Chapter Index

    Eletrobe.

In the distant past, it was the name of a district that contained the largest granary in history belonging to a country called Verfia. A meteorite fell out of nowhere, putting it at the crossroads of destruction, but thanks to the activities of a dragon named Arzen, the meteorite was reduced to powder and Eletrobe was safely preserved.

Unfortunately, due to the same dragon’s destructive actions, the Eletrove area became a land of death, resulting in a huge population decline and the fall of Verfia.

However, while the former was recorded in considerable detail and reliability in various documents, the records of the latter were extremely difficult to find. Most records have been expunged or partially erased.

The reason is that the current Arjen is making an absolute contribution to humanity beyond the Holy Army, to the extent that even the word savior lacks any explanation.

Arjen, the ‘strongest dragon in the world’ whose wife is Eugene, the god of conception and fertility and also the god of alcohol among the dwarves, made Eletrobe barren with her own hands with the support of Prinia, the supreme god of the elves. It was transformed into a fertile land that is older than the past.

In addition, part of the land was devoted to rice fields and food was distributed free of charge. Since there was virtually no human labor put into this place, Arjen’s reputation was at a level that was widely known everywhere on the continent.

As this continued for several centuries, her support base soared sky-high, and she ended up biasedly revising the ‘records’ that humanity values more than anything else.

Of course, there were countless opposing opinions, but those disappeared after the war with the demons. This is because she alone prevented a disaster that almost came to this continent again.

The current Arjen was not only a god, but insulting her was often treated as blasphemy. Since the war against the demons had just passed a century or 100 years, this trend was maintained even more.

And Arjen also welcomed the winds of change. No matter how cruel her personality has become, she is a dragon that eats people. Arjen took the initiative and began interacting with humans.

    “Oh! Arjen! Hello!”

    “Ugh, hello.”

Eletrobe now belongs to a country called Gujak. Living up to its name as the largest trading city in name and reality, most things in the world are located here or pass through it.

The biggest specialty of Eletrobe is none other than the dragon Arzen. The majority of visitors to this city, which is also the closest human living area to her lair, came to see Arjen at least once rather than for trade or tourism.

    “Arzen! It’s so pretty!”

“Thank you, you are pretty too.”

“Ugh! Arzen told me… he told me…!”

“Hey! Wake! Oh, I passed out…!”

When she came to Eletrobe to buy the things she needed for daily life, she was surrounded by humans. The size of the crowd was beyond imagination, but it appeared surprisingly orderly.

The thought that one should not disturb Arjen and that one cannot show an unsightly side in front of her had the surprising result of suppressing each individual’s selfishness.

“Sorry, I think I have to go now. I’ll come again next time, see you then.”

    “Ah… yes….”

Just from the way they spoke, it seemed like it would come tomorrow or next week, but a dragon’s sense of time was far different from that of a human. Everyone now knew that Arjen, who always said this, would not arrive until next quarter at the earliest, or more than half a year at the latest, but no one complained, even though it was disappointing.

When Arjen announced her return, the crowd split surprisingly quickly, clearing the way for her. Arjen, who smiled sincerely at the lively appearance of humans today, returned to Lair with a peaceful mind.

    “Oh! Arjen! Welcome!”

Greeting Arjen as he went out was Orha, a woman with a surprisingly identical face. She, who has now completely lost her ability to speak, was the biggest reason why Arjen attempted such a dramatic change.

The influence of Orha, who was a human from birth and was a saint filled with the virtue of charity, allowed Arjen to become closer to humanity.

Arjen no longer eats humans. In addition, the same applies to sub-races such as elves. I was able to eat completely normal meals. In addition to Orha’s influence, it was a development that came from the desire to show Eugene that he had changed in a surprising way the next time he met him again.

“I went there. But what is all this? There are a lot of things that should normally be in the warehouse…?”

Orha was arranging the treasures in the treasure room nicely outside the lair. In response to Arjen’s question, Orha tilted her head.

“Huh? Did you forget? We decided to hold a viewing ceremony two days later.”

“Ah, that’s right. I knew it was already two days away.”

A rare viewing ceremony that other dragons would not dare to imagine. Of course, it does not allow you to enter the inside of the rare, but only shows what kind of ‘dragon treasure’ humans are most curious about.

It was Orha who planned it, but it was a part that showed how soft Arjen had become at the point where he willingly allowed this without Eugene’s will.

“How about it? We’ve selected treasures that people might find interesting from the perspective of someone who was once human! Just in case, I left out everything that could be dangerous, but just in case, would you take a look and give your opinion?”

“Is that so? So, I guess I should take out what I can see right away? That thing between the Thousand Year Silkworm’s silk is Wayne’s underwear. Ah… Do humans even consider the underwear worn by the hero as treasure?”

“Oh, why is this in here! And that can’t be possible! …I’m not sure that’s true for everyone, but…”

“Hehe, Wayne almost embarrassed himself. Everything else looks mostly okay. Good selection, Orha.”

    “Wow~ I was praised, hehe.”

“…Wait a minute, you said treasure, right? I forgot one thing.”

    “Huh? What is it…?”

The person Arjen brought out after entering Lair was none other than Eugene.

    “Uh… Arzen?”

“It’s the most precious treasure in my rare.”

It wasn’t an ambiguous meaning, it was literal. Eugene’s unconscious body was Arjen’s most cherished treasure.

“Of course, but… is it okay?”

“Yes. Eugene will also miss the humans after a long time.”

Because he was unconscious, he was really no different from a doll, but Arjen always treated Eugene as a living, breathing, speaking, and acting person.

Just like a child talking to his or her most cherished doll and asking for its opinion, Eugene’s body became Arjen’s attachment doll.

It was all thanks to this that even though she couldn’t meet Eugene at all, there wasn’t a single negative impact on her. At least Arjen was able to stop thinking that he was left alone because he thought that his body was with him.

Although Eugene was not heard from again after promising to return without fail through Sirocco, Arjen never once shed tears of sadness after that day.

“Uh… how should I explain this to humans?”

“Yes. Eugene, who is now in the God Realm, once stayed… Let’s call it a masterpiece. When you say a real body, it kind of looks like a corpse, right?”

“That’s right. People will be familiar with Arzen’s automata, so let’s explain it that way.”

In fact, a body that has lost consciousness can only be described as a corpse, but the last being who could properly point out that point was Akasha, who disappeared from this world.

    .

Two days later, the exhibition opened. The area around Argen’s Lair, located in the center of the green forest and off-limits to humans except for special occasions, was more crowded than ever.

Because today was that special day, an unprecedentedly special day at that. People of all ages, nobles and commoners alike, gathered to see the treasures resting in the dragon’s lair.

Of course, if such an event was held in a field without any facilities, accidents were bound to occur structurally, so we chose to first divide the people participating in the event into groups by age and then introduce them one by one.

Since I had already decided to hold the exhibition anyway, it didn’t matter when I finished it. To put it bluntly, it could have been carried out for over a year.

The first to have the honor of seeing the treasure were young children. Children under the age of 10 were all brought by their parents, and none came on their own, so they were the fewest in number, so they were assigned the first order.

“Wow…! Look at this! Shine bright!”

To the children, everything seemed so amazing that they made a fuss regardless of the type of treasure. Arjen, along with Orha, personally took the children and explained about the treasure.

‘Hehe… It reminds me of my children….’

There was an accident in the middle of the coming-of-age ceremony, but Arjen, who remembered his twin sons and daughters who had safely achieved independence, guided the children with as careful gestures as possible, fearing that they might get hurt.

    “Arzen! Who is this person?”

A girl who must have been seven years old asked, pointing to Eugene, who was sitting comfortably. Arjen took a deep breath. All you have to do is explain it as you prepared it in advance.

“Yes. This is the person I love.”

    “The person Arjen loves… Eugene!?”

The fact that Arjen and Eugene were a couple must have been widely spread among children in the street, so they reacted with great tension.

“Yes. Eugene is currently living in a place where gods live, so I made him a doll to watch whenever I miss him.”

Naturally, the children’s reaction was explosive.

    “Wow….”

“Me! me! I heard it from my dad! The automaton made by Arzen is amazing! I heard that they are constantly moving around in that large rice field and distributing food to everyone!”

    “Hehe… That’s right. Isn’t the doll I made amazing?”

“Yes! But Arzen! Eugene, why doesn’t the doll move? I want to see it move!”

Arjen was speechless at the unexpected question typical of children. Arjen was trying to figure out how to answer this innocent question that most people wouldn’t ask.

    “Uh… um….”

Arjen, who had no idea how to answer in a way that would make the children understand, continued to talk, and when he was about to say something, the girl who first asked the question interrupted him.

    “Uh! It moved!”

    “……Huh?”

Although he knew that humans lied for a living, Arjen knew that children do not do this when they have done nothing wrong. Above all, as a dragon, there was no need for her to be confused about the authenticity of the words spoken by a young human.

The moment his brain accepted that what the child said was the flawless truth, Arjen’s body moved faster than ever before and he turned his head.

    Smile.

His face, which was always expressionless, was smiling on its own without even touching it.

    “Ah… ah……”

As if to comfort her, who was speechless, his body stood up on its own.

    “Arzen… why are you crying…?”

The words of the children, who were always confident of listening, were not heard at all. This is because I confirmed that his mouth was opening slowly.

    “I missed you, Arjen.”

    “……Yes!”

Arjen, who had the brightest smile in hundreds of years, fell into Eugene’s arms, shedding tears for the first time in hundreds of years.

I became the love doll of a crazy dragon with multiple personalities -complete-
