Chapter Index

Regardless of Khan’s anger, I couldn’t keep my wits about me.

It was also because the strong impact shook my head, and because I couldn’t sleep after talking to the unidentified person.

Beyond that hazy mind, the voices of Lily, Kelly, and Khan could be faintly heard.

I couldn’t tell how much time had passed.

I just vaguely thought that maybe a day or so had passed.

I looked around, my mind hazy.

A room where no wind blows, but where the air is fresh.

This was the room that Lily and I stayed in.

Lily was lying next to me, sleeping soundly.

I tried to get up but then stopped.

I definitely thought I had lost consciousness from the excruciating pain, but my body didn’t hurt as much as I thought.

I absentmindedly raised my hand, and although it was bandaged, the pain was mild.

It seemed like a healer had cured me.

    “Jeff…?”

I turned my head to the side at Lily’s faint voice, and saw Lily looking up at me with a bashful smile.

It seemed like he thought this situation was a dream.

I stretched out my finger and poked her soft cheek.

    “Hmm… This isn’t a dream?”

    “Yeah. It’s reality.”

Lily jumped up from her seat, startled by my words.

Then he came to me and felt all over my body, examining my wounds.

“Oh, does it hurt anywhere? I got treatment, but they said there might be aftereffects…”

I don’t know who the doctor was, but he seemed to be very skilled.

I shook my head and moved my body around.

There wasn’t any particularly painful or uncomfortable area.

    “It’s okay.”

    “Whew…”

Lily sighed in relief at my words.

I smiled slightly at how kind she was to genuinely care about me.

Even though it was clearly a dangerous place, it was all thanks to Lily that I was able to feel at ease.

Perhaps, if Lily hadn’t been there, the atmosphere would have been a bit more run-down.

“Mr. Khan was really angry. He said that you shouldn’t treat his body so roughly.”

    “Khan?”

    “Yes.”

I touched my chin at Lily’s words.

What are you so angry about?

The face I saw before I lost consciousness was incredibly red and blue.

“But I guess he doesn’t say anything to the patient.”

“Mr. Khan has that much common sense.”

    I nodded to Lily’s words.

I got out of bed and fell to the floor.

My legs move normally and my waist feels strong.

    Condition is not particularly bad.

I felt like I could fight at any moment.

But at that moment, a small hand shot out from under the bed and grabbed my arm.

    It was Lily.

She pulled me towards her with a determined look.

“Ms. Jeff is still sick. She can’t go out.”

    “Are you okay?”

“The doctor told me to stay absolutely still?”

Lily held on tight as if she would never let go of his hand.

Judging by the way his little hands trembled until they turned white, he really had no intention of letting go.

I sighed and climbed into bed as Lily said.

I felt like I had caught a clue about transcendence, but I can’t remember exactly what it was.

From my vague memory, I could only remember that it was related to the figure that Khan summoned when he used his power.

“How long do I have to stay here?”

“Until your doctor gives you permission!”

As I was lying on the bed, absentmindedly passing the time, I suddenly remembered the time of our appointment.

How much time has passed so far?

I was only allowed two days.

If I go beyond that time, Kelly, whose patience has run out, will drill a hole in my head.

“Hey, Lily. How long have I been lying here?”

“You were lying down all day.”

I opened my mouth in a daze at Lily’s words.

I just blew one of the two days.

“Then I’m going to have a hole in my head tomorrow?”

“If you can’t release the barrier, then yes?”

I absolutely wanted to avoid holes in my head.

I took a deep breath and got up from the bed.

And at that moment, as if she had been waiting, the door to the room opened and a little girl appeared.

    The girl wasn’t Kelly.

The girl had a disheveled look, with black hair that seemed to have grown out haphazardly, and dark circles under her eyes.

I focused on what she was wearing.

    White gown.

She was walking towards here, wearing something like a doctor’s gown, dragging it along.

I gaped at the silver stethoscope hanging around her neck.

Surely that girl isn’t the doctor Lily was talking about?

    But why not?

There was no reason why there shouldn’t be a doctor girl, especially since there were 50-year-old girls.

    “Hello. I am a doctor.”

I covered my face with both hands at the voice that came out of the girl’s mouth.

    “Oh. Doctor!”

Lily jumped down next to the doctor girl and clung to her.

    The two seemed very friendly.

“I came to check on the patient’s condition.”

“Okay. Miss Jeff? Would you please get out of bed so the doctor can examine you?”

I got out of bed as Lily said.

The doctor girl looked at me, nodded, and came closer.

“It looks fine. But I might have missed something.”

The doctor girl said this and lifted her stethoscope.

Then he brought the bell part in front of me.

I just stared at it blankly.

“Oh, Jeff. Lift up your clothes so the doctor can examine you!”

Lily ran over and lifted the hem of my dress.

So that you can see my belly.

“Okay. Doctor, please examine our Jeff quickly.”

I suddenly ended up showing my underwear and belly and chest to the doctor girl.

“Okay. Hold on tight so the patient doesn’t get startled.”

I quickly tried to take off my clothes, but the serious expressions on the faces of the two girls stopped me.

And then the girl’s stethoscope bell rose above the ship.

As I flinched at the cold sensation, the doctor girl came closer.

    “Hmm…”

“Do you have any serious illness?”

“No, Jeff is very healthy. He is fine now.”

    “Wow!”

At the doctor girl’s words, Lily cheered and raised her hands.

I touched my burning face and straightened my clothes.

    “Are you really a doctor?”

I looked at the doctor girl and asked.

The doctor’s gown he was wearing was incredibly large, as if he had borrowed an adult’s clothes.

Judging by the way they were dragging on the floor, they might not have been her clothes.

“Of course. I am a doctor.”

A girl with a tired look stares straight at me.

    I nodded, avoiding his gaze.

If that’s what she says, then why should I argue about it?

Anyway, it seemed certain that this girl had cured me.

    “, thank you.”

    “What a good kid.”

The doctor girl, with her toes pointed, stroked my head.

    Swish swish-

The girl doctor who had been stroking her head soon turned around and left the room.

I blankly stared at the place where the doctor girl had left.

    “Lily over there.”

    “Huh?”

    “How old is that doctor?”

    “He is 10 years old.”

“Becoming a doctor at age 10…?”

“Yes, because you have healing powers.”

After a moment of surprise at the doctor girl’s age, I began to relax.

Lily, who had been watching from the side, seemed anxious at my appearance and came over to me and clung to me tightly.

“Hey Jeff. Where are you thinking of going?”

    “I’m going to Khan.”

“Ka, Mr. Khan? Why on earth?”

    Well, I haven’t won yet.

It didn’t take long to break the barrier, so I planned to bump into Khan just before the promise.

“No! You’ll get hurt again and have to go see a doctor!”

    “Maybe so.”

I continued to relax as I responded to Lily’s words.

But my personality doesn’t allow me to just sit there and do nothing.

    So move.

    Towards possibility.

I couldn’t miss the clue to transcendence that I had just caught.

    “Where is Khan now?”

“Ka, Mr. Khan… I can’t answer that for you!”

I wiggled my eyebrows at Lily’s words.

Lily kept her mouth shut as if she really had no intention of answering.

I spread my fingers at her appearance.

    “Heeek!”

Lily, who had already tasted my fingers, freaked out as soon as she saw my movements and ran away onto the bed.

That was the moment when I was about to chase after Lily.

The door that the doctor girl had closed and left opened wide, and a large man barged in.

    “Oh!”

He looked at me, who had become fine, and smiled faintly as if he was glad to see me, but then suddenly his expression became crumpled.

As I was blankly staring at him wondering why, Khan started to approach me with a loud thump.

    “No! I can’t take Jeff!”

At the sound of thumping footsteps, Lily quickly got up and stood in front of me.

However, Khan held Lily in one hand and placed her down on the bed.

Lily lay sprawled on the bed, unable to do anything.

    “Hello?”

    “You…”

Khan seemed to have a lot to say.

However, he just mumbled as if he didn’t know what to do first.

Finally, he let out a big sigh and placed his hand on my head.

It was a very large hand.

“Don’t fight like that. You’ll die soon.”

“I don’t usually fight like that either.”

Khan shook his head hard as if he didn’t like my answer.

    “Eeeeek…”

I groaned and held my head.

“A strong mind resides in a strong body. If you treat your body roughly, your mind will quickly become damaged.”

Khan said that and threw me onto the bed.

I ended up falling next to Lily.

“I’m disappointed. Let’s pretend the bet never happened.”

Khan left the room after saying those words.

I could only stare blankly at his back.

He was a stubborn man in strange places.

“Mr. Jeff! Thank goodness! Mr. Khan won’t come looking for you anymore!”

At first, when I tried to avoid him, it was fortunate, but not now.

I kicked the bed and ran out.

    “Ouch! Jeff!”

    Lily followed closely behind.

I quickly leave the room and look around.

But Khan was nowhere to be found.

    I bit my lip.

“Jeff! The Black Palace is a huge place! If you run around without thinking, you’ll get lost!”

    Which way did Khan face?

I chose the right one for now.

    “This way!”

I grabbed Lily’s hand, who was standing next to me, and ran forward.
