Chapter Index

    ‘What should I do?’

I used high-speed thinking to see the robot and Kai Delshard in a standoff.

Since I already had most of the information I wanted, there was no problem with just shaking it off and pretending I didn’t know.

As for the exact warp coordinates, if you ask Maria, she’ll get them for you right away.

I already saved you once when you were being chased by gangsters, but I had no obligation to help you clean up after that.

But it was a shame to let the future rebel leader, Kai Delshad, fall into a difficult situation without taking advantage of it.

Given this, it seemed like there would be no problem trying to extract extreme profits.

‘And if you leave me alone and tell people that I’m the one who burned the thugs to death, or if you go around telling people where I’m going, it’ll be a problem.’

Kai Delshard knows that my destination is the moon of Orbis in the planet Novaris.

If it were a normal situation, I would have just finished the deal and parted ways coolly, but it was also true that I felt reluctant to just abandon him.

    ‘Should I kill him?’

It was a thought that came to me out of the blue, but it wasn’t a joke.

Kai Delshard doesn’t seem like the type of person to talk nonsense, but if his life is on the line, he’ll do anything.

Rather than keep getting tangled up with the annoying Jamad, it seemed easier to just quietly bury one person.

I thought about it for a moment and then shook my head.

He is not just an extra, he is a talent worthy of appearing in the history books of the Nova Empire.

It doesn’t seem like I have no talent at all now, and rather than killing him and severing our ties, I think it would be better to show him a favor and turn him into something I can use.

And above all, this trip was not just my trip alone, but also with my friends.

I don’t think you’ll lose interest or anything because I’m acting cold, but I don’t want to make it difficult for you by causing you unnecessary mental shock.

Although I would have to experience such things later, there was no need to train my mental strength to be cool right away.

Since it was my first trip, I wanted to make sure that I had only good memories.

Even if the result is a bit of a hassle.

    ‘Okay, it’s decided.’

    -Can I help you?

    Shudder.

Kai Delshad glanced at me with surprised eyes after hearing the sound. I sat still and faced him.

-You don’t have to answer. Just nod if you want me to help.

He seemed to have a very complicated expression on his face for a few seconds, as if he was debating whether it would be better to accept my help or to just be taken away by the security robot and have him testify about what had happened that day.

But by the time I reached out, the decision was pretty much already made.

On a developing planet like this, where people seemed to have no interest in human rights or anything else, being dragged in by a law enforcement agency meant you were likely to be subjected to something unpleasant, whether it be simple imprisonment or torture, until you gave them the answers they wanted.

Even if you reported me to Jamad here, there was little chance that Kai Delshad, who was the cause of the problem, would be able to walk away unscathed. You would just end up holding someone else back and falling into the swamp together.

Of course, if there was a hole to escape through, I had no choice but to squeeze my body in.

Kai Delshad nodded awkwardly, his stiff neck creaking.

‘I guess I’ll be guided directly to the location of the research facility.’

“If you do not follow along obediently, we will have no choice but to forcibly take you away. Stand up on the count of three and be restrained… … .”

    “Hey, Kai.”

I interrupted the robot and called out to Kai Delshard.

“… Why are you like that.”

“Do you have anything else to pack at home?”

“… No. Not all of them are important. If you leave them at home and go out, they won’t be unlocked because of thieves. The only expensive thing is the VR goggles.”

“Then I just need to bring that and the terminal with the saved coordinates.”

He nodded and quickly gave instructions to his group through voice.

-Sarah, put a barrier over the robot’s head so it can neither hear nor see.

-Jiyu, use your shadow to cut off all the robot’s joints.

The security robot suddenly had a black sphere appear out of thin air and cover its head with it.

Whether it was out of panic or because its priorities were set that way, the robot stretched out its arms as if it was trying to subdue Kai Delshad.

But the robot’s hand couldn’t reach him.

It was because the Shadow Blade had cut off all of the robot’s joints, just as I had instructed Moon Ji-yu.

    “Ugh… !”

Kai Delshard gasped as he suddenly saw the robot extend its arms in front of his nose, then disintegrate into pieces and fall to the ground with a thud.

All of that happened before I could give the order and take a single breath.

The time spent on special training has paid off.

I picked up the head part from the wreckage of the collapsed security robot. It wasn’t too hard to find. It was surrounded by a barrier when it was alone.

I handed it to Maria next to me.

‘Maria, erase all information related to us from this robot’s storage. If you can leak any disinformation, do so.’

    -Yes, master!

Sarah created a small gap in the barrier at Maria’s request, and Maria hacked the security robot through that gap.

Now there was no need to worry about being chased by Jamad right away.

From the beginning, it wasn’t a difficult task because we never revealed anything to Jamad other than the information about the probe we had come on.

This means that even basic identifying information such as name or face was not handed over.

Except for planetary systems at the center of the galaxy, developing planetary systems like Frontier-7016 do not keep detailed records of their entry and exit.

In order to develop the planetary system, we need to increase the population and logistics, but if we were to be strict and focus on inspections, it was clear that the economy would immediately collapse.

That’s why immigration brokers like Kai Delshard can operate even in this space age.

“Okay, let’s take you home. Let’s pack our things and leave quickly.”

    “Huh…? Huh… ”

Kai Delshad stood up from his seat and followed our group, answering with a blank expression.

It was a similar expression to the one he had when he burned down the thugs in the alley. The only thing that had improved was that he had gotten off his butt as quickly as he was told.

He gradually began to realize that these people he was involved with were hiding something unusual.

Seeing him speak without moving his lips and blow a security robot to pieces without lifting a finger, it seemed like a natural thing to do.

    Whisper whisper.

“Are you going to take that guy too?”

“Oh. I think it might be useful.”

I also quietly answered Jeong Su-jin’s whisper.

“Isn’t that too sudden? Are you really a trustworthy person?”

Jeong Su-jin looked at Kai Delshad with unfavorable eyes.

It may seem like an impulsive decision because it was made in a very short period of time in real time. However, I had already thought it through sufficiently through high-speed thinking.

‘It’s right to spit on such talents in advance, even if it’s for the sake of the future. And for the sake of the ending.’

There are three ways I can think of to achieve the ending of this world where there is no main character.

One, sabotage the Imperium of Man, causing it to fall due to bugs or civil war.

Two, working for the Imperium of Man to eradicate the bug race, formally known as the Xenobriaks, from across the universe.

Three, I will suppress bugs as they are, and I will rise to the top of the human empire and become the space emperor.

In fact, the first of these methods is not worth even considering.

If there’s no other way or if you desperately want the ending here, then it’s something to think about, but even so, having humans be destroyed by bugs just isn’t my style.

The second and third methods were more to my taste, but if I was going to side with humans anyway, I would rather sit in a position where I was giving orders than one where I was receiving them.

In reality, you can conquer the world, or even space, something you couldn’t do because of your aversion to it.

And in the process, Kai Delshard becomes valuable to use.

Unlike the cramped Earth, this universe was so vast.

Since I couldn’t control everything on my own, we needed to build our own power.

‘And there’s no reason not to use Kai Delshard, who is already a proven talent.’

In the original story, a person who had nothing became the leader of a rebel army and succeeded in dealing a blow to the Duke’s family. So how successful would he be if he grew up under me with abundant support?

It was quite an exciting assumption for something I just came up with.
