Chapter Index

    193.

It’s quiet. Even though the sunset is fading, it’s excessively quiet. Come to think of it, this should be a busy time, yet there isn’t a single light to be seen. Not only Erina, but Sonya also feels the strangeness even with her eyes half-open from sleep. Quiet, excessively quiet.

    “Um….”

    “There’s smoke.”

Smoke is rising from the chimney, so there seems to be someone there. It feels like they’re preparing dinner. They simply might not have lit any lights yet, or it might not even be a fire, just a glowing stone. Even though the sunset is almost gone, it’s still light enough to see, so it might just be unfounded worry.

“Where should we park the carriage? There doesn’t seem to be a stable…”

    “We should go inside first.”

Having just woken up, or perhaps Erina’s sweet whisper softened her heart, Sonya’s attitude is definitely calmer than before. Sonya roughly parks the carriage and feeds the horse the feed prepared in advance from the baggage compartment. It’s outdoors without a roof, but it can’t be helped. Looking around roughly, there really isn’t a stable. Furthermore, there doesn’t seem to be any barn for livestock. There are vast farmlands, but that’s separate from the unsettling feeling of this village’s structure.

Normally, there should be someone to look after the carriage, but Sonya couldn’t do that because she was supposed to be watching Erina. Instead, Erina secretly calls upon her familiar, Titania, in her mind to look after the carriage. Anyway, they only planned to buy groceries.

“There seems to be a shop.”

It was small, so they found the shop quickly. However, again, it wasn’t lit. The door was closed, and it didn’t look like they were open for business. Sonya roughly knocks on the shop door.

    “Customer! Open up!”

“…Sonya-ssi, that sounds like a robbery.”

Even with a little joke, there’s no response from inside the shop.

“……There’s definitely someone inside. I don’t want to do this, but it can’t be helped.”

“What are you going to do?”

    “Break it down.”

    “What???? What the… Oh my… You’ve done it now…”

Before Erina could stop her, Sonya violently kicks open the door. With a loud crash, the dilapidated interior is revealed.

“My mistress wishes to buy something! The shopkeeper, come out!”

    “M-me?? Even so, I’m wearing a nun’s habit, I don’t think that will work…”

However, no one comes even after waiting.

“Is anyone really there? They should wake up even if they’re sleeping…”

“We can just leave the money. The prices are written down.”

Doing as Sonya says seems to be the best course of action. Although it’s dark, it was still light enough to browse and purchase items.

“How far is it to the next village?”

    “I don’t know.”

“Ah, and we should pay for the door. I don’t think Sonya-ssi will pay though.”

    “Hmph.”

Erina reflexively tries to use her Appraisal skill to figure out how much they should buy, and surprisingly, she reaches the answer.

    “……Demon!”

    “What?”

Along the way, there were clear warnings about demons. Suddenly appearing slimes, or citizens injured by monsters, and so on. They were too focused on going north and on training Sonya, overlooking a crucial problem right in front of them.

“Excuse me!! I’m a nun from Pai Monastery!! Don’t worry and come out!!!!”

Erina simply emits her divine power around her, illuminating the area with a golden light for a moment. Shortly after, the sound of an elderly woman struggling to descend a wooden staircase, and she appears. Her face is full of worry, as many wrinkles etched into her face.

    “R-really?”

“Hello. First of all, I’m sorry for breaking the door. It really wasn’t intentional.”

“That doesn’t matter. If you take care of that damned thing that attacked the village, that’ll be enough.”

“Something must have happened. Please explain the situation. I’ll do my best.”

Erina glances at Sonya, but she only gets a sharp look in return, her mouth firmly shut.

“It happened not long ago. Someone who looked about your age came. She had horns on her forehead, but I couldn’t tell that she was that damned monster. In my whole life, I’ve never… Anyway, that woman started taking things from this village.”

    “…….”

Erina listens quietly. Clearly, it’s more akin to a demon than a monster. The fact that they left no trace of demonic energy is strange, but first, she listens. The reason there were no lights in the village was that the demon hated bright light and wouldn’t let them be lit. Furthermore, she robbed people, and even kidnapped them.

“You don’t know where she is?”

“I couldn’t even try to find out.”

“……I’ll buy some torches and oil. Oh, and something to eat when we come back.”

“I won’t take any money from a nun. It’s inside, so help yourself…”

The elderly shopkeeper’s expression is full of worry. Erina nods instead of offering awkward words of comfort. If she hates light, she thought she could lure her with fire. Sonya watches the situation with a cold expression, sensing that it was time to properly carry out Erina’s surveillance as ordered by the Queen.

“Sonya-ssi. Sonya-ssi, you’re in danger too, so don’t come close. I know you have to watch me, but keep your distance. I’m not joking, it’s really dangerous.”

“What do you think I am? Do you think I’m just a simple servant who can be near the Queen?”

“I… ah, ahem. Anyway you won’t be involved right? To let you know in advance, my divine power is high for a nun, but I can’t say it’s strong.”

“……I don’t intend to die after meddling. I’ll retreat when it’s time for you to retreat.”

Erina has a skill to resist demonic energy, so she can withstand it, but it’s unclear about Sonya. Though the skill has been infused into Erina’s semen like a potion, the amount Sonya has ingested is far from enough to be effective. There’s no time for persuasion, so she sighs in response. Then, for minimal resistance, she bestows a blessing on Sonya.

    “Really, you don’t know anything?”

    “Let’s go.”

From Erina’s point of view, she’s nothing but a burden. But she has to do what she has to do. She bows to the shopkeeper and immediately leaves the village at a quick pace. Even though running at Erina’s physical ability is still a pace Sonya can catch up to with a brisk walk, she tries her best.

“Huff, huff… At this point, there shouldn’t be any damage to the village, right?”

“Shouldn’t we just use divine power to create light like before?”

“It’s not efficient to use it continuously. Besides, it’s a waste to use divine power. Um… could you light this?”

Soaking the torch in oil was fine, but as Levi was in charge of adventurous knowledge, she didn’t know how to light it.

    “Tch.”

Sonya creates a small flame from her fingertips and starts to light the torch. It looks similar to Aries’s magic, but it’s on a different level.

“Wow, you can use magic too?”

“This is the most basic of basics. …But it’s all I can do.”

The sun has completely set. Several minutes pass with torches in hand in the encroaching darkness. Though only a few minutes have passed, time seems to crawl by due to the tension. As the memory of meeting Titania in the Crimson Forest is about to surface, a large mass of demonic energy that sends shivers down her spine is felt.

    “Here we go. Be careful.”

“Hmph. Is it this feeling…. It’s definitely felt through the skin.”

With a feeling like being soaked in a swamp, a tingling sensation all over her body has Sonya flinching. The density gradually increases, and finally, the main player arrives.

“What? Who lit a fire in my territory? Wait, this smell… it’s a goddess’s lackey?!”

    “Hello, Demon-san.”

As had been said, she has the appearance of a horned girl. A physique that reminds her of Aries, but it is the body of someone who has lived for at least a hundred years.

“You’ve got some guts!! I was surprised when I woke up to find things had changed, but this world’s low on divine power, this is totally lucky, haha.”

“You’re talkative. Do we need to talk? Oh, did you not hear about me?”

“Who are you?? Do I have to know every single lackey? You don’t have much divine power, and you’re garbage who can’t even sense the difference in magical energy?”

Erina takes a step forward toward the demon with an impassive expression. Sonya takes a step back. The demonic energy is suffocating, making her feel like she is losing her mind. She can’t help but think that she underestimated her opponent.

And the sight that unfolded was enough to fill her head with question marks. Her brain gave up on understanding, even her muscles gave up, leaving her completely helpless. After struggling to think, all she got was more question marks.

    “??????”

She’s unsure where to even begin.

    “Uoooogh――♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡”

    “Oooooooh Oooooh―♡♡♡ I-I’m sorryyyyyyyoooooot♡♡♡♡♡♡ You impertinent bitch with a pussy, I was wronggggaaat♡♡♡♡♡ I’ll apologize with my bodyyyyt♡♡♡”

At some point, Erina had produced a weapon-like sized penis, and she was fucking the demon. And seeing this, Sonya’s crotch became slightly wet.
