Chapter Index

    “Uh…uh…”

Arjen looked at me and had a dumbfounded expression. How will Arjen react?

    “Hehe, hello Eugene.”

Contrary to my expectations, Arjen was no different from usual. Even if he wasn’t as surprised as Wayne, I thought he would say something, but I guess it was a pointless expectation. Wayne sighed, as if he could see through my intentions.

“Ugh, but it’s a dragon so would you be that surprised?”

“No, but he looked slightly embarrassed just now…”

Arjen smiled shyly and said at my words.

“Hehe… That’s because I was so embarrassed when I thought Eugene saw me sleeping.”

What was it? Considering that even in Akasha’s memories seen in the corridor of memories, he was not particularly surprised and rather disappointed when he encountered Stella, there was no reason to be surprised that Arjen saw me.

    ‘Ugh, Akasha y civelum.’

When I thought about it, I got angry again. Arjen smiled awkwardly as he naturally accumulated hate stacks.

“Wasn’t it strange how I was sleeping?”

    “Arjen is always pretty.”

It’s not a joke, she was so beautiful and gentle that people would say go away with the full makeup that usually appears in dramas.

    “Hehe, thank you.”

Arjen always wakes up earlier than me, so it was hard to watch her sleep. However, if there is one thing she is overlooking, it is that since Rosé always wakes up later than me, I have already seen her sleep countless times.

    “What.”

When I unconsciously imagined Rosé sleeping, past memories came back vividly, as if the scene was unfolding before my eyes. Is this also an ability that comes from becoming a god? Anyway, it was clear that something was out of the ordinary, but I wasn’t sure what exactly had changed.

“I guess I’ll have to visit again.”

There was no object, but no one could understand. Wayne nodded and Arjen looked dissatisfied.

“Wow… It seems like they always go out on days when I’m there.”

“Don’t worry. I don’t think it will take long this time. You won’t even need to go in person.”

If things had gone as planned, I would have had to ride on Arjen’s back and fly for an entire day. But for some reason, I had a feeling that we might just meet. Although there was no basis for it.

    “Huh? How do you know?”

    “Wait a minute.”

I unintentionally interrupted Wayne and focused my attention. If I applied this sense of being able to do anything well, I felt like I could go to the space where I met Stella and Prinia last time.

    “Umm….”

As I was concentrating with my eyes tightly closed, I felt the feeling of omnipotence that I had felt in my body just a moment ago slipping away. I was embarrassed and opened my eyes to find that Wayne and Arjen, who had been by my side just a moment ago, had disappeared.

    “Oh, here it is.”

Once again, the endless landscape of space welcomed me. It was exactly the same place as the place where Prinia had brokered Stella. However, the last time I came, I only saw vaguely twinkling stars, but now I could clearly distinguish their colors, shapes, and sizes.

The only thing that changed compared to before was this strange feeling of omnipotence, so that may also be the cause of this phenomenon. Anyway, after admiring the universe for a while, I came to my senses belatedly.

‘It’s not like this, we have to find someone.’

Stella and Prinia were also good. Whoever it was, it was necessary to hear a full explanation of this disparate power. There were so many things I was curious about, such as where the power was used, how far it was possible, and whether there were any side effects.

    “Umm….”

This sense of being able to do anything, which I loosely named ‘omnipotence’, did not mean that anything was actually possible. I’m trying to find out where Stella and Prinia are right now, but it wasn’t helpful at all.

However, there may be other reasons for this rather than a lack of power or a defect. For example, they also have the same power and cancel each other out.

In the end, I had to wander around aimlessly in this endless space. The good news, though, was that we were able to move at incredible speeds. As I increased my speed to the point where I could see the stars dotted around me as lines, I was able to meet someone sooner than I expected.

    “Huh? Who are you?”

Coincidentally, it was my first time meeting that person. He was a middle-aged man with white hair wearing a monocle over his left eye. Judging by his appearance, which had all the characteristics of a white man, and the fact that he was wearing a white gown, there was a high possibility that this man and I were of the same gender.

    “My name is Eugene.”

    “Eugene? Are you from Earth?”

Surprisingly, the other side mentioned the Earth first. Being alone in this space clearly means that you are God. Anyway, the other person seemed to be curious after realizing that I was from the same dimension, so he put aside the paper he was scribbling on and focused on me.

“The name Eugene is a common name in our country, but he only appears to be Asian. What is your nationality?”

Normally, the short speech would have been quite annoying, but for some reason, I didn’t feel much resistance. Rather, I felt somewhat intimidated, but this feeling was familiar. My graduate student nature of getting scared whenever I was in front of a professor came out.

    “Uh… Korea.”

“My name is Peter Stephen. I’m from Hungary. Anyway, honestly, I was a bit surprised. I never thought there would be someone other than me who created a wormhole large enough for a person to pass through. And at such a young age.”

    “……Yes?”

For a moment, I was confused as I had no idea what the other person was talking about.

“This is how I came to this dimension. Didn’t you come through a wormhole too?”

So, this means that this man named Peter Istvan opened a wormhole on his own and came here while he was an Earthling without any superpowers. It was a completely different case from mine, where I was forced to transfer due to Prinia’s carelessness.

    “Do you have a job…?”

“He holds the position of professor of physics at the University of Eötvös Lorand. As far as doctoral degrees go, I also earned a degree in mathematics and statistics. What about you?”

    “Uh… I have a master’s degree in chemical engineering.”

To be precise, I am a course student, but I have submitted a graduation thesis and am waiting for my degree certificate to come out, so I can actually think of it as a master’s degree. Anyway, I figured out the source of this daunting feeling. I couldn’t believe it, but he was more intelligent than my advisor.

“Ho, you have a master’s degree, but are you capable of opening a wormhole? Even though it may not have been your field of expertise, you are truly a great friend.”

I felt sick to my stomach at the growing misunderstanding. It felt similar to when the experiment itself was successful but I couldn’t explain to the professor why it was successful.

“What position do you hold here?”

It seemed like he was probably asking what God was in charge of. I could still say this with confidence.

“Ah… Actually, I’ve just been able to come here, so I’m not sure yet. I felt like I had become so clueless… I was originally planning to find Stella and Prinia, whom I knew, and ask them about it.”

    “I see.”

“Well… if you don’t mind, may I ask what kind of god you are?”

Peter laughed brightly, perhaps amused by my being so low-key. Just as I thought of him as an advisor, he probably thought of me as a graduate student.

“Hehe! There’s no need to be so polite. You are a decent god, so why are you so frozen?”

    “Haha… Ah, I understand.”

I pulled myself together. As the person standing next to Arjen, I promised myself that I would be confident in front of everyone. As I thought about that thought, my frustrated heart felt relieved.

“Well, I have mastered the world’s math and science systems. That’s the only thing I can do in this place where I can’t conduct experiments or research, much less write a paper.”

Peter was also good at speaking. Oh my gosh, I wonder if I even forgot to look for Stella and Prinia for a moment and started talking to them.

“Have you mastered the math system? Ah… So does this world use the metric system?”

    “I pushed for it.”

It was a moment when a question that had been vaguely confusing was resolved. I couldn’t just sit back and listen, so I told him something he probably didn’t know.

“Do you know that? The time scale between Earth and this place is 1:4320. One second on Earth lasts 4320 seconds here.”

“Oh, it’s amazing that you can accurately calculate the time scale of this place and Earth.”

This is something I found out in person, and he seemed to think I had derived it mathematically.

“Then what year is it on Earth now?”

    “Probably February 2023.”

“Hmm, then it’s already been over 20,000 years since I came here. Since I’ve been in this space for so long, my sense of time has become strange.”

“Now, wait a minute. 20,000 years? Isn’t the human lifespan around 100 years old?”

    “That’s right.”

“If you become a god, can you live forever?”

“No. That’s not it. Although it was a long time ago, there was also a deceased god. It seems like each person lives according to the time flow of their original dimension.”

If I assume that the remaining lifespan from the moment I came here is roughly 70 years, it means that I will live another 300,000 years.

I was worried about my lifespan, which was so short compared to Argen, and wondered if I should make a pact like Wayne, but I guess I didn’t have to worry about that.

However, a new worry arose. Would I be able to live that long life without Arjen…?
