Chapter Index

By default, sports cars are designed for two passengers.

Even though the sports car I picked had a spacious interior, the basic structure remained the same.

Being a two-seater, it was impossible for three people to ride together.

“Well, there’s no helping it in this situation, Yeo.”

O Yunji shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly. Seeing his relaxed demeanor in every gesture made me think that he was still the same as ever.

    “There’s room.”

Perhaps it wasn’t for nothing that we were friends.

Choi Yiseo, boldly taking the lead, pulled me along.

Choi Yiseo seated me in the passenger seat. Due to the car being lower than expected, it was a bit of a struggle.

Nevertheless, I managed to sit down.

She then sat right on top of me.

“How is it? Are you okay?”

    “Huh, huh?”

Perhaps slightly flustered, O Yunji’s voice trembled, her smile freezing on her face momentarily before she regained composure and took hold of the steering wheel.

“Um, this is a bit too cramped.”

Who cares about the car’s sexiness.

Although Choi Yiseo was sitting on top, she had to turn her head sideways due to the low chassis.

“Try lowering your body a bit.”

It was more like lying down than sitting.

Our cheeks were so close that they almost touched, and with many buttons inside, I hugged and prevented any accidental touches from behind.

    “Huh, huh?”

A strange snort was heard from the side, but I decided not to pay attention to it.

In the end, the three of us ended up riding in the sports car.

Even during intimate moments, it didn’t feel this close.

Now, feeling Choi Yiseo snug against me like a teddy bear, my heart raced.

    “Phew.”

No, it wasn’t because of excitement.

Was it because I was checking O Yunji’s reaction beside me?

    “Where are we going?”

“There’s a nice café with a great view. Let’s go there.”

    “I just had coffee though.”

“We’ll have another cup when we get there.”

I was about to question her statement, but instead of explaining, O Yunji responded with a throaty engine rev.

The ear-splitting noise felt like it could burst your eardrums, yet it also stimulated a man’s heart.

The supercar moving forward, attracting attention, filled us with comfort and satisfaction simultaneously.

    “Wow.”

Interestingly, Choi Yiseo seemed equally amazed, looking around in wonder.

    “Stop moving.”

As she squirmed a bit, I tightened my arms around her, signaling caution. Choi Yiseo pouted and retorted, sticking out her lips.

“Why. When would I ever get to experience something like this?”

“Then just move your face. Keep your body still.”

“It’s cramped and uncomfortable, isn’t it?”

    “…Half right.”

It was indeed narrow, but not uncomfortable.

No, it was quite the opposite—it was a problem because it felt good.

With the movements of Choi Yiseo earlier and now the slight twitching of her hips, my lower body tensed.

Moreover, her soft skin, body heat, and scent.

It was practically entwined, making excitement inevitable.

As tension built in my lower body, Choi Yiseo began to glance at me cautiously.

    “Hm?!”

    As expected.

Choi Yiseo seemed startled by the sensation on her hips. However, she quickly composed herself and whispered in my ear.

    “It’s okay.”

Since a similar incident had occurred at the PC bang before, she seemed accustomed to it, understanding that it wasn’t entirely under my control.

Her consideration was endearing, so I tightened my embrace a little more, chuckling at the snort.

    “It tickles.”

Though she didn’t seem to dislike it.

“What are these two doing right in front of me?”

The mood, which had turned peculiar due to O Yunji’s comment from the side, quickly dissipated.

If it had been just Choi Yiseo and me here, I wondered what might have happened, imagining scenarios in my head, which only intensified the tension.

    “Huh?!”

Due to that, a surprised Choi Yiseo let out a gasp, but it was just a passing hiccup.

Furthermore, the sudden roar of the vehicle’s engine and the increasing speed were all part of the unexpected events.

We arrived at a rather large coffee shop.

Located in a high place, Gahyeondae offered a panoramic view not only of the modern city but also of the entire downtown.

It was hard to understand why they were going to a cafe by car, but given the atmosphere and scenery, it made perfect sense.

Even at a time when there were hardly any customers yet, cars were parked all over the spacious parking lot.

“Ah, here we are. They’re famous for their affogato here. The ice cream is delicious.”

Having been here several times before, Choi Eiseo casually listed off the menu.

    “….”

It was only now that Choi Eiseo understood why Oh Yoonji had said I would want more coffee.

“Woojin likes that. I gave it to him once before, and he went crazy for it.”

    “Ah….”

While parking, Oh Yoonji casually mentioned my preferences.

If she didn’t know, Choi Eiseo’s expression darkened slightly.

Since we had spent time together, Oh Yoonji naturally knew more about me.

We got out of the car and went straight into the cafe.

Because what Oh Yoonji had said earlier bothered me a bit, I thought about ordering something else, but nothing else appealed to me.

Since it seemed like she had come here because of me, I just ordered an affogato.

    “Surprising.”

As we finished ordering and headed to our seats, Choi Eiseo asked me quietly from the side.

    “What?”

“Something like an affogato. I didn’t think you’d like it at all.”

“Well, I’m not a huge fan of sweet things. But since it mixes ice cream and coffee, surprisingly, it’s good.”

    “I see.”

Choi Eiseo nodded as if learning something new. Seeing her muttering that she would remember, a smile involuntarily crept onto my face.

    “What about you?”

    “Hmm?”

“What kind of coffee do you like? You seem to drink café lattes often.”

Choi Eiseo, who had been staring at me intently, smiled faintly and answered.

“Yes, I often drink café lattes. But when I’m tired, I add a shot to an iced Americano and drink that.”

“Well, then that’ll work during exam season.”

    “I’ll be waiting.”

Although it was tiring to talk about exam periods already, strangely, I found myself looking forward to that time.

    Anyway.

Since there were empty seats by the window, I sat there.

I sat across from Oh Yoonji, and after some hesitation, Choi Eiseo sat next to me.

“Today, it’s because Woojin’s friend came.”

    Setting her own boundaries.

    “Whatever.”

Oh Yoonji didn’t seem to mind and moved on without much concern.

“What do you want to talk about?”

As I asked while removing the wrapper, Oh Yoonji stared at me blankly for a moment.

    Was there something she realized?

Or was she organizing her thoughts?

Whatever it was, I was prepared not to waver.

Especially with Choi Eiseo beside me.

    “Hmm.”

Oh Yoonji slowly placed her hand on the table. Then, she glanced out the window and smiled before responding.

    “Well…”

    “Hmm?”

I wondered what she was about to say.

I thought she brought me here because she had something to say, but her expression contained various complex emotions.

    She seemed confused.

    She looked happy.

    And she seemed sad.

It was disconcerting to see Oh Yoonji, usually so confident, showing this side even for a moment.

“I just… I think I wanted to be with you like this.”

Looking out the window pensively, Oh Yoonji’s faint smile held a touch of vulnerability.

“I think that’s all I wanted. Pretending to have something to say… going for a drive, having coffee, talking briefly.”

    “What do you mean?”

    I didn’t want to weaken.

    I didn’t want to retreat.

I didn’t want to leave any regrets.

We parted ways cleanly, so there shouldn’t be any lingering regrets.

“Don’t act like this. It’s not like you.”

“Yeah, it’s not like me. Maybe seeing you and Eiseo being all friendly made me sentimental.”

    “….”

“Last time, you spoke so confidently. In the end, you were going to choose me.”

    “I did.”

“But I guess I didn’t know anything. Honestly, that you could be like that with someone other than me.”

O Yoon-ji slowly turned her head again.

Her always fiery red eyes were wavering.

“It’s seeing it firsthand that doesn’t sit well with me unexpectedly.”

I was at a loss for words.

There were many things I wanted to say prepared in my mind.

I was even thinking of calling a taxi and going home right away.

    But then.

Seeing that expression on O Yoon-ji’s usually confident face, those feelings subsided a bit.

    Ring!

    The vibrating bell echoed.

    “I’ll be back.”

Did he think something was strange?

Or was it consideration for a friend?

Choi Yi-seo, who picked up the vibrating bell, went to get the coffee right away.

Leaving the two of them at the table.

Yi-seo, who momentarily vacated her seat for O Yoon-ji, seemed grateful as she looked in that direction before taking a deep breath and speaking.

    “You’re not asking?”

    “About what?”

    “Why you didn’t contact me.”

    Once again.

    I was speechless.

My mouth felt as if it had been filled with sand, damp and speechless, but it seemed like I couldn’t speak properly.

    “Why does that matter.”

    My voice feigned indifference.

“You left anyway. Even if you left a letter or whatever. I don’t even know where it went. You could have called or texted once, but you didn’t.”

    “……”

“No matter how much I called, you didn’t answer.”

    At that time.

I don’t know how much I cried holding onto my phone.

I understand that there must be a reason for Yoon-ji too.

We unintentionally parted ways because of our families.

    Still, just one call.

If you had asked me to wait.

I would have continued to wait.

    “Not contacting you.”

Yoon-ji’s voice, as she exhaled, trembled slightly.

“That was a promise between your father and me.”

    “Oh, Father?”

“He probably aimed for that. If time passes, you’ll forget about me. Right now, even if you love me, eventually as you drift apart, your feelings will fade.”

Without realizing it, my eyes widened slowly. I thought it was related to my older brother, but it was related to my father?

“Maybe it was more because of our father. A girl with a father on death row, trying to ruin the life of a chaebol’s son.”

My older brother said at Gold One.

    He did his research.

He knows everything about Yoon-ji’s father.

Thinking about that again, my head starts to ache.

“You really didn’t get the letter. I wrote it all down while crying.”

Looking at me like that, Yoon-ji takes a deep breath, seeming disappointed.

    It was incredibly awkward.

Seeing her so emotionally vulnerable like this.

“I’ll only make weak sounds until today.”

    “Yoon-ji.”

“I… I succeeded in my own way. Enough to take you with me. Not as the chairman’s son, but just enough to be with Kim Woo-jin.”

    “……”

“But, it seems the chairman was right.”

    For one semester.

“I made a place to bring you, but you…”

    During the semester without Yoon-ji…

    “I’m already doing well.”

    What should I say?

    What should I tell her?

With my feeble mind, nothing came to mind.

    To me.

    “Woo-jin.”

Yoon-ji slowly smiled and made a request.

“Can you stay a little longer?”

    “……”

“We’ve gone on drives together, visited cafes, and now we’re going to have coffee.”

    With a truly gentle smile.

Basking in the sunlight streaming through the window.

    “Yeah.”

As if taking a nap, I closed my eyes calmly and whispered softly.

    “It’s a moment I’ve dreamed of.”
