Chapter Index

After finally finding the kids, eating and taking a shower, it was soon time to go to bed.

The kids were very cute. Except for one factor.

    “Why aren’t you sleeping….”

    “Scream!”

Even though it had been a while since the sun had set, the children showed no signs of doing well.

    “I think it’s because I’m still young.”

“Because you’re young, shouldn’t you sleep more? You need to sleep well to grow quickly…”

Arjen bursts into laughter at my grumbling.

“Hehe, Eugene still treats our kids like human beings. Normally, dragons spend several days with their eyes open and then sleep for several days at a time.”

    “It’s an unhealthy sleeping pattern.”

“Isn’t it inevitable since we live such a long life?”

“No, that has nothing to do with living a long time…”

Animals that live much longer than humans also have daily life patterns, with the only difference being whether they are diurnal or nocturnal.

Just looking at the fact that Arjen sleeps at the same time as me, there’s no rule that says you can’t live by the day just because you’re a dragon.

“It will take another year to get used to this…”

The children continued to walk around the room wondering what was so exciting.

    “Abeuu~!!”

Instead of sleeping, I made a fuss at the door trying to get out.

    “Okay… let’s play, play.”

I got up from the bed and opened the door. As soon as the door was opened, the two children ran out of the door as if they had been waiting for this.

    “Are you okay?”

“It’s okay. Because I don’t need to sleep anymore.”

During the 50 years I was away from Arjen, I actually slept only a handful of days.

Wayne and Orha were, after all, human and needed to sleep consistently, so they took on the responsibility of keeping watch.

In the dwarf village, they spent the night on guard, not knowing when Akasha would reappear.

I’ve had days like that, but what’s the big deal about all-night child care?

    “Ugh….”

There was a time when I thought that too.

    “Kyaarrr! Sigh!”

    “Buaah! Dad! Bah!”

    “Ugh… I’m dad….”

Parenting was more difficult than expected. I thought I would be able to endure physical labor and mental fatigue because I had become a god, but a completely different energy was consumed.

A high level of concentration is required because it is a constant imminent situation where you cannot predict when and where an accident will occur.

The thing that really bothers me is that even though I know that Arjen said it’s okay because he won’t get hurt in most cases, I’m naturally worried.

    “Ouch!”

    “Profit!”

    “Ugh! Cum, you can’t fight!”

The two children looked away for a moment and then pulled each other’s cheeks. I rush over and this time he grabs my cheek and hangs down.

    “Uuuuu~!”

    “Scream!”

    “Kyaaa!”

Yeah… it’s not about fighting, it’s about playing.

I also gently pinched the two children’s cheeks and pulled them. Then the children laughed and loved it.

    “Eujin, are you okay?”

Arjen appeared, holding a large plate with both hands. The plate was full of well-cooked steak.

    “What is that?”

“Yes. Nutritious snacks for our children.”

“Steak for the kids born yesterday… Oh, no. I almost made a mistake again.”

I keep saying it, my children are dragons. Contrary to what I thought, we should not hold a child to the same standards as a real human child just because it appears similar to a human being.

“Like that when I was feeding you earlier…”

“Yes. I cooked and fed him meat.”

The children seemed to be distracted by the smell of meat and immediately ran towards Arjen. Arjen picks up meat one by one and puts it in the children’s mouths one by one.

    Mumbling, mumbling….

Children less than 24 hours old chew meat. I confirmed earlier that it had teeth, but seeing it with my own eyes was a surprising sight.

“Is it delicious? Is it delicious?”

    “”Wow!””

“What is yes? I have to say yes~”

    “”Yes!””

“When did you teach them how to speak?”

“When I was in Egg, he talked to me from time to time.”

Taking care of the eggs has been Arjen’s daily routine. Even though I felt like a child, I could feel that I was doing everything I could as a mother.

    Mumbling, mumbling…

It was as if all the noisy chatter just a moment ago was a lie, it was really quiet while eating something.

The sight of him chewing the meat diligently with his sparkling, dazzling eyes twitching was quite cute.

“I’m not saying this because she’s my child, but she’s really pretty.”

Her eyes are big and her eyelashes are long, so she would be perfect as a kid model. Unfortunately, there was nothing like that in this world.

“Right? They say there are very few ugly dragons, but I think ours are exceptionally pretty.”

“Hmm… It would be great if we played a little more carefully, but since it’s the time to run around and have fun.”

“Heehee. Oh, Eugene, try some too.”

Arjen took advantage of the time the two children were chewing the meat diligently to feed me a piece as well.

I could feel the flavor of beef filling my mouth.

    “Beef?”

“Yes! No matter what, I can’t pass on the same tastes as mine to my children…”

Arjen has a habit of eating only the meat of intelligent beings such as humans and elves. There were several anecdotes related to this after meeting me, but in the end, it did not change my eating habits.

A dragon’s eating habits were not fixed at a young age and did not change.

However, I heard from Luv one day that the reason Arjen’s eating habits were so fixed was entirely due to Akasha.

Having watched Akasha’s atrocities in detail in the corridor of memories, I could not help but nod my head when I heard the story.

This is because Akasha pretended to give him all the meat he would normally eat, such as cow, pig, and other poultry, but actually fed him other meat.

In the end, the only meat that does not activate the trigger that triggers Argen’s trauma are intelligent beings, including humans.

“Stop telling depressing stories! Since we won’t be sleeping anymore, why don’t we give the kids names now?”

    “…Well, I can’t keep calling them kids.”

Arjen had a very confident expression.

    “Eujin, speak first!”

“Eh… Are you not confident in the name you came up with?”

“No! Uh, that’s because it’s obvious that if Eugene hears the name I came up with anyway, he’ll say without further ado that we should go with the name I chose!”

    “Then what…”

I spit out the names I had received from Peter one by one. They were all names with beautiful meanings.

“……Now, this much? Now Arjen tell me.”

    “Uuuh….”

Arjen’s face seemed completely intimidated, as if the confident expression from before had disappeared.

“Yu, let’s use the name Eugene came up with.”

    “Huh? Really?”

They say that words become seeds, and really, without looking further, the name was chosen by the person who first spoke. It’s just that Arjen and I’s positions have been reversed.

That’s how Arjen’s children and I got names one day after they were born.

The boy’s name is Asha, which means life. The girl’s name was Adele, meaning peace.

“Asha, Adele. Please don’t get hurt and grow up healthy.”

    “Wow!”

    “Kuu?”

Asha answered energetically, and Adele tilted her head and played it off.

Has he already accepted his name? Arjen seemed to have guessed my question and said with a smile.

“You need to say more so that they know that you are calling them.”

“Ah, was it a coincidence that I just answered…”

“Maybe you just noticed it subconsciously? He’s calling me.”

“Really? Well then, Asha, Adele. Shall we just go in and sleep?”

They both shouted at my words at the same time.

    “”No eye patch!””

    “Oh, that doesn’t work….”

“Hehe, eat this and have more strength.”

I took the meat Arjen gave me again and ate it.

Still, I felt energized because it was beef.

    “Then let’s play again!”

When I jumped up and raised my hands as if to catch them at any moment, Asha and Adele ran away screaming.

    “”Kyaaa!””

    “Stay there!”

I started running around again. Coincidentally, it took exactly forty hours for this game of tag to end.

It was an almost infinite power created by combining the children’s unique physical strength recovery and the dragon’s bloodline.

    “Uuuh… I’m really dying…”

Finally declared giving up. I couldn’t get into the third day and handed the kids over to Wayne and Orha.

“Wow! These children are Arjen and Eugene’s children! He looks exactly like Arzen!”

    “Sure. It’s cute.”

Orha openly liked children, while Wayne pretended not to like them and watched them closely.

“This is not something I would say to my children, but they are both physical monsters. I’m going to rest for a little while, so please take care of me a little.”

“Ay! With a little care, it’s tantalizing! I can take care of you all day long!”

“Really? I hope you don’t regret those words….”

I closed my eyes after saying those words. It’s not dead, it’s just that it’s asleep.

No matter how much sleep is unnecessary, there is nothing better than sleep to soothe a tired body and mind.

When I woke up after sleeping for a few hours, the first thing I saw was Orha lying next to me.

    “……It’s hard, isn’t it?”

In response to my question, Orha just nodded, as if there were ten mouths that had nothing to say.

“What are the kids doing now?”

“Wayne and Arjen are taking charge of each person and playing with them…”

    “I’m so glad I have Wayne…”

    “It’s true….”

It’s not a joke, but I felt like this was the moment where I could truly feel Wayne’s bravery.

“It’s not the time to be like this, but I’m a father and I can’t keep leaving my child in someone else’s hands.”

I got up again excitedly and headed toward where the kids were. Then a shocking scene lurked there.

    “What, what is it?”

    “Shhh.”

Wayne quietly puts his index finger to his mouth. Surprisingly, both Asha and Adele were sleeping with angelic faces.

Gearco Wayne put those two tireless children to sleep.

I was truly in awe of Wayne.
