Chapter Index

It definitely felt like we needed to come up with some kind of solution.

I nodded, arms folded in Amy’s arms.

Currently, my body was naturally starting to heat up under the gazes of Shine and Rain, who were eagerly looking to eat me.

My mother, Amy, has also been acting a bit odd lately.

Why is this ordeal happening to me?

It was a really sad situation.

    “Jeff. Aaah~”

I opened my mouth at Amy’s words.

Amy, who held me in her arms, kept putting small jelly-like things into my mouth.

Although I was just munching on whatever was given to me, Amy was smiling brightly, probably because she liked the sight of me like that.

    “Should I give you more?”

“No… I want you to come down.”

I shook my head and shook my short legs as I spoke.

But Amy didn’t say anything, perhaps because she didn’t hear the words to get off.

I let out a deep sigh.

How many days have passed since I last spoke with Rain?

Perhaps because her body was starting to twitch, the little chick would send me signals whenever no one was looking.

Like winking with one eye, or lifting my thigh slightly.

On the other hand, Shine was openly targeting me.

The moment Amy puts me down to do something else, she comes up to me like a ghost, kisses me on the cheek, and disappears.

It’s the most intense skinship that Amy has ever seen without it being strange.

I was so afraid of the evenings when Amy was asleep.

Morning and noon were Amy’s time, evening and dawn were Shine’s time.

    Brrr-!

At that moment, I heard a sound and took my cell phone out of my pocket.

A notification sound that a message has arrived.

It was a message received not only by me, but by the entire Team Harmonize.

The person who sent the message was Jin.

That meant the mission was set.

    “It’s a mission!”

I was stomping my feet and rejoicing in the mission after seven years.

If I go on a mission, will I be able to escape from Amy’s arms?

My eyes were shining with anticipation of being able to enjoy freedom.

Amy gave me a small smile and patted my head.

    “Jeff is not allowed.”

    “Huh…?”

    I cautiously questioned Amy’s words.

    Why can’t I?

That may have been the case when I was young, but it’s different now.

I’m an adult now, and I’ve grown a lot since then, so I think I’m strong enough.

    “It’s dangerous.”

    “It’s not dangerous.”

“If someone outside offered to buy me ice cream, I think I would follow them.”

    “I’m not Rain.”

I puffed out my cheeks at Amy’s words.

No matter how much I liked ice cream, I wasn’t the type of person to go along with a stranger who offered to buy me some.

    “I don’t follow people I don’t know!”

I turned my gaze to Rain’s voice that I suddenly heard.

She was giving me a look that seemed to be protesting.

Rain’s words reminded me of what happened last time.

I mean, the time you called me “sister” to eat ice cream.

No matter how much I thought about it, it was more likely that Rain would follow a stranger than me.

Anyway, since the mission had come down, I had to go to Jin.

As Victor and Amy stood up, Lane and Shine followed suit.

Since I was in Amy’s arms, I had to follow along automatically.

When I arrived at Jin’s office, I was able to see Jin who was very excited.

I opened my mouth in a daze, as if I had captured some very important evidence.

“Welcome! The last team has arrived, so shall we start the briefing?”

Jin welcomed our team more than necessary.

Inside the office, the leaders of each team were sitting.

We were the only ones who got called out to the entire team.

“Everyone, you all know that the 7 years were just an ordinary yet special time, right?”

    Everyone nods to Jin’s words.

The world that was rewritten by Shine’s rewriting made the seven years just ordinary.

“Nothing new was discovered, no accidents happened. Seven years just went by like any other day. Not just for us, but for everyone in the world.”

Jin said so and lit up the large screen behind him.

Above that, numerous pieces of information that Jin had been researching began to surface.

“In a research facility, various types of waste are inevitably produced. Of course, the facility has facilities to process it internally, so it doesn’t come out. ”

Jin paused for a moment, then showed the next picture.

The photo showed huge drums being loaded onto a large trailer.

    Jin’s words continued.

Seven years, that ordinary yet special time, made many things just pass by.

Not included in the normal routine.

For example, things like a monthly general cleaning are out of the flow of the seven years.

The fact that seven years had passed without anything special happening was meant to convey that meaning.

Most of the waste generated within the research facility was non-recyclable.

What happens when radioactive, highly toxic, and hazardous waste piles up for seven years?

The waste that had accumulated over the past seven years had become so much that the facilities within the research institute were no longer able to handle it on their own.

“We started waste disposal simultaneously in all areas, because if we delay, the facilities will become contaminated.”

Jin continued to show the photos.

The dozens of photos mostly contained similar scenes.

I’m talking about drums that are loaded onto large trailers.

Looking at the skull and crossbones marks that indicated danger, they all looked really bad for the body.

“We’re recovering this. Not all of it, but some of it. We’re recovering the waste that contains hard evidence, hard information that illegal experiments are being conducted in a government facility.

    Everyone nodded to Jin’s words.

But Amy didn’t seem interested in such stories, and put a small jelly in my mouth.

I opened my mouth and took it.

    “Everyone, get ready!”

At Jin’s words, everyone began to leave in a hurry.

I tried to move too, but Amy wouldn’t let go.

With all the team leaders gone, only Team Harmonize remained.

    “Amy?”

    Jin questioned Amy’s appearance.

If Amy, the team leader, doesn’t move, the team members won’t move either.

“Why, why aren’t you going? Is there anything you don’t like?”

“I wish Jeff would be left out of that mission.”

    “Jeff?”

At Amy’s words, Jin’s gaze turned to me.

I was mumbling the jelly and receiving that gaze.

“Why on earth? Jeff is a great power. He’s a very strong ability user.”

    “But it’s so small.”

Amy picked me up like a doll and shook me from side to side.

    “Rain, Rain is small too!”

    “But Rain is an adult.”

    “Jeff is an adult too!”

    “You’re a baby to me.”

Jin wiped his face at Amy’s words.

It was a look that clearly showed his frustration.

“You’re not moving until I get Jeff out?”

    “Yes.”

At Amy’s firm words, Jin sighed.

He looked at me with eyes full of regret.

    I avoided his gaze.

There was nothing I could do because I had no strength.

“Excuse me, Mom. If Jeff is left alone, he can sneak out. Should I stay with him?”

Shine seemed to think now was the chance, her eyes shining as she spoke to Amy.

    But she shook her head.

    “It’s okay.”

    “Ha, but…”

“Jeff won’t be able to escape alone.”

I swallowed the jelly at Amy’s ominous words.

After much thought, Jin had no choice but to follow Amy’s words.

By Jin’s order, I was the only one left at headquarters.

I had no choice but to let out a deep sigh and leave the office in Amy’s arms.

    “Everyone, get ready.”

At Amy’s words, Lane and Victor disappeared to collect their items and suits.

Now it’s just Shine, Amy, and me left.

Amy picked me up and carried me to the room.

Are you planning on locking me in my room?

Then it was clear that you had underestimated me.

I will unlock the room and escape outside.

It was in the middle of planning such a grand escape plan.

Amy walked deep into the room, opened a drawer, and took out a strange chain inside.

    Charrr-

    “Mom…?”

The chains gave off an ominous aura for some reason.

It was similar to the aura of the White King, meaning that the entire chain was made of the same material as a bracelet for suppressing abilities.

At the end of the chain was something similar to a bracelet for controlling one’s abilities.

    “Jeff.”

    “Huh…?”

    “Isn’t that a pretty necklace?”

Where on earth did you get this?

The necklace as a whole was not much different from the ability control bracelet.

It was simply made large enough to fit around the neck.

    Click-

Amy stuffed it down my neck without hesitation.

A cool, heavy sensation is felt on the neck.

Shine, who was watching from behind, opened her mouth blankly.

She looked just as embarrassed as I was.

I never thought Amy would put a leash on me.

At best, they thought they would lock him in his room with the bracelet on.

But Amy’s actions exceeded everyone’s expectations.

Amy lowered me to the floor.

I couldn’t stand and ended up collapsing on the floor.

The chains clanked against the floor, making a rattling sound.

    “This, this is…”

    “Can you wait quietly?”

I couldn’t even answer Amy’s words, and just fiddled with the necklace around my neck.

    Pick- pick-

I tried to generate power from my fingertips, but something like a small static electricity appeared and then it all disappeared.

Amy smiled with satisfaction at my appearance, then tied the chain to the leg of the large bed.

I pulled the chain with all my might.

With a “clang” sound, the chain was pulled taut, but with my current strength, I couldn’t untie it.

    “Mom!”

At my call, Amy grabbed Shine’s hand, who was standing blankly next to her, and started to leave the room.

I started screaming loudly at the back of his head as he walked away.

    “Oh, Mommyyy!!!”

    This, this was too much.

No matter how much I have a history of escaping without listening to Amy, I shouldn’t have done something like this.

But Amy left the room without hesitation, as if she had no intention of letting me go.

    thud-

After Shine and Amy left, the door closed.

I stared blankly at the chains hanging on the floor.
