Chapter Index

My schedule after the movie was released was busier than filming Still Heart.

Actually, strictly speaking, it doesn’t even matter if I filmed Steel Heart, because the scene I appear in lasts less than a minute at most. It also appeared in the cookie video after the main story was over.

However, in Korea, the mere fact that a Korean was playing a hero in Hollywood, especially Nexus Studio, became a big topic. Because the Korean was a streamer and neither an actor nor an aspiring actor, there were some negative views, but it could be said that it was promoted more through word of mouth.

Thanks to this, Nexus Studio, which had been disappointed to reveal who played the role of Ignis, seemed to have seen a more positive marketing effect than expected and was looking forward to its performance in Korea.

Although the content of the cookie video was not known, it was an unusual reaction considering that Nexus Studio was usually very sensitive to spoilers.

And as soon as Steel Heart was released in Korea, it achieved results that exceeded expectations.

In the meantime, there were a lot of articles about the cookie video, but they didn’t say anything about what it was about, so people’s curiosity was sky-high, but when the movie was released, all that curiosity turned towards theaters.

[‘Steel Heart’ exceeded 700,000 viewers on the first day of its release, achieving the highest opening score of the year!]

[A movie that will thaw frozen theaters after Corona!]

[Don’t leave right after the movie ends! Korean hero who appears in the cookie video!]

[Korean streamer appears in a Nexus Studio movie! A notice of the birth of a new hero?]

[Why critics are praising Steelheart, ‘The growth story of a flawed, humane hero’]

[Jackson Reed, who plays Steelheart, turns out to be a Korean food lover? ‘I like bibimbap!’ posted on social networks]

It wasn’t even just his good grades in Korea.

In Korea, the publicity effect was quite good due to the rumor that Korean heroes appeared in the cookie video. However, in foreign countries, it only attracted a little interest, and the impact of my appearance was not that great.

This means that although the scenes in the past where I saved people were mentioned again and received some publicity, it was not enough to attract audiences to the theater on a meaningful level.

Still, the movie Steelheart itself was a work with a large fan base, and it attracted people’s attention due to the Jay Lennox incident that had previously occurred, so even if the scope was expanded to the entire world, it was still an excellent score.

-Steelheart is, of course, the best hero.

-The scene of wearing an exoskeleton suit always gives me goosebumps.

-The Ignis in the cookie video wasn’t bad either. The superpowers were good, and although the appearance was brief, the actor’s acting was very natural.

B That’s right. It felt like we were dealing with real fire, not cheap CG.

What’s surprising is that the actor’s main job is a streamer.

-Could it be that the two of you team up in the next movie? After watching the interview video and the cookie video, the combination of actors didn’t seem to be bad.

In fact, although most people in Korea were interested in the news that a Korean hero was coming out, there were some who expressed concern.

Although it is a familiar name now, it is truly Hollywood.

How many actors have entered Hollywood but been given ambiguous roles or faced limitations due to language and race limitations?

In fact, most of the actors currently active in Hollywood are Korean-American. In fact, cases of Korean nationals consistently appearing in Hollywood films were so rare that one could count them on one hand.

So, some people were of the opinion that Nexus Studio was influenced by PC and created a new character called Ignis. In some ways, it may be seen as inserting an Asian hero into a franchise that is already guaranteed to succeed.

This was explained to some extent by honorary chairman and author Carl Rogers directly making a negative announcement and kicking out extreme PC fanatic Jay Lennox, but it was impossible to convince everyone.

That opinion completely died down after the movie was released.

Steelheart’s story was good enough to satisfy fans, and Ignis, who appeared in the cookie video, also received favorable reviews thanks to his superpowers and the impact of the scene.

Those who gave uneasy glances were also worried that overseas fans would look at them for creating a clumsy Korean character, but they were ready to cheer as much as they could if it was a proper role.

The reaction could be seen not only in the streamer community, but all over the internet.

[(Spoiler alert) Steel Heart review including cookie video]

… … So this episode was much better than I expected. A hero movie that is fun for the eyes and makes you feel good.

Also, I waited for the ending credits because I heard there was a Korean character in the cookie video, but it seems like they really chose a good character. It seems like it came out at just the right time because none of the Nexus Studio movies have featured a fire-wielding superpower yet.

To be honest, I was a little worried, but it was better than I expected.

-They said they worked on Awaken, a CG where Ignis has a fire-controlling superpower. I watched the director’s interview and he was so excited that he was explaining it and it was hilarious haha.

ㄴ ㄹㅇ? Did they edit all of Steelheart?

    No, just the cookie video

Well, considering Dream Vision, I guess their capabilities are good.

-When I saw him lighting a cigarette for Steel Heart, I thought he was a very likeable character.

    [Lee Min-ho’s destruction haha]

Screw the heads of those who said they were worried that a streamer would come out in Hollywood and block the path of Korean actors.

    (Cookie video overseas comments)

The Steel Heart story is receiving rave reviews, and there are so many people on YouTube who want to see Ignis appear in the movie, so what’s stopping them from doing so? At first glance, it seems like there are actor fans who couldn’t go to Hollywood, but that’s not Lee Min-ho’s fault, it’s the fault of a lazy actor who didn’t study English properly.

    – People used to ignore him because he’s a streamer, but if you look at it this way, doesn’t it mean that Lee Min-ho is more talented?

ㄴ There is no one who has heard Lee Min-ho’s name and doesn’t know that he is talented, unless he is just an internet broadcaster and looks at him negatively.

-Don’t you know that actors these days also communicate live with their fans? I don’t know why I only have a bad opinion of streamers.

ㄴ It’s like that because of some religious groups.

    – Those people who used to belittle streamers by saying they are snooping around Hollywood are all gone now haha.

[Looking at the bulletin board, I suddenly feel that Lee Min-ho is amazing… ]

Since Lee Min-ho is on the air almost every day, I don’t think you guys know how great he is, so let me explain.

Doesn’t anyone know that the streaming market is constantly being invaded by glitches? From various broadcasting-related technologies including picture quality to upgrades to Virtuber avatars. Right now, the total number of users is lower than Twatch, but I think that will inevitably change within a year.

When thinking about the future, the top streaming platform is Glitch. Needless to say, it is the only platform that is linked to Dream Vision. Recently, foreign streamers have also moved to Glitch or at least started broadcasting simultaneously, so unless they have an exclusive contract with an existing platform, most new streamers can be seen on Glitch. Lee Min-ho is the overwhelming leader in such glitches.

YouTube subscribers already exceed 2 million. You may say it is not much, but considering that it has only been a while since broadcasting and YouTube operation began, it is very fast.

I still feel like I’m lagging behind overseas YouTubers who are in the 10 million range, but that’s over now. Since the movie was released, we can already see a surge in subscribers, and it will likely surpass 3 million in just a week.

-Conclusion: Does Lee Min-ho look like a dick?

    ㄴ hahahaha

-It doesn’t seem like he’s lost his original intention, and he’s amazing haha But now that he’s filmed a movie, aren’t he going to stream it?

    No way!!!!!

-Has a streamer ever become so famous nationwide?

ㄴ There are some downsides, though.

    ㄴ That bastard haha

-Surprise worship posts will be plastered throughout the community for a while.

I giggled softly as I read Maria’s response.

‘You really wrote some kind of worship article.’

-As the owner becomes more famous, there will be more fans like that.

‘Anyway, you should know about making a fuss online.’

The reason why my broadcast was interrupted so rarely was because Maria was in charge of most of the work in real life. And when I feel like taking a break, I go to a travel destination and change my mood.

Anyway, from the viewers’ perspective, I seemed to be very sincere.

“I’m glad that people seem to like Minho.”

Janey, who was looking at her smartphone next to her, said with a small smile.

We are at a movie theater in Seoul. We watched Steel Heart together, and the ending credits were playing on the screen.

Since I went to see a movie with Olivia, who I had made an appointment with earlier, as well as with other women, I also visited the movie theater with Janey.

She said it was okay, but I still can’t discriminate against a woman who followed me because she liked me.

Still, Janey seemed more happy that people liked me than the movie.
