Chapter Index

    Ddddd…

    ‘You’re moving fast.’

The sensation of the entire building vibrating was transmitted directly through the soles of my feet.

Sarah and Moon Ji-yu released their powers the moment all the suppression robots were destroyed and the connection with the outside world was cut off.

I looked outside through my senses.

Four objects, presumably construction drones, were flying somewhere around the bar building we were in.

‘We should also bring this technology to reality. If we can move a building in an instant like this, it must be very fast to build a new one as well. It’s called a construction drone. It must be used for construction as well.’

Although I have seen it in passing while walking down the street outside, the feeling of it from inside a flying building is something else entirely.

Although it does have the downside of requiring a dedicated platform with basic infrastructure like electricity and plumbing, the ability to fly and move in an instant is a great feature.

There was no need to use it only when moving to another place.

It could be used to change the direction of a house on one’s own land, or to re-arrange the layout of the yard and house. In reality, it is rare to find unowned land, so this method of application is likely to be used more often.

The modular block building may look a bit bleak on the outside, but the inside can be decorated like a regular house or a bar.

The thought of putting this to use in the real world makes my mouth water.

Actually, I’ve been hesitant to take future technology from New Kind and Nova Empire.

This is because we were skeptical about whether the current technology and level of consciousness would be able to accept the advanced technology of the future world.

The hardware equipment implemented in reality was limited to things like Dream Vision and camera drones, and the focus was on software content for that reason.

But after several conversations with Maria on this subject, I changed my mind.

    – It is a clear fact that the technology of reality lags behind that of SF world travel destinations. However, that does not mean that we are not ready to accept it when that technology is implemented.

‘… Something about what you’re saying doesn’t make sense.’

    – People in reality are already talking about most of the technologies they can imagine. Not just in Hollywood sci-fi movies, but also in novels, comics, games, columns, and even YouTube content created by individuals. The technologies we will bring are not the strange technologies of aliens that appeared out of nowhere, but technologies that came from the imagination of real people. Rather, real people are probably thinking about and hoping for new technologies more than ever before in history, right?

‘It’ll be fine since it’s a technology that people imagined anyway… Is that what you’re saying?’

-When a new technology appears, the public may be a little excited, but they will quickly adapt to the new technology and quickly forget their previous life without that technology.

‘It seems like we’re talking about smartphones.’

After hearing her words and asking her to do some research, I couldn’t help but agree.

‘Not long ago, there was an incident that stirred up the whole country about room-temperature superconductors.’

This happened after the announcement that a room-temperature superconductor had been developed in Korea.

At that time, many people reacted with, “Surely not, this is something that would only appear in a movie…”, but there were also many reactions such as, “Even if it were to come out, it wouldn’t be in Korea,” “But if it were real, wouldn’t it be a total hit?” “Let’s go!!!”

What this means is that if it were true that room-temperature superconductors had been developed, people’s consciousness would already be somewhat prepared to accept the technology.

Behind this, there must have been the daily flood of science fiction works, the rapid development of AI performance, and the massive amount of information uploaded online.

Of course, there can be no problem.

Even AI, which can be said to be in its infancy compared to the world of science fiction, is already noisy with many controversies, so would it be so quiet when other technologies are introduced?

Dream Vision is also reducing noise through collaborations with existing game and content companies, including Nexus Studios.

‘But now I am able to handle the problems that will arise from such changes.’

So, aside from the primary purpose of replicating Telos, the construction of this research facility also had a secondary purpose of researching how to apply future technologies to reality as smoothly as possible.

Anyway, the original plan to quietly take Kai Delshard out was abandoned and this is what happened.

Since it had come to this, I thought it would be a good idea to make Kai Delshad the representative and absorb everyone here into my forces.

While I was lost in thought for a moment, Kai Delshad said something to me with a determined look on his face.

“I will try to clear the way with them. Fortunately, the place where the bar was is in the center of the market, so if we break through the wall now, we can quickly run to the hangar. After that, we can escape on the probe we came in… ”

I raised my hand and interrupted him.

It felt good to be willing to take on a dangerous task, combining a sense of guilt for saving me with awe for my abilities. The others were also shaking their butts, perhaps thanks to the religious high they had just felt.

But there was no need to rush through the center and into the hangar when someone might get hurt.

Isn’t it a waste of time to treat him?

‘They’re all my subordinates anyway, so if they get hurt it’s my loss.’

“Run? A scholar doesn’t run even when it rains.”

    “What is that…?”

Even in the original movie, the strongest guy doesn’t run.

You can go straight to the hangar from anywhere by just breaking down the wall and using the key.

The reason I didn’t break through the wall as soon as the shutter came down was because I was confident I could escape at any time.

    -A gentleman? I think I’ve seen you running around a lot…

‘It’s just that I have a short temper.’

Kai Delshad, who didn’t understand what I was saying, had a question mark above his head, and the group, who noticed that I was joking, secretly giggled behind me and held back their laughter.

Let’s say that Janie, who has experienced worse refugee experiences than this, and Maria, who can handle this situation on her own, are like that. But the reason the other group members are so relaxed in this situation that can be considered serious in its own way is probably because they all trust me.

It’s not a good idea to let your guard down too much when traveling, because you never know what might happen, but it’s a relief to receive this kind of trust compared to the looks I got when I first declared my harem.

Kai Delshad looked confused as he watched our group laughing at this situation.

‘Let’s explain later and try to escape first.’

    “Maria.”

    “Yes.”

She knew what I wanted without me having to give her long instructions.

As she closed her eyes as if concentrating and raised both arms, the vibrations in the bar grew even louder.

    Kukukung!

    “What, it stopped…?”

People who were staggering along with the loud noise looked at Maria.

She smiled broadly, as if enjoying the gaze.

“The construction drone program doesn’t seem to have much security.”

    “Slowly down.”

It felt like we were going down in an elevator. After a few seconds, we could feel the floor of the bar hitting the ground with a slight vibration.

    “Kai, lighter.”

    “Yes…? Ah! Here it is!”

Kai Delshad pulled a silver Zippo lighter from his pocket.

    Ting-

When I opened the lid, there was a cheerful metallic sound. After turning the wheel a few times, the characteristic flickering flame of a Zippo lighter rose.

I raised the lighter toward the shutter and reached my other hand toward the flame.

    Hwaruk!

A small lighter flame shot out like a flamethrower, covering the shutter.

As we concentrated our firepower to prevent the heat from reaching the party, the metal shutters soon melted and flowed down. Bright light came in again through the gaping opening. It was a much stronger light than the torches that had been temporarily placed on the ceiling.

“That barrier is made of a material that even thermite can’t penetrate this quickly… ”

“The lighter must be a good item. Keep it safe.”

I threw the lighter back at him as he muttered absentmindedly.

I didn’t really need a lighter, but I borrowed it because it seemed like something more than just blowing fire out of my hand. I knew he had one.

It’s similar to the reason why astrologers use tools like crystal balls to match their clients’ information. If someone who doesn’t know looks at it, it looks like something great.

It was a performance shown in front of reserve subordinates.

“Hmm… I guess we didn’t move very far.”

After going outside and looking around, I took the four construction drones that Maria had hacked into my inventory.

The only way to get these things was to melt the wall without using the key inside the bar that had stopped moving.

Since there was nothing more to gain from this, I took the key out of wherever I was and stuck it into the air.

    Crash-

    “Okay, let’s go!”

    “… … .”

Through the open door in the air, the interior of the Manta Ray’s boarding ramp was visible.
