Chapter Index

    “Wouldn’t it be dangerous?”

I was worried. She looked at him with a troubled face.

“I caught the Four Heavenly Kings you begged for?”

    “Someone begged me!”

She screamed, and Inho covered his ears.

“Oh noisy! I got it, I got it.”

    “Seeing.”

As if her anger didn’t subside, her shoulders moved violently.

“But, will people’s memories be erased too? I’m not sure.”

“You’ll find out tomorrow. But it doesn’t matter if it’s not erased.”

“If even my face is exposed, I’ll be in trouble.”

“It’s okay, it’s okay. Anyway, his identity is unclear.”

    “…Still.”

“You don’t have to worry about that. If I can’t erase people’s memories with the power of the stars, I just have to be careful. And don’t keep complaining, I didn’t say anything about the conditions you set.”

“…Okay. It’s just that I don’t think it’s of any benefit to you.”

When he came out strong, Seongah Kim took a step back.

“It’s late, would you like to eat something? Aren’t you hungry?”

As if he thought the story was over, he got up and headed to the refrigerator.

“No, I’m tired so I’ll just sleep.”

“Is that so? First, I need to see what ingredients we have.”

Kim Seong-ah saw him rummaging through the remaining ingredients in the refrigerator and thinking about what to make tomorrow.

    “Uncle.”

    “Why.”

“Why did you say such a condition? There is absolutely no reason for you to do it.”

“Then, are you a magical girl for a reason?”

    “That’s….”

“I do it because I have the power to do so. I don’t have a special sense of mission. I’m happy if people’s daily lives are preserved, so I’m going to do it.”

    “Is that so.”

    “Yes.”

Silence for a moment. Kim Seong-ah, unable to bear the silence, opened her mouth again.

    “I have another question.”

    “What else.”

“Do you hate it when a child says you like it? Don’t men like young guys?”

” Hey, do you know that men say ‘Waaaahhh’ when they see a child? Just learn the strange things.”

“But isn’t it better to be young than old? You’re not a eunuch, are you?”

“Did you hurt your head during the fight earlier? Why is this happening all of a sudden?”

“It’s because it’s important to me.”

Kim Seong-ah suddenly stood up. Seeing that serious face, Kang In-ho sighed and closed the refrigerator door.

“Before considering whether someone is older or younger, taller or shorter… I tend to think that it is important to see if they are a good fit for me first.”

    “But appearance is also important.”

“Yeah, it’s important. There was a time when I thought that was important too.”

    “Then….”

    “But.”

    He cut off his words.

“But, it’s important whether it’s a good fit for me. No matter how pretty you are, no matter how much money you have.”

Kim Seong-ah closed her mouth at the bitter smile he gave.

To inquire further, it was because it was impossible to estimate how many wounds there were.

“So, you too, think carefully. Maybe the crush you have now isn’t affection. It may just be a feeling you have because you are lonely and need a place to rely on.”

    “I…!”

“That’s it. It’s late, so go to sleep. I’m going to clean up here and sleep.”

    “I will help you too.”

“Just sleep. You must be very tired.”

    “Okay.”

In response to the firm refusal, Kim Seong-ah went up to the second floor.

Only after Kang In-ho heard the sound of the door closing did he open the refrigerator door and start organizing the inside.

    “Ah, everything is spoiled.”

He clicked his tongue as if he was disappointed that the side dishes he had made went bad.

    ***

By the time he finished organizing the inside of the refrigerator, the day had already passed.

Thankful that the next day was a holiday, he went up to the second floor.

It’s not like I’m taking a break on holidays, but at least I can prepare Seong-ah’s breakfast late.

    “Looks good.”

He muttered as he passed by her quiet door.

Then he opens the room across from him. As if she had cleaned it up, his room was neatly organized.

He threw himself on the bed. My body fell onto the soft mattress and rose slightly.

    “It’s hard.”

As the tension went away, muscle pain came from all over my body.

He stretched his right hand toward the ceiling. Clench and open your hands. And then he drops his hand on the bed again.

I said I was used to it, but my eyes were closing due to the fatigue accumulated from living on the street and the stamina wasted from today’s fight with the Four Heavenly Kings.

    “Ah… I’m sleepy.”

I tried to resist the force of my eyelids pressing down more and more, but I was helpless.

Just like that, your vision closes and your consciousness flies somewhere.

Kang In-ho drifted in an ambiguous point between dreams and reality.

    – Dalkak

Along with the sound of the door opening, footsteps were heard.

The sound he heard so carefully, almost as if passing by, stimulated his ears.

The bed shakes once. It looks like someone has climbed onto the bed.

And then a figure rises from below him.

    Hot breath touches my nose.

He lifted his eyes with difficulty.
