It wasn’t a CBT for the sequel

[The World Eater NG+10, No-hit Bare-handed Clear (Darkest Light Mode)]
With this, The Brightest Darkness 4 Darkest Light Mode All Boss No-hit Bare-handed Clear is done.
Everything else was fine, but the lack of a parry meant having to dodge every single attack with rolls, and that fucking sucked the most.

This is possible, what the fuck?
I can’t even follow it with my eyes, why is there someone who can clear this?
Are they seriously crazy? LOLㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
How many hours played? Around 10,000 hours?
Reply: Checking now, hold on.
Reply: I thought they were human, but they were a beast, holy shit.
Reply: The world’s gotten better, even beasts can talk like humans now.
Reply: No way, the game’s only been out for 10 years, and 30,000 hours? Where’s your life?
Reply: This *is* life, why are you looking for it elsewhere?
Reply: ??????
Even vanilla no-hit bare-handed clear is super tough, but Darkest Light Mode no-hit bare-handed is just fucking ridiculousㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Reply: No, you just have to watch carefully and dodge, why can’t you do that?
Reply: Fuck off, you son of a bitch.
As I stretched my back and stretched, a groaning sound, “Eugeugeuk,” escaped my lips. After that, the comment notifications showed no sign of disappearing, but I ignored them all.
I picked up my phone from the desk and threw myself onto the bed. My head sank deep into the blanket. Ignoring the comment notifications piling up in real-time on the top bar, I browsed various overseas communities for The Brightest Darkness.
‘Am I the first to clear Darkest Light Mode no-hit bare-handed?’
‘The Brightest Darkness 4’, commonly known as ‘The Brightest Darkness 4’, the game for which I had just uploaded a video, was celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
To put it nicely, its unique difficulty stimulated a challenging spirit; to put it badly, it was a fucking difficult game, which led to a huge fanbase worldwide, and the 4th installment, in particular, achieved tremendous success.
Thanks to that, the community was teeming with all sorts of hardcore veterans. Most actions weren’t even considered crazy stunts. You had to clear it blindfolded or with your feet for it to be considered anything noteworthy.
Since the original game was already notoriously difficult and insane, and these guys had been stuck on it for 10 years straight, it was only natural.
However, ‘The Darkest Light’ mode, commonly known as ‘Darkest Light Mode’, was fundamentally different.
It was the ultimate enemy-enhancement mod, refining and integrating hundreds of chaotic enemy-enhancement mods into one complete package.
Since its target audience was originally hardcore veterans who had nothing left to do in the game and were pulling off all sorts of crazy stunts, its viciousness was beyond anything one could imagine.
It came out when my playtime was around 10,000 hours, and I got absolutely stomped from the very first boss in the tutorial area, unable to do anything.
There were also a truly disgusting number of patterns that made you think, ‘Was this made to be cleared?’ Especially thanks to all sorts of instant-death attacks, ground-based attacks, and area-of-effect attacks that screamed ‘If you don’t know, you die!’, I swore constantly for a while.
As I painstakingly ground through it, reaching the skill level to achieve a max-difficulty no-hit bare-handed clear, the game’s playtime had already exceeded 30,000 hours.
“What do I do now?”
As the sense of accomplishment faded, a sudden emptiness washed over me. Having achieved what I had set as my life’s goal for several years, I felt as if I had lost my way forward.
‘I wonder when they’ll finally release The Brightest Darkness 5.’
If there had been any information about the release of the 5th installment, I would have at least been able to indulge in some wishful thinking.
The first installment of the game came out 19 years ago, the second 17 years ago, the third 15 years ago, and the fourth 10 years ago, but since then, there had been no news of the 5th installment.
Four years after the 4th installment’s release, they only showed a single 5th installment logo trailer, and then another six years passed, so fans of the series were slowly on the verge of losing their minds, and I was one of them.
Just as I was about to turn off my phone, thinking, ‘Should I just get some sleep and think about it later?’, a different kind of notification chimed in my ear.
Curious, I pulled down the top bar, and above the countless comment notifications, a single email was prominently displayed.
“What is this?”
The preview was filled with English text. It was an email from overseas. As soon as I saw it, my brow furrowed instinctively, wondering if it was spam.
I glanced at the content, and from the start, it was going on and on about “we” this and “we” that, so I was about to just mark it as spam, but then I spotted a single word and stopped.
I immediately tapped the email and reread it carefully from the beginning.
“The Brightest Darkness 5… CBT?”
The email’s content could be summarized as this: they were recruiting participants for The Brightest Darkness 5’s CBT, and asking if I was interested. If so, to click the attached link.
“Huh?!”
I instinctively shot up. The Brightest Darkness 5? Really? Without thinking twice, I was about to click the link as my instincts commanded, but I barely managed to regain my composure and stopped.
My finger, frozen in mid-air, trembled.
“……No, it could be a lie.”
That’s right, there was no guarantee this wasn’t a spam email. If I got tricked and clicked the link without thinking, I could end up fucked.
Calming myself down, I typed on my smartphone with trembling hands to leverage the collective intelligence.
[Hey, I got an email from The Brightest Darkness developers, what is this?]

Just got an email, it’s an invitation for The Brightest Darkness 5’s CBT, but I don’t know if it’s a scam or real, holy shit.

Of course it’s bullshit. All they’ve ever released is a single 15-second trailer, so CBT is fucking ridiculousㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
It’s obviously fake, just delete it and block them.
If you’re gonna believe that, can you co-sign a loan for me too?
? No, you dumbasses, that’s really the official email from the developers.
That’s the correct official email address, check the link.
Reply: Holy shit, it’s legit.
Reply: That’s the official email?????? The Brightest Darkness 5 is finally coming out, holy shit??????
It’s really official.
Reply: But why did *this guy* get a CBT invitation?
Reply: Dunno.
“It’s really The Brightest Darkness developers?”
Skeptical, I cross-referenced the email address, and it was indeed the correct email from the company that developed The Brightest Darkness series.
I even turned on my computer and checked each letter individually, wondering if they were trying to trick me with capitalization, but it was truly the official email.
‘If it’s official, I should apply first and think later. I have nothing to lose. I absolutely have to go for this, seriously.’
With my excitement at its peak, I clicked the link.
And was sucked right into the monitor.
