Chapter Index

After parting ways with Seijis halfway, our Helios Special Operations Department returned home.

Perhaps worried about us, Kalia was standing at the door, so we waved happily.

“So, did you resolve everything well?”

    “Yes, it’s over!”

Having already heard our story, Kalia stepped aside without much to say.

    Her mind seemed troubled.

Even though they were both orphans, some uncles were good people, while others were bad. The world is truly a strange place.

Anyway, it was time to return to reality.

“It’s a good thing we submitted our application in advance.”

    “But studying? What a hassle!”

When we returned and started preparing for the exam again, the professors each had something to say upon seeing the Violets.

“What did you break this time? It wasn’t the academy, was it?”

“Oh, don’t worry! It wasn’t the academy.”

Instructor Frederick clicked his tongue at us.

“Kid, honestly, every time I see you now, I start to get scared. If you get into Aegis, don’t break that place, okay? Huh?”

    “Yes, I understand!”

“If you’re going to say that, at least wipe that off your body first.”

    “Ah!”

Violet laughed awkwardly and wiped off the bloodstains on her body.

“Anyway, it’s over now, so don’t worry!”

We came back, showered, and came out. Irene mumbled.

“Now all that’s left is preparing for the transfer exam. I can’t believe how much time has passed already.”

    “Are you all prepared?”

“Of course. Although I’ve been incredibly busy because of it. I’ll head to the hospital first. I need to check on my father’s condition.”

A transfer admission—Aegis Academy must be a good place.

Our Violets were filled with anticipation.

“There’s also the pretty and kind Adela Unnie, and the food will be delicious!”

“And there won’t be a wicked chairman.”

The imagination lasted only a moment before we paused and tilted our heads.

“But wait, there was something we needed to take care of first.”

    “Let’s go to the hospital!”

The Violets followed Irene to the general hospital.

There, Stregonix was seen being maintained by the Magnabis slaves.

The Violets were monitoring them with sharp eyes. It would be troublesome if they tried any tricks.

    “How is his condition?”

“…It feels a bit awkward. It’s not a real body, after all.”

    Irene’s father’s artificial body chuckled.

Although he said that, he must be very uncomfortable.

“This robot isn’t moving properly yet.”

“We succeeded in connecting it to the brain to move it, but…”

Given the current state, even Daphne’s unique ability couldn’t fully regenerate it.

It seemed an artifact capable of regenerating the entire body was needed somehow. Or cultivating an artificial body.

While the Violets whispered, recalling background knowledge in their minds, Number 1 confronted the researcher.

“Hey, this is something you made. The user is uncomfortable! Isn’t there a better way?”

The slave researcher trembled and replied.

“That was originally made for mages. It wasn’t designed with Awakened Ones who can’t use magic in mind. It needs modification to perform at its original capacity.”

“What do you need for modification?”

“More precise facilities and equipment than what we have here are needed. We also need to examine more data…”

The researcher, who had been watching us nervously, cautiously continued.

“A-and the neural synchronization process also requires more time. Normally, various measures are taken during a brain transplant. However, since the request was urgent, those procedures were skipped. There won’t be any health issues, but for a while, it will need to undergo more synchronization processes.”

Ah, so it was a budget issue after all.

    Violet nodded quietly.

This was Irene’s problem to solve. Now that Helios was normalized, there would surely be a solution.

    “Let’s just train now!”

“We must pass the transfer exam!”

During the remaining exam period, our Violets began to focus on training.

They gathered at the training ground to practice swordsmanship and combat, while hundreds of clones constantly honed their knowledge.

Our Violets are one and all. Sharing skills and acquired knowledge is not difficult.

Thus, a vast amount of information, comparable to an encyclopedia, was rapidly assimilated and internalized.

“Violet, stop training and come eat!”

Turning our heads, Daphne was calling us loudly.

“Aren’t you hungry? We ordered chicken! Hurry and come before it gets late!”

“Wow! Chicken! I want to eat!”

    The Violets rushed out.

Sophieel, who was beside us, looked at us with a smile.

“You’re working hard. With that much effort, you’ll definitely pass.”

    Tired Number 1190 mumbled.

    “I hate studying…”

Suddenly, a brilliant idea came to mind.

“That’s right! Could you perhaps subtly inform the academy, using your inspection bureau authority, that there are kind, intelligent, and beautiful girl students who absolutely *must* be admitted here?”

Sophieel laughed and gently pinched our cheek.

“What are you talking about? Seijis will scold you if you say things like that.”

    “Ugh!”

That’s right, Seijis would be furious if he heard that.

That was close. I shouldn’t make such remarks again.

I headed to the dining room. A mountain of chicken awaited us.

    ***

The Violets in charge of rest and their friends were sitting around the lounge sofa, chatting.

“Ugh… theory is too hard. I thought if I were a hunter, I’d just need to swing an axe…”

Granite complained, scratching his head vigorously.

“R-right. Wh-why do we even learn history? And grammar and composition…”

Levi also sighed, closing his book.

As we listened to their complaints, Professor Albert burst into the lounge.

“You rascals. So, you’ve all looked over the organization process, right?”

The two were dragged away, looking deflated.

Violet chuckled, watching the scene, when Lucian, who had approached beside her, whispered.

“Indeed, as expected of the top student in first year, you’re quite relaxed.”

“Oh come on, I’m struggling too! Studying is hard!”

    Lucian scoffed at our reply.

“You damn deceiver… Who else in the world can separate rest and study like you?”

What an unsympathetic fellow. Our Violets share their pain, but he doesn’t know that and just scolds us.

Within the Violet network, we worried.

“Math is hard! Magic calculations are hard too. I might forget everything I studied once I get the test paper.”

“Don’t worry. Even if the theory is tough, we don’t have to worry about the practical exam, right?”

Violet shook her head and reminisced about old memories.

The battles we always fought came to mind. The days of harsh training.

Deadly real combat where lives hung in the balance. An endless succession of deaths.

    Relentless fatigue and exhaustion.

“Ugh… Looking back, I really suffered.”

“But when you actually did it, it felt fun too.”

It seemed that the days of cheerful violence had become a lesson in life.

The Violet in charge of rest felt bored and went outside.

Kalia, who was also aiming for transfer to Aegis with us, mumbled.

“Haa, I wish I had even half of your abilities. If I just had ten clones, the world would be so easy.”

    I could only shrug.

Just then, Daphne gently interjected between us.

“Oh, Kalia-ssi. Violet also finds it very difficult and hard. Please understand!”

Saying that, Daphne gently stroked my head. At her touch, we felt a little more at ease.

    “Hehe!”

    **

Time flowed quickly, and soon it was the day of the exam.

Violet and her companions arrived in front of the magnificent main gate of Aegis Specialized Academy in the Southern District.

“Wow… So this is the school we’ll be attending!”

“It’s quite impressive, isn’t it? Such a massive size!”

Clean and pristine buildings, elaborate sculptures and fountains, and lush green lawns.

Truly a scene that exuded the dignity of a prestigious academy.

“Uh, what do I do? I must be crazy… going here?”

Levi mumbled in a trembling voice.

Violet shrugged her shoulder and grinned at her.

“Don’t worry, just treat it like clearing out monsters and people!”

    “R-right!”

We strode confidently into the academy.

There were more people than expected at the transfer exam hall.

We recalled the explanation Sophieel Unnie had given us earlier.

“She said that surprisingly, a high proportion of people aim for first-year transfer admission, right?”

While it’s common for Awakened Ones to attend an academy until graduation once admitted, many strive to get into some prestigious academies no matter what. Because of the many benefits.

    “It’s starting now!”

The morning consisted of a written exam to gauge proficiency in various subjects. The afternoon would be the practical exam.

After passing the first exam, there would be an interview.

“Alright, the written exam is starting! You may begin immediately after turning the cover of your question paper.”

As soon as the proctor’s words fell, the written exam began. The sound of papers being turned resonated throughout the auditorium.

We also turned the cover of our question paper with nervous hands.

What unfolded before our eyes were essay questions asking about difficult topics.

Bizarre magic circles, complex coordinate equations, and theoretical questions filled with unfamiliar terminology confronted us.

    “Aaaaaaaah!”

    We screamed inwardly.

“How are we supposed to solve questions like these?!”

“Calm down. We studied, didn’t we?”

“That’s right. Let’s solve them one by one. We can do it!”

Violet took a deep breath and picked up her pen.

Numerous Violets divided and solved the problems.

Unfortunately, since Professor Albert had warned us, we couldn’t mobilize the Doctor Uncle like last time.

‘Violet, you are fully capable. Stop with the tricks. This is all for your own good!’

If so, the remaining methods were parallel processing and calculators!

“For number 32, just substitute it into the magic conversion formula.”

“This one requires applying the third law.”

For humanities questions, they asked very detailed and tricky parts.

We calmly retrieved the knowledge ingrained in our minds, one by one.

“First Dimensional Invasion? Battle of Vittorio? I know this!”

Soon, Violet’s answer sheet was filled densely.

With each problem solved, confidence surged.

However, the Violets encountered an unexpected challenge: the essay exam.

    I didn’t understand. Couldn’t I just save both?

    “Violet doesn’t abandon comrades!”

“A burden, you say? Then I’ll just commit suicide!”

All the other questions also demanded deep thought in this manner.

I understood why this question was posed. Lately, Awakened criminals frequently stir up trouble. It seemed to reflect a social issue.

“Oh? Easy. Just kill them all, right?”

“I think the assumption is that it’s difficult to do that…”

“True, other people don’t have abilities like ours.”

We weren’t sure what was what, but for now, we wrote down our thoughts in detail. Violet’s method was truly the truth!

Now, only the practical exam remained.
