Chapter Index

After discovering the joy of gymnastics, Appleton subscribed to a channel on her phone that uploaded gymnastics videos.

“Practice hard even when you go home. Got it?”

    “Yeah!”

Appleton, she fell in love with gymnastics.

    Absolutely.

Gym class wasn’t as fun as I expected.

I was watching everyone studying together, so I got up from my seat and started walking slowly.

As I started walking, Shine Lane and Appleton followed me.

“The weather is so nice, but everyone is just sitting and studying.”

    “I think it’s because it’s exam period soon… But it wasn’t like this usually…”

    “Exam period?”

    “Yeah.”

    I nodded to Appleton’s words.

I understood the children’s behavior, as the time had come for them to pour out everything they had studied.

    But boring is boring.

I put strength into my legs and jumped up in place.

The view increases in an instant, and at the same time, you can extend your hand to the side and climb up the high fence.

At the clanking sound, the three below look up.

    “Shall we play here?”

I said, waving my hand downwards.

At the end of the playground was a tall fence, which marked the boundary between the playground and the tennis courts.

I was sitting on top of it now.

    “in…”

Appleton looked surprised at my sudden appearance.

But it wasn’t Shine and Rain.

The two of them jumped up from their seats and sat down next to me.

    “Appleton is coming up too.”

    I reached out to Appleton.

She looked hesitant for a moment, then shook her head and took a step back.

“Up there, it’s dangerous. If you go up there…”

“It’s not dangerous. Trust me and reach out your hand.”

There was no way Appleton, who was in poor health, could have climbed up here.

I am well aware of that fact.

Appleton hesitated for a moment at my words, then reached out and took my outstretched hand.

I gave a small smile to Appleton, who was blankly looking up at me, and grabbed his hand with all my might.

Appleton’s small body was instantly lifted up by the force of his legs, which were firmly anchored to the end of the fence.

    “Eww!”

Appleton was floundering in the air, I grabbed her body and sat her down next to me.

His body, trained through all kinds of training, was able to lift Appleton’s light weight without difficulty.

    A cool breeze is blowing.

I closed my eyes and felt the wind.

Since I rarely get to go out into the open air and feel the breeze, I like times like these.

    “Wow…”

Appleton began to look around with a slightly red face.

Climbing up to a high place and looking down gave me a different feeling.

Appleton was feeling the same way I was now.

    The tennis court was empty.

Since there’s no one else using it, no one will say anything if the four of us use the place for a little while.

I jumped out of my seat.

A cool breeze enveloped my body.

After a brief moment of hovering, the body falls.

After landing safely on the ground, I turned around and looked up at the top of the fence.

Rain and Shine saw me and jumped down next to me.

    “Okay. Jump over here!”

I said to Appleton with both hands wide open.

She stared blankly down, then closed her eyes tightly with a determined expression.

It’s dangerous to jump down like that with your eyes closed…

As he thought that, Appleton’s body slowly tilted and fell downwards.

I quickly approached and took Appleton’s body.

“It’s okay to open your eyes now.”

I let go of Appleton in my arms and looked around.

The wide, open space had a certain thrilling magic to it.

I ran forward, leaving Appleton behind.

    “Jeff!”

I ran, ignoring Shine’s call coming from behind me.

He crossed the wide court in front of him and jumped over the net blocking the center of the court.

    “Haha!”

    The laughter didn’t stop.

After running for a while, I was able to find tennis balls lying on the ground.

Although it was a shame that the racket was not visible, there were many games that could be played with just one ball.

I picked up the ball from the floor and looked behind me.

Shine, Lane, and Appleton were walking slowly.

I waited for the count of three, bouncing the ball on the floor.

“Um, if you wanted to come in here, you could have used the entrance over there…”

Appleton came closer, stretched out his hand, pointed to a place and said.

As she said, where her hand pointed, there was a door that could lead here.

“Okay, I’ll come in through the door next time.”

    Since I didn’t know, isn’t it inevitable?

Anyway, since you were able to get in, let’s not get into details.

I thought to myself like that and threw the ball to Shine.

    “Public?”

    “Yeah. It’s a small ball.”

    “Hmm…”

Shine looked at the ball in my hand and it started bouncing on the floor a few times.

    “It’s okay.”

    “Right? Shall we play ball?”

    “Yeah.”

Shine nodded and slowly distanced herself.

My heart is pounding because it’s been a while since I played ball.

I started to relax, keeping a little distance from Shine.

    “Want to play tennis…?”

    “No! It’s just our game!”

I answered Appleton’s question, which seemed odd, and took a ready stance.

Legs shoulder-width apart and arms relaxed.

A body that jumps in short bursts so that it can kick at any time.

I watched Shine as she stepped briskly.

Shine also took a similar stance as me and lifted the ball into the air.

“Are you just going to use your legs?”

    “Yeah!”

As Shine asked me, her legs swung.

He jumped slightly to the side, spun around, and kicked a tennis ball that was falling through the air.

It was difficult to find the hitting point because it was smaller than the ball I usually used.

    But don’t miss it.

The ball bounced off the ground and suddenly changed direction, but I was prepared and ran in that direction in an instant and kicked the ball with my foot.

A tennis ball floating in the air, resting on the tip of your foot.

As I watched that scene, I jumped into the air again and spun around.

A pleasant breeze wraps around my body.

As her long legs moved toward the target, her instep struck the tennis ball accurately.

    Pfft!

A tennis ball flies with a refreshing sound, then changes direction after hitting the floor once.

Shine, like me, receives the ball without any problem.

As I played with Shine and the ball for a long time, I felt the warm gazes of those around me.

Students who had come close to the fence were crowded together.

I stretched out my leg and gently caught the flying ball.

The moment the ball touches the back of your foot, release the strength in your legs and slowly rotate.

The body that returned smoothly released the power of the ball and slowed down, so that eventually the ball stopped moving and came to rest on the back of my feet.

I kicked the ball lightly and lifted it up into my hand.

    “Why did you stop?”

After playing ball for a while, why didn’t we stop?

Shine asked me with a puzzled expression.

    I looked around in silence.

She looked around like me and then her expression suddenly crumpled.

“Is this your first time seeing them play ball?”

    It’s just as she said.

Is this your first time seeing them play ball?

When my eyes met with Shine’s, they turned their heads away in surprise, but their eyes were wide open as if they had seen something amazing.

    The excitement has died down.

I threw the ball in my hand back to where it came from.

“It doesn’t seem like you want to be with me. Why on earth are you looking at me like that?”

I couldn’t understand the students’ reactions, so I wiped the sweat from my forehead and approached Lane and Appleton.

Lane and Appleton were hugging each other, as if they had become close friends.

It was accurate to say that Appleton was holding Lane in his arms.

    “Are you done?”

“Yeah. It’s a bit burdensome because the kids keep staring at me.”

To me and Shine, it was an ordinary argument, but it didn’t seem that way to others.

    “Were we a little weird?”

    “No!”

When I asked Appleton with a worried expression, she shook her head in surprise.

I grabbed Lane’s hand from Appleton’s arms and pulled her up.

    “Rain, give me water.”

    “Yeah.”

Rain nodded to my words and used his ability.

As her finger poked the air, a sphere of blue water appeared in front of me.

Cool and delicious rain water beads!

I immediately put my mouth out and put the bead in my mouth.

Cool, cold water flows down my throat.

The refreshing taste makes me smile.

I hugged Rain with all my might, my neck clenched.

    “Ugh…”

Lane groaned in pain, but did not pull away.

No, he didn’t look particularly distressed.

There was still a lot of PE time left.

I had nothing to do and was uncomfortable with the stares of other students, so I pointed to the coat next to me and said.

    “Shall we go there?”

    “Over there…”

Appleton looked at it and muttered as if something had come to mind.

The coat had a slightly different structure than here, and it gave off a distinct feeling of being different.

It would be correct to explain that they are receiving special treatment.

A box installed in front of the fence, filled with tennis balls.

    And even unidentified machines.

    “What’s that over there?”

“That’s the space where the tennis club members practice…”

    “Tennis club?”

    “Ugh…”

Did this school have something like that?

Anyway, it seemed like no one was using it right now.

I grabbed Appleton’s hesitant hand and ran towards it.

I couldn’t hear it because I was far away, but as I got closer, I could hear the sound of a ball bouncing.

It seemed like there was a student who had already used it.

The footsteps and breathing I heard were from one person.

Open the gate of the closed fence, cross the court and look around.

    Thump- thump- thump-!

I walked slowly in the direction from which the sound came.

The wide wall strangely obscured my view, making it difficult to see my opponent clearly.

As I discovered the connection between the wall and the tennis ball, I remembered the sight I had seen early in the morning.

This is a picture of a student practicing tennis diligently.

    “Hoo-.”

As I approached past the wall, I saw a boy sitting on the floor, holding a tennis racket in his hand.

He had practiced so hard that his gym clothes were soaked with sweat.

    “Uh…”

Was it because I heard footsteps?

The boy turned his head and looked at me.

    The wind is blowing.

I raised my hand to the hair that was fluttering gently and stroked it.

    That was when.

An absurd sound came out of the boy’s mouth.

    “Fairy…?”
