Chapter Index

Until the end of September, I was just living a normal life.

The disgust I felt towards Sophia in the original work had largely disappeared.

The being I hated was just a character, and the being in front of me was… …a different Sophia.

It was similar to Claire’s case. Of course, I liked Claire when she was a character, but anyway, if someone were to ask me if the Claire around me now and that character were the same person, I would have said no.

Even after that, I went back in time and asked about this and that—

“Huh? Me? I’ve never actually stabbed a person before? ”

“I was happy when I heard from the law that I should become a knight, but it was to repay the favor I received so far. How many people become knights because they want to kill people?”

    “Yes,” Sophia replied in horror.

In the original, the character’s backstory wasn’t revealed well, and it was just said, ‘I became a knight of the cathedral because I like killing people’… … But maybe there was some kind of backstory to this too. In the original, did he become a knight of the cathedral later? Did he become a knight of the cathedral in a hurry because of my existence?

At least I remember the laundry method as being ‘not just anyone can just wash it’.

Since it was something I couldn’t confirm even if I asked him, I gave up on asking him any more. It might be more helpful to wait for Liberati to wake up.

Or, I could go to the court and grab the Pope by the collar and ask him.

Maybe it was a story that was to be told in a sequel. Maybe I ended up not knowing the intended content because I came here before I could get out of the back?

… … Oh, come to think of it again, I guess I don’t have any teeth.

If you’re going to send someone to a place like this, wouldn’t it be better to at least have them see the whole story? That way, they can properly prepare for what’s going to happen.

If you keep sending me things like this, I won’t even know what my goal is. At best, I can only come up with a very vague and vague plan like ‘saving the characters I like.’

Perhaps the very purpose of its existence was to induce such a situation, but since it was something that could not be confirmed right away, it was decided to focus on the task at hand for now.

In the case of Millennium’s RPG series, especially the Azerna Chronicles series, whenever the worldview changes, the first part focuses on introducing the region, characters, and society that serve as the background for that worldview. In the latter half of the story, a major accident suddenly occurs, and the characters that were introduced and developed relationships throughout the first part come together again in the second part to solve the incident.

Part 1 is about the end of the second semester of the first year. Part 2 is about the story from right after Part 1 to the end of the year. Part 3 is about the six months right after Part 2. As each sequel progresses, the time frame gets shorter, but the story density gets higher, so the playtime gets longer as it goes on.

In part 3, the heroine is determined to die.

Of course, it’s a game, so it’s hard to make save files link one by one, so all the incidents are roughly made to happen in Part 3, and since this is reality, it’s better to move while thinking about everything that will happen later from now on.

    That’s why I didn’t make a combat manual.

If I make something like that, the Emperor will use it for a long time. Jennifer has never suggested that I make something like that.

Rather, there is a possibility that Lena could go to the autonomous nation and create something like that… … but that’s okay. If the autonomous nation gains the ability to hinder the imperial army to some extent, or if it gains the ability to resolve the warlords in the border area on its own, the Emperor might think differently.

He is an emperor who rules the empire much more amicably than in the original work. And the reason for this is entirely because of my existence.

The existence of the monitor ship that fired shells at the border area was a variable, but that also appeared in the original work.

So far, it seems safe to say that the story is progressing positively.

    Until now.

    *

The person who nodded to me without saying anything was wearing the same school uniform as me.

Now that the weather was really getting cold, I started to drape my coat over my shoulders again. I was a little nervous that Lena, who often followed me around, had also started to drape her coat over her shoulders for some reason, but at least my fashion wasn’t completely weird. Well, Jennifer draped her coat over her shoulders too.

But the opponent was different. The buttons on his shirt and coat were all buttoned up, and there wasn’t a single wrinkle on his clothes.

That appearance, which could be said to be the epitome of neatness, at first glance reminded one of a soldier’s bearing, but it was somehow different from Lena’s neatness.

As I followed the strange sense of discomfort, the being that appeared in my head was none other than the royal maid.

Oh, right, right. Lotti was Jake’s maid at first.

    “Roti, you said?”

If she was just a maid, I would have just nodded and passed by, but the opponent was a regular character from the original work. She wasn’t a heroine that could be conquered, but she was still a pretty popular character because of her relationship with the innocent boy Jake.

“I am honored that Your Highness the Princess remembers my humble name.”

From a modern perspective, these words might sound a bit sarcastic.

But not here. It is common sense that the origins of the Roti are ‘lowly’. I don’t think so, but I don’t know what to say about it.

    “He was Jake’s close friend.”

    “I’m a maid.”

Eroti answered my question as if she was hitting an iron wall.

    “Hmm.”

Somehow, hearing you say that made me feel a little bit challenged.

As if to indicate that she was of mixed race with the colonial people, her skin color was dark. As the greatest motif of the empire was the British Empire at one time, the motif of Roti’s homeland was India during the colonial era.

Whether Roti spent his childhood in the Azerbaijani Empire or in a colony, it is not surprising that the caste system is deeply ingrained in Roti’s mind.

“Jake doesn’t seem to think so.”

As I said that, Roti’s eyebrows twitched.

“Jake is just being comfortable with me since we’ve known each other for a long time.”

“Then isn’t it natural to think of them as closer friends?”

    “… … Princess.”

    I looked at Roti quietly.

I couldn’t see his expression clearly because he was looking down, but it seemed like he thought I was putting Jake down.

    hmm.

But that doesn’t mean I can say I’m a princess even though I don’t have a single drop of imperial blood in me.

If the emperor at the top of a class-based country were to do something like that, then so be it. Bringing it up would only serve to stifle the flames.

    “Oh, Sylvia.”

As I was racking my brain to come up with what to say next, Jake appeared. I wondered if he was doing something for a moment.

“It’s nice to see you two being so friendly.”

    “… … Jake.”

Lottie spoke as if warning Jake, who was talking so playfully when he saw the two of us who didn’t look friendly at all.

Of course, Jake shrugged off the sharp remark.

    “Did they meet by chance?”

“Yes. I happened to pass by.”

When I said that, Jake smiled as if he found it amusing.

“Are you saying that because the next training is in our territory? Are you trying to get some information out of us?”

I didn’t really think that way.

I had a rough idea of what the structure of the Lindburgh Estate castle was like. It wasn’t fully realized, but I could at least picture where the books to read and items to check were.

    “Yes.”

But I was too lazy to think of any other reason, so I decided to just do it.

Since I am famous for not talking to other people in a friendly manner, if I were to talk to someone for no reason, they would be suspicious of me for that reason.

In particular, Roti had been quietly looking at me for a while.

Because he was ‘that’ child of ‘that’ royal family. They might think that he might do something in the Lindburgh estate.

And perhaps the biggest reason for my wariness is none other than Jake Lindbergh.

    It’s so cozy.

I tried to put my hand on Lotti’s shoulder with an expressionless face in front of me, but Lotti slapped my hand away. Seeing him put his hand down with an expressionless face again, I thought about making things a little more difficult for him, but I stopped.

“If there is any information you need, I can tell you?”

    “Is that so?”

As I said that, I glanced at Roti.

Judging by the way Jake and Lotti glanced at each other, it seemed like we had a brief moment of chemistry. Well, I don’t think Jake or Lotti would have guessed that I wanted to get a lift from Lotti.

“Then, would you like to talk for a moment?”

“Really? Then just the two of us—”

    “Your Majesty.”

Jake shrugged as he watched Roti cut him off.

“Oh my, I hate my childhood friend. Then I can’t help it.”

If I hadn’t been there, Roti probably wouldn’t have rolled her eyes.

It’s a little unfortunate that I don’t get to see it in person.
