Chapter Index

Amy entered the building and destroyed the statue without a moment’s hesitation.

The White King’s energy flowing out of her body greatly shook my current field.

The situations that had been flowing into my head were distorted, but now that I had solved the problem, I felt like I didn’t need to use my abilities anymore.

As I was waiting for Amy to contact me, a call came on my cell phone.

    “Yes.”

[Yeah. Jeff? I broke the statue like you said.]

“Did something come out from inside?”

[That’s right. The amplifier that Jin showed me back then was inside.]

    “That’s fortunate.”

    [Yeah. That’s fortunate…]

Amy’s small sigh can be heard over the phone.

I could guess why she was sighing.

When I looked into the school structure, there was not a single person inside the classroom where the statue was installed.

Since no one was looking for that place, it was unknown who the psychic was.

[I’ll go over there first. Don’t open the door and stay there. Got it?]

    “Yes.”

The call ended like that, and not long after, Amy came to the teachers’ office.

In one hand she held an amplifier covered in gravel dust.

It looked similar to the amplifier Jin had shown me, except for the size.

“Good job Jeff. Thanks to you, I was able to find it quickly.”

Amy complimented me, but I shook my head.

I wasn’t the one who discovered this.

I didn’t even feel anything strange.

“I didn’t find it. My baby found it.”

I called the child who was climbing to the highest point of the school building.

She, who had been receiving a huge amount of radio waves, landed on my hand in a drooping state.

    “Are you okay?”

    Dismissal-

Instead of answering, Little Amy let out a small spark.

I felt a sad smile on my face because it seemed like he was telling me not to tell him because it was hard.

I placed little Amy on my head, who was drooping, and spoke to her.

    “Amy. Where did Victor go?”

“Well, I went around the school, but I didn’t see Victor.”

    I couldn’t find Victor either.

The fact that the electric field that covered the entire school couldn’t detect Victor’s familiar wavelength means that Victor is not here right now.

We followed Amy out of the teachers’ office.

People in black suits were running around trying to calm the commotion, but it seemed like they could not stop the anxiety that was spreading like a wave among the students.

What was supposed to be a fun festival was a mess.

A slumping atmosphere settled over the entire school.

While looking around like that, Shine tilted her head and said to Amy.

“Amy. Why are only the adults hurt?”

When I heard it, it was like that.

As Shine said, all the people who were carried away injured were adults.

Not a single young student was injured.

“I’m trying to figure out why now. Students don’t seem to be affected by psychic abilities.”

    “Hmm…”

I folded my arms and sat lost in thought at Amy’s words.

Shine also seemed to remember something and took the same stance as me.

The range of the newly introduced psychic ability user seemed to be quite wide.

Perhaps, so that it can be used even from quite a distance.

If you think about Jin’s abilities, it seems similar.

And another thing that’s not certain is that his powers don’t work on children.

I let out a deep sigh and sat down.

The hot stairs were burning my buttocks, but my legs were so weak that I couldn’t even think about getting up.

    I had high expectations.

We also prepared the cafe diligently.

    Everything was a mess.

As I was staring blankly at the playground with my chin resting on my hand, Amy’s cell phone started ringing loudly.

    Fit-!

At that moment, a small radio wave falls over your head.

    I realized it right away.

The disconnected telecommunications connection has returned to normal.

Text messages and calls that I hadn’t received before started pouring in.

My, Shine’s, and Rain’s phones were relatively quiet, but Amy looked very busy.

    “Is the festival over…?”

“Rain said, taking off her hanging rabbit headband.

Seeing that the smile that was always on her lips was nowhere to be seen, it seems that she too had high expectations.

    Shine had her usual expression.

I couldn’t open the cafe that I had prepared so hard for. Do you not mind?

As I looked at her with concern, Shine patted my head with a small smile.

    “I’m okay.”

    “But you prepared hard.”

Although the conversation was quite truncated, we had a good understanding of what each other was saying.

“As long as Jeff is safe, that’s fine.”

    “Ugh…”

I sighed again at Shine’s words.

The bright sunlight illuminated the playground without even noticing my feelings.

Anyway, the festival is over, so I hope it rains a lot…

    “Jeff.”

    “Huh?”

At that moment, Amy came to me, who was completely exhausted, and said.

“Are you sad that the festival was a mess?”

“Yeah… I had high hopes. I wanted to have a good time with Amy. But it all went to shit.”

    “I see.”

“Yes. That’s why I can’t forgive those bad guys.”

I couldn’t say for sure that it was done by the lab, but I had a feeling that it was.

    “The festival isn’t over yet.”

“Yes? But I don’t think we can start the festival again in this state?”

    “Let’s wait for Jin.”

Amy hugged me with a trusting smile, as if she had a corner of faith.

I leaned my head on Amy’s shoulder with my body slumped.

Amy patted me on the back and made a phone call to someone.

    [Amy? Are you okay?]

The voice on the other end of the phone sounded familiar.

    It was Jin’s voice.

“Yes. I’m fine. I think things are pretty much sorted out here. How about other places?”

[Thanks to Victor’s hard work, I have some free time.]

    “Was Victor there?”

I raised my head at Amy’s words.

I wondered where he had gone, and it turned out he had gone to help Jin with his work.

I sighed in relief, thinking that I had worried for nothing.

“Anyway, after everything is over, you’re going to go and handle the situation?”

[That’s right. We can’t let the general public know about this.]

    “Then please come from here.”

[School? That doesn’t matter, but why?]

“The festival was a total mess. Can we start it over again?”

To Amy’s question, Jin remained silent.

After a moment of silence, Jin said.

[Will it be hard to start over?]

    “Really?”

[Anyway, I’ll do what I can. Don’t expect too much.]

    With that, the call ended.

As I listened to the conversation between the two, I slowly raised my head and started to flap my legs in anticipation.

“Oh, can we really start over again?”

I looked around and asked Amy.

    “That’s right.”

Amy made sure no one got out until Gene arrived.

People trying to return home protested, but the firmly shut school gate showed no sign of opening.

Amy placed people around it to make sure no one could climb over the wall.

In Amy’s way of naturally commanding a large number of people, I could catch a glimpse of Grandpa Ferman.

It wasn’t long before Jin arrived.

As soon as Amy saw Jin coming through the warp, she led him to the highest point of the school.

I climbed the stairs, opened the door to the rooftop, and entered, where the high sky spread out before me.

    “As I said before. Don’t expect anything…”

Jin spoke to Amy, who was pushing him away, as if he was not confident.

I looked at Jin with eyes full of anticipation.

Jin stood at the edge of the railing and took a deep breath.

The moment I focused more on him, wondering what he was going to do, he took a whistle out of his bosom and blew it with all his might.

    Beep beep beep beep!

A unique, high-pitched sound spreads out in all directions.

It was a peculiar sound that would make anyone turn around to look at it.

While I was gaping at his absurd appearance, he took out a green glowing stone from his bosom.

“Ah- Ah- Is everyone watching here?”

Green energy started to spread out in all directions from the stone.

Along with that, Jin’s voice also spreads in a wide direction.

The first whistle, as if intended to attract people’s attention, began to sound like a normal voice.

“Did you have a problem? Everyone does. But. It’s okay. It wasn’t a big deal.”

The green energy did not stop.

It started from the rooftop and spread out, sweeping away the people standing below.

Everyone, adults and children alike, begins to focus on Jin’s voice.

“Everyone will be okay. Yes. It’s okay. Just focus on that.”

At first glance, Jin’s muttering seemed like a madman, as if he was having a direct conversation with the people below.

He, who had been using his powers on people like that, suddenly sighed and turned around.

Amy asked with a surprised expression at the sudden appearance.

    “Jin?”

“Ah. This is going to be hard?”

    “Why?”

“The kids are fine. The adults are the problem. To be exact, the adults who were influenced by the psychic abilities.”

“Then what should we do? Should we just take care of those people separately?”

At Amy’s question, Jin’s expression distorted strangely.

I looked up at Amy, my mouth wide open at her terrifying statement.

“No, that’s not necessary. I just need something to grab everyone’s attention for a moment.”

“Something that will catch your eye?”

“Yeah. Everyone should be out of their minds watching that.”

Jin’s words reminded me of something.

Something that will catch everyone’s attention.

Isn’t there someone right next to you who can make something like that?

I quickly reached out and grabbed Rain.

    “Rain!”

    “Uh, yeah?”

    “Please!”

    “What, what?”

Rain flinched, seeming greatly taken aback by my sudden call.

I said, holding her shoulder tightly.

    “Make me a whale!”

    “Oh, whale?”

“Yeah! I made a cloud whale before!”

“Oh, oh. Right. There was a cloud whale.”

At my words, Rain immediately raised his hand and began to call clouds into the sky.

Clouds are starting to gather in the clear, cloudless sky.

It started to coalesce into a single point and began to form a huge shape.

Just imagine, if a whale-shaped cloud suddenly appeared in the sky, everyone would look at it.

What if that whale even moves there?

Lane began adding refinement to the whale.

The whale began to move its body, waving its fins in the vast sky like the sea.

I, who was watching the scene from the side, spread out both arms wide and raised them high into the sky like Rain.

If it was just to grab attention for a moment, I could do it too.

A technique learned while creating Lightning Dinosaurs for little Amy.

Creates a lightning tyrannosaurus in the air.

    Crackle- Crackle-!

    Krrrr!

What started as a small spark transformed into a huge bolt of lightning, forming the shape of a giant dinosaur.

    Quagga River!

The moment Lightning Tyranno opened his mouth wide and roared, the sound of thunder filled the sky.

Lightning Tyrannosaurus, as big as a whale, quickly climbed onto a cloud whale swimming in the sky.

    “Ahh. My whale!”

The whale was crushed by the giant Tyrannosaurus riding on it, but it barely managed to avoid collapsing thanks to Rain’s delicate cloud control.

A giant whale and a Tyrannosaurus danced across the sky.

Jin didn’t miss the opportunity and used his power.

A green aura spread across the blue sky.
