Chapter Index

    August 16, 2025.

In Korea, it is the day after Liberation Day, but here in Japan, it is just Friday.

“Teacher. Is it common for cosplay events to last three days, Friday, Saturday and Sunday?”

    [That means it’s that big.]

The way to travel by subway.

While heading to the cosplay area, we could see many people other than us wearing unique costumes.

[Because it is so large, everyone is already dressed.]

Since it was only about two stations away from the cosplay venue, there were quite a few people other than us who were already wearing cosplay clothes and heading to the venue.

    And of course we-

“Hey, excuse me. Can I take a picture right now?”

    [of course.]

    “…….”

    [of course.]

    “Wow!”

Even as we were going, we were asked to take pictures together, and we were taking pictures.

“Thank you! Goblin statue, cheer up!”

Cosser, the military uniform character who took a picture with us, said hello and headed to his group.

    “Goblin, the reality is awesome!”

“Speaking Korean is also realistic, right? Alas, it’s a shame. I want to hear the goblin speak Japanese.”

“Goblin is Korean. Goblins are not oni. If you don’t speak Korean, are you a goblin?”

    “Kimoi….”

I can hear everyone talking about the photos they took.

You might think they are talking in a whisper because they are far away, but unfortunately, the hearing of people with special abilities is good enough to hear conversations in a single subway car even if they don’t want to hear them.

    Everyone is looking at us.

Among cosplayers in particular, they are keeping a close eye on me for cosplaying as a ‘villain’ rather than a hero.

And surprisingly, no one reported that ‘a goblin appeared!!’

“Teacher. Rather than being polite, I think it would be better to just carry on as usual.”

[I’m still thinking that way, too.]

It seems like going forward with the concept of a monster consumed by a concept will not arouse people’s suspicion.

Just a little while ago, when I first met him, I treated him with respect, and I still can’t forget the way the cosplayer looked at me with a look in his eyes that said, ‘What kind of goblin speaks so respectfully?’

    “Um….”

    “What’s wrong, Sister Harang?”

“No. Well, maybe it’s my imagination.”

Baek Seol-hee pointed to the inside of the subway and to the people passing by on the street.

“…There are almost no cosplays of existing heroes, right?”

As Baek Seol-hee pointed out, most of the cosplayers around her were ‘ordinary cosplayers.’

Rather than the things you often see on Hero Wiki, these are things you probably see more often in comics, animations, and special effects.

In other words, most of the cosplays come from ordinary comic markets.

    “Is this right?”

[No problem. Because our concept is to participate all three days.]

    “All three days…?”

[This is my first time at a cosplay event, so let me tell you something: no matter how strong a cosplayer you are, you can’t cosplay for three days straight.]

I wouldn’t know if it was someone with special abilities.

[It may be physically and mentally difficult, but above all, there are times when you want to enjoy it as a regular spectator rather than as a course player.]

“Ah, I see. The ‘main focus’ is different for three days, right?”

    [okay.]

    Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

The Osaka Comic Market event, which lasts for three days, can be broadly divided into two.

[A day where 2D is the main focus. A day where 3D is the main focus. And the last day is a day where both are mixed together.]

“In other words, today is 2D Character Day!”

    [okay.]

A day that focuses on heroes and villains in comics, not heroes and villains in real life.

    [Someone said that. today….]

“It’s Assa’s Day, and tomorrow is Insa’s Day.”

My heart suddenly sank at Nadeshiko’s words.

“Think about it, Yuna. Friday is a weekday, right?”

    “Yes.”

“What kind of people come to this kind of event on a weekday?”

    “Oh.”

    Hot.

Most of the people on the subway had stiff expressions.

“For college students, it’s vacation, so there won’t be much of a burden, but office workers come out at this time wearing checked clothes and backpacks on their backs instead of suits? It’s obvious.”

    “Keu, keuhm.”

    “People going now-”

    [You are also unemployed.]

I gave Nadeshiko a big punch to the back of the head with my fist.

[What’s with the topic of lying around at home doing nothing, but running out as soon as something comes up?]

    “What…?…”

[When I mentioned weekdays, I didn’t mean to distinguish between good and bad.]

The fact that there are many things related to real-life heroes on Saturday, a weekend, rather than Friday, a weekday, means that it is of interest to many people.

[It’s Saturday because there are more people who do hero cosplay, buy related goods, or buy related things in 3D than in 2D.]

    in other words.

To put it the opposite way.

[People going to this event today can say this in one word.]

    -This station…

    [‘Honmono’.]

‘Real people’ who drop everything and go to Comic Market on weekday mornings.

    [People like us.]

And between those real things, there we are.

    * * *

    The era of special abilities.

Otaku culture, which was previously looked down on as a subculture, has become a world leader, and naturally the world has changed accordingly.

The same applies to the Comic Market location where we arrived.

‘Who in the world would think? ‘The Comic Market will be held throughout the 7-story large outlet.’

The place we have currently arrived is a large outlet in Osaka.

Places that would normally house various clothing stores, men’s formal wear, and maker shoe stores are all filled with Comic Market-related booths.

Are you saying they took out all the existing stuff for the event?

    no.

This place was created solely for Comic Market, to be more precise, to ‘nurture and revitalize the development of the skills of people with special abilities.’

It is larger than most department stores in metropolitan cities, and each store section sells ‘masterpieces’ instead of luxury goods.

“Welcome! The doujinshi produced by our hwanak troupe this time is 300 yen per volume!!”

“Listen to music samples! The CD contains 10 original sound tracks!!”

Unlike a comic market, the salespeople are soliciting customers seriously, like employees at a luxury store.

    Why?

‘Because there’s no shame in selling crappy products.’

To them, selling that doujinshi is no different from selling cosmetics.

They also have pride in the idea that selling the creative works and content created by their Doujin team can bring world peace.

    for example.

“Ahh, the goblin statue!! Report on this ability!!”

More than anything else, they are soliciting customers even when I am cosplaying like that…

“If you look at the manga and goblin statue created by our team, it will definitely help you execute the villain!!”

If their creations are actually used by famous people with special abilities, that would be, in a word, ‘amazing.’

“What, are you really a goblin?”

“That can’t be possible. Cosplay paper. I’m just trying to get a feel for it. One or two days?”

People passing by just pass by, laughing at the clerk who called me a goblin.

The smiling clerk’s eyes don’t really make me think that I’m a goblin.

[What kind of execution method is this?]

“Ah, what is that voice…! It’s the same as a goblin!”

    [Because it is me.]

“Ahaha! You are a fun person. Hmm. Would you like to come inside?”

I told you the truth, but they don’t believe me.

    [for a moment.]

I reached out to the clerk and looked behind him.

    ‘Are you three doing well?’

Currently, I am moving independently, separated from my group.

Even if you’re cosplaying, if there’s a man among three beautiful women, it can create an awkward situation.

Don’t you think that if you leave the women alone, the wildcats will target them?

-Goblin-chan, Sugee! Even though she’s a woman, her goblin cosplay quality is Maji Yabai!!

Because I wear a mask, I can be treated like a woman.

Actually, more than that, Nadeshiko wanted to go around with Ymir and Baek Seol-hee.

Perhaps it was a consideration to let me enjoy this Comic Market entirely on my own.

    or….

    ‘Let’s not make it complicated.’

The camera explodes countless times, focusing on the two people led by Nadeshiko.

Even if it is a 2D day, when an ultra-high quality course comes out, people are bound to flock there.

2D Day and 3D Day are ‘recommendations’ and not necessarily set in stone.

    “Hey, customer?”

[iced coffee. Wait a minute, I checked with my eyes to see if there was a villain.]

“Wow…. You really did a lot of research.”

    […….]

I feel a bit burdened by the look in the clerk’s eyes, as if he is looking at me with respect, as if he is looking at me ‘Jin’.

[So, what is the technique for executing villains?]

“Ahh, if only I could use that technique!!”

The clerk held out a thin book that looked like something they had drawn and held it out to me.

“A good technique that GoblinㅡSang might be interested in is the ‘Rider Kick’!”

    [Not interested.]

    “Eeeeet, I’m not!”

    [That’s because I’m no longer a rider.]

Because Rider’s will was handed over to someone else.

“Ahh, as expected. I’m offended because you made a rider suit in the shade of that damn sun! That’s right, that’s right. A person with special abilities is like a girlfriend with his or her skills. My girlfriend was NTR’d by big companies, so it’s natural.”

    […….]

    This clerk is Honmono.

“Then how about this? Among the doujinshi created by our ‘Classical Studies Department’, I recommend this to the goblin statue who decided to take a different path than the rider’s.”

    [What is it?]

    “TS bat.”

    […….]

    Am I crazy?

“If you generate magical power by breaking an egg with a goblin bat, this ability becomes TS after a few days!”

    [how?]

    “Oh, that’s right.”

The clerk pointed at me as if asking something obvious.

“We provided the idea, but isn’t it up to the Goblin statue to decide how to use it?”

    […….]

    I bought one copy.
