Chapter Index

    Lidocaine Association.

A long-standing vampire guild that reigns in the northern part of Magusfall.

The Mark Feller Tower, one of the skyscrapers owned by the association.

Named after a former trusted collaborator of the second largest company in the world, the building boasts a whopping 181 floors.

Although it blatantly violates the city’s own height restrictions, its appearance is quite majestic.

Even the gargoyles are completely unaware of the illegal flights taking place around them.

One of the upper floors of a skyscraper.

A white-haired beauty was soaking in a huge bathtub decorated with pink marble.

    “….”

    Slurp.

It sent ripples through the contents of the bathtub as it flowed between her slender fingers.

It only takes 100 sacrifices to fill a bathtub.

The sacrifice was palpable just from the smell of blood all around.

In the midst of such a bleak scene, a mechanical sound suddenly rang out.

She was in the bathtub when she checked the terminal outside the bathtub.

Immediately a hologram of someone appeared above the terminal.

The form the blue stationmaster took was… the face of the second branch leader.

He saluted the woman in front of his hologram.

“The reorganization of each tribe is complete.”

    “I wasted too much time.”

The branch leader thought that it was a necessary process.

Because the various tribes were in disarray, each tribe needed to get used to a new hierarchy and role.

“And one more piece of news.”

    “What is it?”

A loud voice echoed throughout the bathroom.

“This is the story of the Privy Councilor.”

    “….”

She frowned in horror when she heard the title mentioned by the tribe leader.

He was an author who didn’t know his place.

The Privy Councillor’s author’s contribution to her master and the Society was, after all, a reciprocal relationship.

It’s not that one side is indebted to the other.

Besides, there was one thing her master had asked of her.

“Don’t give him what he wants until I give you permission.”

She wasn’t the type of person to just take the words her master said lightly. She remembered them clearly, even at this very moment.

“Are you asking me to make you a vampire again?”

    “No.”

    “…?”

A little curiosity arose from an unexpected place.

It was to the point where I wondered why that terrible author was talking about something else.

“It seems there are people after the Privy Councilor.”

    “….”

No matter how much I don’t like it, the director was a dog of the Lidocaine Association.

    “I will go there myself.”

    “No.”

She felt that the second tribe had a more important place for them.

“To be sent to the lower tribes.”

“These are the guys who just finished preparing recently.”

“Still, it’s not enough to smear our faces. If one isn’t enough, send two.”

    “…Okay, I understand.”

The second tribe leader’s hologram disappeared.

She woke up in a thick, bloody trance.

    ‘This guy and that guy.’

It was full of things I didn’t like.

As she walked out of the bathtub, the remaining blood on her body dried up.

Soon she was out of the bathtub and calling someone on the terminal.

    “Get ready to go out.”

    “…Yes, Elder.”

As soon as the hologram of that person disappeared, she transformed into the appearance of a nervous old man.

    ***

While that’s happening in the northern part of the city.

    “Huhhhh! What should I do?”

A grim request confirmed through David.

While the information that the 1st and 5th place candidates were basing their actions on was revealed to be fake.

It was a request related to the overthrow of the Lidocaine Association.

For now, I decided to wait for Sylvia and check with David.

“David, so who is your client?”

What kind of big-headed guy would put a politician in charge of the Lidocaine Association?

    “….”

    David’s silence beyond the screen.

    “David?”

“The content of the request is unclear.”

Then, it is inevitable that you will become even more suspicious.

“But then isn’t our risk burden too great?”

“At least there is a deposit.”

    “How much is it?”

It seemed like the decision to accept this offer would depend on how much the advance payment was.

The amount of the player fee and the percentage of the total compensation. Both are important.

“First of all, 8 million sophists.”

“…How much of that is in total compensation?”

“First of all, according to what you said, the deposit is about that much, and the principal is 15 million won separately.”

So, if you add them all up, there are 23 million sophists?

‘I think the bounty on my head was 25 million.’

“What, that’s less than my bounty.”

“No, that’s just because your bounty is high….”

David reacted as if he was dumbfounded.

    “That’s right!”

Anyway, I could tell that the guys who had entrusted me with this task were not half-baked.

Because I’m willing to pay that kind of money.

Is there really a wise man from the North behind this?

The timing was very opportune for us to receive this request, as we had just learned of Aka Aima’s disappearance.

However… the problem is that it is a picture that even I can easily predict.

This kind of blatant behavior is not befitting of the wise men of the North…

    ***

“Okay, then I’ll take that as an understanding and hang up now.”

Sylvia, who was talking to number 5, ended the call.

“Sylvia, what did that woman say?”

“I said I understood for now. But I said I wanted to listen to the recording myself.”

“No, you believed what the Cyclops lady said without any evidence, so why are you being strict with us?”

    “That’s right.”

Sylvia and I nodded our heads in agreement.

    “Chief.”

    “Mr. David, what’s going on?”

David, who was on the other end of the terminal, also relayed the request to Sylvia.

    “Hmm….”

    “Sylvia, what should I do?”

“The compensation is attractive, but I wonder if it is too risky.”

“I think it might be possible though.”

It seemed like if I just brought a swarm of mosquitoes and made a mess of things, something would work out.

Unless the Privy Councillor is a fan of omelettes like some House of Lords somewhere.

“2nd place, Elder, Second Tribe Leader. If these three weren’t together, you wouldn’t be able to stop me, right?”

    “….”

Sylvia and David remained silent for a moment at my words.

Oh, wait a minute. Did I really plant the flag myself?

“What do you think, Mr. Lund?”

It seems that Sylvia decided to use the Lund Chance in this situation.

Lund first mentioned the objectives of the commission.

Tom Glaisher, Privy Councilor of Magusfall North.

He seemed to be a prominent pro-Lidocaine Association politician from the northern part of the city.

    “He’s also my blood brother.”

    “Oh, really?”

“What are blood brothers? Is it like sworn brothers?”

“Well, they are similar, but subtly different. Vampires tend to have a strict hierarchy and rank. But now, it’s ambiguous for non-vampire species.”

“Then you mean you’re a sworn brother from a non-vampire race?”

    “That’s right!”

Tom Glaisher, I’ve heard that name before.

It seems like it appeared in the quest related to 2nd place and Lund.

    “You’re killing your sworn brother.”

    Sylvia looked serious.

“If the request is successful, the ripple effect will be quite large.”

I wasn’t worried at all by Lund’s subsequent words.

Right now, the 1st and 5th place are being swayed by false information and making a mess of things.

Me and Lund deal significant damage to the second-place team. As a result, we needed to take the initiative in the anti-Lidocaine forces.

In particular, it was too unsettling to let the fifth rank, a former saint, do as he pleased.

I wish the number one guy would fix his arrogant and conspiracy theorist personality… Well, it’s better than nothing since he doesn’t have the opportunity to do any outside activities anyway.

“I and the 2nd platoon will go.”

    “2nd Platoon?”

“Ah, me and Sheila, General, Lund, and Midas are the 2nd platoon.”

    “What?”

Lund was terrified to answer David.

As if to ask why he was mentioned there.

    ***

“We haven’t talked about it properly yet, but I think it would happen if we formed a platoon.”

    “Then me?”

“David is in the 1st platoon with me, Johnny, and Ms. Lina.”

“The 3rd platoon is Eslock and my men.”

David commented that my explanation and Sylvia’s explanation seemed surprisingly clear-cut.

“Anyway, is there anyone who objects to taking on this request?”

    “….”

I was like that too, but it was clear that everyone was strange.

Because I have no hesitation in going against that lidocaine association.

    “Chris.”

    “Huh?”

“Before starting the request, it would be a good idea to find out information related to the Privy Councilor.”

    “Hmm. I guess so?”

As it happens, I have a good source of information.

    Cyclops informant Aka Aima!

Sylvia, Lund, and I decided to head to where Aima was imprisoned.

    But before we leave.

David in the office told me.

It seemed like Libyan Tech had contacted me. They said they would send me a prototype of the 5-stage force field.

“I guess I’ll just have to install it. …Oh, maybe I should call someone else.”

“Chris, isn’t there a perfect person in this building?”

    “Huh?”

Ah! Lina! I got so used to it that I forgot.

Before Lina was a bartender and a problem solver for our office! She was a magician.

I immediately called the bar on the first floor and sent Lina to the place where Aima was being held.

We also heard that a prototype from Rivian Tech has arrived.

“Then… shall we take a break until Lina finishes installing?”

    “Not bad.”

In response to Sylvia’s answer, I laid down on Lund’s back.

“Ah, I said it was good.”

Our portable beds. Lund is the best!
