Chapter Index

    “Wow…”

“You shouldn’t lose what you received?”

    I nodded to Amy’s words.

She handed me, Shine, and Rain a necklace with a small name tag on it that said “Staff.”

“With this, you can go anywhere,” Amy said.

I fiddled with the name tag around my neck.

I was used to moving around with something hanging around my neck.

Perhaps because it was still morning, the event venue seemed busy with various preparations.

Officials running around set up several booths.

In the center of the venue was a large model of a robot of incredible quality.

It was made to life size and was so large that you had to look up at it to see the robot’s head.

Amy led us around and took us on a tour.

I also watched the cosplay team members preparing hard from afar, and was able to follow the staff moving various goods and pick up a small souvenir.

“Where is the Lucy witch costume set?”

When I asked with shining eyes, the man wearing the staff necklace looked troubled.

“Um, well. That’s a limited edition, so I don’t know where it is. I’m only moving items in large quantities.”

    “Uh, um…”

I gave him a sullen look at his words.

He gave us a small sticker set, saying we were cute, and that since there were so many of them prepared, it wouldn’t be noticeable if we missed a few.

    It was inevitable.

    “Thank you!”

I thanked him and put the sticker in my bag.

I thought it would be nice to paste it into a notebook later and decorate it nicely.

But I couldn’t help but feel regret.

I continued to wander around the warehouse moving things around.

    “Jeff.”

    “Huh?”

Was it because I didn’t want to move?

Amy smiled slightly and placed her hand on my head.

I feel like I’m getting shorter.

I stepped aside, holding her hand.

“Is that what you’re looking for?”

“Yes, that’s right. I’m looking for the witch set, but I can’t find it.”

“Then, shall we go over there?”

    Amy gently took my hand.

I looked at the warehouse with regretful eyes, then led her hand and headed to the corner.

There was a small room in a corner, next to which was a sign that said “Staff Break Room.”

    Amy walked in there naturally.

Shine, Rain, and I, who were following behind, also entered the place.

    The room wasn’t very big.

There were piles of snacks, bread, and cup ramen that could be easily eaten, and small water bottles were stacked up to the ceiling.

    “Hello~”

Amy greeted the people resting inside.

They happened to be taking a break and eating bread, so they spotted Amy and jumped up from their seats to answer.

    “Hello!”

They looked very excited, and it seemed like they already knew who Amy was.

I avoided their gaze and stepped behind Amy.

With my head slightly peeking out from my slightly obscured vision, Amy put her hand on my head and said.

“Hey, Jeff? Is there something you want? Should I tell the guys over there?”

At Amy’s words, the gaze that had been directed at her turned to me.

He looked a little young to be called an uncle, but since Amy said he was an uncle, he must be an uncle.

I asked quietly, holding onto Amy’s leg.

“Would you really give it to me if I asked?”

    “Of course.”

Amy answered me by patting me on the back.

I suddenly jumped out from behind her, lowered my head, and held onto the hem of my clothes.

    The gaze was awkward.

    And I was embarrassed.

But, I really wanted to have it.

    Lucy’s full witch costume set!

A cool cone-shaped hat and a cute cape covering the back.

How about a soft robe that covers your entire body?

With the magic wand that Amy had given me as a gift before, I could become Lucy herself.

    “Lord, Lord…”

I opened my mouth with difficulty.

I tried to move my tongue, which was not moving very well, to spit out the words I wanted.

But still, the gaze was awkward.

    It was inevitable.

I shouted loudly with my eyes tightly shut.

“Please give me the Lucy witch costume set!”

I felt a little lighter after letting go of the wish I had kept in my heart.

He opened his eyes slightly, catching his breath, and looked at Amy.

She was shaking as if trying to hold back laughter, and she was holding up her phone to take a picture of me.

    Photo? Or video?

    Anyway, Amy’s behavior was familiar.

    “What are you filming?”

“Shh, Jeff, can you look up there?”

I turned my head as Amy said.

Then, there stood an old man holding a pretty star-shaped box.

When did you get so close?

I was a little surprised, so I tried to take a step back, but the man handed me a box.

    “Oh…”

I accepted the box without saying a word.

A slightly heavy feeling. The twinkling starlight changed its color every time the box was moved slightly.

    This is…

    This is…!

I opened my mouth wide, holding the box in my arms.

    This was Lucy’s travel bag.

Although it was small, Lucy clearly used to carry a bag like this.

    “Gasp…”

I immediately sat down on the floor and opened the box.

Click – The box opened with a small noise and inside were neatly folded robes, a cloak, and a hat.

    “Try it on quickly.”

I wrapped the robe around my body and pulled the hat down on my head as Amy had suggested.

Finally, he jumped up from his seat, wrapped in a sky-blue star-colored cloak.

The smile never left his face.

    “Me, what about me?”

I stood in front of Amy and spun around in place.

The large hat shook as if it would come off, so I didn’t forget to hold it tightly with one hand.

As I was showing off in front of Amy, I suddenly turned my head when I felt gazes from behind me.

Then, the staff members who were looking at this place turned their heads in an instant.

    My stomach was churning.

As I approached Amy with my hat pulled down low and clung to her, Shine, who was standing next to me, looked up at Amy and said.

    “Amy.”

    “Huh?”

“Me too, send that to me too.”

Shine just asked for what Amy had taken.

I don’t know if it’s a video or a photo, but she added something special to her collection.

Shine, who had received something, looked back and forth between me and my phone screen, her eyes shining.

    “Hey, isn’t that weird?”

I looked at everyone and the hem of my robe fluttered.

Because the size was a little big, I was worried that I would look like a child wearing adult clothes.

However, Amy, Shine, and Lane seemed to have different thoughts.

The three of them praised me a lot.

    Enough to be embarrassing.

As my face turned bright red, I pulled my hat down tightly and lowered my head, Shine came up to me and grabbed my hand.

    “Jeff. That’s cool.”

    “Really?”

    “Yeah.”

Shine knows what compliments I like.

He understood very well my desire to hear compliments such as “I’m cool” rather than “I’m pretty” or “I’m cute.”

I put my hands on my hips and let out a “heung” laugh.

I couldn’t help but feel a little proud.

Dressing up like Lucy really made me feel like a witch.

Although I felt empty without my magic wand, I felt great today.

In the excitement of the moment, the lightning that had been dormant inside my body slowly raises its head.

Sparkle sparkle – Shine looks surprised at the blue sparks blooming around her cheeks.

    I immediately sank my power.

We said hello to the staff inside and went out.

    Shine didn’t say hello.

I looked around and spread my arms wide.

Who is the girl wearing Lucy’s witch costume in this large event hall right now?

    Yes, that’s right, it’s Jeff.

    I walked forward, spinning around.

I was so happy I couldn’t keep still.

Rain, who was next to me, seemed unable to keep up and circled around Amy, circling with me.

Even though she was wearing a cute witch costume, no one’s attention was drawn to her, perhaps because of the bracelet.

I was a little dissatisfied with that.

He stood on a high place and tapped the floor.

If I show off my magic like Lucy, will everyone look at me?

Although I felt burdened by people’s gaze, paradoxically, I wanted everyone around me to see how cool I was.

I wanted to run right now and show myself to the staff member over there.

    I want to brag!

I wanted to see someone look at me and envy me.

But that couldn’t be the case.

Because I was shy and cowardly.

I let out a small sigh and sat down on the small stone wall.

The numerous flowers blooming behind the back sway softly.

Rain wandered around here and there without ever getting tired.

Shine, Amy, and I just sat there blankly watching the little chick run around excitedly.

There was still a lot of time left until the event started, so there wasn’t much we could do.

The little chick was running around excitedly when he tripped on a large wire on the floor and fell over.

She looked quite sick, judging by the thumping sound I could hear, but she got up, dusted off my clothes, and started running around again.

    I yawned at the sight.

    “Are you bored?”

    “Yes.”

“Shall we take a break somewhere? It’s lunchtime, after all.”

I nodded to Amy and jumped down from the stone wall.

I checked my phone screen and it was just past 12 o’clock.

It seemed like the event would start after we had lunch and spent some time there.

“What would be good for lunch?”

The moment I was about to answer Amy’s words again with Donkatsu, Rain, who had been far away, came running towards me, shouting loudly.

    “Hamburger!!!”

The voice was so loud that everyone around looked at Lane even though she was wearing a bracelet.

I kept my mouth shut at Rain’s words.

This time it was my turn to lose.

“Then shall we have a hamburger?”

So it was decided that lunch would be hamburger steak.

Shine nodded with a look of dissatisfaction.

After having lunch like that, I was heading to the event venue when I noticed that the line was even longer than before.

    There are many.

    There were too many.

    And it was big.

Although the weather wasn’t that hot, I saw people with their backs soaked with sweat.

We passed them by, who looked a little hot, and were able to enter the event venue right away.

The atmosphere of the event venue had changed a little.

I had only just had lunch, but there were a lot of structures I had never seen before.

    “30 minutes before start!”

The staff were running around busily.

We checked the booths here and there and cleaned the floor thoroughly.
