Chapter Index

Blink, blink. As I blinked my eyes, Amy and Victor began to disembark from the helicopter as if they were used to it.

I, who had been blankly staring, fixed my dinosaur bag and followed closely behind Amy.

“Didn’t I tell you before? I said I don’t like this kind of thing.”

    Amy looked around and said.

At her single word, the faces of the people around her turned pale.

Among them, the man who seemed to have the highest rank approached cautiously and opened his mouth.

    “That… That…”

“Okay. How long are you going to make me stand there in the cold?”

    “Sorry!”

“Can’t you see the kids are shaking right now?”

Amy said that and lifted me up.

The view rose high, and the short legs swung back and forth.

Amy dangles her Maddie’s handkerchief and locks eyes with the man standing in front of her.

His face was covered in cold sweat.

I waved my hand with an awkward laugh.

    “I will guide you!”

The man lowered his head and trembled.

Amy sighed at his appearance and answered.

    “Go ahead quickly.”

As soon as Amy finished speaking, the man straightened up and started walking away.

The people lined up around us also narrowed the range as if they were escorting us and guiding us to the rooftop entrance.

This is the first time in my life I have been treated like this.

I just stood there with my mouth open, unable to hide my bewildered expression.

As we entered the building in Amy’s arms, a large elevator greeted us.

It’s been a while since I’ve seen an elevator.

Amy carefully placed me down next to Shine.

Shine immediately grabbed my hand and pulled me towards her.

The time spent standing around blankly waiting for the elevator.

I looked around and observed other people.

People with very nervous expressions and their gaze fixed on space.

They wouldn’t make eye contact with us.

I moved in front of them and tried to jump.

As I jumped up, people with surprised expressions on their faces retreated in a rush.

I was so amused by it that I moved closer and jumped.

    “Jeff.”

    “Ugh.”

After a while of fidgeting, Amy’s hand grabbed my body.

The body, floating in the air and still fixed, froze in an awkward position.

I was in Amy’s arms again.

    “Amy.”

    “Huh?”

At that moment, Shine, who had been standing still, spoke to Amy.

“Is Amy the tallest person here?”

“Right? If we look at the rank alone, he’s right below Jin.”

    Shine nodded absentmindedly.

She seemed lost in thought about something important.

    Ding-

After waiting for a long time, the elevator arrived.

The door opened, and the man standing in front stepped inside, bowing his head toward us.

At that sight, Amy stepped into the elevator.

After that, Victor, Shine, and Rain boarded in order.

I looked out of the elevator while lying in Amy’s arms.

    “Don’t other people feel bad?”

The faces of the people standing outside began to turn blue again at my question.

I reached out and poked the sweaty man.

It was quite amusing to see her react so strongly to my gestures.

“Sir. Aren’t those people outside here employees? Aren’t they riding together?”

    “That… That…”

    “I’m Jeff.”

    “Yes… Jeff…”

    “What’s your name, sir?”

    “My name is Hailee.”

The man, who introduced himself as Hailey, took a handkerchief out of his bosom and wiped his forehead as he spoke.

“They still have work to do up here…”

    “On this rooftop?”

    “Yes…”

    “I see.”

    “Then…”

Hailey took her hand off the elevator’s open button and started setting the floor she needed to go to.

I waved goodbye to them through the closing elevator doors.

    “Hello.”

The elevator, with its doors closed, soon began to move.

The numbers indicating the floors decrease rapidly.

“How many times has Amy been here?”

    “Me? Hmm…”

“Are there too many to count?”

“Not that much, but I haven’t really counted it, so I’m not sure.”

“So, how many times has Rain been here?”

    “Me?”

    “Yeah.”

Rain, who had been standing there blankly, raised his head and answered my question.

    Her golden hair flowed calmly.

    “This is my third time.”

I opened my mouth to hear Lane say the third time, but then I looked at Amy’s expression and closed my mouth.

Not yet, it’s not time to talk yet.

If Amy is away for work, I’ll have to ask Lane where some fun places are.

    Ding-

With a small sound, the elevator door began to open.

    “Arrived.”

Hailey extended her hands forward and bowed her head.

Amy took the sight in stride and walked forward.

Not only her, but Victor and Lane too seemed very accustomed to this treatment.

    “Amy, please come down now.”

    “Oh. Yeah.”

As I shook my leg and spoke to Amy, she nodded and let me down.

It was like he had forgotten that he was holding me.

Thump- The sound of small footsteps echoes through the hallway.

A faint smell of disinfectant wafted from the shiny, polished hallway.

    “It’s always clean here.”

“You said you like clean things…”

    “That’s true.”

    We started walking slowly.

The sparkling hallway even reflected my appearance.

Tak tak – I tapped the floor repeatedly with short steps, and a funny sound was heard.

Shine, who was watching from the side, also started to follow me.

    Knock knock- Knock knock-

    This time, Rain joined in.

The chick bag on her back shook violently.

    Knock knock!

After the last step, it seemed like we had arrived at our destination.

Hiry, Amy, and Victor’s steps stopped.

The three of us struck a cool pose and took our last steps.

Hailey reached out her hand toward the large door.

The huge door that didn’t seem like it would open at his gesture gradually opened, revealing the inside.

    It’s an incredibly luxurious room.

The carpet covering the entire room, and the antique-looking fireplace next to it.

But how did they make a fireplace in a facility like this?

    “Inside…”

Hailey was polite to the end.

As I entered the room at his gesture, the door began to close slowly.

Amy walked over to the large velvet sofa and sat down with her familiar movements.

She looked so soft and fluffy that I ran over to her and clung to her side.

Next to him sat Shine and Rain.

Victor went and sat down across from me.

    “What about the report?”

“It’s under the table, in the drawer.”

    “Should I take it out?”

At Amy’s question, Hailey’s face turns pale.

He ran over and took a bundle of documents out of the table drawer in front of Amy.

The report had three main reasons.

Amy, Lane, and Victor were naturally handed a stack of papers.

I tilted my head at the sight.

    What’s mine? What’s mine?

But no matter how long we waited, there was nothing that looked like mine or Shine’s.

I puffed out my cheeks to express my discontent.

“Your performance has improved a lot?”

Flap flap – White papers quickly pass through Amy’s hands.

    “I worked hard!”

    “Yeah, that looks good.”

I watched the two people and opened and closed the drawer under the table repeatedly.

The rattling sound draws everyone’s attention to me.

    “What about mine?”

    “Huh?”

It was Hailey who answered my question.

He looked at me with great bewilderment.

I looked straight into his eyes and spoke.

“Don’t you have one for me?”

    “That’s…”

Hiryu’s gaze slowly moves towards Amy.

Amy just smiled slightly at the sight.

    “So…”

“I want to see it too.”

I spoke while showing the emblem I was wearing on my chest.

I came here with the same qualifications as Amy.

    “Sorry!”

Hailey immediately bowed her head and apologized to me.

    “Please wait a moment…”

As he said that, he took his cell phone out of his pocket.

    “Excuse me…”

Haley moved away while talking on the phone.

“Jeff. Should I show you mine?”

As he was shaking his leg and showing his displeasure, Rain handed him the bundle of papers he had been reading.

    “No. It’s okay.”

Actually, I wasn’t curious about the contents of the document.

I was just so upset that I didn’t have any part to play.

I want to be treated well too.

There was no shine. That was so disappointing.

    “Jeff. Are you crazy?”

    “No.”

Chin- Amy’s hand rests on my head.

Her hands gently ran through my hair.

Shortly after Hailey made the call, the door opened and a stranger came in.

He glanced around quickly and handed Hailey a large envelope.

After receiving the envelope from him, Ha-ri turned around and approached me.

    “Here it is!”

I received the envelope that Hailey handed me.

I felt a rather heavy feeling in both my hands.

Inside the envelope was the same report that Amy was holding.

    “Um…”

“Excuse me… Is there anything that is inconvenient…”

Even though I was handed the bundle of documents I wanted, my expression didn’t brighten.

Hailey, standing next to him, asked me with a cold sweat running down his face.

    “There’s no shine.”

At my words, Hailey’s mouth opens wide.

His gaze shifts from me to my twin sister sitting next to me.

Shine just folded her arms without saying anything.

“I think Shine is in a bad mood.”

She was very uncomfortable with the planting now.

    No, I was just pretending.

At my words, Hailey’s eyes shook violently.

He opened his mouth to me with an expression that looked like he was going to cry.

    “I’m sorry…! Please wait a moment…!”

He took out his cell phone again.

I turned my head away from Hailey.

    “Amy.”

    “Huh?”

“I think Hailee is really bad at her job.”

    “Really?”

At my words, Hailee’s back began to tremble greatly as she walked away from the phone.

“What would you like our Jeff to do?”

Amy smiled playfully and hugged me.

I folded my arms and put the bundle of documents I was holding down on the table.

    “Hmm…”

    I started to worry.

Hailey’s gaze was directed at me.

He was focusing all his senses on me.

“I’ll think about it after lunch.”

    I answered, patting my stomach.

Lunchtime was just around the corner.

    “Is that so?”

    Phew-

A loud gasp burst from Hailey’s mouth.
