Chapter Index

The thoughts I’ve had about the boss I’ve been observing so far…

‘A person with an unusually high level of popularity.’

Even without showing it, I was convinced that all of my classmates had good feelings towards the boss.

Whether it would turn into love or end as a fleeting emotion, I didn’t know.

‘I don’t really want to think about it that far.’

But it was certain that everyone had good feelings towards the boss.

If given the opportunity, it seemed highly likely that it could develop into such a relationship.

‘On the surface, he seems like an ordinary person….’

If there was anything special about him, maybe it was that he had things that were not easily obtainable?

Since they were all friends with bright talents and promising futures, they probably didn’t give their hearts so easily.

‘And considering the boss’s personality, he’s not someone who would favor friends first.’

Yet, despite that, the kids seemed to be deeply infatuated with the boss, unable to break free. It made me wonder if there was some charm that only I couldn’t see, or if it was because of his mental abilities that he had them captivated.

Of course, those suspicions were dispelled over time.

The boss’s actions towards the other kids were undeniable and commendable.

“He takes care of us so meticulously, could it… be possible to overlook…? Hmm.”

    Swoosh-

For some reason, the sound of rain falling seemed to pierce my ears particularly sharply.

It was something I couldn’t empathize with at all until I experienced it firsthand, but now that I was receiving help from the boss, I found myself thinking, ‘Could that be possible?’

‘It’s an uncharacteristic thought for me.’

Being taken care of by an adult was an experience I was not accustomed to at all.

I had always tried to do everything on my own since I was young.

I didn’t like relying on others for help.

‘I preferred to overcome and conquer things through my own efforts.’

But my father’s passing was such a huge shock, and it made me question the foundation of my life that I had been trying to follow. It was the first time I felt the need for someone’s help.

‘I must have unconsciously been thinking positively about the boss.’

Maybe it was because of the stories I heard from my friends.

When I couldn’t come up with a good solution on my own and felt the need for help, the first person who came to mind was the boss, for some reason.

‘After receiving counseling, it felt like I was indebted to him, we became much closer than before.’

Did the kids go through a similar process as me?

Suddenly, a chilling fear crept over me.

‘…Could it be that I’m starting to like the boss too?’

    Whoosh-!

No matter how distracted I was, that wasn’t the case.

I shook my head to snap out of it.

‘I need to focus. Is it because I haven’t been training properly?’

It’s a grateful thing to receive help, but it shouldn’t be a reason for my heart to waver.

However, with so many precedents, the uneasy feeling didn’t completely disappear.

Even though it was scary, I couldn’t help but seek help.

The note I received from the boss was still helping me even now.

‘It’s as foolish as getting hurt in a situation where there is no proper therapist.’

Don’t try to resist the typhoon.

It was said that it was a behavior that didn’t help at all in finding a solution.

‘To commit such a foolish act.’

Frustrated, I tried to tamper with the typhoon and ended up getting hurt.

One thing I learned even as I got injured was that it wouldn’t be easy for the nobles to make a way out.

The typhoon, which had become much fiercer than when I first entered this place, didn’t seem to have any intention of backing down.

‘To make a way out of that…’

The contents of the note from the boss, warning not to resist the typhoon, came to mind again.

But just because it looked too dangerous, would the nobles want to stay in the shelter indefinitely?

When the commoners from the first floor come up to the second floor, the nobles would dislike staying in the shelter even more.

“If you’re going to leave eventually, it’s better to try as soon as possible.”

Where on earth did this typhoon gain such power and keep moving?

It’s strange that it doesn’t move.

It feels like there’s a reason not to leave this place.

    “A reason not to leave?”

It was a thought that came to mind by chance, but it was an enlightening realization.

The reason to stay in this city.

I wandered around the city aimlessly, but there was definitely something I couldn’t find.

    “Where did I miss it?”

There was no place where a special energy could be felt.

With the ferocious typhoon raging from all directions, it was impossible to find a place where energy could be felt.

“If the reason the typhoon is here is because…”

It must be because the source of power that keeps the typhoon going is nearby.

The fact that it still has not lost its power and continues to intensify means that the source is still healthy enough to affect the typhoon.

It was easy to guess that the only suspicious place was the one where there was no destruction around.

“There’s nowhere in this city where there are intact items except the shelter.”

Instead of wandering outside, I should search inside the shelter.

    That was my conclusion.

Is Gabrielle really doing well in her work?

I worry if there are any injuries.

No matter how well prepared the upper management is, it won’t be easy to survive in the midst of strange phenomena.

The environment is much worse than usual.

“She’s smart, so she should be able to handle it.”

I have a simple way to solve the strange phenomena.

However, I did not share the answer with others.

This was to create an experience for Mona Hwangtae and Gabrielle to grow.

I believe that the upper management will handle it well internally.

“Mona Hwangtae has not experienced any of the trials she should have faced in the future.”

By laying out a smooth path and letting Hwangtae take her place, I deprived her of the opportunity to grow.

Now Hwangtae needs time to grow on her own.

So, I decided to watch how she would act this time.

But I couldn’t risk her life, and since the most reliable presence in Hwangtae’s mind is the direct unit in the military, I gave her a hint.

“I can’t ask a child who has just started walking to run.”

At least, it was necessary to lay a mattress on the floor to prevent her from getting hurt while practicing walking.

Even though the people inside the shelter knew they were safe, the weight of the task Hwangtae was carrying did not decrease at all.

When the strange phenomena disappear, there will still be plenty of work to do.

“Rebuilding the city damaged by the strange phenomena and dealing with the casualties will be a busy and serious task.”

Calming the people’s fear of the sudden appearance of strange phenomena was also one of the tasks that Hwangtae had to solve.

Even if I didn’t deliberately create work, there were plenty of tasks that Hwangtae had to overcome on her own.

If she experiences and successfully overcomes all of those tasks, Hwangtae will become as strong as the Mona Princess I saw in the future.

    As for Gabrielle…

    “She has to do well…”

The timing of when the individual scenarios of SSR characters start varies.

Some start their individual scenarios as soon as they are summoned, while others like Gabrielle start much later.

Gabrielle’s individual scenario, “Recovering Father Gebokchi.”

I don’t know how much effect my advice will have, but I think that was the best choice I could make.

“If I had interfered more there, they would have definitely disliked it.”

Gabriel was a character who would distance himself from me if I interfered too much.

So, I was quite surprised when he consulted me about his father.

He wasn’t the type to ask for advice in the first place.

Knowing Gabriel’s personality, I simply suggested a path for him without overly interfering, as I knew it would help him grow.

Even though I knew it was the right choice, I couldn’t help but worry about Gabriel.

While there were advisors around Lady Mona, Gabriel was in a situation where he had to handle everything on his own.

I hoped for Gabriel’s success and safe return as I continued to do my own work.

“There are a total of four serious places where abnormal phenomena have occurred.”

There were quite a few places where abnormal phenomena occurred and then disappeared without causing any major damage.

The place Gabriel was heading to was a city where a typhoon was continuously ravaging only that city.

“If it’s Gabriel, he’ll probably just wander around through the storm without a care.”

When will he realize that it’s all meaningless?

The cause of the abnormal phenomena is not objects, but people.

It’s ridiculous that even the person causing it doesn’t realize the truth.

“Of course, there might be someone who notices.”

By training in a place where abnormal phenomena occur, one can achieve rapid progress.

So, if someone is sensitive to their own abilities, they can make guesses with just a few pieces of evidence.

“If someone is power-hungry, they might want to use the abnormal phenomena. They wouldn’t care about the damage it causes to others.”

Of course, since it’s far from contaminated areas, it will eventually disappear over time.

But if it disappears after using up all that time, the city will have suffered a lot of destruction.

It will take a tremendous amount of time, money, and effort to restore everything.

Just thinking about the cost of restoration makes me dizzy.

But since it’s a project that the country has to undertake, I can remain calm.
