Chapter Index

    “Have you reconciled?”

A few days later. When he heard the bell ringing indicating lunch time and was about to pack his crutches, Jeong Sang-hoon, who was sitting next to him, asked him.

Compared to how difficult it was to even talk to him at first, we seemed to have become quite close.

    “Reconciliation?”

As In-ho tilted his head in response to the repeated question, Jeong Sang-hoon pointed to Shin Jeong-ah with his chin.

In-ho and Sang-hoon’s eyes quickly turned to Shin Jeong-ah.

Her expression had brightened recently and she was just closing her textbook.

She put the textbook full of meaningless scribbles in her desk drawer and turned to face him.

The two men withdrew their gaze and looked at each other.

    “Well, that’s how it happened…”

    Inho laughed awkwardly.

“Reconciliation is a good thing. Lunch with Jeong-ah again today?”

Sang-hoon asked as if reaffirming the obvious, and In-ho slowly nodded.

    “Eat deliciously.”

Jeong Sang-hoon went out to hang out with his friends, and In-ho looked at the door he left through with regret.

    “Inho~”

Without time to ruminate on his regrets, Shin Jeong-ah suddenly came next to him.

    Inho stumbled from the weight.

    “I will support you.”

It was much easier to do it alone, but he couldn’t resist her as strongly as before.

He pouted with a reluctant face, and Shin Jeong-ah grabbed one of his shoulders and whined, pulling him up.

He was able to get up without help, and was able to leave the classroom using crutches.

    “What’s for lunch today?”

Shin Jeong-ah asked refreshingly, as if it were a quiz show.

Kang In-ho felt like he was back in the military and remembered the menu.

“I only remember Gondre and Namulbap.”

    “It’s not tasty.”

As Shin Jeong-ah grumbled, Kang In-ho narrowed his eyes and glared at her.

Gondre vegetable rice is so delicious, of course, I started eating it in my 30s…

He felt upset because his favorite food was undervalued.

    Either way, Shin Jeong-ah smiled.

“Do you just want to go to the snack bar? Or a convenience store?”

As if I really didn’t like lunch, Shin Jeong-ah suggested another option.

    “Can’t you see my legs?”

It was natural for Kang In-ho to make a bewildered expression.

Even with the concession stand aside, going to the convenience store… was obviously quite a hassle for him with an injured leg.

“Then let’s go to the canteen. Let’s eat bread, bread.”

    Shin Jeong-ah dragged his hand.

In-ho did not hide his complex face as he was pulled by that feeble force.

The canteen was located in a separate building away from the teachers.

Correction, rather than a building, they roughly decorated a container and did business there.

It was originally a warehouse for storing miscellaneous facility items, but was transformed into a more useful facility.

Like the front of the emergency room, the cafeteria was crowded with people.

It was not easy for a student with casts on his arms and legs to fit into the gap.

“Stay here. I’ll go and come back.”

Shin Jeong-ah clenched her hands as if telling her to trust only herself and threw herself directly into the tangled skein of students.

It was a few seconds before I could see the back of him struggling to squeeze in between the male students.

As I was about to worry about Shin Jeong-ah, who had disappeared into the midst of it all, Shin Jeong-ah stuck out her face from the huge mass.

    “Me, take me out!!”

Shin Jeong-ah shouted urgently, and In-ho sighed and grabbed her and dragged her out.

It was already difficult to keep his posture, but In-ho muttered dissatisfiedly as he pulled her out.

    “Ugh! Here.”

Anyway, Shin Jeong-ah smiled and handed him a bag of bread.

It was a little crushed, but the contents didn’t come out, so he accepted it without saying anything.

He and she found a suitable bench and sat down.

Located under the shade of a tree, it was the perfect spot to watch people playing soccer on the playground.

When the soccer-crazy students who had inhaled the food and ran onto the playground began to divide into groups and run around, Inho opened the bag of bread.

It was a chocolate roll cake.

“If you don’t collect stickers, give them to me.”

It must have been bread with character stickers, and a square paper wrapper was included with the bread.

    “Now.”

In-ho handed it over, and Shin Jeong-ah took it with a smile.

She checked the sticker with bright eyes, then frowned.

    “Ah… there is one.”

With great disappointment, she threw the sticker on the ground.

Inho looked at that and lifted the bread to his mouth.

As the gently cut bread entered my mouth, the sweetness spread throughout my mouth.

Perhaps because the party had entered, In-ho watched the scene unfolding before his eyes with a slightly more relaxed expression than before.

The student dribbled alone, passed four students, and scored a goal with a mid-range shot, then performed four consecutive somersaults in celebration.

How the fuck do you do this?

    he thought to himself.

    “It’s cloudy, right?”

While I was quietly chewing bread, I heard Jeong-ah’s words.

    Inho raised his head.

They say the autumn sky is high, but today the clouds were thick.

“Is it going to rain? It wasn’t in the forecast.”

“So… It will be a bit cold when it rains in the fall.”

    Shin Jeong-ah agreed.

    “…….”

Inho chewed the bread without saying any more.

    ‘Let’s get some milk too.’

    He grumbled inwardly.

That’s how time passed at school.

    “Wow… it’s raining a lot.”

As class was ending, it started to rain at a scary rate.

    “Sure.”

In-ho, whose mind had been busy with thoughts about Shin Jeong-ah these days, responded appropriately.

    “Can I borrow an umbrella?”

“It will be at the entrance, and I will give it to you when you leave.”

“Okay, thank you. Well… then shall we stop here for today?”

Yoon Sia glanced at the clock and said.

“Yes. Thank you for your hard work.”

    “You did the hard work.”

Yoon Si-ah looked at Kang In-ho strangely.

In-ho found an umbrella at the entrance and handed it to Yoon Sia.

    “Don’t come out.”

Despite Yoon Si-ah’s refusal, In-ho came out to see her off at the front gate.

    “It’s in front. ”

He opened his share of umbrellas and followed behind Yoon Sia, moving his feet carefully.

Yun Shia opened the huge iron door and came out.

“A taxi will come soon. So listen…”

Yoon Sia couldn’t finish her words and screamed in shock.

Seeing her strange behavior, Inho hurried out the front door.

    And what he saw

    “Inho….”

It was Shin Jeong-ah crouching in front of the gate, looking like a drowned rat.

    “Jeong-ya. Why are you…?”

When he asked with wide eyes, Shin Jeong-ah said with a weak smile.

“I got caught. To my parents.”
