A guide for climbers who are new to the tower.
The travel destination where I came to get the job of Summoner to bring Janie back to reality.
I have been to this destination twice so far.
Once after completing the first tutorial and changing jobs. Then once again after taking Janie out of the ruined academy.
On my first trip, I started by killing the tutorial fairies and completing feats to earn a bunch of remaining points.
The system of this tower is a little different from that of the ticket, in that each time you climb a floor, your level increases and you gain points that can be invested in abilities.
Aside from climbing the floors, this ‘feat’ was the only way to increase one’s strength.
A way to grow by leveling up without having to climb floors, by accomplishing something worth recording in the history of the tower.
So, even if they are transfers who are climbing the same level, if they have accomplished many feats in the meantime, they can become much stronger than other transfers.
I could see that I belong in this case.
However, when a transferee achieves a feat, it is recorded in an item called a ‘logbook’ and can be viewed by anyone.
So, those who usually check the movements of the strong through the logbook could roughly know how strong each person was. Those who transferred late and entered the tower had little information, but that was something that could be resolved by joining a clan, so it wasn’t a big inconvenience.
It was also registered as a feat that I changed my job and immediately brought Janie with me to find the divine beast and made a contract with Thor, the thunderbird.
To be precise, it would be correct to say that she had sex with an adult Thunderbird, Thor’s parent, and raised the offspring.
Even now when I think about it again, the idea of having sex with a thunderbird still feels a bit strange.
It’s also funny that it was treated as an achievement and recorded in the logbook.
Thanks to this, he briefly earned the ignominious nickname of ‘hairy man’ or ‘sae-bak’.
It was quite an awkward situation, as I couldn’t go around spreading rumors that Thunderbird had turned into a human and had a relationship with him.
It seems that after destroying one clan, the mutterings have completely died down.
In the second trip, I used as much of my knowledge of the original work as possible and the main character, Kim Jae-yoon, to write about his exploits.
Thanks to that, I was able to obtain various titles and their corresponding skills, which I am still using today.
If I organize the titles and skills I have, it would look something like this.
“Title: Rule Breaker
A title given to the person who has killed the fairy of the tutorial alone. The one who killed the fairy that exists to help the transferor and stands alone.
Effect – If there are two or more conditions for the test to advance to the next floor of the tower, you can ignore one of those conditions.
“Title: Goblin Slayer
A title given to those who kill the Hobgoblin, the boss monster on the starting floor.
Effect – Small monsters feel a slight sense of intimidation towards the title’s owner. The effect is doubled against goblins.
“Title: The Man Who Rides the Thunderbird
A title given to the man who conquered the legendary Thunderbird. It can only be obtained when Thunderbird acknowledges the opponent as its companion.
Effect – Resistance to lightning attributes is strengthened. The skill ‘Thunder Call’ can be used three times a day.
“Skill: Thunder Call
You can borrow the power of lightning used by your companion Thunderbird.
“Title: Chief Burim
A title given to a summoner who succeeds in making a contract with a divine being.
Effect – The capacity of the souls that can be contracted increases. The divine beasts become fond of the owner of the title. The deeper the bond between the summoner and the summoner, the more the summoned beast grows. The power of the summoned beast strengthening skills increases.
“Title: Owner of Intuition
A title given to those who uncover and deal with the cause of the monster wave.
Effect – You gain sharp intuition.」
“Title: One-man Fortress
An honorable title given to those who can block waves of monsters alone.
Effect – Gain a bonus to actions for area defense. Intimidates enemies trying to break through the title’s owner.
“Rule Breaker” is a title that can only be used on the Tower, but the others have been quite useful in real life and other travel destinations.
The “owner of intuition” who was quite useful when deducing facts from clues, and the “chief squire” who seemed to have helped the party that made a contract with me awaken their abilities and learn martial arts were such things.
In the case of “Goblin Slayer” or “One-man Fortress”, the conditions for application were limited, so I just forgot about them. In any case, whether I was conscious of it or not, unless I registered the tower’s status window as luggage, the effect would be applied automatically.
The status screen on the top was a bit more complicated than the one on the ticket, although it did add things like levels, occupations, and titles.
“Status window
Name: Lee Min Ho
Level: 9
Titles: Rule Breaker, Goblin Slayer, Thunderbird Rider, Master of the Order, Owner of Intuition, One-Man Fortress
Occupation: Summoner
Strength: 56 Dexterity: 52 Stamina: 56(+1) Intelligence: 54 Magic: 99(+1)
Points remaining: 0」
The biggest difference between the status window on the tower and the ticket was that it contained an ability called magic power.
This is a power that is completely different from my internal energy, so I remember that when it was first transferred, its value was 0.
So I invested all the remaining points I had earned into magic power, and now I have a number close to three digits.
Since other abilities can be raised using mileage anyway, I thought I would focus on the magic ability that can only be raised here.
Thanks to this, I was able to achieve a magic power of 100 by adding the additional abilities attached to the equipment, and I was able to see the flow of magic power.
The additional values next to stamina and magic power were the values when equipped with the two pieces of equipment, a ring and boots, which were rewards for climbing floors in that manner.
After I finished checking like that, I looked around.
The place I am now is the guild house of the Summoner’s Guild on the first floor of the tower.
That’s where the guild master, Linette, took Jeonja’s idea and turned it into a sort of animal cafe.
Although it was called an animal cafe, it was a bit different from a real animal cafe.
The interior is decorated with natural materials, and the wooden table and soft chairs are reminiscent of a cozy mountain lodge. The animals that fill the space are not real animals, but animals that live in this tower.
There were many creatures that caught the eyes of the guests, such as rabbits with small wings, a ball-shaped body with long ears flapping and bouncing on the floor, a bird with shiny scales like a small dragon, and a fist-sized panda hanging on the wall.
These mysterious creatures were hanging out with the guests all over the guild house. They were all summoned beasts contracted with the guild master, Linette, so they were not afraid of people and acted as if spending time with the guests was a natural part of their daily lives.
In some ways, it looks like a small paradise.
Even now, the summoned creatures contracted with Linette were sitting on or next to the guests’ tables, serving them.
“Hey, would you like to try this cookie? Or maybe some milk!”
“What if I give you everything you want to eat? What are you going to eat?”
“Just order a new one!”
The sight of customers trying to win over animals with food didn’t seem much different from reality.
A dog-like summoner glanced at the cookie the guest was shaking in his hand, jumped up from its spot, and snatched it away.
The customer saw it again, clapped his hands in approval, and ordered new cookies.
Considering that the cost of purchasing them all goes into the Summoner Guild’s pockets and helps the guild’s operations, you could say that the summoners here are also working hard for the guild.
Just then, someone came toward the table where I was sitting.
“Brother, you came first. Sorry for being late.”
“No, I just got down too.”
I waved my hand and motioned for him to sit down.
The man who bowed his head and apologized for being late was Kim Jae-yoon. He was the main character of the original work.
The man who currently serves as the vice-master of the Rainmaker Clan, a clan I created.
After changing to a Summoner, aside from obtaining Janie and Thor, if I had to pick the biggest achievement I got from my last trip, it would be Kim Jae-yoon.
Not only did he simply call me brother, he was honest with me about his secrets.
The original title is ‘A Guide for Climbing Towers’. The fact that he has that guide.
