Chapter Index

The cookie video shoot ended with Ignis wearing a costume and looking back at Steelheart in the flames.

I looked down at the costume embodied in Dream Vision.

A newly designed costume by Nexus Studio.

While my original suit had a black background with red lines as accents, the new costume that Nexus Studio created for the movie had a slightly different feel.

The high proportion of black did not change, but instead of red lines as points, a pattern that looked like burning flames was drawn across the body.

As expected from a studio that specializes in producing hero movies, the abs, chest, shoulders, etc. Stylish design that emphasizes muscle lines.

It was much more striking and flashy than the existing one.

The original’s black hero suit was good for blending into the darkness, but in hero movies, the main character has to stand out to some extent.

Since Ignis’s superpower was not related to hiding, it was only natural that the design would be this flashy.

‘At first glance, it seems to have a slightly scary atmosphere.’

The image of using fire to burn the enemy did not have a very gentle feel.

In fact, in the cookie video, contrary to his light attitude, he wiped out the remaining villains in one fell swoop.

Still, when the flames were extinguished in the final scene, I thought it was pretty cool to see the flames flickering from the flame pattern on the costume.

I stopped looking at the costume and held out my hand to Jackson Reed, who was standing hesitantly.

“It ended easier than I thought, right?”

“… That’s right. I didn’t know it would end in one take like this.”

Jackson Reed said that, shouted ‘Okay!’ and looked towards Coach Hartman, who was waving his arms in great excitement.

“It’s been a while since I’ve seen the director so excited.”

“You were quite excited about filming with Awaken’s equipment. Still, seeing as you like it, I guess you liked it.”

“Do you like it? her… ”

He shook his head and continued speaking.

“If you don’t get excited after filming a scene like this, you should quit your job as a film director. No, more than that, I thought I was wearing a real Steelheart suit. To the touch, I could clearly feel that I was wearing the jumpsuit that Awaken gave me, but what I could see was a suit made of hard metal, so I thought I was under some kind of hypnosis. Isn’t this really something wrong with my brain?”

    “Take off your dream vision.”

As I said, he took off and put on the Dream Vision on his head several times, and a sigh of admiration escaped his lips.

“Ha… It’s really amazing. The world can change so quickly with a helmet that isn’t that heavy… ”

“Science and technology are developing so quickly. Even 10 years ago, could you have imagined a world like today?”

“That’s right… But Ignis was also great. The flames were so vivid that I unconsciously covered my face with my arm. I thought I was really getting burned. And the remnants of those villains. Are these real graphics? I thought it was played by a professional extra actor.”

While filming, he seemed to be calming his excitement due to his experience as a Hollywood star, and he seemed to be getting more and more excited as he spoke.

I looked at him happily and nodded.

“Wouldn’t a better scene have been filmed that way? You reacted as if you could really feel the heat. And the villain remnants are really graphic.”

“This is so… Am I already old? It’s hard to keep up with the pace at which the world is developing.”

“In the movie, Steel Heart is the one that has no one to match in terms of technical skills, but isn’t that just sounding too weak? Where has the billionaire playboy gone and such a timid man remains? You have to be nervous to avoid being called a suit hero.”

I originally knew that he was friendly towards me, but perhaps because it was right after we started acting together, the distance between him and I felt closer now.

So it wasn’t awkward at all to tell a joke like this.

Jackson Reed looked at me with a blank face and then burst into laughter.

    “Qu… okay. I took a hit.”

    Chin~

He took my hand, stood up, and headed toward Director Hartman. He walked confidently, as if he was surprised by the new filming technology.

‘Unlike Jackson, I feel a little disappointed.’

I walked after him and was lost in thought.

Although I already knew this from the script, the scene where Ignis appeared only took up about half of the short cookie video.

Because I had to briefly show the character Ignis, it was difficult to film serious scenes like I did when I auditioned.

-It is difficult to film such a solemn scene in a cookie video from another hero movie. Maybe when the master’s solo movie comes out, we’ll be able to film a similar scene.

    ‘That’s also true.’

Since all the serious scenes would have already appeared in Steel Heart’s main story, it was the right decision to stimulate curiosity by only showing the new hero’s characteristics in the cookie video.

In fact, some people may still feel that it is excessive in some way.

It’s a good thing that the things I swept away were the remnants, because if a villain like the Black Titan, whom Steelheart had already defeated, had risen again and I had taken it down, the meaning of the movie would have been diminished.

‘Anyway, we even filmed a movie. I hope it goes well.’

    “You’re crazy… ! it’s crazy… !”

“Director Hartman. how is it? Did the picture come out well?”

Jackson Reed approached Coach Hartman, who kept repeating that he was crazy, and put his arm around his shoulder. The purpose was to check the video recorded by the camera.

Coach Hartman’s shoulders flinched at that question.

“The picture came out well… ?”

Director Hartman seemed to be lost in something even after being asked a question by the movie’s lead actor.

Jackson Reed saw that and said, ‘Huh? He tried to step back with an expression of ‘this isn’t right’, but his shoulders were already tightly held by Director Hartman.

    “Check it out yourself!”

He says that and pushes Jackson Reed in front of the camera.

Jackson Reed had no choice but to do as he was told and bring his face close to the display.

“Geocham. Even if you don’t force it, you can see it on your own… … !”

He grumbled at Director Hartman’s rough touch, but quickly lost his voice and became immersed in the display.

No, I had no choice but to fall in.

Steelheart rests against the remains of a building and meets Ignis, and Ignis sweeps away the remnants that suddenly appear.

Because the scene he was acting in just moments ago was captured on camera.

What was important was that not only were their performances captured on camera, but the graphics they saw using Dream Vision, such as Steelheart’s suit and Ignis’ flames, were also captured on the camera that was filming nearby.

“No, what is it? Wasn’t this shot in real time? But how can I see the finished version on this screen right now… ”

“I can’t believe you can film a video of this quality on site without any post-production! This is truly a revolution in the film industry!”

Director Hartman shouts, interrupting the embarrassed Jackson Reed.

His burning eyes suddenly turned towards me, who was watching from the side.

‘hmm… ‘Your eyes are very hot.’

His mind is probably complicated right now with thoughts of praising Nexus Studio, which signed a contract with Awaken, and how he can impress me, Awaken’s CMO.

Of course, because the video shown by Dream Vision did not read and show the director’s thoughts, some details had to be modified.

However, just as Jackson Reed momentarily mistook the video he had just filmed for the finished product, even this alone inevitably increased the quality of the video itself tremendously.

And there was a real reason why Director Hartman reacted this way.

He was so excited about new technology that he muttered in a weak voice, as if he had never been so excited.

“Ha, you can take the composition you want without having to shoot from a different angle… Just by installing a few cameras around the set.”

A movie is not something that ends with one shot.

Long shots that focus more on the background than the characters and show the place where events occur, full shots that capture the entire body of a character to establish the situation, and bust shots that emphasize conversations between characters. The normal production process involved filming a single scene multiple times from various angles.

When watching a movie, you need to illuminate the characters and events from various angles without it looking monotonous.

So, even if you succeeded in filming a good scene, it was common for the filming to not be completed in one go, but to repeat the same performance several times.

However, when filming with Awaken’s equipment, it was possible to skip the rest of the process with just one best shot. Composition and scenes can be modified from already shot footage, just like using 3D graphics.

Perhaps the sense of desperation shown by director Hartman was a reaction to the fact that the difficult process of making a movie had become incomparably easier.

I cleared my throat because I felt like he would never be able to recover from the shock if this continued.

“Kuhm… More than that, how was my acting? Wasn’t it awkward?”

“Ah… ! Look at my mind! I can’t believe I was thinking about something else rather than filming with an actor in front of me. It’s so shocking, so stop… ”

“You look just like a child who received a new toy?”

After watching the footage, Jackson Reed poked Director Hartman with his elbow and joked.

“Now, what is a toy! Yes, the acting was very good too! No matter how realistic the graphics were, it didn’t feel awkward at all! I thought he was using real superpowers, so I took my eyes off the camera several times to check! What on earth did you do?”

Like Jackson Reed, he seemed to alternate between reality and the camera display several times thanks to the vivid graphics.

‘That’s because I really have superpowers.’

The battle data that Maria has accumulated so far is truly massive. Implementing vivid CG in real time to match my gestures was not difficult for her at all.

Since the graphics were created based on actual data, it was natural that they felt realistic.

But instead of talking about such things, I smiled quietly.

“Thanks to Jackson for accepting me well.”

-They say the most necessary things for acting are confidence and shamelessness. If you think about it that way, you could say that the master is overflowing with talent.

Seeing as Maria admits it, maybe she has real talent.

Although it was only the first shoot, director Hartman already seemed anxious to tinker with the details of the video. So I gave him some well-wishes.

“I hope we get good results. Steel Heart is a movie I’m also looking forward to.”

“You won’t regret signing with Nexus Studios.”

Director Hartman’s eyes were burning brightly as he answered like that, as if he had lost his energy at some point.
