Chapter Index

The noble family was a corporation in itself. Since they are conducting a global business using the family’s technology, it is safe to say that they have transcended the megacorps that often appear in cyberpunk dramas at this point.

If I had to give it a name, it would be something like Galaxy Corp.

-Corporate influence is spread across galaxies… Even if the Human Empire did not officially recognize the status of nobles, they would eventually have achieved a status equivalent to that of nobles.

‘It feels like the class system has become more solid because we have a monopoly on the essential technologies of the space age.’

    -That’s right.

Of course, a branch of their noble company was established on the planet Atlas where I am now.

It’s the capital planet of the empire, so there’s no way they wouldn’t have left their ties behind.

That was the place I had to visit.

The Aurelian family’s navigator training center.

The plan was to create a status through the director of the training center.

‘Training navigators is Aurelian’s main business. Additionally, a person worthy of being dispatched to the capital of the empire would certainly not be of ordinary status.’

    – That’s it!

I found out the location of the navigator training center in advance through a terminal stolen from a store. Fortunately, it wasn’t far away, so I was able to get there quickly.

    ‘wow.’

I leaned back and looked up at the training center building. The width of the training center building on both sides was larger than that of an ordinary building, but its height was especially impressive.

It was a building that soared endlessly into the sky, almost reminiscent of a space elevator.

I chose one of the many doors located on the first floor and entered the training center.

    Jiingㅡ

When the automatic door opened, the security guards guarding the entrance and the information desk in the lobby came into view.

As the flying means of transportation called Sky Rover was commercialized, there did not seem to be many visitors coming through the first floor.

I approached the information desk, receiving all the attention of the idle first floor employees.

    “How did you come?”

“I walked. Do you have a small intestine?”

“The director and… Do you have a prior reservation?”

“No, I don’t have one. I just arrived here.”

    “… … .”

I could see the eyes of the info desk staff moving quickly, as if they sensed that I was a real customer.

And at the same time, a security guard, more specifically a security robot, who was watching my actions, approached me. Unlike New Kind’s androids, it did not look exactly like a human, but was a bipedal robot made of metal.

-There are androids that resemble humans, but by imperial decree they are restricted to sex dolls only.

    ‘That’s another unique law.’

“The director is busy right now. Please leave your name, contact information, and business and I will forward it to you.”

As the security robot moved, the staff member seemed to have some peace of mind and said with a smile on his face.

Of course, I had no intention of listening to it as it was.

“I guess you didn’t understand properly, but I need to meet the director?”

“Guest. If you do not have a prior arrangement, please leave now.”

    [I will guide you outside.]

A polite but firm man’s voice was played through the security robot’s speaker.

I twisted the security robot’s arm that was reaching towards my shoulder and pulled it away.

    Wood-duk-kwajik-!

    “!”

“I visited secretly because of internal family matters. Should I talk about this in the lobby?”

Shock appeared on the employee’s face when he saw the security robot’s arm made of hard alloy being torn off like a doll.

Before I knew it, the other security robots took out their guns and pointed them at me.

Instead of saying another word, I increased the momentum of the Emperor Sword style I had recently learned.

    Kugungㅡ

    “Ugh… !”

    Geek…

The posture of the staff and security robots, which received the Emperor Sword-type momentum, collapsed. The employee fell with his upper body on the information desk. The security robot tried to raise itself, making the sound of an overheated motor in its joints, but it could not stop the pistol aimed at me from continuing to hit the floor.

At first glance, you might think that the Emperor Sword type, which subdues the target with force, is similar to the killing technique I sometimes used. But the two were completely different. The Emperor’s Sword type was a martial art in which an invisible and intangible force actually weighed down the opponent, and it was an expression of the intention to kill the opponent, which was not particularly considered a martial art.

And above all, the Emperor Sword type had the advantage of having practical physical power and acting on inanimate objects.

The humans in Nova Empire didn’t particularly learn martial arts or had any superpowers, so they couldn’t properly resist my Emperor Sword type.

‘is not it? If the human brain can perform like a quantum computer, it can be called a superpower. My high-speed thinking is also a superpower, but it looks better than that.’

-If you look at it from a realistic perspective, that might be a superpower. With advanced scientific technology, including biotechnology, it is not impossible to appear to have supernatural powers. There are also enhanced humans.

Whatever it was, the ordinary human in charge of the information desk could not resist the force of the Emperor Sword type. The employee spoke with a sound as if his body was being pressed down by the king’s sword. It seemed like he had finally realized that it was not something he could handle.

“Above… Ugh… Would you mind letting me know that someone visited? ?”

    “I told you. It’s a family affair.”

If it was truly a secret matter, I would have contacted the director in advance, but my goal now was to prevent employees or security robots from escalating the matter by calling security forces for no reason.

“If it becomes noisy, it will cause damage to the training center. I have something to talk about quietly, so tell him to come find me.”

    “Yes? Where to go… ?”

“I’ll be looking around the building, so come find it yourself.”

    thud!

    “… I understand.”

The employee, who felt that the force holding him down had disappeared and raised his upper body, gulped when he saw the security robots rolling around on the floor with all their joints damaged.

The employee seemed very scared just by that sight, but I wasn’t satisfied.

‘The body should be completely crushed, not the joints.’

There was nothing I could do because I had not yet fully mastered the Emperor Sword form. This was because, unlike other martial arts, there was a limit to the power that could be increased by simply increasing the output.

I left the lobby, took the elevator, and pressed the button for what appeared to be roughly the middle floor.

    Wow~

Fortunately, the employee seemed to have chosen to defer responsibility to higher-ups rather than engage in unnecessary tricks. The elevator worked normally.

However, even a simple elevator was on a different level from reality. The elevator shot upward at high speed like a bullet, but strangely, the acceleration had no effect on my body at all. This also seemed to be a technology that utilized something called a gravity reactor.

I calmly looked around the inside of the navigator training center. Although it was a building with a futuristic design, the way office workers worked was no different from reality. Only the appearance of the equipment changed with a hologram or transparent display.

Occasionally, personnel wearing skin-tight suits with a spacesuit-like design were seen receiving training while wearing unusual-looking helmets.

    -Those people are the navigators.

‘Those people? The helmet design is a bit bad. ‘Is the sensibility of the space age difficult for me to understand?’

-Helmets play a role in suppressing brain function. Navigators’ brains are so powerful that if they take off their suppressors before they receive proper training, there is a risk of their brains going crazy and causing death. Of course I don’t have to!

I walked around the inside of the training center like I was at home and secretly sprayed nanobots. It was to allow Maria to gather information.

And the moment I got on the elevator to head to the next floor, the elevator suddenly started moving even before I could select the floor. The elevator, which moved so randomly, stopped only after reaching the top floor of the training center.

‘I’ll be waiting in front of the door.’

Sure enough, when the elevator door opened, what I saw was countless guns pointed at me.

The troops pointing guns seemed stronger than the security robots in the lobby. It was not a simple bipedal robot, but looked like a special forces unit wearing an exoskeleton suit. And some of them were not holding guns, but swords with black edges.

The voice of someone hiding behind the troops was heard.

“Are you? A criminal who dared to impersonate our family.”

-I’m Jaden Aurelian, the director of the Navigator Training Center.

The moment the elevator door opened, Maria’s nanobots spread out and identified the owner of the voice and announced it.

“Impersonation. I feel sorry that you treated me so poorly while I was visiting on family business. Director.”

“It’s ridiculous that it’s a family affair. What on earth is it?”

“My name is Lee Min-ho, Inquisitor of the Aurelian family.”
