Chapter Index

    The movie was very scary.

In terms of the plot, there wasn’t much to it.

It was about the main character and his group going to their alma mater, which was scheduled to close, to relive their memories.

The atmosphere at the beginning was very bright, with people making jokes about how they ate a lot of food here when they were in high school.

It was fun to chat with the security guard who retired a few days ago and is now volunteering.

But everything started to change little by little, starting with the guard leaving work.

The changed scenery of the school cannot be noticed unless you look carefully.

A gloomy atmosphere and background music slowly build.

It would have been better if the school had been dirty, but it wasn’t particularly dirty other than the dust, so the sense of heterogeneity was maximized.

From the moment the movie started in earnest until it ended.

I had to keep my eyes fixed on the laptop while trembling at every moment.

Honestly, I could have closed my eyes or run away.

If you think the movie is too scary, you can just take a break and watch it.

But there was a reason why that couldn’t be done.

    There are people.

I couldn’t shake in front of that bastard Noh Chang-hoon and say that the movie was scary.

So, while watching the movie, I forced myself to look at the laptop screen as if nothing had happened.

And I tried to break the immersion by occasionally putting water or snacks in my mouth.

Of course, I was still scared, so I held on to his arm.

But other than that, I succeeded in watching the entire movie without showing much of it.

Finally, as I watched the step roll go down, I spoke so as not to show my fear.

    “… It was fun!”

    “… That’s right.”

    “… ”

    “… ”

There was a long silence for a moment.

And I had a hunch at this point.

It was clear that this kid was quite scared.

I was just forcing myself to keep a poker face, and I could see that I was sweating coldly and growing fat.

And he must have realized that I was scared, so he kept his expression on his face without saying anything.

I thought for a moment. Honestly, if I wasn’t scared, I would have made fun of him as much as I could.

Since I was very scared, I thought the right answer would be to just bluff and draw.

So, I guess I can just get in shape and choose the next movie.

    “Let’s watch the next movie… ?”

    “Good… G.”

“Baby, why are you stuttering a little?”

    “I wasn’t scared.”

    “… ”

    “… ”

Noh Chang-hoon hurriedly wiped away the cold sweat.

I narrowed my eyes and stared at Noh Chang-hoon.

If it gets this far, I have no choice but to make fun of it.

“I was scared. Sit still. I’ll choose the movie.”

“Okay. Well, let’s watch a scary movie next.”

“Yes, yes. There are more here.”

“Because there is a lot of time. Anyway, if you take a vacation, you can play all day.”

“Do you also give me vacation?”

“If you keep replacing one person, efficiency decreases.”

    “Mmmm.”

Kang Si-woo’s sweetly smiling face came to mind.

He’s probably still running the campus by pushing other people to their limit.

Really, I would have given him a few hits if I had the chance, but it was a waste.

Still, he’s not that bad… I could see it as just one.

    “… Wow?!”

I tried to stand up and use my laptop, but suddenly my legs couldn’t move as I wanted.

The reason was obvious. I was so scared that I tried to move without knowing that my legs were weak, and that’s what happened.

Fortunately, Noh Chang-hoon, who was standing up, grabbed my arm, so I was able to avoid an ugly situation…

    “cub. I was scared.”

“I wasn’t scared! The kid was even dripping with cold sweat!”

“Someone lost strength in their legs?”

“Well, you bastard. Come on? Will there be a round? Huh!?”

I could tell without looking in the mirror.

My face must have turned red because I was embarrassed.

So, I made a loud noise on purpose and hit Noh Chang-hoon’s chest with my head a few times.

Noh Chang-hoon cleared his throat and crossed his arms.

It was clear that it was to soothe emotions.

And the silence continued for a while.

    “… ”

    “… ”

    “… Asshole.”

Those were the only words that really came out.

If you’re scared, you can say that you were scared, but we don’t want to admit it to each other, so we’re like this.

Noh Chang-hoon must have been embarrassed by that, too, and laughed.

He then opened his share of the drink bottle, emptied it in one go, and said.

“I’m going to the bathroom. Are you going too?”

    “I have to go, right?”

I looked at the trash lying next to me.

Noh Chang-hoon also saw it and laughed.

Honestly, it was worth it. I ate and drank so much to relax that before I knew it, there was only trash left.

Maybe it was because I knew I had drank so much, but I felt like I needed to pee.

So I closed my laptop and went to the bathroom when I realized something.

    “Hey, Changhoon.”

    “Why.”

“How does the bathroom work here?”

“I have to dig, look, and bury it.”

    “Ugh.”

“… Then what did you expect?”

“I thought I could at least use the bathroom in the building.”

    “Well.”

    Noh Chang-hoon nodded.

Still, I was glad that he didn’t forget the settings he wrote, considering he’s a bad writer.

On campus, important people were allowed to use the bathroom normally using a water tank.

Other people probably handled it the way Noh Chang-hoon said.

Noh Chang-hoon paused for a moment and then began to explain.

“I want to do that here too, but there are too many people and I can’t allocate manpower.”

    “Aha?”

“More than anything, cleaning the septic tank is work.”

    “That’s right.”

“So, we dug a big hole here and installed a toilet in it. About a simple toilet.”

    “I understand.”

    Honestly, I could understand.

Just because it’s a military base doesn’t mean things are going very well.

I knew that it was actually a great blessing to be able to watch a movie like this.

But that doesn’t mean I didn’t expect special treatment at all; I was disappointed.

Still, I couldn’t show it, so I told Noh Chang-hoon to take the lead.

Fortunately, the portable toilet was more elaborate than I expected.

Since they said it was temporary, I thought they just put up a tent.

First of all, I felt very reassured that it was made of bricks.

“If you want to wash your hands, wash them at the groundwater pump nearby.”

“What, is there a groundwater pump?”

“I installed it in a hurry a few days ago. In preparation for any unexpected situation.”

“Hey, the facilities are nice? We have always had to fetch water from the river.”

    “That’s a mountain.”

    “Chet.”

“I’m just watching. Because the zombie that was hiding last time bit someone.”

I wondered if it was necessary, but I calmly watched as Noh Chang-hoon told me to do.

And he gave a firm threat to Noh Chang-hoon, who came out to do some business.

It may never happen, but I’m telling you not to peek.

Luckily, nothing happened while I was peeing, and we went to the groundwater pump together and even washed our hands.

After that, it never occurred to me that this was a zombie apocalypse.

    Well, where. that… Hey.

Do you think you have come to a retreat or something?

When it was that peaceful, it was very peaceful.

    “Hey, Changhoon.”

    “Why.”

“Do you want to make a fire pit later?”

    “Did you come to play?”

“But the atmosphere is nice. how is it. By tearing down a tree.”

Noh Chang-hoon made a pitiful expression, but suddenly his face hardened.

But I ignored it. It’s not like there are times when he makes a pitiful face.

When he was bored, he made an expression as if he was pathetic, so it was easy to put an iron plate on his face.

“This is where relatively moderate forces have established themselves.”

    “Relatively moderate force?”

“Do you remember what happened in Jangyu? What I said.”

With his expression still frozen, Noh Chang-hoon set the mood.

Then it went to a corner and clung to me.

It was clear that something unusual was going to happen.

I recalled my memory for a moment.

He definitely said it in Gimhae.

“It was roughly copied from the real Gimhae. Right?”

    “Yes.”

“And if you don’t set it clearly, it’s changed to look roughly.”

I once had to cross a bridge in Jangyu.

And the bridge was very different from what Noh Chang-hoon had imagined.

Fortunately, the bridge was large enough to pass a bicycle…

I wondered if what he was trying to warn me about was someone else.

There may be information that is different from what I know in the novel, so be careful. Well, that much?

    “Right? What I thought.”

    “No.”

“Then what is so important that you hug someone like this?”

    “It’s called cannibalism, you know?”

    “… ?”

Cannibalism was thought to be cannibalism.

In other words, the same species eats the same species.

For a moment, I wanted to talk about zombies, but if that were the case, there was no reason to set the mood like this.

Naturally, the word cannibalism came to mind.

    “No way… ”

“You probably won’t have to see anything… I did mention a few lines.”

    “… ”

I wondered why I was only bringing this up now.

From the beginning, Noh Chang-hoon had no intention of properly depicting cannibalism in his novel.

However, because it was considered improbable that cannibalism did not occur in such a situation, only a few lines were described.

And we aim to complete the novel.

Since all you had to do was build up your strength in Busan and then move up to Gyeonggi-do, there was no need to know in the first place.

Of course, I could see what Noh Chang-hoon was worried about.

The idea is to be careful of the forces of evil that were intentionally ignored in the original work.

And the first force was the cannibals.

Noh Chang-hoon looked around, frowned, and said.

“In the original work, other forces did not invade. Why?”

    “Because of zombies?”

“Yes, because of the zombies. But now it’s a big twist.”

    It actually did.

We caught Baron early, even though he should have held out a little longer.

The butterfly had already flapped its wings, and it was clear that a storm would break out.

In addition, we had to take into account the fact that pseudo-religion would become more widespread in Nam-gu, Busan.

So it wasn’t awkward for Noh Chang-hoon to speak so seriously.

    I sighed slowly and said.

“Weren’t there any wars in the original?”

“No thanks to Kang Si-woo’s good coordination. The fact that there were only those left who would listen played a part.”

“But you’re saying it may exist now?”

    “Maybe.”

“And the conversation we’re having now, some of it can’t be filtered?”

    Noh Chang-hoon nodded.

    I quietly closed my eyes.

It already felt like my head was exploding.
