Chapter Index

“Sigh… Why does this have to happen…”

After the saint Selena used the Goddess’s crystal ball to summon the Goddess, I returned to Kubel’s house.

Right now, my house is where the saint Selena and the weakened Goddess Stellania are staying together.

I guess you could say that my house is more sacred than the Central Church, with both the saint and the Goddess staying here.

Well, from today, the real Goddess is open at the Yunoa Church!

Well… of course, I have no intention of actually doing such a thing.

“Goddess… Are you okay? Are you uncomfortable anywhere? If you need anything, please let me know.”

“I’m fine… Among the Goddesses from other worlds, there are those who deliberately stay in the human world.”

“Goddess… There are so many things I want to tell you…”

“Saint Selena, your faith is palpable. Thanks to you, I feel a bit at ease…”

I watched in disbelief as Stellania and Saint Selena chatted in my house, with a strange expression on my face.

Even after seeing that, Selena still maintains her faith…

In fact, she was happy to have the Goddess herself in her presence.

In many ways, Selena is quite remarkable.

That day, after the Goddess knelt before me and made a request, I agreed to keep her presence hidden from everyone.

If the Goddess who governs this world is in this state, it’s better not to let people know.

Stellania, staying in my house, had her unrealistic appearance changed to that of an ordinary girl with long blonde hair.

While having the Goddess stay in my house, I asked her about how to save this world and many other things.

Stellania seemed uneasy whenever I spoke to her.

It’s probably a strange situation where I have the Goddess’s life in my hands.

She earnestly answered all of my questions.

“The deity who brought you to this world is a Goddess from a different world. She is of a higher rank than me, so I cannot casually mention her name. You are a reincarnate and a disciple of that Goddess.”

When I asked about the voice in my head and the Goddess who brought me to this world, this was the answer I received.

As expected, the Goddess who reincarnated me was different from what I had anticipated.

According to Stellania, that Goddess holds a considerably high rank.

However, the narration in my head is not entirely the same as the Goddess who reincarnated me.

According to Stellania, when I was sent to this world, a part of the Goddess’s consciousness was implanted in me to help me.

In other words, a fragment of the Goddess’s consciousness detached from a higher rank Goddess is nesting in my head.

If the narration in my head inherited the Goddess’s personality, knowledge, and purpose, then that Goddess must have a similar temperament.

“Yunoa, ungratefully complained about the bad personality of the being who has helped her so far.

If that being hadn’t been there, she would have been a nobody on the streets as soon as she arrived in this world.”

Before I could finish my thoughts, the narration interjected with a scathing remark.

See, I told you so. It’s because of that temperament, right?

“Can you hear that voice again?”

As I muttered with the narration in my mind, Stellania asked me.

“Yes, did you not hear it?”

“I can’t hear it anymore. Perhaps it’s because everything I needed to say has been conveyed to me.”

I thought Stellania, being a Goddess, could hear the narration, but it turned out to be the opposite.

Rather, was it intentional for the narration to let Stella hear her voice?

Seeing this, I truly felt that the goddess connected to the narration held a higher position.

“Leaving that aside, how can we prevent the destruction?”

I asked the most important question.

The reason I called Stella in the first place was to find a way to escape the fate of destruction mentioned by the narration.

I thought that by summoning a goddess, we could easily solve it with the powerful force of a god…

“It’s more complicated than you think…”

Stella said with a troubled expression.

She began to talk about the ‘mistake’ she had made.

As the narration stated, the opposition between the ‘demon king and hero’ in this world was an eternal cycle created by Stella to avoid directly managing the world.

Originally, she was a goddess who had to directly observe and balance the world, but she chose a shortcut because it was difficult and tiring.

Even though it was known that the demon king was created by the demon race, the shocking fact was that Stella had created that demon king as well.

The most difficult thing in this world was balancing the demons and humans.

If the balance tilted towards one side, the world would suffer an irreversible blow and collapse.

Therefore, the balance of the two races was maintained periodically through the existence of heroes and demon kings.

That was the safety device Stella had created.

At first, the device she created to maintain the balance of the world worked perfectly.

People began to accept the existence of the demon king and hero as natural, and the balance of the world was well maintained.

However, just like any well-made machine, Stella faced an unexpected problem as time passed.

Due to not directly managing the world, Stella’s presence began to fade in the world.

According to the narration, the goddess gained power from the world while managing it.

As Stella’s existence as a goddess faded, she was losing most of her power without even realizing it.

The current Stella was literally ‘something that used to be the goddess of this world.’

And the real problem started now.

With the hero dead, the means to stop the demon king disappeared.

If she had the goddess’s power, she could have corrected and reversed everything she had created.

But due to losing her power, Stella’s current power was even weaker than the demon king and demon she had created.

“Which creator in the world has been overpowered by their own creation?

Stella was a pitiful goddess who was laughed at from all directions.

In fact, the god currently governing this world was not Stella, but rather the demon or the same.

I was shocked to hear the narration’s words.

But why did she create something like a demon in the first place?

“Managing the world was not as simple as it seemed.

Just as clear days could turn into storms and hurricanes, there were things that even gods couldn’t understand to maintain the balance of the world.

Creating the demon was not a wrong thing in itself.

Even if she had created something greater than the demon king and hero, it wouldn’t have mattered.

The problem was that she created such things with the purpose of turning a blind eye to the world and not watching over it.

Well, as a humble human, I don’t really understand, but I guess the results were bad because the intentions were impure.

Honestly, I didn’t want to think too deeply about the work of the gods.

“Even though the situation is complicated, there must be some way, right?”

    I asked Stella.

The narration said that the power of the goddess was needed to solve the problems of this world.

Therefore, isn’t it true that I risked my life to find the Goddess’s Correctional Tool and even rescued a saint from the Piphnel slave market?

“Right now, I don’t have the power to stop the Archmage and the Demon King. Yunoa, that’s why I need your help.”

Stellania’s response lost confidence as she entered the part where she needed my help.

In the end, it’s just saying that I have to do it again.

If I don’t do something meaningful, we’ll be in trouble too.

“Even if we simply defeat the Demon King now, won’t the cycle you created continue?”

    “…That’s true.”

“Unless we solve the more fundamental issues.”

Even if I defeat the Demon King instead of a hero, it would be useless if a new Demon King and hero appear.

If Stellania had the full power of the Goddess, she could fix it, but if she couldn’t, it would be better to get rid of it.

“…Of course, there is a way.”

    “Then tell me that way.”

    “Well….”

Stellania hesitated and seemed reluctant to speak for some reason.

『Goddess Stellania is still not fully awake.

Even though it is a matter of her world and her future.

To solve the many problems created with the full power of a Goddess, some sacrifices are inevitable.

Stellania still had the last bit of Goddess power she could squeeze out.』

The narration scolded the hesitant Stellania.

This time, whether the narration reached Stellania or not, she shrank back in surprise.

『After all, she still didn’t have much presence in this world as a Goddess.

What more does she regret in a situation where she is overshadowed by her creations, even by the Demon King.

Doesn’t she know that having that meager power of a Goddess will only make her useless and incompetent?』

    “Sigh….”

As the narration harshly criticized her, Stellania took a deep breath.

Then, as if she had made up her mind, she looked at me and said, “A hero appears in this world only when the Demon King exists. If the Demon King does not resurrect and disappears forever, the confrontation between the heroes and the Demon King that I created in this world will disappear forever. The Demon King is an existence that inherits the power of the Demon King’s soul, which is imbued with the power of the Archmage.”

“So, is the solution to eliminate that Demon King’s soul?”

“…Yes. And to do that, of course, the power of the Goddess is needed.”

Ah, so that’s why the narration mentioned that some sacrifices are necessary.

Right now, Stellania has almost no remaining power of the Goddess.

“The only power that can forcibly eliminate the Demon King’s soul that is passed down to the Demon King. That is the power of the Creator who created the Demon King’s soul. My Goddess power. And now, with almost no remaining power, the only way is….”

Stellania’s gaze slowly descended on the Dragonyte sword I was holding.

“To use that last bit of power to create a new holy sword aimed at the Demon King’s soul.”
