Chapter Index

    “Shit…? What does that mean?”

    Luke asked.

    Jeong Yu-shin shrugged his shoulders.

“It means the Crown Prince sent people who are like shit. We need to watch the warrior a little more, though.”

“I’m not sure if they’re shit-like people, but that young wizard is something else. I could feel his magic power from far away. I heard something like heat haze was rising from his body, is that right?”

Jeong Yu-shin nodded. As expected of an elder of the Magic Tower, he was very interested in wizards.

    “That’s right.”

    Luke interjected.

    “How was the priest?”

“He hated beastmen. I don’t know yet if he hates other demihumans too.”

    Luke sighed softly.

    “Hoo. It won’t be easy.”

    “Why are you worried?”

“If that warrior party receives their engravings, wouldn’t they come to the temple that serves the Spirit God to get it confirmed? And those who serve Lux Aeterna? My head is already throbbing.”

“Let’s suffer a little in our old age. Working keeps us young.”

    “…”

Luke swept back his white hair and glared at Jeong Yu-shin.

Jeong Yu-shin continued without paying attention.

“That’s the general first impression. I plan to get to know the rest little by little as we travel together. It feels like I’m eating shit, though.”

Jeong Yu-shin leaned back in his chair with his arms crossed.

The guys in front of him aren’t the problem.

    ‘The Crown Prince.’

He was curious about the Crown Prince’s intentions. It would be easier to figure out if they could talk openly, but that’s impossible. Because the Crown Prince isn’t in the city.

Does he just want to screw with them?

Or does he have another plan?

“By the way, how was the warrior?”

    Hook-nose asked.

Jeong Yu-shin scratched his chin and blurted out.

    “Pretty.”

    “Huh?”

    “I said she’s pretty.”

    Certainly, Cyan was beautiful.

He didn’t know her exact figure because she was wearing thick plate armor, but she was tall enough to reach his neck.

Her dark blonde hair, long eyelashes, and calmly sunken golden eyes were attractive.

Luke and Matthias stared blankly at Jeong Yu-shin.

Jeong Yu-shin made a sullen expression.

“Why are you looking at me like that?”

“You, don’t tell me… no way, right?”

    “No, but the warrior…?”

‘These old men. What do they think I am.’

“I’m not that kind of person. It was difficult to measure her overall combat ability, but her strength and agility were superior to mine.”

It was obvious that she had systematically learned swordsmanship.

Jeong Yu-shin tapped the table and finished the story.

“Let’s stop here. I’ll have to watch them a little more while traveling together.”

    * * *

    Exploration Guild Headquarters.

Explorers with nothing to do sat huddled together.

Lately, there are definitely two rising topics of conversation in the labyrinth city.

The news that the warrior and her companions had entered the city.

The other was the rumor about the mixed-blood Barbaroi, Scaa.

    “Hey, is that really true?”

    To someone’s question, a middle-aged man yelled.

“How many times have I told you?! It’s true! I saw it clearly! The ‘abomination’ swung his greatsword with his eyes closed on the risen highlands, and cut off the ogre’s head!”

“How can he do it with his eyes closed? I can’t understand it at all.”

“Aren’t you going back and forth because of your mania?”

“Would a married woman’s anus lover be in his right mind?”

    “What?! You people?!”

Just as the middle-aged man was about to slam the table with an angry expression.

    Someone approached.

The movements of the people stiffened. They couldn’t not know. Because he was one of the rising figures in the city.

    The warrior.

She was as beautiful and overwhelming as the rumors said.

    “I have something to ask.”

    “What are you curious about?”

At the warrior’s question, the middle-aged man carefully replied.

Even though she was a person from the Empire, the opponent was a woman who had killed a follower of an outer god.

Unless he was crazy, he couldn’t openly express hostility.

    “Is someone named Scaa famous?”

“Yes. He has achieved many crazy accomplishments. He is a great person.”

“Can you tell me about him?”

    “No. That’s a bit… I’m busy today. Well then.”

The middle-aged man scratched his head and hurriedly got up and walked away.

    Cyan smiled bitterly.

They weren’t openly hostile to her, but quite a few explorers were wary and slowly avoiding her.

    ‘It’s difficult.’

It was inevitable, since the relationship between the Empire and the Union wasn’t good.

However, she thought it was fortunate that there were people who answered her questions kindly.

    In fact.

Cyan felt like her soul had been taken away these past few days. Because there were many strange things she had never seen in the Empire.

She was really surprised when she saw monsters walking around the streets. She was even more surprised that they used to be people.

    And the engravings.

Rumors about engravings were widespread even in the Empire, so she had heard them until her ears were sore, but when she came here, there were more diverse engravings than she had heard.

    The outfits were also varied.

She was ashamed when she saw a female warrior wearing a preposterous armor on the street.

‘Barely covering her breasts and genitals.’

She wondered if that armor would provide any protection, so she went and asked.

The female warrior’s answer was surprising.

Did she say that she had obtained a naturalist engraving, so her defense increased the more naked she was?

Of course, there were some people who stuck to ordinary clothes, but even those people didn’t care about the clothes of others.

She also saw an elf and an orc walking down the street arm in arm like lovers.

She also saw a woman with a succubus engraving and a young warrior heading to the labyrinth together.

A labyrinth city where common sense and nonsense coexist.

    What should she say?

    It’s free.

    ‘Stop.’

Cyan shook her head to shake off the thoughts in her head.

Her mission was to go deep into the labyrinth with her companions. And to seal the interdimensional passage.

    She mustn’t get distracted.

Cyan came out of the explorer headquarters and looked up at the west.

She could see a black rock towering high.

    ‘That’s it.’

    The labyrinth.

She mustn’t let her guard down. Just because she had received the power of Lux Aeterna didn’t mean she would neglect her training.

    ‘I wonder if there’s a swordsmanship guild?’

    Cyan looked around and walked.

    As she walked south.

She saw a girl and a dog standing in front of a small bakery.

    ‘A dog…?’

His body was a dog, but his face was a cute pretty boy.

    Cyan approached.

    “Hello?”

A white-haired, red-eyed girl turned her head and looked at Cyan, then flinched and stepped back.

    “Wh-what’s the matter?”

Cyan swallowed a bitter smile. Well, they wouldn’t look kindly on a warrior from the Empire.

“Do you happen to know where the swordsmanship guild is?”

“Which swordsmanship guild are you looking for? There are many swordsmanship guilds in the city.”

“Isn’t there one in the southern district?”

    “There is one, but…?”

    “Could you guide me there?”

“I have something to do, so it’s difficult. The swordsmanship guild is a little north of the southern park.”

    “Thank you.”

    Cyan turned and walked away.

Eru looked at the warrior’s back, then tapped Armin’s head, who was pursing his lips.

“I was surprised to suddenly meet the warrior. We bought enough groceries, should we go back?”

    “I understand.”

Cyan looked around the streets as she walked. It was a more run-down area than the central district in many ways, but it smelled of people.

As she asked people on the street for directions, she saw a building.

    That’s the swordsmanship guild.

She recognized it at a glance. Because there were many people with weapons around the building.

When she went inside the building, a shaggy-haired boy was sitting at the counter.

“Is this your first time here? The registration fee is 20 silver coins.”

    “Per day?”

    “Per month.”

Cyan rummaged through her clothes and placed 1 gold coin on the counter.

The shaggy-haired boy widened his eyes and looked at the gold coin, then put it in the desk drawer and picked up a pen.

    “What’s your name?”

    “Cyan.”

    “…Warrior.”

    “That’s right.”

    “Why did you come here?”

    “I came to train.”

    “I understand. Please follow me.”

The shaggy-haired boy got up and went out the back door.

Cyan followed the boy and went outside, where she saw a yard.

And a familiar face came into view.

    Cyan’s eyes widened.

    ‘A Barbaroi?’

The black-haired man she had seen a few days ago was swinging a huge single-edged axe with gusto.

The opponent was a bald middle-aged man.

The bald man was swinging a greatsword with a pale face.

    “Scaa! Control your strength!”

“Wuah ha ha ha!!! Vice Guild Leader! I’ll take that position today!!!”

    “You crazy bastard!”

    Clang!!!

    Clang!!!

Cyan watched the fight with her arms crossed.

    ‘As expected.’

He wasn’t an ordinary fighter. He was swinging it based on instinct, but he was supplementing his lack of natural strength with skill.

The bald man, who had been competing for a while, stepped back.

“I can’t do it anymore. My joints are aching.”

“Scaa can do it all day! Scaa is strong!”

The bald man sighed and turned his head.

    “Warrior?”

    Cyan smiled bitterly.

She had been walking around the city for the past few days, so it seemed her face was too well known.

The Barbaroi ran to Cyan in one stride and stood in front of her.

    “Oh!!! Cyan!!! What’s the matter?!!”

    Cyan’s nose twitched.

Because there was a faint sweet scent mixed in with the smell of sweat. It was a smell she had never smelled before in her life, but she didn’t show it.

    “I came to train.”

    “Where are the other companions?!!”

“They’re resting. They seem to be very tired from the trip.”

“Is that so?!! I understand!!! Let’s spar!!!”

Cyan smiled and was about to draw her sword when she saw the bald man.

“Are you the Vice Guild Leader?”

“That’s right. Did you pay the membership fee?”

    “Yes.”

“Feel free to use it. Do you need separate swordsmanship instruction?”

    “A spar is enough.”

    “As you wish.”

Cyan drew her sword and sparred with Scaa.

She faced Scaa while reducing her strength and speed appropriately. There was no need to use Lux Aeterna’s power during the spar.

Still, it was more intense than a normal spar, so she sweated a little.

    “Scaa, let’s stop here.”

Cyan sheathed her sword and stepped back. It seemed like they had sparred for about 2 hours, but Scaa didn’t seem to be tired at all. He had sweated a lot, though.

“Heoeok!!! Heoeok!!! Cyan is strong!!! Scaa has fallen for you again!!! Give birth to my baby!!!”

Cyan smiled. He was an incorrigibly honest Barbaroi.

The Barbaroi approached and sniffed her face.

“Hueueueup!!! Cyan smells good!!! I want to lick your armpit!!!”

    “Eup?! Th-that guy!”

Cyan, flustered, pushed the Barbaroi away.

The Barbaroi was pushed back without resistance and laughed loudly.

“Euhahaha!!! Scaa is going to the bathhouse!!! Are you going with me?!!”

    Cyan shook her head.

“I’ll wash separately. I didn’t bring any clothes to change into.”

“Is that so?! Let’s definitely take a bath together later!!!”

The Barbaroi waved his hand and left the swordsmanship guild like the wind.

    ‘Like a storm.’

He was as cheerful and cool as his axe wielding.

The words “I want to lick your armpit” were a bit creepy, though.

She imagined what he would look like if he brushed back his shaggy hair, then shook her head.

    ‘Useless thoughts.’

Cyan finished training and returned to the inn in the central district.

The priest Luther and the wizard Sebastian were standing in front of her door.

Luther approached with a gentle smile.

    “Warrior, where have you been?”

“I looked around the explorer headquarters and went to the swordsmanship guild to train for a while. How are you feeling?”

“Thanks to your concern, I’m feeling better. But where is Gibson…?”

“He went to drink early in the morning.”

Sebastian’s face became irritable at Cyan’s answer.

“Can’t that old man live without alcohol?”

Cyan smiled bitterly and brought up the main point.

“I plan to go to the explorer guild in 3 days to register and enter the labyrinth, is that okay?”

    The priest Luther nodded.

“That’s good. Actually, for the past few days, I thought you were wandering around the streets without saying anything, and I thought you might have been captivated by the licentious culture of the labyrinth city, but I was wrong.”

    Cyan shook her head.

    “How could that be?”

    Sebastian interjected.

“Priest, our warrior is not someone who can be seduced by those stupid Eastern Union guys.”

“I see. It’s my fault for not having enough faith.”

The priest and wizard laughed and talked.

Cyan smiled softly and turned her body.

“Then have a good night, both of you.”

“Yes. Have a comfortable night, Warrior.”

Cyan grabbed the doorknob and felt a sense of frustration for some reason.

Then she thought of the Barbaroi laughing cheerfully.

    ‘Stop it.’

Either way, they are her companions. Even if they speak harshly, they worked well together when they actually fought together.

If it weren’t for them, it would have been more difficult to defeat the follower of the outer god.

Besides, aren’t they the companions that Crown Prince designated?

    ‘Don’t have useless thoughts.’

    * * *

Jeong Yu-shin, who had returned to the inn, slammed his head on the table.

    “Damn it.”

I want to lick the warrior’s armpit.

Even if he blurted it out without thinking, didn’t he cross the line?

Could it be that he’s going to be kicked out of the warrior party?

Jeong Yu-shin tore at his hair.

‘The darkness of the labyrinth is too deep.’
