Chapter Index

After returning from school, a day passed.

As nothing special came up, I went to the office today as usual.

I opened my laptop and let out a long sigh.

    “Huhh …

    “What are you looking at?”

    A voice coming from behind.

    It was Victor’s voice.

After finishing his morning exercise, he took a quick shower, and there was a towel around his neck.

“I want to give a gift to my friend, but I don’t know what to give.”

    “Friend?”

“Yes. He’s a new friend I made at school.”

    “Let’s see…”

After hearing my answer, Victor came closer and started examining the laptop screen.

    “Jeff?”

    “Huh?”

“Is your new friend an older person?”

“No. I’m 12 years old, the same age as Shine.”

Victor’s expression became strange at my answer.

Was there something strange about the gift candidate I was choosing?

I began to carefully read the items that appeared on the screen.

    [Red Worm Tail Juice]

    [White Snake’s Pickled Brain]

    [Giant Boar’s Liver]

    [Big Owl Bear’s Paws]

There was nothing particularly strange about these products.

Although the price range was a bit high, I was able to purchase it without any problems using the card Amy gave me.

    “Is it weird?”

“Do you think you would normally like a gift like this at your age?”

“Wouldn’t Appleton be happy to accept that?”

    “Appleton?”

“Ah, that’s the name of the friend I just met.”

Victor rolled his eyes at my answer, then pulled over a chair and sat down next to me.

“Well, if I were Appleton, I don’t think I’d like it that much.”

“But Appleton is a weak friend. He needs to eat healthy food like this to be healthy.”

I paid for the product without caring what Victor said.

There are three items in total that I have selected.

It was red worm tail juice, giant boar liver, and big owl bear paws.

No matter what, I couldn’t feed snake brain to a young girl.

“It seems like we’ve become really close since you’re even thinking about giving me a gift.”

“No? I only exchanged a few words with Appleton.”

If you ask if we are close, it wasn’t like that.

It would have been right to explain that we were still in the getting to know each other stage.

Victor stroked my chin at my words and glanced at Amy.

“Let Jeff do whatever he wants.”

    “Umm…”

At Amy’s words, Victor groaned softly and got up from his seat.

    “Yeah.”

Victor then returned to his seat.

I pushed the chair aside and approached Shine.

A cute chair with wheels rolled smoothly and arrived next to Shine.

    “Shine. Did you choose everything?”

    “Yeah.”

Shine was also choosing health food.

    Her choice is processed drugs.

I was putting pills packed with various nutrients in my shopping cart.

    “Will Appleton be happy?”

“Of course. Even if not, I’ll make you happy.”

    “Yeah. I hope you’re happy.”

I rocked my legs back and forth, picturing Appleton.

All I could remember was him passed out and lying on the ground, but he was still my first friend from school.

Now that I think about it, I should give a gift to Rain too…

I pushed the chair back and returned to my seat.

Lane was fast asleep, using his comic book as a pillow.

“Hey, Shine. What would be a good gift for Rain?”

    “Rain?”

“Yeah. Rain is our friend too.”

Shine opened her mouth blankly at my words.

Shine, who seemed shocked for a moment, soon nodded and answered.

    “Yeah, I see.”

So Shine and I started choosing a gift for Rain.

    What would suit Rain well?

Having spent a long time with her, I knew what she liked and what she didn’t like.

So, I had to pick the one that would make Rain the happiest when he received it.

I searched the titles of the comic books lying on Lane’s desk in the search bar.

Then, a bunch of series with similar titles appeared below.

I thought about giving her a book as a gift, but when I thought about the numerous books that were on the shelves in Rain’s room, it didn’t seem like such a good idea.

If I had given a book that someone already had, it would have been a disaster.

It would have been fine to ask her and buy it for her, but since I was preparing a gift anyway, I wanted to give it as a surprise without Rain knowing.

I clicked the little button next to the search bar.

    [Find related products]

Click – A small noise echoed from the mouse, and my face turned bright red.

The series was quite popular, as numerous goods were listed for sale.

But the problem was that it wasn’t ordinary.

Shackles, handcuffs, and a furry tail.

There were a bunch of things that I couldn’t even figure out what they were used for.

    “Jeff?”

    “Huh? Huh!?”

    “What did you find?”

“No! I haven’t found anything yet!”

I was startled by Shine’s question and closed the screen.

I thought it would be best to just give a book as a gift.

As I was slowly catching my breath, clutching my pounding heart, Shine spoke.

    “I decided.”

    “Already?”

    “Yeah.”

I moved my chair again and walked over to Shine to look at her screen.

    “Oh…”

Shine bought me something completely different from the gift I was thinking about.

    Cute chick hoodie.

It was an outfit that I thought would look really good on Rain.

    “Do you know the size?”

    “Yeah.”

How does she know Lane’s clothing sizes?

Anyway, that wasn’t the important thing.

I nodded my head as I looked at the gift Shine had prepared.

I thought of a gift that would suit Rain.

As soon as I returned to my seat, I put the chick slippers in my shopping cart.

Slippers that squeak when stepped on looked comfortable to wear in the office.

    But one problem arose.

The problem is that I don’t know Rain’s foot size.

I immediately got up from my seat and crawled under the desk.

    The target is Rain’s feet.

Her feet were now left defenseless.

Judging from the fact that he had taken off his slippers and was lying down, he seemed to be in a very deep sleep.

I walked up to her feet and felt the soles of her feet.

The small, white soles of her feet were covered in pure white socks, giving them a soft feel.

Rain began to move his feet around as if the soles of his feet were ticklish.

It would be better if you just fell asleep quietly.

I let out a small sigh, holding the sole of my foot with one hand and taking out my phone with the other to take a picture of Lane’s foot.

Nowadays, you can tell someone’s shoe size just by looking at a picture of their feet.

I put Rain’s soles down and returned to my seat to check the size.

    Rain’s foot size is 190mm

However, the minimum slipper size to order was 200mm.

    “Um…”

After thinking about it for a moment, I just clicked the purchase button.

It was just a pair of comfortable slippers, and this design was the prettiest, so it was an inevitable choice.

    “Did you pick Jeff too?”

    “Yeah.”

Shine came over to me and checked my screen, wondering what I had ordered.

I showed Shine the gifts from Appleton and Lane that were on the order list.

    “How is it?”

“I think I’ll really like both”

    “Right?”

    “Yeah.”

    All work is done.

I immediately started playing the video saved on my laptop.

A headset that blocks out surrounding noise is a must.

During this time, even Shine didn’t bother me.

It was such an important time for me.

[The Little Witch’s Great Adventure] Movie Version 1.

[The Birth of the Starlight World.]

It was a video that contained content that truly showed the worldview.

As I gazed at the stars pouring down from the sky, I began to fall deeply in love.

    ***

    Knock knock-

I was deeply concentrating on the video.

I felt someone gently touch my arm, and I turned my head to the side.

    “Shine…?”

When I approached, Shine was standing next to me.

I stopped playing the video, took off the headset, and hung it around my neck.

    “Why?”

    “It’s lunch time.”

    “Already?”

    “Yeah.”

I checked the time at the bottom of my laptop screen at Shine’s words.

As she said, lunch time was really approaching.

Lane and Victor also stood up and cleaned up their desks, as if preparing to eat lunch.

    Beep-! Beep-! Beep-!

And as the clock ticked right to lunchtime, Lane’s lunch alarm rang loudly.

Rain, who had been in a deep sleep, woke up with a start at the sound of the alarm and wiped around her mouth.

Fortunately, the drool didn’t flow, and her comic book looked unharmed.

    “Rain, did you sleep well?”

    “Huh? Oh, I didn’t sleep? I was working…”

Lane answered, lifting up his bundle of papers in confusion at my words.

    “Really?”

    “Yeah!”

“Then you were up when I was messing with Rain’s feet?”

    “Bar, foot?”

“Yeah. They were small and cute feet.”

Rain, who was listening to me, blushed and wiggled his feet.

She was wearing slippers, so I could see her little toes moving.

    “Were you sleeping?”

    “This… Ugh…”

Rain couldn’t even give a proper answer.

It seems he was quite embarrassed about taking a nap during work hours.

    “Let’s go quickly.”

Shine must have felt suffocated by the sight of the two of us, so she grabbed Rain and I by the arms and left the office.

What would she think of the pictures of my feet stored on my phone?

It was so cute that I couldn’t just delete it.

Would it be okay to use this as a wallpaper later?

I headed to the restaurant, fiddling with my phone.

For lunch today, I chose pork cutlet just like last time.

While we were having that delicious lunch, Shine and I received a text from the mall.

    “The item will arrive soon.”

    “I checked it too.”

Perhaps because the headquarters is located in a high area, the delivery speed was beyond imagination.

I stood up from my seat, holding my cell phone in my hand.

    “Where are you going?”

“Yes, the items we ordered will arrive.”

“Really? Should I go with you?”

“No. You can call Mr. Shumain from above.”

As I was getting up from my seat with Shine and heading outside, Rain naturally came up to us.

Since we always traveled together, Rain wanted to join us this time too.

    But not now.

We need to prepare the gift for Lane without her knowing, so Lane can’t follow us now.

    “Rain, wait. We’re going alone.”

    “Huh?”

Rain’s eyes widened in surprise at my words.

I wondered if what I said was that surprising, but if the person I was always with suddenly told me not to follow him, I would be a little surprised.

“Because Shine and I are secretly preparing something. We want to hide it from Rain.”

If I said it like that, I wondered if there was any point in preparing a surprise gift, but I had no choice because Rain would misunderstand what I said.

“Okay? You can be okay with Amy, right?”

    “Uh… Yeah…”

Rain nodded with a slightly disappointed expression.

I looked towards Amy and waved.

    “I’ll be back!”
