next day.
Was the cleaning using the super-manual Dongbaekjang and supernatural powers effective? Surprisingly, I was able to sleep quite comfortably even though I only cleaned up the dust.
The sound of small insects in the grass that came from somewhere did not bother my ears and passed by my bedside like a lullaby, and even without using the air conditioner, a cool breeze gently blew in through the half-open window.
As the sun rose, the light coming from outside the window dimly illuminated the bedroom.
It was at that moment that I woke up.
‘Umm… I slept well.’
Jeong Soo-jin, who looked down with her head down, showed no signs of waking up yet.
She was lying on one of my arms, breathing slowly and evenly and falling into a deep sleep.
‘Maybe he’s reading a book.’
Although I couldn’t get up from my seat because of the arm I had lent to Jeong Soo-jin, I used my free other arm to take out the Military Official Book from my inventory and read it.
How much time has passed like that?
Perhaps because the bedroom became brighter due to the sunlight, Jeong Soo-jin’s closed eyelids twitched.
“Umm… ”
“Did you sleep well?”
After putting the martial arts book into my inventory, I looked down at Jeong Su-jin, who was slowly stretching, and said. She mumbled, snuggling into my arms as I lay next to her.
“Ugh… I want to sleep a little longer… ”
Sigh… Sigh…
“Really? Then should I just rest at home today?”
He gently stroked Sujin’s head and whispered.
The plane ride was very long and I had to drive as soon as I arrived, so even though I was in good physical condition, it was hard enough.
Considering the time difference, he meant that he could just rest at home for a day, but as soon as Su-jin Jeong heard those words, her eyes widened and she woke up.
Jump up!
“No… !”
“What’s wrong?”
“If my brother returns home first, I can stay home all day anyway! When we have time to walk around together, we should go look around!”
“Ugh… Then wash it first. I’ll just make some toast or something.”
After saying that, I half-got up from the bed, but Su-jin Jeong grabbed my wrist.
“I’m still sleepy… Can’t you help me?”
“… … .”
The seduction with eyes that were not completely sleepy and a slightly hushed voice was so far from sexy that it could rather be considered cute.
But the faint scent of her flesh and the fingers gently rubbing his wrist were lethal in another way.
“I might not be able to go out because I’m tired?”
“Heehee, please wait a moment.”
Flashing.
“Aaaah!”
In the end, I picked her up from the bed and headed to the bathroom.
After sweating in the bathroom for two hours and washing it off again, we had a quick brunch and were only able to leave the house around lunchtime.
Because I had already spent the whole morning, it was difficult to see all the places I had planned due to time constraints.
So we decided to tour only a few famous places first. There was enough time to enjoy the rest of the small places slowly after Comic Con ended.
The first place we headed to was a winery nearby.
This area, about a 20-minute drive from my house, was home to dozens of wineries. There were many outdoor tables where you could eat while looking at the vineyards, so even though it was in the US, I felt like I was in Europe.
Some wineries required reservations, but many wineries also accepted walk-in visitors.
Since we had to drive, we purchased wine for dinner on the recommendation of a winery employee and headed to San Diego.
The first place we headed to was Balboa Park.
Located in the heart of downtown San Diego, this park boasted a very large area and a lot of things to see.
To be honest, I felt like I would need an entire afternoon to explore the entire park in detail, so I had to compromise by only seeing a few famous places first.
The place we visited was the San Diego Zoo.
This zoo, which boasts an incredible history spanning over 100 years since its establishment, was famous for having the best facilities in the world and for housing all kinds of rare or endangered animals.
“Wow… It looks really amazing!”
Jeong Soo-jin was amazed when she saw the furry wild boar-like animal.
It was a guy that automatically caught my eye because it looked more ferocious than the wild boars you see in Korea.
“If I encounter it in the wild, I will feel like a complete monster. Right?”
“Sure.”
I thought to myself as I chimed in with Jeong Soo-jin.
‘It’s a monster… Now that I think about it, I’ve never been to a travel destination where monsters appear.’
Even though it’s been quite a while since I got my ticket, the enemies I’ve dealt with from the beginning until now have always been humans.
Perhaps thanks to the effect of the [World Tester] title, which allows me to always maintain a subjective perspective, I did not experience any particular mental shock when executing people or demons that had nothing to do with me.
Still, I felt uneasy thinking that this pattern would continue.
‘… I’ll have to find a suitable travel destination soon. When I think about it again, if I keep dealing with people like this, I might become a psychopath. ‘You also have to learn how to deal with non-human enemies.’
I muttered that in my heart and followed Sujin, who was ahead with light steps.
And from then on, I continued to focus on watching cute animals. As it is a place with over 600 species of animals, there were also plenty of cute animals.
Typically, the cutest animals that Jeong Soo-jin liked were giant pandas and koalas. He also liked the fun-looking tapir, which looked like a cross between an anteater, a horse, and a wild boar.
After finishing our short and extensive tour of the zoo, we also stopped by other places within Balboa Park. The Botanical Building and Lily Pond, which have been featured in dramas, are places that boast an old-fashioned look in harmony with the surrounding plants.
Thanks to the large pond that reflects the sky like a mirror, I felt like I was visiting a palace somewhere.
To be honest, personally, I liked this place more than the dry and cold palace of Aka the Fallen Kingdom.
Because the sun was slowly going down, we quickened our pace.
We looked at the famous ‘Kissing the End of War’ statue at the USS Midway Museum on the beach, and had a light dinner at Waterfront Park a little to the north.
The food was packaged from a Mexican restaurant right next door.
There was a restaurant where you could eat while looking at the sea view, but Jeong Soo-jin wanted to eat while sitting next to the fountain.
She said as she looked at the sky where the sunset was slowly setting.
“I heard they show movies for free here once or twice a month.”
“Really? Is that only visible here?”
“I think that’s probably not true. Looking at the screening schedule, it looks like screenings are taking place throughout California, not just this park.”
“I see… It feels like a free drive-in movie theater. Watching a movie in the park can be romantic in its own way.”
We talked a lot until the sun completely set.
It was a perfect day, except that when Su-jin Jeong got up to go home, she stumbled slightly because she had strained her legs by walking all day.
And finally, the day came when the long-awaited Comic Con was held.
The location where Comic Con was held was the San Diego Convention Center.
It was located right next to the USS Midway Museum that we visited the day before.
As Comic Con lived up to its famous name, a huge number of people filled the front of the convention center.
It wasn’t at a level where there was no room to step, but it was clearly comparable to what I had experienced while walking around the area the day before.
“Wow… ”
Is it because it’s the first day of Comic Con? Every direction I looked, I saw cosplayers wearing all kinds of cosplay.
The main character of a martial arts movie I watched when I was young. A swordsman with a shining sword. A hero who is consistently loved. A person who imitates the Statue of Liberty. A cowboy and a man in a space suit. A woman with an incredible body that seems to show more of her bare skin than if she were only wearing underwear…
Wow~
“Where are you looking now?”
“Huh? Nothing!”
In response to Jeong Soo-jin’s strong grip on my forearm, I naturally looked away and looked the other way.
She warned, narrowing her eyes.
“… be careful. Because I’m watching.”
“Hmm… Then, shall we go inside?”
We looked around and moved to the convention center.
However, an unexpected problem arose right from the entrance.
“Yes… ? A pass?”
You cannot enter the convention center at all without a pass.
For me, who thought that like any other ordinary fair, anyone would be able to enter, or even purchase tickets at the entrance, this was a complete surprise.
Looking at Jeong Soo-jin’s similarly embarrassed expression, it seemed like she didn’t even know this.
A man who appeared to be a staff member added that he was sorry, as there seemed to be people like us often.
Only then did we learn that in order to enter the convention center where Comic Con was held, you had to buy a ticket, and that ticketing was very notorious.
“What should I do… ? sorry… I should have looked into it better and said something… ”
Jeong Soo-jin looks up at me with a sullen face.
As she was the first person to ask to participate in Comic Con, she seemed to feel a mixture of regret and sadness at not being able to even get through the entrance after coming this far.
But blaming her here didn’t change anything.
I shook my head and comforted her.
“No. The same applies to me for not doing any research.”
‘It’s a bit of a waste… Tsk.’
It’s a situation where you automatically lose your appetite due to disappointment.
It’s okay to look around from outside the convention center, but isn’t that like visiting a good restaurant and just smelling it from the outside?
Watching cosplayers on the street wasn’t a bad thing, but as my expectations were high, there was also a lot of disappointment.
‘Shall we sneak in?’
I was looking around, wondering if I could find a way by using my abilities.
There was a murmur coming from the crowd we had just passed.
“Is it a fight? Why are you doing that?”
“It’s the police!”
“Damn, it pops!”
“What is it? Where did the guy who said the event go?”
