Chapter Index

    Woohoo

The Dyson Sphere in the facility has started partial operation with the Noir Black brought by Basnit.

Dyson Sphere is a special technology that tethers a shining star to work for humans.

Just as Helios drove the sun’s chariot to create day and night, it was no ordinary thing for a human being to hold the reins of the chariot and drive the heavenly horses, even to me, who had traveled the world and experienced all sorts of things.

I thought that if the ancient people, who identified the celestial bodies with the gods, had seen this, they might have thought that Olympus had been conquered by humans.

    Woohoo!

The structure surrounding the star glowed like a giant crown in the dark space.

The tiny panels, made up of billions of facets, subtly vibrated in a certain rhythm, capturing the star’s energy. The light reflected from each panel permeated the entire Dyson Sphere as if it were a living organism, making it appear as if it were moving organically.

It was as if the stars were divided into billions of pieces and shining brightly, bathed in a soft light.

As the star glowed hot, emitting energy at its center, its light flowed into the satellite’s energy hub through tens of millions of transmission tubes connected inside, and was stored in facilities installed throughout.

In some ways, the Dyson Sphere seemed like a work of art created by the natural laws of the universe rather than a civilization designed by humans.

This work, which can be said to be the pinnacle of human energy technology, operates as if alive by absorbing the star’s near-infinite energy.

    “ and… ”

    Exclamations erupted from the group.

The Dyson Sphere in operation could be observed from the control room. Of course, it would be impossible to install an ordinary camera inside the Dyson Sphere, so it was closer to reconstructing the information detected by a specially-made sensor into a digital image rather than an ordinary camera, but it was still an amazing sight.

This video completely changed the image of this research facility that was not very good due to the fact that it was taken over by alien creatures that resembled only bugs.

The sight of energy being extracted from a small star inside a satellite was honestly something I could watch all day and never get tired of.

‘Could this also be considered a bullying incident?’

Anyway, thanks to the Dyson Sphere starting operation, we were able to secure enough power for immediate use.

Even so, the only places where that power could be used were various basic facilities, including life support equipment, and central systems.

It was inevitable, since there were fewer areas that were functioning normally.

However, as the recovery progressed, it was obvious that the amount of electricity required would increase exponentially.

Then, it was necessary to secure extra Noir Black, or its own artificial synthesis method.

It was an amazing sight to see, but the Dyson Sphere wasn’t delivering its full power right now due to the lack of Noir Black.

Even though he had tried to get Basnit to bring him as much as possible, the amount this research facility needed was too much for the smuggler to handle alone.

“It was hard to get this amount. It’s not something that is produced in large quantities and it’s not something that can be easily buried because of the high trade volume… It’s an item that is of useless importance, so it’s not easy to steal it.”

When I said that I wanted more Noir Black, Basnit looked embarrassed and said so.

He said that he had mobilized all his connections and sold out all his inventory in order to make the first deal right away, but it would not be easy to get it in the future.

If you listen to the explanation, it seems like it would be a dangerous item with little profit from the smuggler’s perspective, so they wouldn’t want to handle it.

But of course, I didn’t have to worry about that.

“Don’t worry about money. And the items we’re trading aren’t just Noir Black. We’ll trade you the materials needed to repair the facility, the seeds for the biodome, and the weapons for our subordinates. You’ll make a lot of profit, right?”

Since I had made a deal with the smuggler named Basnit, I planned to use him to my full advantage.

On our side, we give them real-world weapons that our subordinates have already sold, or samples obtained through exploration of remote planets, and on the Basnit side, we have them bring other materials and weapons.

Indeed, Basnit was also happy with the other deals besides Noir Black, as he stroked his beard and gave a positive answer.

    “I’ll try my best.”

“And if you can get the recipe for the artificial synthesis, please find out. Even if you can’t get the recipe itself, if you tell me who knows the information, I’ll give you whatever you want as a reward. It’s safer for you than continuing to steal Noir Black. You can just wash your hands of the recipe once you’re done trading. ”

    “Well, definitely… ”

It would be great if I could get the recipe, but I wasn’t expecting too much from a smuggler who had lived on Planet Noir his entire life.

Still, I guess I can get some information on who might know the recipe.

Even if Maria could figure that out, she could probably figure out the rest by hacking.

‘If there was something like superluminal communication in this work, we would have figured it out already. There’s no way to exchange information in real time once you leave the planetary system, so…’

Even though it was a little less efficient, I had no choice but to find out in this way.

So for a few days, Basnit worked hard to transport supplies while we focused on restoring the facility.

First of all, Moon Ji-yu’s equipment was completed.

“How is it, do you like it?”

“First of all, it’s light… and the fit seems okay.”

She took a look at the gear she was wearing.

Moon Ji-yu’s equipment consisted of gloves, shoulder pads, and chest protectors made from the shells of elite individuals.

It wasn’t a full-body armor. In my experience, the full-body armor was too cumbersome to put on and take off without the Lee sisters’ hands, so there was nothing I could do about it.

The equipment for other parts could be made later if necessary.

Moon Ji-yu seemed to like the equipment she received.

The faint smile on his lips was proof of that.

At first, I was hesitant about making equipment out of something that looked like a bug’s shell, but after seeing the finished product, I changed my mind because it didn’t look like a bug.

The equipment, made from the shell of an elite individual, moved smoothly, as if it had become one with her, rather than being just simple armor.

“Try using your superpowers. It’s not just a simple piece of equipment made for defensive purposes.”

    “Okay.”

Moon Ji-yu extended his hand, clad in black gloves.

The matte black shell absorbed the light, and even its simple movements gave off a menacing aura.

    ———!

A sharp shadowy thorn suddenly shot out from her outstretched hand and stabbed the air.

The black shadow, which was seamlessly connected to the gloves, absorbed the light and swayed rhythmically as if it were a living, breathing creature. Its appearance breathed a strange tension into the space.

It was so powerful that it would have passed through any other obstacles or enemies in front.

“It’s become incredibly easy to handle shadows. It seems like their power has also gotten stronger.”

Moon Ji-yu said with a slightly excited expression.

“Do you think the control is working well?”

“Yeah. I haven’t tried my best yet, but I think it’ll be okay.”

“Okay. But just in case, always be careful. You also have to practice using your abilities without equipment consistently.”

    “I will.”

    Whee!

As she raised her hand, a black shadow extended from her fingertips and swept the surroundings like a whip.

Even while making such a sound that seemed to tear the air, she didn’t touch anything around her, so it seemed like she wasn’t lying when she said she had good control.

The shadows drawn from the shells of elite entities were definitely different from other ordinary shadows.

I should say it feels a little more alive somewhere.

I thought it would be good to see Moon Ji-yu’s will reflected more strongly.

She spent some time practicing to get used to the equipment and to be able to manipulate shadows properly even when she wasn’t conscious of it.

After a month, when the biodome was restored and the group had had enough rest, I called everyone back to the control room, including my subordinates.

    “What’s going on?”

Jung Soo-jin asked, her complexion brightening as if she had been well rested as if she was on vacation.

I didn’t answer right away, but looked around for a moment.

First of all, my women, including Jeong Su-jin, caught my eye.

They each had their own special abilities or superpowers that they had awakened with my help. Even without that, their physical abilities had increased dramatically due to the contract.

On the other hand, although her subordinates were all men who had lived rough lives, they were clearly weaker than them.

The cyborg parts that had been strengthening their bodies were all destroyed when I treated them with the Healing Rosary, and now they were using the weapons that Basnit had procured as their main weapons.

While the power of those weapons was certainly useful, I wanted them to be a bit more fundamentally powerful.

In that case, there is nothing more suitable than martial arts.

‘Because I don’t want to make a contract with those guys.’

“I will teach you martial arts.”
