Chapter Index

“So, what kind of power do you think you’ve awakened?”

After Jeong-soo Jin and Olivia got dressed, I sat them down and asked them.

Fortunately, the awakening of the superpower through the Telos Ampoule showed a more intense reaction than the awakening through the Starlight Meteorite, but the recovery was also relatively quick.

It was Olivia who used her power first.

“Me! Me! I want to try first!”

Olivia jumped up from her seat, waving her arms vigorously. She held them out, shaking as if she was exerting all her strength.

    “Eeee…! Yuck!”

    Phong!

    “… … .”

    “… … .”

For a moment, an awkward silence fell over the room.

It wasn’t that Olivia failed to use her powers or that she had the ability to become invisible like Sarah.

No, rather, it was just that the change was so noticeable that I was speechless in shock.

    Thump thump. Thump thump.

The group’s gaze remained fixed on something twitching in Olivia’s head.

A triangular, pointed thing with golden hair growing out of it, like Olivia’s hair.

    ‘Those are… animal ears… right?’

    – Judging from the shape, it looks like the ear of a feline.

Maria’s objective assessment made my head more complicated.

While the group remained silent, Olivia jumped up and down in her seat, admiring herself.

“Oh…! I feel so energized! My body feels lighter…!”

Those animal ears, well… Maria’s analysis suggests that it’s unclear what the feline ears did, but they certainly did make Olivia’s body appear more toned outside her clothes.

I’m guessing that the power that Olivia has awakened is something that allows her to gain the characteristics of an animal. I don’t know exactly what animal it’s based on though.

As Olivia spoke and waved her hand, this time her fingernails became sharp and hard, like those of an animal.

For a moment, a sharp sound could be heard cutting through the air.

“Fingers?! Minho! See this? I’ve awakened my superpower! Success!”

    “… Yeah, I guess so.”

“But is that all? It seems like a boring ability if all it does is make your body lighter and your nails sharper. Of course, your physical abilities have already increased significantly since signing a contract with Minho… ”

Olivia looked slightly regretful, wondering how long it had been since she had gained her power.

She didn’t even seem to notice that she had animal ears sprouting from her head.

‘At least it’s so painless that you won’t even notice it when your body changes. That’s not such bad news, is it?’

    But Olivia’s disappointment was premature.

As she licked her lips in regret and focused her mind again, something popped out from below her waist along with the sound of her clothes ripping.

    Boohoo!

    “!”

    “Huh?! What is this?!!”

    Softly.

    “Tail… ?”

Olivia turned around with her upper body twisted and muttered blankly.

It was clearly an animal’s tail, tearing through Olivia’s clothes and swinging gently in the air.

Her tail, with shiny, fluffy golden fur growing out like cat ears on her head.

    The changes didn’t stop there.

Golden hair grew from the back of Olivia’s hand, wrapping it around her hand like a glove.

Her current appearance was that of someone who had worn an animal-imitating prop just for a special occasion. It was like a woman who had dressed up as a cat for her boyfriend.

‘Purification… no, is that the ability to personify?’

I don’t know much about your tastes, but I heard that if a certain part of something resembles an animal, it’s not called a furry. I guess that’s a sensitive standard for the fandom.

Anyway, Olivia froze when she saw her lovely tail and her furry hands. If the tail hadn’t been twitching as if it were broken, she might have thought it was a life-size figure.

She looked like she was in a great shock, so I spoke to her cautiously.

“Hey, Liv. Do you not like this ability… ”

“This is the best! What the heck? Did I turn into a cat? Did my face change too? Did I grow cat whiskers or something? Cats are nice, but having whiskers on your face is a bit…!”

“Huh, huh? Do you like it?”

    “Of course!”

Everyone in the group was startled when Olivia suddenly jumped up and cheered.

Is it because my physical abilities have increased as I become a person?

She jumped up as if she was going to break through the ceiling, then flipped over and clung flat to the ceiling to absorb the shock before gently landing back on the floor.

The sight reminded me of a cat falling from a high place, then turning its body and landing softly. Or maybe a three-dimensional maneuver in zero gravity.

When I saw his movements that almost seemed to ignore the effects of gravity, it seemed like his motor skills had been enhanced to a certain degree.

The only flaw was that her sharp claws left ten holes in the ceiling as she clung to it.

Olivia stood in front of the large mirror in the living room, examining her body intently, her expression not hiding.

“My favorite female heroine in Nexus Studios’ movies was Kitty Girl! But this one is just like Kitty Girl, except in a slightly different color! Oh my gosh, it even has ears?!”

As far as I know, Kitty Girl was a young amateur hero who appeared as a sidekick to other heroes. As for her special feature, as the name suggests, she looked like she was cosplaying as a cat.

It was my first time finding out that Olivia’s favorite character was Kitty Girl.

She repeatedly pressed and removed her hands from the ears on top of her head. Each time she did so, her ears would flatten, then when she removed her hands, they would perk up and spring back up again, repeating the same pattern.

I let out a sigh of relief inside.

‘… I’m glad you like my abilities.’

If Olivia had been someone who hated that kind of thing, it could have been a pretty painful situation, but fortunately, she seemed to enjoy it more than expected.

“When you look like that, I feel like I should add cat to the end of your words.”

“Is that so?! Like this, meow? I feel like I should wear a bell necklace too! ”

Olivia was so excited by Sarah’s words that she started meowing at the end of every sentence, as she had some knowledge of subcultures due to her job as a streamer.

When Olivia showed such a positive reaction to her awakened power, the mood among the group quickly improved again.

“Ahahahahaha! This is total cat cosplay!”

    “Blah blah blah blah… ”

“… It would be nice to have an event too?”

Sarah and Jeong Su-jin burst into laughter at the cute sight of Olivia awkwardly adding “nyang” to the end of every sentence, while Moon Ji-yu, the oldest sister, had her eyes sparkling as if she was thinking of something sinister.

After laughing for a while, we continued to explore Olivia’s abilities a little more.

How far can anthropomorphism go, what is the scope of the body that anthropomorphism applies to, and if it changes, is it possible to anthropomorphize other animals besides felines?

There was a lot to know to make the most of the ability.

But is it because Olivia’s power is the kind that directly changes the body?

She concentrated, squeezing every bit of her strength, but she couldn’t turn into another animal. And the golden fur that covered her hands like gloves could be applied to her lower arms below her elbows if she concentrated, but it couldn’t invade her body any further.

It meant that it was still too early to completely transform into an animal or become another animal.

However, the fact that physical abilities and motor skills are greatly enhanced when transformed, and the defensive power of the area covered in golden fur is greater than expected, were very encouraging aspects.

‘Is this the limit of the abilities you gained by making a contract with me? Since abilities are basically abilities that consume stamina, it’s not strange, but…’

Or maybe it was because he had just recently awakened his powers and was not used to handling them.

Since I was moving around a lot trying out different things, it was natural that my stamina would run out.

If you become fully proficient in using your powers and your abilities grow, it is quite possible that you will be able to completely transform into an animal or personify another type of animal.

‘I need to train Olivia hard so she can become accustomed to her abilities like Serana and Moon Ji-yu.’

I gathered my thoughts like that and muttered absentmindedly.

“Maybe later we’ll be able to talk to animals.”

    “… … .”

And at the words I uttered, the group exchanged glances.

    “… Shall we try it?”

    “Okay!”
