed book.”

“I didn’t ask again for an answer, so shut your mouth.”

As soon as she heard that, Aurora made a serious expression. Then she fidgeted restlessly, glanced around quickly, and whispered with her voice lowered as much as possible.

“Are you crazy? According to imperial law, just being involved with a demon-“

“Yes, it’s definitely the death penalty.”

And a very painful and cruel one at that.

The real reason I had an absolute advantage in my deal with the Lord lay right here.

If he reported me, I would definitely be arrested and executed, but conversely, the Lord himself wouldn’t even be able to retrieve the book. Because the Emperor himself would wield the holy sword and purify it.

For that bastard, whose mind was eroded the moment he harbored the desire to possess it, and who was crazy with the thought of beating women with demonic power, it must have been something that absolutely could not happen.

    “Then why-“

“Don’t worry. Only that bastard will be involved with the demon. No human here will die, no property in the mansion will be damaged, and no place in the city will be destroyed. We are safe.”

“Are you sure? The Emperor never leaves alive anyone involved with a demon. If we slip up, you and I will both be finished. Are you telling me to risk my life right now?”

“You don’t need to risk your life. It just means you can simply sit still and prepare for the succession to the head of the family.”

    I answered confidently.

“……Seeing you so confident, it seems you have something in mind?”

    Aurora’s voice was skeptical.

“Of course. I merely ‘accidentally’ discovered that book and delivered it to the Lord.”

    “You ‘accidentally’ discovered that…?”

“Yes. I subjugated a monster and found that book. It looked ominous at first glance, so to prevent chaos, I secretly discussed countermeasures with only the Lord, but he took it, saying he’d handle it himself, and then, unable to overcome his greed, he tried to contract with a demon.”

In this case, I would be completely blameless.

Because I had subjugated a monster, and an ominous-looking book appeared, which I brought to discuss how to deal with it. But the Lord sent me back and then secretly tried to contract with a demon, failed by himself, and was devoured, so to speak.

The party who should protest, having been purified after becoming a demon, was gone, so all Aurora and I had to do was conspire and cover up the truth.

If they tried hard enough, they might be able to implicate us. But the Emperor I knew wasn’t the type to do that. Rather, he would treat the Lord as a good-for-nothing idiot and just finish it on his own terms.

In the game, the incident actually ends that way.

“……It’s not an entirely preposterous plan. It bothers me a little that we have to deceive the Emperor, but they won’t deliberately investigate a bastard who died trying to summon a demon, so there’s no fear of being caught.”

“This is the only way for Aurora-nim to safely inherit the position of family head. And the dice have already been cast. Because I will certainly make things happen tonight.”

After hearing my explanation, Aurora let out a laugh as if dumbfounded.

“I’ve thought about selling my soul to a demon if it meant I could kill that pig bastard, but I never thought I’d actually get involved with a demon. Is this why they say you never know what life holds?”

“Aren’t you too young to say you don’t know life?”

“My mind aged much faster than my body due to stress, so it’s fine.”

She tossed out a single remark that sounded like a joke but didn’t feel like one at all, and her golden eyes stared blankly at the ceiling. How much time had passed? Her eyes turned back to me.

“It just occurred to me, even if you have a plan, summoning a demon in the middle of the city is a bit-“

    “It’s fine.”

    “……?”

I cut Aurora off abruptly. A question mark appeared above her head.

“I told you. No one will be hurt, nothing will be broken, and nowhere will be destroyed. Only one human will die.”

No, by the time that bastard dies, he won’t even be human anymore.

    Late at night.

The Lord put away the book and cautiously left the room. He had deliberately told them there was no need for a night patrol today, and just in case, he had the maid put sleeping pills in the food of the servants and attendants.

And that maid was ‘disposed of’ after he received a report that she had completed the task. This sight must never be seen by anyone.

As for the other two, that idiotic rookie knight bastard and Aurora, they were probably too busy entangling their bodies in the mansion’s annex by now. Or they had already enjoyed themselves thoroughly and passed out.

His extremely cautious footsteps headed towards the mansion’s basement. But due to his weight, it sounded like a normal person running.

    “Kuhuhu.”

Uncontrollable laughter leaked from his mouth all the way to the basement.

A demon of lust that gave men infinite virility and made women climax just by touching them. Truly, it was a demon perfectly suited for him.

Of course, he was well aware of the danger of this act. He also knew that if the Emperor heard he was trying to contract with a demon, there wouldn’t even be a family left to exterminate.

But the excuse was sufficient. This was the most remote of the empire’s outskirts. If he just stayed holed up and didn’t go out, that would be enough, and given that bitch’s personality, she wouldn’t call him to the imperial palace first.

If he could make those incredibly arrogant knight commanders his own, it would be more than enough entertainment for the rest of his life. Just the thought of it made his lower half swell up considerably.

The Lord, who had hurried into the basement, locked the door with several layers. The basement was filled with all sorts of sexual torture devices.

In this room, many women had met their end, screaming in pain while crushed under the Lord’s fat, greasy body, and now that list was about to be endlessly updated.

Saliva drooled from the corners of his mouth. As he took out the book he had carefully kept in his arms, the desire to instantly open and read it captivated his mind. The Lord, with bloodshot eyes, untied the string wrapped around the book.

As if his body couldn’t keep up with his urgent desire, his fingers kept getting in the way. Especially that damned pinky finger.

    “Argh! How bothersome!”

Snap! The Lord grabbed his left pinky finger and bent and broke it off. He didn’t even feel any pain. He was only happy that he could see the book faster.

Just seeing the cover with all the strings removed filled him with ecstasy. Saliva dripped down, and unpleasant laughter, “Kuhuhuhu,” leaked from between his lips.

With trembling hands, he opened the book, expecting a lot from the contents inside.

And as soon as he opened the book, black energy that gushed out as if overflowing coiled around the Lord’s body.

    “Huh?”

It was only after that he returned to his senses.

    “Ugh, Uwaaaaaaah!”

The first sensation he felt in his clear head was pain. Tremendous pain rushed in from his left pinky finger, which he had broken off himself, calling it bothersome.

Why, why did I do that? For what reason?

Even while that was happening, the black energy continued to coil around his body. The black energy burrowed into his eyes, filled his ears, crawled into his nose, and choked his mouth. The Lord gagged at the horrible sensation.

    “Kk-Heu-eek?! Kkeuk?!”

His body gradually began to change.

A pair of horns sprouted from his head, and a pair of demon wings covered in membranes grew from his back. Hideous scales began to cover his entire body. His fingernails grew long.

    “No, no!”

The Lord flailed his arms and struggled desperately. His body crashed backward, toppling and shattering the torture devices lined up, but he had no time to care about such things.

    “Kuaaaaaaaah!!!!!!”

His skeleton twisted, his form changed, his limbs contorted, and the sensation of his entire body transforming into something non-human made the Lord let out a horrible scream. It was pain that was terribly, terribly awful.

It hurt. It hurt so much. It hurt so much he felt like he would die. He felt like cursing a god he didn’t even believe in, wondering how such pain could possibly exist.

But with the sole thought of wanting to live, he gritted his teeth and endured.

He didn’t want to die. He wanted to live no matter what. With only the desire to continue his life, even as tears and snot streamed down, he resisted desperately.

His body was no longer his own. Something resembling wings sprouted from his back, horns grew from his head, and the sensation of his feet and arms was also strange. His skin was horrifyingly bumpy.

His skin itched like crazy. When he scratched vigorously, he felt the sensation of sharp fingernails beyond the bumpy scales. The itching didn’t subside at all.

    “Huuuh…… Huuuuh…… Ah?”

    Creak.

Into the ears of the Lord, who was struggling desperately, came the sound of the basement door opening.

How someone could enter when he had clearly locked the door tightly didn’t matter at all. Only the fact that someone had appeared whom he could ask for help mattered.

    “Help me! Help me! He-Kueeeeeeok-!!!!!!”

Blood gushed out of his mouth. It was blood much closer to black than red. Even as he vomited blood and his limbs twisted, because he didn’t want to die, he crawled clumsily towards the voice.

“Ugh, I never imagined it would be this hideous. Is this why you told me to prepare myself?”

“Haha, it’s a bit of an ugly sight, isn’t it?”

“A bit? Do you have no conscience?”

Into the Lord’s ears, he heard the voices of two people conversing with not even a hint of tension.
