Chapter Index

    “It came out…”

    Rain muttered in disbelief.

It was the same for me too.

I was able to escape the room, avoiding Amy and Victor’s gaze.

    How is this possible?

I opened my mouth in amazement at the unbelievable truth.

“Shine. How did you do this?”

In response to Rain’s question, Shine put her hands on her hips with a confident expression.

    She looks happy.

“That’s right. Shine. How did you do this?”

There was no need to lower my voice once I left the room.

After hearing my question, Shine extended her finger towards us.

    “Jeff. Lane.”

    “Yeah.”

“You have to watch this carefully.”

    “Shine’s fingers?”

    “Yeah.”

Rain and I nodded and focused on Shine’s fingers.

Her fingers begin to move slowly in circles.

I felt puzzled by the meaningless gesture, but that thought soon disappeared.

    “Don’t think strangely.”

    “Yeah…”

Shine’s voice, which sounded like a ringing bell, lingered in my ears.

It seemed like the same thing happened to Rain, who just nodded blankly.

    “We did well.”

    “Well…”

“Yeah. Very well. Without Amy and Victor noticing. ”

“Yeah. We turned out really well.”

    “Right. Jeff. What about Lane?”

    “Yeah… Jeff’s right…”

The speed of the fingers that were moving slowly begins to slow down.

As I was spinning my gaze in accordance with the movement, a sudden sound was heard.

    match-!

Blink blink- As I slowly blinked my eyes, Shine was standing in front of us, clapping her hands.

“Good job everyone. Luckily, we were able to get out without getting caught.”

    “Oh! That’s right. That’s right.”

I nodded to Shine’s words and recalled what had just happened.

I avoided Victor and Amy’s gaze and ran out of the room like a ninja, keeping a very low posture.

“I was so nervous because I thought Amy would catch me.”

    Rain nodded and muttered.

    “Everyone. Is everything okay?”

Shine looked back at us and asked.

    Rain and I nodded.

    “Okay. Let’s go!”

Shine started walking forward, shouting loudly.

Does she know where to go?

    “Let’s go together!”

    I quickly followed behind Shine.

Rain, who had been standing blankly behind me, also ran next to me and started walking side by side.

It felt a little strange walking around in an unfamiliar place.

It felt different from the hallways I was used to.

“You must have really worked hard on cleaning.”

The hallway floor was so shiny it could have been used as a mirror.

“Rain. Is this the right direction?”

“Yeah. If you go straight this way, you’ll find the elevator we took earlier. ”

As he said this, Rain stretched his hand forward.

Shine and I nodded and moved forward.

In front of the elevator, where I arrived after moving my short legs hard.

The numbers shown above were changing rapidly.

    “11… 12…”

Even as I was mumbling absentmindedly, the numbers went up quickly.

I stretched out my hand and pressed the elevator button.

Kook- The cold button slides along your fingers.

    “Coming!”

The numbers playing downstairs started changing very quickly the moment I pressed the button.

    Ding-!

The moment the rapidly changing numbers stopped moving, the sound of the elevator arriving was heard.

The three of us gathered in front of the door and waited for it to open.

A door that slowly begins to open.

In the meantime, the interior of the elevator was revealed.

    “Huh?”

There was someone inside who had boarded it first.

Shine, who was about to quickly climb on, looked up at them with a bewildered expression.

    “What?”

    “Are you kids?”

There are several people wearing comfortable training clothes.

They all had tired expressions on their faces.

But there was a small spark of curiosity in their gazes toward us.

Shine stopped moving, looked thoughtful for a moment, and then looked back at me.

    I nodded silently.

Shine saw my nod, then jumped up and got on the elevator.

    “Come quickly.”

Shine, who got on first and turned around, called out to me and Rain.

The two of us followed her into the elevator.

A moment after we boarded, the doors closed completely.

    An interior filled with silence.

The first to break the silence was a man standing behind us.

    “Where are you going?”

A man who lowered his gaze slightly and spoke kindly as if he was asking us a question.

I kept my mouth shut at the stranger’s question and took a small step back.

    Amy said.

It’s not easy to talk to strangers and strange people.

    “Breakroom!”

At that moment, Rain, who was standing behind me, suddenly shouted.

I was so surprised that I covered Rain’s mouth and hugged him tightly.

    “Rain…!”

At my low voice, Rain turned around with a puzzled expression.

“Amy told me not to talk to strangers when she’s not around.”

“You didn’t do it to me.”

    “That’s true, but…”

“And. Isn’t that what Amy said because she was worried about you?”

As he was whispering to Rain in a low voice, the man nodded after hearing Rain’s answer and pressed the elevator button.

The stopped elevator slowly started moving.

I kept my mouth shut, held onto Rain and Shine, and moved away from the crowd.

The man who was watching me like that asked me with a small smile.

    “Where did you come from?”

    I didn’t answer.

This time, Rain tries to answer.

I reached out and covered her little mouth.

    “Ugh, ugh.”

    Rain grumbled slightly.

“Did you guys see them coming in this morning?”

    “I didn’t see it.”

When we didn’t answer, they started talking to each other.

A simple deduction followed as to where we came from, but it was not easy for them to figure out our identity without any information.

“This is my first time seeing the emblem.”

The man looked at the emblem on our chest along with the horse.

    “Ugh!”

Rain began to shake his body violently as if trying to shake off my hand.

This is not right, but Rain is trying to talk to a stranger.

I looked at Shine with eyes that asked for help.

She nodded, as if she noticed the meaning in my gaze, and grabbed Rain’s cheeks.

    “Oh my!”

    “Rain.”

    “Ugh!”

    “Stay still. Don’t talk.”

    “Ugh!”

For a brief moment, the moment Shine spoke to Lane, Lane’s movements stopped for a moment.

But that only lasted a very short time.

    She began to thrash again.

“It’s okay now. Even if you let me go, I won’t be able to say anything.”

    “Really?”

    “Ugh!”

Rain flinched violently and escaped from my arms.

The hand that was covering Rain’s mouth was a little wet.

I sniffed around, watching the others.

Sniff sniff – there was a slightly sweet smell.

    “Ugh!”

    Everyone’s eyes were on Lane.

I wiped my damp hands on my clothes and looked at her.

Rain, now free, was free to move around freely.

But even though the hand that had been covering her mouth had disappeared, she seemed unable to speak.

    “Ugh!”

Rain waved his hands wildly in all directions, seemingly frustrated.

    “Ugh!”

    Flap flap-

Rain continued to flap his wings.

Rain, who had been trying to open her mouth repeatedly, began to shed tears when she found herself unable to do so.

The tears that filled both eyes slowly swayed.

I reached out and hugged Rain.

    “Ugh, ugh…”

“Shine. Rain must be feeling suffocated.”

Since Shine made it this way, Shine can release it again.

But Shine shook her head as if she had no intention of letting him go right now.

Shine’s gaze was turned towards the strangers.

“Rain. He said he’d let them go if they got off.”

I read the meaning in Shine’s gaze and explained it to Lane.

Rain nodded with a sad expression on his face.

    Ding-!

As I was hugging Rain, the elevator stopped moving.

    “They’re all here, guys.”

The strange man spoke, looking at the open door.

This appeared to be the floor where the break room was that Rain had mentioned.

I led Rain and Shine out of the elevator.

The people who had been on board first were still motionless, as if they were thinking of going down further.

People who made eye contact with me waved and said hello.

But I turned my head away and ignored them.

As the wide open elevator doors slowly closed, Shine approached Rain and grabbed her cheek.

    “Ugh!”

Rain frowns as if he feels frustrated.

“Rain. It’s okay to talk now.”

Once again, the same thing happened again.

Rain, who had been dazed for a moment, blinked his large eyes and nodded absentmindedly.

“Jeff. Lane. You two shouldn’t question what I’m doing.”

    Short tinnitus.

I just nodded to the voice in my ear.

    I wanted to ask, “Why?”

Before I could even ask a question, a cheerful voice was heard.

    match-!

    “Ahhhh!”

The moment Shine clapped her hands, Rain opened her mouth and shouted.

    “You can say it!”

Rain looked so happy to be able to speak.

She jumped up and down in place, arms outstretched.

    “Yahoo!”

Rain’s voice echoed throughout the area.

    Her voice was very loud.

    “Rain. Lower your voice.”

    “Yeah.”

I hugged Rain and looked around.

Maybe it was because I was talking too loudly.

Eyes flew in from all directions.

    “Shall we move a little?”

I grabbed Shine and Rain’s hands and dragged them to a corner.

Still, people’s gaze showed no sign of turning away.

“Rain. Is this the right place?”

    “Yeah.”

“There’s a lot of delicious things here?”

    “Yeah.”

“Are there a bunch of fun games here?”

    “Yeah.”

Shine continues to nod her head to my questions.

I was stomping my feet excitedly.

“Where. Where can I go to eat it?”

    “Over there.”

In response to my question, Rain extended his hand and pointed to a large door.

It was a very large door.

It was closed so I couldn’t look inside, but people passing by often went inside.

    “In there…?”

    “Yeah.”

I swallowed dry saliva and took the map out of my bag.

A large sketchbook opened wide, showing a map drawn from my imagination.

    “Jeff. What are you doing?”

    “I’m editing the map.”

I just sat down on the floor.

My butt was cold, but there was no desk or anything to put my sketchbook on.

I took out my crayons and started editing the map.

The map, which had been roughly drawn, was gradually being revised and made more perfect.

If you have this, you will never get lost.

I felt proud when I saw the finished map.
