Chapter Index

With the outbreak of the species mutation and the transformation into a vampire, there was another significant change that occurred.

The standard for what was considered dangerous had significantly increased.

It wasn’t anything out of the ordinary.

As long as you avoided sunlight, silver, and crosses, there was no way you would lose your life.

You could even detect them in advance and avoid them ahead of time.

If it was like in human times, wouldn’t that be even stranger?

Of course, they all had various strange weaknesses, so in a way, they could be considered more dangerous than when they were ordinary humans.

But after getting used to their weaknesses for half a year and having all the annoying weaknesses disappear when they drank human blood.

The hurdles of feeling thrill and fear naturally had to be higher than when they were human.

So, standing in front of numerous amusement rides, I thought to myself.

Even if I rode the rides, it wouldn’t be that fun.

So, I decided to pretend to enjoy it moderately and subtly seduce.

Yes, I definitely thought that way…

    Crash!

    “Eek!?”

    “Thud… thud…”

“…You want to try that again?”

From the moment Jaehyuk’s bumper car collided with mine, my thoughts changed.

“I’m going to crush that guy.”

As the complex thoughts that filled my mind disappeared, only one thought came to mind.

If you dare to make the first move, you have to pay the price with blood.

Forgetting my determination to corner Jaehyuk, I started chasing after him with a fierce attitude.

Continuing to chase him until the end of the ride time, I eventually got off the bumper car without any gain.

    “Whew…!”

After coming out of the attraction, my excitement subsided, and I realized my mistake.

What if I recklessly crashed into someone while my blood was boiling!

You enjoyed it too much, you stupid girl!

Blaming myself internally, I shook my head slowly with regret.

“No, no… Honestly, I couldn’t help but enjoy the bumper cars.”

How could I not enjoy it and let my inner violence and combat instincts boil over?

Getting on the bumper cars made me violent, like an inevitable fate.

Shaking off any lingering regrets, I started moving to the next attraction with Jaehyuk.

…I vowed to fulfill my promise from the next ride.

    But the next one too.

    “Screaaaam!!!”

    And the next one.

    “Whoa, whoa, I’m dizzy…!”

No matter what ride I took, I couldn’t get a single step closer to the goal.

Either it was too fun, or I got motion sickness from being too dizzy.

In front of that hellish easy-sunda, all I could do was scream like a madwoman.

It felt like being trapped in an endless maze with no exit.

Since the results would be the same no matter what ride I took, I told Jaehyuk to take a break and sat on a nearby bench.

“Phew, I played so much that I’m a bit hungry. I’m thinking of buying a snack, what do you want to eat?”

“I’ll have chicken skewers and churros, please. Or should I just come with you?”

“No, you said you wanted to rest, right? I’ll be back soon, so just wait here.”

As Jaehyuk disappeared to get some light snacks, it was a stroke of luck in misfortune.

I needed some time alone anyway.

Taking advantage of his absence, I let out a sigh of relief.

Then, I checked the time, shaking my head slightly.

    “This shouldn’t be happening…”

The amusement park had become quite deserted due to the late hour.

I looked around, trying to swallow my melancholy, and quietly shifted my gaze towards the night sky.

“An hour and thirty minutes have passed, but there doesn’t seem to be any progress.”

    Disappointment.

    This wasn’t what I wanted.

By now, there should have been a tense atmosphere forming between him and me.

Why are we still stuck in the same mood as when we first entered the amusement park?

    “…I want to confess here.”

    My mind says.

It’s okay to take a little more time.

It’s better to do it properly, even if it’s late, than to rush and mess it up.

    But my heart says.

The moment of becoming lovers with him.

I want to leave it as a special memory that I will never forget.

    “Sigh…”

There are about two hours left until closing time.

I heard that all rides stop operating 30 minutes before closing, so effectively there’s only an hour and thirty minutes left.

Within that time, can I really confess to Jaehyuk?

    “I don’t know.”

    Honestly, I’m skeptical.

If there was no progress in the past hour and thirty minutes, will the remaining hour and thirty minutes make a big difference?

    “Maybe it’s too hard…”

Negative thoughts briefly crossed my mind, but I made an effort to pull myself together.

    I haven’t given up yet.

There’s still an hour and thirty minutes left.

    “If it doesn’t work out…”

“Hey, why are you talking to yourself like that? I bought snacks, eat them before they get cold.”

    “Huh? Oh, um… thank you.”

Jaehyuk, who had gone away to explore other options, suddenly came back and handed me snacks.

I expressed my gratitude to him and took a bite of the sweet and savory chicken skewer.

“Mmm, it’s been a while since I’ve had this. Oh, eating this brings back old memories.”

    “What memories?”

“When I was on a middle school field trip, I was just 500 won short of buying a chicken skewer. Oh, how heartbreaking that was.”

“That must have been tough. Did you cry?”

“Hehe… I probably cried a lot at home. I looked so sad that my mom took me to a big supermarket the next day and bought me a whole bunch of chicken skewers.”

    “You were a bad son.”

“Now I’m a bad daughter. Anyway, this is quite delicious, want to try a bite?”

    “You’re welcome.”

    “Thanks, dummy.”

As we chatted in a relaxed atmosphere, the snacks disappeared in no time.

After finishing everything, as I was about to get up to dispose of the trash, Jaehyuk suddenly stopped me with a serious expression and ran his index finger around my mouth.

    And then.

    Swiftly –

Without warning, he licked the sauce off his finger with his tongue.

    A truly bewildering situation.

I stood there dumbfounded, stuttering as I asked him.

    “W-what did you just do?”

“The sauce was on your face, so I wiped it off. What’s wrong?”

“I-I know that…! What about after that?”

“I licked it because it would be a waste? Is there a problem?”

“T-there is! Of course! It’s dirty! How could you lick something that was on someone else’s face…!”

“If you’re going to be like that, what about when you bit and licked my shoulder a few days ago?”

    “Oh…?”

…Now that I think about it, did that really happen?

I was too embarrassed to say anything.

I closed my mouth and started walking ahead to ride the next attraction.

    —–

    “…I messed up.”

I had to somehow capture Jaehyuk’s heart within the remaining time.

With determination, I tried riding a few more rides, but despite my best efforts, there was no progress.

    “I was too hasty…”

After all, there was no gain in the previous hour and thirty minutes.

Would pushing myself for just 30 minutes make a significant difference?

Jaehyuk, who had disappeared to the restroom, complaining of a stomachache after eating snacks.

I stared blankly at the spot where he disappeared, feeling the urge to borrow even a cat’s paw, and began writing a post on the community with that sentiment.

    [Help me out, guys]

    Author: Gaebokchi

I’m trying to get this guy to fall for me, but no matter how much I tempt him, he’s not budging…

    What should I do…?

Should I just go for it and confess?

I’m feeling so frustrated right now.

    – What’s the name of the romance game character? Any idea what the choices are?

    – Why are you asking the geeks here, gay dude? Do you think shut-ins like us have dating experience?

“…These useless jerks, I’m an idiot for expecting anything from them even for a moment.”

Indeed, a cat’s paw was utterly useless.

After muttering to myself, I leaned against the bench backrest.

Then, I put my phone back in my bag and let out a chuckle.

“Still, my mood has improved a bit.”

Although the relationship advice was no help at all, reading the cheerful comments somewhat lifted my melancholy.

With each successive failure, my confidence that had plummeted endlessly also returned a bit.

Compared to those guys who sit in their corners and spew nonsense on the community, I looked much better contemplating ways to win over Jaehyuk.

“…Right, moping around because things aren’t going well won’t achieve anything.”

Especially in times like this, it’s better to suppress emotions and think of ways to turn the crisis into an opportunity.

Who knows? Maybe a great idea will suddenly pop into my head?

There’s only one hour left until the amusement park closes.

With a frown, I once again immersed myself in the swamp of contemplation.
