Chapter Index

    Dismissal- Dismissal-

Blue electricity flashed and blinded my eyes.

    “Jeff.”

    “Ugh…”

I lowered my head under Shine’s intense gaze and observed her.

After finishing her training, Shine approached me as usual, hiding her presence and hugging me from behind.

If it were normal, he would have laughed and rubbed his cheek against mine.

If it were normal, that is.

Shine was standing away from me, holding onto my arm.

As long as I was covered in tingling sensations, Shine couldn’t touch my body.

“Look at this, Shine! Victor made Jeff do this deal. He said he had to stay like that all day!”

Rain went to Shine and told her about Victor’s misdeeds.

Hearing those words, Shine bit her lips hard.

    “That’s what Jeff wanted?”

“Uh… I have to pass Victor’s test. That way I can become stronger.”

“How did your ability development go?”

    “That’s…”

“You can’t get stronger with that?”

    I couldn’t answer Shine’s words.

Rather than taking an uncertain path, I wanted to follow the sure path that Victor showed me.

Finally, after staring at me for a while, Shine let out a big sigh and approached me.

I looked at Shine with great tension.

What if I approach again and Shine gets sick?

If you don’t come to me anymore because you’re so tingly, if you don’t come to me because of the painful memories even after releasing your ability, I’ll be so sad.

The closer I got to Shine, the more I hesitated.

    I was worried.

    Should I unlock the ability?

But Victor told me to keep it that way today…

Shine, who had been approaching me with a faint smile, whether or not she knew my worries, stopped at a certain distance and then opened her mouth.

“I think this should be okay?”

I took a step back at Shine’s words.

Then she took a step closer to me as soon as I moved.

I stepped back again to match her movements.

But Shine approached me again, as if she had already predicted my movements.

Shine spoke to me, who was looking at her with curiosity.

“It’ll be okay if you do this. Because that’s what Jeff wanted. I’ll put up with it for today. But tomorrow, I’ll touch it a lot.”

    “I, I’ll touch it too!”

Rain, who was listening to Shine, wiggled his hand as if he wanted to touch it too.

Under the intense gazes of the two people, I nodded while caressing my cheek.

    “Ugh… I can’t help it today. If it’s tomorrow…”

Shine laughed heartily at my words.

I felt a chill for some reason as I watched her smile.

The place where the bug bit me last night turned red and hurt.

    ***

It was quite difficult to go about my daily life with my abilities activated.

First of all, electronic devices became unusable.

I had to move my laptop from my desk to Shine’s seat because it started malfunctioning just by touching it.

    “Over there. Shine~”

I sat down on the chair and looked at Shine as I spoke.

    “Yeah.”

    “What are you doing?”

Shine answered, putting down the hand that was holding the mouse.

    “Changing wallpaper.”

    “So. Why mine?”

    “This is prettier.”

I kept my mouth shut at Shine’s answer.

The changed desktop wasn’t Shine’s laptop.

Shine was using the laptop that had been moved from mine to Shine’s seat.

If she was just using it, it wouldn’t be a problem, but she changed the Lucy wallpaper I had saved to her own picture.

    “I liked that…”

    “You’ll like this better.”

It was frustrating to have to use my entire body’s powers in this situation.

I couldn’t get close to Shine because I was afraid she would get hurt.

While she was away, I tried to use her laptop, but it broke and I couldn’t even touch it.

All the circumstances were turning against me.

I was mumbling, but eventually I sighed and nodded.

    “It’s pretty…”

Sure enough, as Shine said, she looked pretty in that swimsuit.

Now that I was using my powers, there were only two people who could touch me: Amy and Victor.

Amy burst into laughter as she saw her hair sticking up while using her powers.

    “Victor is doing this?”

    “Yes.”

    “All day today?”

    “Yes.”

Amy smiled and held out her hand.

A hand surrounded by white energy gently pressed down my hair that was sticking up.

The hair that had been emitting faint blue lightning now calmly settles down.

But the moment Amy takes her hand away, the hair that had been sinking rises once again.

Amy found this situation amusing and played with my hair like a toy.

“Amy. This is a very important test.”

“Yeah. It’s a very important test.”

“Oh my. Stop touching your hair.”

I avoided Amy’s hand and walked away from her.

Amy’s hands kept touching and leaving, making it difficult to control the power output.

“Anyway, I have to stay like this today. Be careful. Got it?”

    “Yeah!”

    Are you really being careful?

Amy answered with a big smile, then took out her cell phone and took a picture of me.

Since I was used to having my picture taken, I posed naturally.

I too welcomed leaving my wonderful image behind.

He crosses his arms and places his foot on the ground, creating a delinquent atmosphere.

And the point is to glare slightly.

Amy burst out laughing at my appearance.

    Ahahahaha-!

I was very embarrassed when I saw Amy’s smiling face.

This wasn’t a funny pose, it was a really cool pose.

When I showed it to Shine, Appleton, and Lane, they all said I was cool.

What a cool, really cool pose, but you shouldn’t be laughing?

I quickly struck a second cool pose.

Stand with your legs shoulder-width apart and your arms stretched high into the sky.

The outstretched fingers reach up high as if they could pierce the sky.

    The head looks straight ahead.

    And wait for praise.

Appleton, Shine, and Lane applauded while striking this pose.

But Amy gave me compliments that were different from what I expected.

    “So cute!”

“This is not a cute pose. It’s a cool pose.”

But Amy never once complimented me on how cool I was.

I turned my head away with my arms crossed.

    “Jeff! Look here!”

Even if you say that, I won’t forgive you.

I ignored Amy’s words and turned my head away again.

Whoosh – In an instant, white hair fluttered on his head.

The output of the ability fluctuated greatly depending on emotions.

    Dismissal- Dismissal-

It goes from 10 percent to 5 percent, then up to 40 percent.

    Phage crackle-!

Blue lightning, revealing a strong presence, began to flash in all directions.

I quickly calmed down the output at the sight.

    “After-”

A sigh that is slowly exhaled.

I quickly looked around, but fortunately, nothing seemed to have been swept away by my ability.

I rubbed the soot marks on the office floor with my shoe.

    “Are you crazy?”

    “I’m not crazy.”

I turned and walked away, answering Amy’s words.

I returned to my original seat and spoke to Shine and Rain next to me.

“Over there. Shine. Rain, there’s that pose I showed you earlier.”

    “Yeah.”

“Isn’t that cool? Amy says it’s cute.”

Shine smiled slightly at my words and answered.

“In Amy’s eyes, Jeff would look cute no matter what he did.”

“No matter how cool it is?”

“Yeah. It’ll look cool and cute.”

“I like cool things more than cute things. Like dinosaurs.”

I answered Shine’s question and laid down on the desk.

I know it looks cute, but I don’t like it one bit.

    I like cool things.

    Like these dinosaurs.

I reached out and grabbed the stone dinosaur that was displayed on the desk.

Those guys, who had become very manly and even dressed in cool colors, were my precious treasures.

    ***

The end of the exam was approaching.

    During dinner, Victor said:

Come to the training grounds at 10 o’clock this evening.

When I arrived at the training ground, I checked the time.

It was just past 9:50 p.m.

As it was usually time for bed, I was starting to feel sleepy.

    “Victor isn’t here?”

I glanced around the training grounds at Rain’s words.

As she said, Victor was nowhere to be seen.

It was very strange that Victor, who was usually very punctual, didn’t show up.

    “Jeff.”

    “Huh?”

    “Be careful.”

My body was the first to react to Shine’s sudden warning.

The moment something touched the blue electricity that was wrapping around my body, my body, which remembered the movements through repeated training, moved.

My body twisted slightly, and at the same time something brushed my cheek.

    Ting-!

What brushed past my cheek was an iron bar enveloped in blue light.

It wasn’t very fast, but if it had hit, it wouldn’t have ended in a stinging finish.

I looked in the direction the iron bar had come from.

There stood Victor, his whole body covered in blue lightning.

“10 minutes. Keep it that way for the rest of the time.”

    Victor’s final test has begun.

Shine and Rain noticed that Victor and I had started our training/test and moved away.

I sat there silently listening to his words.

Legs ready to spring forward at any moment, with a slightly lowered body.

The hand stretched out low was taking out an iron bar from his pocket.

Victor and I started moving without saying who would go first.

I unleashed a current field at the sight of Victor approaching me at high speed, leaving behind a blue afterimage.

Victor’s movements, which disperse the steady flow, are transmitted to my mind.

I could tell without even looking.

I kicked the ground and jumped up.

    Tadadang!

The iron bar that had been driven down where I was scattered with a cheerful sound.

As I floated into the air, I moved my body to the warnings flying around me.

It was very difficult to attack while maintaining a constant output.

The moment you decide to attack and gather strength in your hands, the power wrapped around your entire body naturally increases.

In the end, I chose to run away.

I created a path by shooting blue lightning in a straight line.

The straight path of electricity moved my body to the ground.

I came down with the light and immediately dodged Victor’s attack.

Arms and legs stretch out, surrounded by blue light.

Every time his arms and legs lightly brush against your body, the output shakes greatly.

The rising output was approaching 30 percent.

“Phajijik-” Victor shouted at the noticeable change in electricity.

    “Jeff!”

    “No!”

    I asked this strongly.

It wasn’t easy to move my body while controlling my abilities.

Eventually, I gave up all control over my body.

The body has become slender, but the output has changed to maintain a constant state.

    Automatic combat stance.

Victor looked at me with a puzzled expression as I suddenly let go of my strength.

He doesn’t know, because he hasn’t demonstrated this skill yet.

The reason I didn’t show it was very simple.

This was because the technology was still incomplete.

Victor’s hesitation did not last long.

    He tried to attack again.

In an instant, his fist approaches and extends towards me.

    Still, I didn’t prepare anything.

The moment Victor’s attack touched the electric field, my body began to react.

Through long training, movements ingrained in the body are deployed according to the situation.

    That’s why it’s unfinished.

That’s why the movements are awkward.

The period during which I was trained by Victor was not more than a year.

It means that you haven’t yet perfected the movements in your body.

As time goes on, and you train more and learn more different movements, this skill will become more perfect.

No matter how intense the movement is, the output remains constant.

As the fight continues, the wounds on his arms and legs increase.

First of all, I couldn’t move.

All my body can do now is react to my opponent’s movements.

Endless defense continues without even a counterattack.

    That’s how you endure time.

Victor seemed to notice something strange along the way and distanced himself from me.

    My body sags once again.

    My legs are shaking.

Victor looked at me blankly and then released his powers and said.

    “It’s the promised time.”

I looked up at Victor’s words and checked my watch.

The clock was pointing to 10 o’clock.

It meant that he had passed the test.
