Chapter Index

After being unexpectedly exploited by Wayne, it was only a week later that the area around Lare was finally restored. There was no particular reason, it was just that Arjen had been sleeping all week and didn’t wake up.

“You’ve been sleeping for a very long time.”

“In a way, it’s natural. Well, this is my first time seeing Arjen sleeping.”

    “…What?”

300 years have passed since Wayne was confined to Argen’s Lair. That would mean that Arjen hasn’t been able to sleep even for a single day since I left.

“I saw him close his eyes for a moment… but he probably never slept for more than 15 minutes.”

    “Is this true….”

Even if it was a dragon, since it was a living thing, it was bound to be difficult. I felt solemn at the implication that Arjen had lived such anxious and painful days.

‘No. There is no need for me to meditate. Akasha you bastard….’

I feel like I want to kill that bastard at least once a day.

    “Umm….”

    “Oh, it happened.”

Arjen muttered his mouth and opened his eyes. Then he made eye contact with me and burst into tears out of nowhere.

“Huh? uh!? Arjen, what’s going on? Why are you crying?”

    “It wasn’t a dream….”

He must have fallen asleep after such a long time that he seemed to think of meeting me again as a dream. Maybe the reason I didn’t wake up for a week was because I didn’t want to wake up from a dream.

“What is it? Do you wish it was a dream?”

“No. If I do that, this world will end along with my dream.”

If it had been said by someone else, the thought that it might really be possible with Viola’s power was a thrilling enough threat.

“Hehe… But it’s reality that Eugene is here right now, right? Then I guess it’s okay.”

Arjen buried his face in my arms, not minding having his face crushed. I stroked her hair for a while to help her calm down.

“Now then, shall we do what we have to do today?”

Arjen looked puzzled at my words. I think I said something roughly before going to bed, but I don’t seem to remember it.

“I have to repair the area around the rare that was shattered while I was away. Were you planning on leaving it like that?”

    “Not really, but…”

Arjen didn’t seem to like the fact that he had to do something so bothersome after only a short time since we met again. Still, it was something that had to be done for a stable life. First, the surrounding area had to be restored, negotiate with Prinia, and meet Stella before Wayne’s future could be decided.

Therefore, I gave a little shock therapy to Arjen, who looked very reluctant.

“Arjen. I’m sorry for not telling you earlier, but the reason I was able to come back here was because of Prinia’s help. I made a deal with Prinia to calm you down Argen and restore the nature you destroyed to its original state.”

The only request she made directly was to bring Arjen back to his senses, but giving me the bow of the World Tree again was interpreted as meaning that she would also entrust the restoration of nature to me.

    “Yeah, really?”

“Yes. So, if I don’t return the surroundings to the way they were, Prinia might return me to the dimension I lived in.”

Of course, if that happened, Arjen would go crazy again and continue his destructive activities, so that wouldn’t have happened unless Prinia was an idiot, but fortunately, Arjen was persuaded.

    “That… you can’t do that!”

For a moment, I was startled by Arjen’s surprisingly sad voice, and then he grabbed my arm and ran out of the lair.

    “Wow!”

    “Fa, let’s start quickly!”

As I came out of Lair, as expected, a barren land welcomed me. Even now, I couldn’t believe it. That green field has become such a ruin…

    “Phew, then…”

I took out the bow of the World Tree. The bow held in his hand revealed its true form and gave off a dazzling light. I began to feel a warm, tingling energy other than Sirocco’s mana inside my body. It was the power of the World Tree that was used to lift the curse of the free elves.

    “Now, take this.”

Wayne, who was watching from behind, suddenly handed me a large sack. Inside the bag that Santa Claus would carry, seeds and spores of various plants were mixed together.

    “What is all this?”

“No matter how much power you use the World Tree, you won’t be able to create something from nothing. Because Arjen is a place where literally not a blade of grass has been left behind for the past 300 years. It will be easier if you use that.”

I wondered where Arjen went while he was sleeping for a week, but he prepared all these things. I guess I’ve become very clear-headed as I spent the time organizing Arjen’s rares.

    “I’ll call Kaela!”

When Arjen closed her eyes for a moment, her hair turned blue. Perhaps the deal with Prinia that I mentioned earlier had just been relayed, but as soon as Kaela took possession of her body, she didn’t do anything else and immediately hugged me selflessly.

    “Excuse me.”

Kaela said that and gorged on my mouth. It’s selfless, right…? If I hadn’t known before that in order to use the power of the World Tree when breaking the curse, contact with the mucous membrane was necessary, I would have suddenly wondered what I was going to do.

“Sirocco. Spread the contents of the bag around.”

    “Yes!”

At my call, Sirocco jumped out of my body and immediately started blowing. The plant seeds that Wayne had collected were blown around by the Sirocco wind and scattered around Lair.

“Grow, sprout, bloom, spread, the spread of life.”

When Kaela’s spell, which uses the power of the World Tree, was applied, the surrounding area literally began to glow with green light. At the same time, I couldn’t help but make a blank expression as I looked at the grass, flowers, and trees blooming one after another.

It was a scene no different from watching a documentary broadcast on fast forward about the process of turning the desert green. The ruins that Arjen had trampled upon in his rampage quickly turned into fields, forests, and mountains, coloring the earth yellow.

    “Wow….”

Wayne seemed to be feeling the same way as I was, and he let out a series of exclamations. After all, who wouldn’t be amazed when they see such a magical scene?

“…The river also needs to be restored.”

It was right next to it. Although it was clearly a miracle that she had performed, Kaela, who had been watching the greening process with interest, suddenly returned to her normal appearance and flew up into the sky.

“God’s blessing, a miracle to this land, and abundant rain in a drought.”

It flew so high that I couldn’t really hear what spell was being used, but I could feel that more of the World Tree’s power was being drained than when the miracle I had just witnessed was performed. I wondered what on earth had happened to drain my energy so much, but I was able to predict what would happen next when I saw that the light that Kaela shot into the sky created countless clouds.

    Shoot!!

As expected, the magic Kaela used was a magic that called for rain. The problem was that it was absurd to simply call for rain. Instead of raindrops falling, it seemed as if the clouds themselves had turned into fog.

“It looks like a humidifier was turned on…”

While she was talking nonsense, Kaela returned to her human form and landed lightly on the ground.

“It will last for about 15 days.”

“What? Could it be that this rain…?”

As expected, it was not ordinary magic, but the scale was enormous. This warm fog moistening the air was spreading in a certain direction with the wind, and from what I remember, it was where the river was located. It seems like they are really trying to revive the dry river.

“Wayne. Bring me the sixth druid’s ax from the warehouse.”

“Huh…? Was there such an item? Just a moment.”

Indifferent to my reaction, Kaela spoke calmly and instructed Wayne to bring something out. Wayne went into the rare and returned 10 minutes later, holding a long-handled double-edged ax carved out of wood in his hand.

    “I ran out of medicine.”

Kaela, who was handed the ax, said that and stuck her tongue in my mouth again. I couldn’t say anything and just gave him a kiss.

    “Eup-eup….”

“Puha… Then this is the last task.”

Kaela stabbed the ax at a place a little away from the entrance of the lair, which was now clearly back in the field.

    “Declaration of territory. Green land.”

The energy of the World Tree remaining in my body was drained by Kaela’s last spell, which declared a name I had never heard of before. To be honest, it didn’t feel very good.

    “Ugh….”

“Thank you for your hard work, Eugene.”

“No… Kaela, you suffered the most.”

I swallowed it without bothering to say that it was right for me to suffer because the person who broke it was no different from me.

“There won’t be anything more to do now. Since it was declared a green land, nature will bloom in an instant, even the land destroyed by Viola.”

I wasn’t sure, but I knew it was a miracle enough to use up the power of the World Tree I was given. The next thing to do is to go to the end of the world where the high elves live and meet Prinia and talk to her.

Of course, both Arjen and I were exhausted, so we had to take a break right now.

“The fire was urgently extinguished. I should be satisfied with this today…”

In another sense, satisfying two women who are not yet satisfied is another story.
